    I am definitely not a die-cast models guy, and I don't even know, how I got here. However, I found this channel extremely addictive and pleasant to watch.
    Thanks for your work and content!

      I got here almost a year ago the same way. TH-cam randomly suggested one the the videos from this channel then I noticed I kept watching all of the videos released on the channel. So in the end I subbed and can't wait for new videos even though I'm not a Hot Wheels collector or anything like that.

    When I was a kid in the 70's, we did a lot of custom work on our vehicles, but of course nothing like this. These vids not only take me back to those days with my friends as we gave our parents heart attacks by "ruining" our brand-new vehicles, but these vids also make me want to grab a few cars and up my modding game. Well done and I know I have alluded to this before, but you seriously are like the Bob Ross of die cast. Kudos!

  • @thezapsback
    @thezapsback 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Everytime i watch your customization videos i remember Bob Ross' paintings. Once you begin cutting the parts of the car, i say " oh is he going to ruin or is it possible to make it better? " afterwards you make it perfect just as he does. Congrats as always!

    I got here from a thread on Reddit. This is one of the few times I've really been happy with the fact that I clicked on a video there.

    Looks spot on! I have a model to restore and has a broken plastic bed but wanted the wood look. Wondering what to use but the lolly stick, great idea and will make it more realistic. Was going for the pristine look but I like the weathering. How a working truck should look not showroom fresh. Thanks for posting

    I'd love to see how you'd approach a total repaint and detailing of a Batmobile (like the 86 one, or the animated series one, or an Arkham game one). Get rid of the gloss black and give it a nice satin finish with some battle damage and mud build up.

    Hello! I have been watching your videos for a while now and enjoy them very much. I have a rope hack you may want to try. Lamp cords are very fine braided wires. Strip a section of old wire and pull out two to three strands, then retwist it. Because it's wire it can be bent into a variety of shapes and makes great small scale ropes and cables. Also, as it is metal, it lacks the fiber that strings may have so it can not "fuzz up".

    Idk why TH-cam suggested this video to me but am I damn glad it did. If these videos existed like 9 years ago when I was actually playing around with HW cars I would've probably gotten into putting models together a lot sooner. I also would've saved thw horrible fate some of my cars had when I sharpied them to try and make them look 'cooler' xD Hell, I still have a wall full of HW cars, maybe I might experiment with them again after watching your other videos.

    I have no idea why this was recommended to me at all, I think I wound up clicking on it out of curiosity.
    I'm not sorry, and was actually engrossed in it. Now I shall likely open up a few other of your posts.
    I thoroughly enjoyed watching the lengths you have gone to in order to make this toy look like a miniature vehicle that has seen use, and got me wondering about an old moonshiner I'd seen a documentary on. It would sure be amusing to see his old truck with his still parts on it's tray ready to be set up in the backwoods somewhere !
    All said, loved seeing the quality of your craftsmanship, Thank You,
    Carlos.

    I used to have model building contest with a friend / neighbor. The 1st build i built was a 55 f100 i cuth the bed out and replaced it with a popsicle stick wood bed. For the interior i took a piece of vinyl seat from a car that was in the junkyard and thinned it down and covered the seat. Also made a adjustable hydraulic bed. He seen it before the deadline and said im not going to be able to finish the kids or dog got some of my parts i cant find them. 😂

    Check out potassium permanganate to oxidize the wood. Its commonly used on guitars to match the oxidation of the old body if one has been repaired or patched. Works really well but if you go to dark you can use oxalic acid to remove and lighten the oxidation shade to the one you want. Just an idea. Your method looked good but just figured I’d throw a suggestion out there

  • @zf9903
    @zf9903 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    As always, excellent job. One thing I will note, though, that is present on other videos of yours where you've made a car look dirty and weathered--I think more attention should be payed to where exactly tires sling dirt and mud and such. A rainy day on a dirt road (which this particular truck seems to drive a lot) would make whatever's behind those tires a little more muddy and dirty. This video's made some improvements on it, but in past videos I haven't noticed tire spray at all. Just my two cents.
