Hi Will! Having become a fan of your videos recently, I asked myself, what is your go to carry-on backpack? Keep up the great videos and let's hope for many more hot towels to come!
yes I flew with them DRC...fastest route not that that Oslo, Malmo, Addis, Lilongwe ...then Lubumbashi but, I can say it was cheap Addis airport was a surprise in services but overall not to bad compared to others.
I have used them around Africa, to/from Asia and Europe . I have always enjoyed my ET flights in economy and business. It isn't glitzy, gimmicky luxury, but it's comfortable and I like the crew , who are genuine and hospitable rather than polished, automated robots.
I am from Ethiopia , i felt so happy that you tried our airline and i am glad that everyone of you who commented about it being good enjoyed it. Thanks!❤
Flew Ethiopian from Cape Town to Addis Ababa and then onto London. Excellent service, great lounge in Addis and flights on time and very clean. Will fly again.
I've only flown then once but I remember it affectionately. The thing I remember most was eating every two hours. Meal, snacks, more snack, then meals. They would even wake you up to feed you.
Flew Ethiopian business last month from Dubai to Addis Ababa to Kilimanjaro. Service and seat were great (got 1-2-1 configuration). Transit through ADD was seamless. Food was average. Overall a great experience and a good option for travel to Africa.
I remember getting my parents return trips - to Rome - via a bucket shop small ad. They didn’t expect much for their £350 (this was @ 1989 ) , but were plied with champagne and caviar, and amazing service. Nice to see their standards still hold true
Thanks for watching as usual mate - the support means a lot 🙏🏻. It was a fascinating insight into a new airline for me. Just need to fly them long haul now.
@@Trektrendy I fly them business long haul all the time across Africa for work (basically no choice from South Africa during covid). The airport is dreadful, they take chances on prices because South Africans have no options, there are just no frills on the Business Class product, the food is dreadful (it's exactly the same as economy, but on plates), and the A350 business seats are so narrow (I'm not overweight). Their online customer service is non-existent (it's always crashing), but their physical ticket offices have phenomenal customer service.
I love Ethiopian, it is my all-time favourite airline. I fly from Namibia to France frequently, and I have tried Air France and Qatar, but I just keep coming back to Ethiopian as a choice. They are more affordable, the routes are convenient, Addis Ababa is a great airport (since the revamp) but most of all it is the most amazing people on board that make the flight a special experience every time.
Flew EA from DC to Addis nonstop several years ago. Good seat in the 787 economy and food was plentiful and delicious. Slept almost entire way back that included a fuel stop in Europe.
Great job as always Will 😎👍🏻 ET is definitely on my wishlist 🙂 I'll probably try them either on this fifth freedom route or perhaps I'll try them on a longer flight given that they actually fly out of Marseille (via a fuel stop in GVA) which is my secondary home airport after NCE
Thanks so much for watching as always mate 🙏🏻 - the support means the world. Yeah i'd for sure like to try them on a longer flight. Certainly a more unique flying experience
@@Trektrendy Plus the fact that a lot of their EU routes often have fuel stops in other cities along the way (I remember previously Manchester was served via Brussels and like I said above Marseille via Geneva which isn't the most logical routing IMO 😅)
Not the most luxurious but I ALWAYS fly business on this airline for the service. I always feel welcome and swiftly attended to. I fly at least 3 times a year to Africa. They offered me twice a free ticket 1st class on losing my luggage. I always got sorted in the end.
I flew on Ethiopia in 2011. Philadelphia to Kenya, with a transfer in Ethiopia. Traveled coach. Most amazing service. The food was delicious and plentiful. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to the bathroom, and when I came out, I was offered a warm turkey and cheese sandwich on the most amazing roll. Than was just a random midnight snack. Full meals were served before you could get hungry. To this very day, I think about how good the food and service was.
They survived :) Norwegian that is.... And fun to see you in my home country.. I live about 15 minutes from the airport The airline is not responsable for cleening the aircraft, there are cleaning companies that do that job.But still sloppy cleaning Greetings from Oslo,Norway
Flew this airline a lot about 5-10 years ago. Ethiopian was always known in the NGO circles to be less pretty than South African Airways, but, you would arrive on time with none of your bags stolen. That and smoking in an airport was a surreal experience to see in the 21 century haha.
@@Trektrendy 😂 no need to apologise! Just appreciate the time and effort you put into the videos for us and its got me hooked. Stay safe and keep them coming!
The time you spent on board Ethiopian was short. I'd like to see you review a longer Ethiopian flight into or out of Ethiopia. This would grant us a greater insight into the real Ethiopian airlines. Instead this flight was as I said only a short hop.
Nice vid. Flew them this year FRA - ADD A350 2-2-2 Food was good Crew was nice and had a good sleep.. Transit in ADD is seemless and i recommand the airline if travelling to anywhere in Africa . Flew then ADD -DXB in B777-200 LR 2-2-2 different story . Food was ok and Crew too. Could have been a little more proactive. Whenever you wanted something had to ring the bell. They were sitting in the Galley and chatting . Besides that i enjoyed my flights with them and they are a good deal when redeeming Miles , because of the low taxes. Paid for both flights 30 000 Miles and 85€ .
I can't believe you only took Ethiopian from Oslo to Stockholm. You should have done one of their long haul flights. I've flown between Dulles and Addis many time in business. It looks pretty much like your plane, but the meal service is pretty good - featuring Ethiopian cuisine, then options for a continental meal. The seats are pretty comfy for sleeping. The entertainment isn't great, but as you noted, the service is good and friendly. Of course, it doesn't compare with an airline like Emirates, or even European (or US) long haul business class. But the flight from Dulles to Addis is 13 hours, which is quite manageable in business but would be absolute torture in Economy.
When you fly out of Addis you get Ethiopian food for dinner. Unfortunately every travel vlogger seems to get the old business class seat when they try Ethiopian. The new seat is much better.
Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏻 - and i'm glad I can give you an insight. I hope to run some giveaways next year so more of you can experience these flights :)
Also, I think Taag Angolan airline can compete against this product, they might not have the route network that Ethiopian does but in terms of hard product, Taag is better in my opinion.
