Thanks David, as usual a good video but may I say that the vast majority of people that shoot, in the UK are struggling not to try to hit clays with the marginal gains that more expensive cartridges actually achieve, but are really struggling with the large increases in the cost of cartridges over the recent months , to actually justify carrying on shooting. How about a cost verses gains video ?
The B&P cartridges look great but I like the litespeed. They are smooth to shoot with soft recoil, clean, not much confetti from the fibre wad and a good price.
Fiocchi Litespeed I’ve shoot more than 3000 Fiocchi Litespeed 12G, in the last two years. They are a great cartridge for everyday use. Reliable, great value for money & bust clays time after time. The last time I purchased a 1000 they went up from £185 to £200 and now over £235/1000? From my local ground - Just Cartridges seem to be OUT of STOCK!
At my local club we had a load of Lightspeed in. Most shooters did not like them at first, so the club sold them off at cost. Now we have none left everyone wants them. I bought a couple of slabs cheap and put them away, one day I will use them up.
In Norway we are only allowed to use steel on clays. The Fiocchi F2 steel are good, but (very) hard recoiling and don't reach the quality of different cartridges made by B & P. Neither regarding pattern nor the comfort while shooting.
As a novice and needing to get a lot of practice in, save some cash at the same time, Litespeed are an option so far I can only find as 26g do they do a 21g
B&P f2 Mach over here in the USA are great as they have less felt recoil than cartridges of the same payload and speed. And they kill well as they have 5% antimony
Fiochi in the USA are around $600.00 US per thousand at best, usually more. I bought B&P in 28 gauge a bit over a year ago, great shell, but since they have almost doubled in price from $15 per box to $28. Glad I stocked up when I did. Miss the days of $5.00 a box for premium shotshells. Once in a while you still see the cheap cartridges going for $ 8.99 per box but not often. Lots of price gouging going on between manufacturers, distributors and retailers. More so in anything not 12 gauge.
Same here! I've stopped buying nice ammo and just bulk buy online whatever I can get for cheap. And your totally right about price gouging! It's insane what my local hardware store charges for budget 12ga.
David, B&P shells are highly regarded here in California, but they have disappeared from the market. They were always expensive. The 24 gram shells @1160 recoil less than a 20 gauge. The standard 12 gauge cartridge @1260 fps are stone cold killers at clays. No one Iknow reloads these shells. Perry Pappous
The Gordon Recoil system which I believed is owned, and used by B&P makes a notable difference if you need a hard hitting cartridge with modest or low recoil. Gamebore used to have a 'licence' to use the system within the UK, but that agreement stopped some time just prior to B&P launching their new UK line of cartridges? No doubt all B&P are first class cartridges.
Here in Australia, ie Brisbane the days of sub 100$ for a 250 slab have just about gone, Winchester super target is now 106$ a slab, Falcon is around 100$ but very hard to find..
Agree, but i'd rather pay 110 to 120 for something that patterns well, super targets are pretty average at best, clever usually can be had for 115 or so
I shoot whatever I can find right now. Winchester super targets at Walmart for $8.49 a box or about $350/1000 is a cheap as it’s been for a while. I’d love to find shells at $240/1000. Haven’t seen that here in the USA in a few years.
I always used liyavale express for clays and victory cartridges for game, great cartridges at a reasonable price, and never any problems, but once you find a good brand you normally stick with them 👍
Hi David I have used the B&P feloicy I found them to be very smooth teduiced recoil thanks to the gordon system that these have, they also seem to keep a tight patten. But a lot of money special day trip
Hope they have upped their quality as had absolute mares with blues and blacks, plenty not going bang and some getting stuck under ejectors of a brand new gun (20 mins old to me Reg fitasc) Hull for me are amazing so if they want a slice of big boys cake, hopefully they have massively improved their quality 👍🏻
State side “yank”, I shoot both Fiocchi shooting dynamics and B&P F2 Mach . Both 8 shot, both 1250 fps. Hands down the Fiocchi is a much softer recoil than the B&P. I shoot a full flat (250) every outing.
I buy multiply different shells for different weather conditions and disciplines. In high humidity with wind the pattern breaks up on very few occasions. Shooting handicap at the 27 and doubles takes better shells. I really do have a shell fetish
That was a fairly useless vid. No mention of choking in the gun and a fantastic view of your back and the right hand edge of the cage. Could hardly see the breaks on the first target let alone the second !! Come on David up your game, your videos are normally much better than this 👍🙂
Only tried Fiocchi Pigeon 32 fibre and Golden Pheasant fibre, Pigeon 32 I thought wasn’t bad, Golden Pheasant kicked like a mule with a hornet stinging it’s arse.
I've tested or rather tried many if not most ranges, manufacturers. I usually go with Gamebore or Fiochi but the costs are spiralling making shooting sports out of reach for more and more. Per 1000 most gave gone up £25-40 esp lightspeed etc
Not sure shooting relatively close rabbit targets offers a fair comparison on a shell like the Sporting HV. Would be keen to see how they perform on 55 yard crossers or a big battue, that’s where shells like that make a difference.
If your looking for a absolutely fantastic cartridge look no further than the bornaghi stars 👍what a cartridge, bornaghi do a great range of cartridges from the bornaghi sport cartridges up to the bornaghi stars there's a cartridge to suit all budgets in there range 💥david you should do a video on bornaghis cartridge range 👍
Cartridges are extremely expensive and difficult to find in the US. I recently found a case of Winchester AA and was happy to pay $150 for a flat of 250 cartridges which won’t last a week.
Can’t understand the slightly negative comments, not many clay vids show good breaks and shooter in the same shot as its very difficult to do and the whole point of the vid was comparing cartridges which on video you can only do through verbal comments and to be fair you didn’t stop talking. The only thing that could have made it better would have been confirming velocities over a Chronograph. We shoot a lot of .410 challenges in our club and learnt a hell of a lot by shooting .410 over a Chronograph and comparing patterns, lead and breaks. Fiochi 3” were fast over the Chronograph and had good breaks but we had to stop using them because of the plastic wad, very similar performance and breaks were had with Hull high Pheasant 3” 7, fibre wad but and awesome cartridge in .410
But no Lyalvale express to show which is who distribute them don’t they fiocchi are becoming incredibly popular the rossa where vey popular when they where first sold at my local ground
Cheapest plastic Litespeed’s near me are £217 per 1000. Trouble is that needs a 2 hour + round trip. Love this pastime of ours but it’s not getting any cheaper.
Sellior & Bellot super trap 28g 7's for me, they are not the one's ye grandpappy shot these are a clay pigeons worst enemy devastating kills at long range to, and under £250 a thou. I think they are better than a lot of top brands .👍🏻😵😵
Use to use nothing but fiocchi and won lots with them but there quality control has gone down to many miss fires and miss shaped shells not fitting in the gun moved over to another shell now but yes fiocchi are one of the cheaper priced shells but not always the best oh and if you contacted fiocchi about there problems with the shells your pissing in the wind there not interested
lite speeds are tragic!!!!!!!!!! .... handy if you know someone's getting married, forget the confetti 🤣.... but seriously ive had few of these from different boxes fail to go off
Absolutely ! Judging shells on the way the feel. Worth giving them to a descent shot, AAA or someone that has won something significant. Otherwise May as well ask a guy down the pub what they think. I know one thing at £350 plus a thousand they can keep them
Thanks David, as usual a good video but may I say that the vast majority of people that shoot, in the UK are struggling not to try to hit clays with the marginal gains that more expensive cartridges actually achieve, but are really struggling with the large increases in the cost of cartridges over the recent months , to actually justify carrying on shooting. Fiocchi Litespeed
I’ve shoot more than 3000 Fiocchi

@@garytaylor7611 I have asked David, to share with the TGS group, where we can purchase Litespeed at less than £200/1000? Watch this space!

Shot B&P bird hunting several years ago and really liked them.

I've shot B&P game cartridges, brilliant shell, love them. They also had the recoil reduction system in the cartridge just like some of Gamebore's
Gamebore actually is using B & P's Gordon system for recoil reduction.
@@jensgaus781 That's the one, I couldn't think of the name of it

B&p are excellent, very low recoil and great patterns, if the top cartridges are worth the extra money really depends what level shooter you are
HI David, we use B&P here in Australia and they are 100% so sweet to shoot and break clays - avg price here would be $140 Aus $ for 250 (slab)
Where do you purchase them from? I shot a slab of Nationals and really loved them

Aren’t all fibre wads “eco”?
Interested to know where you are getting litespeed under £200 - 1000 £234 at my dealer in Bodmin Cornwall
True, i'll have 5 thousand at under £200/1000 thanks very much.
No chance of getting them for under £200 a 1000...
Kindly, enlighten us, David where your viewers can buy at less than £200/1000?
Fiocchi f blacks have a very hard primer, stopped using them when I had 10+ miss fires out of 250.
Do you shoot a browning ?
Most modern shells will kill all targets. But sometimes worth paying a bit extra to have more confidence in your shells.
A Top AAA+ shooter said to me some years ago "They all break em...some better than others!"
Paying £55 /250 carton here in Northern Ireland for GB Trap which are fine for clays 24g. Haven't come across BnP as yet
What is your personal gun (s) you shoot regular..??
Fiocchi are my go to cartridge 👍
State side “yank”, I shoot both Fiocchi shooting dynamics and B&P F2 Mach . Both 8 shot, both 1250 fps. Hands down the Fiocchi is a much softer recoil than the B&P. I shoot a full flat (250) every outing.
Could you put prices as a comparison along with your opinion and rank as you think ?
Just load my own with anything that's available , when push comes to shove theres really not a lot init anymore just a hell of a lot of marketing 💥
I do a bit of trap. I always shoot the cheapest shells
I’m shooting the compac and sporting ones really kill nicely and very soft shooting. Not the fastest but hold a nice pattern
tt two blue box
or
fblack series
or what you can ger cheapest at local store😊
I buy multiply different shells for different weather conditions and disciplines. In high humidity with wind the pattern breaks up on very few occasions. Shooting handicap at the 27 and doubles takes better shells. I really do have a shell fetish

Game bore dark storm fibre the best in 8 shot no targets to far 👍
Eley Titanium will probably give them a run for their money. But I have heard Titanium might not be made in the future.

Shot a flat of B&P F2 Mach the other day. 12ga., 1oz., 7.5 shot, 1250fps. Nothing too different from any other shell I've tried.
Never seen or shot the b&p csrtridges but has always wanted to try them but up in Scotland I don’t know who stocks them.
Dear Sir, are you aware if NSI goin the RIO GROUP or the oposite?Do you have a link for this info?thanks a lot!!!!

B&p legends and flash 👌👌👌
oxford shooting company fiocchi litespeed 26g plastic wad £217 per 1000 so not under £200 per thousand
David, would you like to explain yourself on price/promotion of Fiocchi Litespeed under £200/1000?

I am in the USA and shoot fiocchi shooting dynamics
Lite speeds every day, great cartridge 26grm fast and gret patter.
gold fiotchi whatever vs cheap tt.two ;)
32 PLN vs 49 ;)
But no Lyalvale express to show which is who distribute them don’t they fiocchi are becoming incredibly popular the rossa where vey popular when they where first sold at my local ground
Never Heard Of Them Will Give them A go. I normally Shoot White Gold Megga Price Now !!
Where are Litespeed less than £200 / 1000? Maybe 2 or 3 years ago.
Fiocchi has just bought out B&P and Lyvale Express I have been told?
Can anyone confirm that?
Under £200 a thousand! When was this filmed.....2003?
No they are still under £200 per 1000.
£227 from my nearest gun shop that sells them, and that's when they have them in stock 😭
Haven’t seen Litespeed under £220/1000 at the very best, and even that’s rare.
Hi David is that for 24g fibre ?

They’re the only cartridge I use as well so I’d like to get them cheaper 😂
Yes, I would also like to know where we can purchase Fiocchi Litespeed under £200/1000? - fibre if possible
they r both awesom

Chris B who were you watching??
@@davidcoldicott8424
Did he miss many then, I thought he hit all of them, then again maybe this is why I miss so many
If you had the oportunity, try clever cartridges, for me is the best cartridge in the world
Fast forward to 2024, budget cartridges are now £320/1000.
B&P cartriges are very good and reliable
so many variants of cartridges
What is your name ?

Sir, it was a very informative video. Really enjoyed watching it. Can you kindly tell which shotgun has been used in this video. Thank you.
Looks like a Browning B525 sporter with high grade wood. Or Miroku....? Best guess from me.
Amazing review.
This video seems super popular but maybe im just not as early as usual.
lite speeds are tragic!!!!!!!!!! .... handy if you know someone's getting married, forget the confetti 🤣.... but seriously ive had few of these from different boxes fail to go off
Same with their ttone and f3 sporting. Even had a few with no primer! Will be going back to gamebore
Apex is expensive by my reckoning; $60 handloaded
I love the long range b&p
determining how a cartridge performs based on "tumpiness" and whether you hit the damn target is the moist stupid thing i hav eheard yet.
It's not brass, it's coated steel.
You have to hit them all Dave to say they kill well !!
Absolutely ! Judging shells on the way the feel. Worth giving them to a descent shot, AAA or someone that has won something significant. Otherwise May as well ask a guy down the pub what they think. I know one thing at £350 plus a thousand they can keep them
Nothing comes close to Cheddite Mach 3s or Trap ORO..
So that was a rather useless presentation!
Cheapest crap in US now $400 a thousand.
