For episode 2, We will conduct a compression test to get an idea of the state of the internals of the engine and to decide whether this particular brick is worth a full rebuild, a half rebuild, or just replacement. Then we will separate the frame from the running gear.

Maybe im to late for it, but the fuse list translates to:
    (in appearing order)
    -Instument/Break/Back light
    -stand/idle light
    -Blinker / Clock
-Outlet (Im guessing ist for the outlets you mentioned ealier in the Batterie Part)
    -Optional Equipment
    -Fuel
    -Dubble Horn / Fan
Awesome video series Man! Keep it going, you rock that editing!
    Greetings from Germany.

Usually don’t like build videos because of the amount of boring that most TH-cam folks have. But your content is just the best! I really look forward to this series man

Good start, props for checking compression 1st. Never ceases to amaze me how many people skip that, then wonder why the engine blew 6 months later.

Thanks for making the series, great to see full break down of the sorts of problems and trials that come up with this sort of project.
I'll be looking to probably get a K100rs myself in a year or so, and doing my own project. So learning as much as possible is always welcome.

Looking good. Makes me want to get on of these bikes and turn it into a go kart. If you’re ever working on exhaust studs again you may want to pick up a propane plumbing torch. A little heat and a gentle tap with a hammer usually frees up stubborn fasteners. Or if your not a fan of the fire approach look into getting kroil penetrating oil, or you could mix your own up using automatic transmission oil and acetone in a 50-50 mix in a spray bottle. Either way good luck with the project.

That frame struggle is so relatable.
I was fitting a board to an accent wall and had to sand and cut the bitch like 7 times to get it to fit correctly.
Good thing is only I can see the imperfections.

Badass. I know you're outside and you can't leave it but I like to lay a moving blanket down like a place mat, keeping everything off the ground and it makes clean up easier. That and a dropped screw or socket doesn't bounce and roll away as easy.

    • @Theillestrator1050
      @Theillestrator1050  5 ปีที่แล้ว

I could do that, my logic against laying down anything that isn't disposable like cardboard is that it'll get gross and mildew pretty quick cause the ground is wet

Awesome video. Can't wait to see #3 this bike is in quite a rough shape......holy shit. It must have spend a fair amount of time outside in all weather conditions. There are not that many miles on her. My 94 R1100RS has about 50k miles on her and I thought she was rough but seriously thinking about making a Cafe racer out of her. You are an inspiration buddy.
