I noticed in normal mode, even cruising at city speed of 40mph, the rpm is around 1300. In s+, 2000 rpm it will stay at if you are not driving aggressively. Reason probably to save gas on normal mode. S+ mode, the transmission stays at 2000 rpm so it can change gear faster. I haven't try anything yet beyond the first two modes.
At the Track/Drag Strip, Track or Drag Mode will work. If you are testing out line lock, it doesn't really matter. th-cam.com/video/vMXgPv93PQw/w-d-xo.html
No. Putting your vehicle in sport (S): • Provides additional engine braking and extends lower gear operation to enhance performance for uphill climbs, hilly terrain or mountainous areas. This increases engine RPM during engine braking. • Provides additional lower gear operation through the automatic transmission shift strategy. • Provides gear upshifts and downshifts more quickly at higher engine speeds. Basically, just the throttle response.
The orange color looks really good on that Mustang in my opinion. I have a navy blue Ecoboost and it’s really fun to drive even in the regular driving mode.
Thanks for the info. Here is my question. There is another mode not discussed. What happens if you just put the shifter down into S. I think this is the sport mode. What is the difference between the toggle switch sport plus vs the shifter S mode?

Question and I’ve been seeking guidance regarding this for a few months now. I have a 2020 Mustang GT, with your typical 5.0 V8. However, when I first bought it- I noticed it was missing the silver switch to change modes. Where your switch is, I have a steering wheel mode that fluctuates from “sport, comfort, normal”. I do NOT have a mode selector. The only kind of mode I can enter is “Sport” through the shifter which displays an additional S below your typical “Drive” mode. Is my GT broken? 😭(additionally, it has 55 years of Mustang on the inside dash which I heard was a upper level trim?) please help!
It sounds like you have the base model (300A). If you have cloth seats and the small radio, you have the base model. If so, it does not come with selectable drive modes. The Sport Mode on an Automatic Transmission is standard on a majority of vehicles.
These two modes have similar throttle response. I just added two data sheets (in the description) to illustrate the differences between the different modes in regards to gas pedal reaction. Someone on Facebook was nice enough to share this info.
When you turn off your vehicle, Does your vehicle stay in the last mode selected when turned back on? Or does it always automatically go back to normal driving mode?

So I’m not sure if this a trick that everybody uses but I’ve been wondering if it’s bad for the car. When you have it on sport plus and I’m at low rpm but want to downshift(I’m in an automatic) I press the gas pedal a bit and revs up to around 5 rpm’s. Kinda new to cars so just wondering if that’s a normal thing to do
Yes, people do this, and it's not uncommon. Is it bad....? Well, any aggressive driving can put extra stress on the engine and transmission over time, causing wear and tear. However, these are sports cars to enjoy, not to keep behind glass or drive 10 under the speed limit. Quick question: Does your mustang have the paddle shifters?
Well, you can toggle the traction control switch in Track Mode. However, the traction indicator still indicates it's off. Can't confirm without hooking up.
Most everyone already know's this, but hold your foot on the Brake and Trac Control button for 7 seconds and she's unlocked ready to go, just make sure yr steering is in sport.. That takes all the advance trac off and the car is supposed to be at full power from there..

@@mcgurrentertainment just got the car today and I have one more question if you're willing, everytime i start the car, the exhaust mode is set on normal and i always set it on sport, but whenever i shut off the engine and start it to drive again, the exhaust sound is back to normal mode, isn't there a way to save my setting so I don't have to do this everytime i hop into the car? I want to always have the exhaust sound mode on sport without doing this manually everytime i get into the car. Thanks!
This is a common question. Everyone loves the exhaust on sport/track mode. Sadly, I haven't found any information on how to accomplish this goal. I'm sure it would require some programming to make it work permanently.
The "S" on the gearshift level is Sport Mode; provides additional grade braking and extends lower gear operation. "D" is drive mode and is used for normal driving; provide best fuel economy when using the gearshift level. If you want to use "Sport+" you would need to toggle the Mode Button until Sport+ is enabled.

@@mcgurrentertainment and one things is the exhaust changes depending on the Driving mode for example if I put the car in track mode it sounds more than in normal mode
The factory Active Valve Exhaust was not available until 2018. According to Steeda, "In 2018, Ford first made the Active Exhaust option available for the Mustang GT, three years after the debut of the GT350 which came with the active exhaust setup in 2015. If your Mustang GT is older than 2018, you will not have the factory option for Active Exhaust available unless you own a GT350. You could still easily do so with an aftermarket exhaust system but it will not have Ford’s electronically integrated setup installed." (Reference: www.steeda.com/do-you-have-active-exhaust)
I have not performed any experiments, so bare with me. From what I heard, Wet/Snow mode gives you the best MPG, and then Normal mode is 2nd best. Is ther any way i can leave my car in sport plus mode without manually changing it everytime?
Not that I have found....yet
Howdy, nice video, very detailed and well presented, I have a few questions though. Why are the 0-60 times so different compared to what is advertised or what I've seen from other people getting 4.2-4.3 seconds? I'm picking up this friday my 2023 GT performance package and I would be thankful if you can clarify if it has 450 or 460 hp. Thanks
Keep in mind that the car is stock with oem tires. The area it was tested was not optimal for 0-60 testing (it was a safe area that was available). So the times are just used for comparison values between the modes. And 450hp
@@mcgurrentertainment alright, got it man, thanks
Anytime 😊
The S stands for sport mode right? I have a 2016 GT and if I wanna turn on sport+ I gotta put it on the S. Drive mode is regular sport.
@@mcgurrentertainment When I wanna use regular sport mode I have to put the car in drive and put it on sport from the switch. If I wanna use sport plus I gotta put the gear on S and then put the switch on sport plus.
@mcgurrentertainment what if I shift to S and then change mode to Sport Plus what happens then?
whats better in dragracing start 0 or roll at 40mph sports mode+ or trackmode i dont have dragstrip mode my model 2017
I am not sure I understand the question
@@mcgurrentertainment whats better on ford mustang ecoboost 2017 0-60 ? trackmode or sportmodes + and when we doing roll races at 40mphbwhats better to select trackmode or sportsmode?
When comparing Track Mode and Sport Mode, Track Mode has a better throttle response (see pictures in the description).
@@mcgurrentertainment Can I turn on traction control while in track mode? And which is better for 0-60 mph: traction control on or off? Also, which is better for a roll race starting at 40 mph: traction control on or off? thankyou for answering my question
Never tried to turn traction control on in Track Mode. Give it a try, see if it works. Traction control has the possibility to impact drag racing. Unknown about roll racing.
I never floor my car on track mode or do a dead stop on track mode…. My car losses control so I always keep it on sport + lol
Nothing wrong with being safe. Track mode is definitely for the track, I would not recommend it on city streets.
Does Base model gt 2015 have drive modes?
Sadly, no.
Is it okay for your transmission to leave it in track mode?
Yes, it's a badass sports car. 😎
Besides, it's only used on track day.
so i’m guessing the 2015 eco don’t have sports mode?
The 2015 premium is equipped with selectable driving modes
@@mcgurrentertainment man idk what that is. all i know is i have the ecoboost turbo charged and i don’t got that option
Do you have Cloth seats?
@@mcgurrentertainment yes sadly
This means you have the base model (100A). It is not equipped with the selectable drive model feature.
I just rented 23 GT and great video except the snow/wet portion was somewhat lacking. Going 25mph through a snowstorm on the interstate the Snow/Wet mode was absolutely worthless.
I'm sure the summer tires didn't help either
When lifting off in drag strip mode, are you flooring the accelerator all the way?
Yes
Does the 2015 gt performance package bring track mode?
Do you have the base model or premium; ie. Do you have leather seats?
@@mcgurrentertainment The premium, with leather seats
It should have track mode.
Does the 16 gt fastback Have those functions?
Yes. As long as you have the right package. However Drag Mode become available in 2018.
@@mcgurrentertainment and one things is the exhaust changes depending on the Driving mode for example if I put the car in track mode it sounds more than in normal mode
With Active Valve Exhaust, yes.
@@mcgurrentertainment and how do i do that? It's that I put mine in track mode and it sounds the same It doesn't change the sound
You could still easily do so with an aftermarket exhaust system but it will not have Ford’s electronically integrated setup installed." (Reference: www.steeda.com/do-you-have-active-exhaust)
is there an difference in fuel economy ?
I have not performed any experiments, so bare with me. From what I heard, Wet/Snow mode gives you the best MPG, and then Normal mode is 2nd best. Sport Mode through Track Mode turns the car into a gas guzzler. As far as exact MPG, I would need to run the car on a close track with controlled conditions. Good question, though.
@@mcgurrentertainment any plans on doing just that? :)
That's a tough one. Maybe one day.
@@mcgurrentertainment ok :)
Still trying to decide what car to get for my daily/work car
Pretty much, what you can afford and what is available.
Hello, I'm looking at getting a custom order GT fastback 2022. If I get the car WITHOUT the toggle switches, can I still change these driving modes from the console?
Sadly, no. What package are you thinking about getting?
@@mcgurrentertainment The Standard 300A. Had a few things I didn't want in that 301A package didn't want to pay for them. So I guess I'll have to upgrade to the GT High 301A Equipment Group. Thanks for the reply and information.
I understand completely. I was on the fence when I purchased my Mustang (300A vs 301A). After playing with the features, I really got attached to the Android Auto and Apple Carplay features. But cost does play a huge factor these packages. Sadly, the cost of vehicles are ridiculous right now.
How did you get the Digital speedometer? Mine only Shows the average speed
I not sure what you mean
I always thought there wasn't any difference in exhaust between the S+ and track mode😂
😁
Good sir, where did you get those floor mats?
Those are weathertechs with a custom decal.
How does the burn out setting work
I'll do the Line Lock video when it's close to tire replacement time. 😁
Lol great idea !
I thought the 18 GT had a 3.9s 0-60mph time!!
5:50
my Mustang GT EU Modell 2022: 0-100 km/h = 4,7 sec.
Cool
EU models have slightly less power than US ones. If it was a US one with 10 speed auto, you’d have around 4.2 sec
I have a 2022 GT and i only have selectable “Steering” modes
Keep in mind, Active Valve Exhaust and Adaptive Dampers are optional features for the Mustangs. They are not equipped standard for specific packages.
@@mcgurrentertainment yes i understand this but i dont have selectable drive modes. S+ Track Wet/Slippery etc. i can only change the way my steering feels
I'm guessing you have the base model (300A)?
@@mcgurrentertainment yes
That makes sense. Selectable Driving Mode feature is not available on the base model 300A. It's becomes standard on the 301A and up equipment groups.
Drag mode is not on the 2016 model
Correct, 2018 and up
What is you are on sport and you put it on sport plus ? lol
?
I have a 2017 V6 but it doesn’t have the button where I can see my modes is there any way I can change modes or do I just not have the option
Sadly, you do not have that option.
@@mcgurrentertainment oh Ight thank you
In my 2021 MT82 drag mode does not disable traction control. Track mode is the only mode that disables it for me
The "Traction Off" indicator light is only shown in Track Mode, however it is also Off in Drag mode as well (just not shown). Drag Mode provides maximum power to the drive wheels during the run; traction control enabled would counteract the straight performance. When Ford added this feature in 2018, it seems it was implied Traction Control was disabled. Good attention to detail 👍
@@mcgurrentertainment good to know, I always thought it was weird with it not indicating it would be off
Maybe Ford had a different programmer add the drag mode to the computer (just guessing).
Too bad they implemented the flap exhaust only with the start of the 2019 model with quad exhausts. But better than not doing at all.
True, Active Valve Exhaust was available for the Mustang GT in 2018 and then available for the ecoboost in 2019.
What mode should i use if im doing a rolls racing?
The "license and registration" mode
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd he does not mention the sports mode on the stick
Would you like to know what that feature does?
My 2017 Mustang GT slow asf, takes 6sec to get to 100kmh 🤦🏽♂️
😟
Great video but it's pronounced "dampers", not "dampeners".
Ok
@robadoon you need pampers 😂
i have to learn to be smarter than the car ha
Basically they are all the same😂
?
Any video that’s says"Spirited driving" is full of ish… Next!!!! Don’t waste your time
If that term offends you, you might want to stay away from the owners manual... "Sport + - Best suited for spirited driving"
@@mcgurrentertainment That’s the point we all have read the owner’s manual, im not asking for someone else to read it to me… I’m looking for real life detailed opinion. You don’t really know how the car works your just guessing and reading from a manual. Just for content, "Filler information"
Get behind the wheel and test on an open road and run actual test then post. Good luck
Prime example if your in track mode and tap the gas the car will drop gear for a few seconds. Good to do before a turn to prevent the car from bogging down when accelerating through a turn. Do your research you’ll see what I mean…
