Problem with mine is, it connects. My phone shows its connected. But it wont make any connection with my ps5. If i do it on wifi there is NO issue whatsoever. What am i doing wrong !? 😭 Ive got a 11 hour busride next month. I need this working.
@@ManyaMitchell there is other things that you must test. First, does it even connect to you phone using the remote play app while your phone is on mobile? Have you changed your DNS settings on the PS5? What is your internet upload speeds from the PS5 (testing it on the PS5)? I’ll try to help you in the time given. I had the same exact problem though, so I know the problem. My iPhone on T-Mobile just stopped working when using the Remote Play App on day. This was when the portal stopped working on my mobile hotspot as well. If the portal connects to the hotspot then that is one thing we can “X” out. Next is your PS5’s upload speed and DNS needs to be changed to at least Google’s (8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4).
@@Sir_Tanooki_Dookie when trying to connect through the app it says a WiFi connection is required, always has said that. I haven't changed any of the ps5 settings, I'll give it a check.

@@fadhlikhairin30 it wasn’t me alone. But boy it took me a long time to pin point a fix for this. I asked around forums and Reddit and no one seemed to care, or have any idea it was an issue. I barely use this feature, but having it work and suddenly not made not knowing how to fix it sooooooo frustrating. Glad it helped!
Is this setting also available on Samsung Galaxy hotspot? I haven't been able to connect to my mobile hotspot since the 3.0.0 update. To be more specific, it connects once in a while.
@@Mr_Mango_kor as far as I know, this should work the same. Someone did comment to me that Android phones may not let you choose a password security type. This could cause problems. My knowledge only goes as far as this video though. I am just trying to help as many as I can.
My portal can Connect to iPhone but the picture on the portal is Like TH-cam 360p. Ma ps5 has Upload test of 36 Mbit. Dont change DNS to Google Server but why is 36 Mbit not enough or is it my german Telekom Router that stop my getting Full picture qualitative. In the Home Wifi picture is clean.
@@bitthecoin4192 honestly most people that have this problem have a realization that it is time to upgrade there home network. Owning your own equipment that you don’t get from your Internet provider is always superior as well. The reason why it’s able to connect while you’re in home with your router and have no problems because it’s not using the Internet router, simply connecting the data to your portal and your PS5. It’s basically just a wireless connection between both units if you had an issue here that means you definitely have an issue with your router, but you stated you don’t. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Yes, I followed the video and was able to connect, but the connection is horrible and only lasts a few seconds. I’m trying to connect thru my iPhone T-Mobile Hotspot. I turned on Maximum compatibility but it immediately won’t connect at all when it’s on. I’m not sure what the issue is. I’m wondering if my Portal is defective
@@brandon9670Maximize Compatibility will limit your Hotspot’s Speed and Strength. If you have already successfully connected to the Hotspot don’t ever have Maximize Compatibility on. Only use this if a device is have trouble locating it on your first initial connection to your Hotspot, but after that turn that off.
Okay dookie where are you getting the IP address your default gateway where are you getting those from? Those should be coming from your router actually so if I put those same IP addresses in I'm going to go through your router see you soon I'm saying so where are you getting those? I have seen other people use the exact same IP addresses so I'm just curious where they come from
@@Stev-mi2fd 172.20.10.5 is a private IP address which is reserved for private networks (such as Private LANs, Internal Networks etc.). Therefore, 172.20.10.5 has no physical location assigned. 172.20.10.5 is part of a private ip range following the standards set by RFC 1918. Reserved IP like 172.20.10.5 cannot be used to browse internet. A private network must use a public IP gateway or proxy to connect internet.

@@Sir_Tanooki_Dookie no i know sorry I was mad😂 but yeah i don’t understand why, i have a iphone 12 with the best LTE you can imagine and in my room my ps5 is connected with LAN cable 400mbs/s so i genuinely don’t understand because i do all the weird settings and nothing works oh and i live in Canada btw and for the details i connect to my hotspot and it works perfectly but when i try to play by connecting to my ps5 (away from home) i takes 30 seconds and it says error so i just can’t play so yeah it really pissed me of
