- This is a follow-up from my Sync 3 upgrade video. My drive modes are programmed now, and the car feels faster than ever! It could be in my head, but it pulls HARD, especially drag strip mode ;)

I have a base model lancer but I am looking to do some upgrades so that I could get a tune to add a sport mode. I want to be able to switch between modes still tho. What would be my options? My car currently has no options it’s just normal

I have a 2022 grabber blue GT, seriously thinking of getting the sync 3. My only issue is installing it. I have zero experience with taking apart the dash and messing with the electronics.

I have an Ecoboost Premium with the drive modes and they make a huge difference. Normal feels like it's sluggish until you really get on it and Sport, Sport+, and Track all feel much faster when just lightly getting on the gas. But yeah I'm really digging your car man it's coming together quite nicely. It's making me want to trade in for a GT.
Yeah, throttle response makes such a big difference in how a car feels! If you upgrade, you won’t regret it, but just make sure you’re ready and financial able to do so!
I just activated them on my 2020gt which is a base model, I can only get sport mode, normal, and drag strip mode to work the setting for sport plus and wet/snow says unavailable. Now I don't usually believe stuff like this makes big difference but I can honestly say in drag strip mode my car was a whole different thing I mean felt like when I had my foxbody and hit the nitrous and it kicks your car forward that's how it felt I just wish I could get the other modes to work as well.

Got a ? My mustang has got all that but if I run my vin they say its just a base model. But it's fully loaded with ceramic white interior and heated and cooled seats. And came with 20in rims. How would I tell what package it has on it?
That’s weird. If it’s a premium, It should show up as such. See if you can get a window sticker
Just a quick question how you did that install was that a reason your check engine light came on ? I really want to do it to mine just not to sure yet lol

Hi. I see you have a digital speedometer. Is it a engineering test mode? Or you found the way to make it another way?
2018+ mustangs have it
so the drive modes are held by the sync system? I have sync 3 and just changed out my gauge cluster for the digital one and now all i have is "normal" mode. I did have to disconnect the battery and it took about 2 hours to do. It reset my sync setting ie clock, preset audio, radio signals after hooking the batter back up.

Is the car supposed to have a hard shift between gears in different drive modes ? My mustang shifts hard in sport mode and track mode
Yeah, that’s the point of those modes; have hard firm shifts.
Is it normal to have hard shift into 3rd usually only happpens in sport mode
Yes. Trans can do that sometimes in sport mode
I have a Base/manual with a Performance pack and I've been wondering about this too.. I really only want the bigger screen for backing up but if I can get more driving modes I would take it?? I usually just take advance trac off and let her rip..
With a manual, the drive modes don’t mean much
Will this work with an aftermarket head unit? I got rid of my sync system since I had the 4” screen

Nope. Just buy your kit from where I got mine and he programs it for you.

I have a used but new condition Sync 3 from a 2019 Mustang bought off eBay from my old 2019 ecoboost never installed it since I just bought a base GT 2023 …. Is it gonna be compatible?
And who do I talk to for the programming ??

Does the change in different driving modes also be observed in the sound? like sport and track louder comfort quieter?

I’m sure there’s a way but It would probably have to be on a separate remote. If the car doesn’t have it, I wouldn’t mess around with trying to add it
@@JVette01 okay cause my car doesnt have active valves but I want exhaust work done but don't want it loud 24/7. might see if different driving modes make a diff and add cutouts if needed.

Will this activate the drive modes on a 2019 base GT or is it just on 2020+?
I’m not sure, but mine had to be programmed via FORScan

Definitely the OEM system. I’m not a huge fan of aftermarket infotainment systems

Nope. Works exactly the same as factory like I had on my previous EcoBoost

Yes
What did this Kit cost?
It was around $900.
Luckily the drive modes in the mustang are actually meaningful, most cars nowadays including sports cars all they change is the throttle response which is quite annoying and in most cases makes more then 1 sport more irrational

What the WHAT!?? I enabled my modes after the Sync3 install and I don’t have Drag Mode.
I only have:
Normal
Sport+
Track
Snow/Wet
What did I miss?
Only 2018+ mustangs have drag strip mode

Can you tell a big different in sport mode compared to normal, after getting them enabled?
@@479brayden7 I could always feel the difference between sport and normal. The addition of sport+ is great, having an Automatic. The ability to select-shift, with the stiffer shift points and have it go back into auto-shift automatically is really nice.

The person I bought it from programmed it for free included with the purchase

Okay I definitely need to find out how to activate modes on my 20 as well now, I'm pretty good with forscan now so I'm sure I can do it hopefully I can find info on how exactly to do it. Lol

what does the modes feel like?
@@jasonquiroz3899 so I got modes to show but it'll only turn on dragstrip and sport mode, the other options track, wet/snow won't work says unavailable. I did notice that it was bit more peppy in drag strip mode, I was using paddles and rolled into 3rd (10spd) and I run nittos and it broke loose really easy. I need to figure out why the other modes won't work and now my fuel consumption left is 4 digits now I wish I got 2356km/tank, obviously I need to adjust something but I'm getting there. Drag strip mode opens exhaust and makes throttle more responsive, I'd like to get snow/ wet mode to work though for rainy day's as it'll make throttle less touchy.
@@philthypony thanks so much! I currently upgraded my 4 to 8 inch display and I got 2 things going on. One, I got the old school chime when you open door, door ajar, going in reverse, and not putting seatbelts on. The sounds seems like they came from an old ford. Flat sounding chimes even. Also my radio was louder than when I installed the 8inch screen. Any suggestions?
@@jasonquiroz3899 so you can go into forscan and disable the factory EQ which is there to try and protect damaging stock speakers, I replaced my doors and tweets and then turned that setting off and it sounds 100x cleaner/crisper so that's the music part. I'm not sure if I'm understanding this right but I'll take a shot, I had to go in and disable those thing's I think twice I did it just to be sure I did it correctly and I've not had chimes, seatbelt dinger, etc.

That's unnecessarily cold bruv. Honestly I gets excited when I open my garage door just seeing that pretty stang sitting there. (not even moving yet). So yeah 80 can be very exciting. Be cool fam. 💪🏾
