    Thank you for sharing these techniques and tips on lifting 1/64 diecast cars! Great tip on straightening the paperclip wire. It would be neat to see this with the suspension springs and colored covers to make them look real.

      You could use springs from a pen

    The wire straighter literally blew my mind. Like how did i not think of that?

  • @justinclark7223

    Great job ...I wonder if a spring from a ball point pen would fit on the upright part of the clip making it look like shocks ?

    • @jorgenlannock
      @jorgenlannock 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Justin Clark probably will look a bit oversized on these types of cars. but it is doable in terms of possibility.

      I think you could have easily wound some red or blue coated wire around the paperclip to make shocks.

      I feel the pen spring idea would work, might have to see which pens have a smaller spring, I’m gonna try this.

    • @AegisTheStoic
      @AegisTheStoic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      *Given the size relative to actual coils on a lifted truck, I think pen springs would be a great representation. I would look for those pens companies use to advertise. The cheapest, most mass-produced ones you can find. Nice and thin springs.*

    For a bit of realism you can cover your drop down wires with ballpoint pen Springs to look like actual suspension Springs. Just subscribed love watching a good Craftsman.

    Thank you so much! I just took an old Ford panel van and turn it into a monster truck! I tried using the spring mechanism that you showed in the tutorial, but I was having a really hard time getting into work. It was just too stiff. So instead I took a single paper clip boil it in the center, and then used it as a single spring. It was much softer! Thank you so much again for the video man!

    I lifted one of these trucks. I use the S10 Blazer with the football on the side. The chrome grill fit good in the front. I had to sand the bottom of the floorboard and the top of the base to get an even fit. Also the side of the base so the fit up inside the truck. If it really good between the rivets with the little bit of drilling out the hole. I wish there was some way to leave pictures and these TH-cam comment sections so that you could see it, it turned out really nice.

      My real issue is getting my paperclips nice and straight. I tried to use a scrap piece of 1x4 and it sorta worked but I am sure the piece of steel works better and If I had a decent drill or better yet a drill press then I would make a steel "straightener". I already see requests for more lifted vehicles, perhaps you can mix the next suspension/lift job with a madmax twist ;)

    it will also guarantee a better hold if its bent and imo just looks stable in comparison to this. you could also bend it around completely but that is some extra work right there
