  • For episode 4, I take you through the process of the front end swap, or the fork swap for the BMW K100 by using the cognito moto fixed offset triple tree kit and a 2004-2005 GSXR600/750 front end.
    PATREON???...yeah.

I thought of you while rebuilding my brake calipers this past weekend. Went to Autozone and bought 4 cans of brake cleaner and went with the store brand after seeing your last video on pricing. I got the bike back together but a storm came in and going out of town, so the test run on my brake rebuild will wait a week. Keep up the great work on the videos.

Freeze the shaft the bearing goes on and put the bearing in the oven to heat it up, heating expands the bearing open more, and cold shrinks the shaft, it turns 50 hits with the hammer to just one tap and it's all the way seated.

  • @MrMuppenpuppen

A useful tip sadly to late but maybe for the next time is IF the bearing is internaly mounted, shove it in the freezer like you did and if it goes outside on something then shove it in the oven on maximum 110 degrees celsius (IF you trust your oven) it will slide right on. No need for a press.
It's a good looking bike you got. Awesome build.

Im surprised the parts didn't sell. Every time I've put something up for a good price, they sell almost right away. Maybe there just arn't enough K100's around? Wiggle jiggle method never fails lol It's amazing how many spare GSXR front ends seem to been lying around they're very popular on racing SV650's as well. Bikes gonna look sick when your done.

I actually like loose packing peanuts (the rice-based ones only, not the styrofoam ones although styro would def be period correct for this build) - they are maximum cushion for your sensitive parts, and they prevent any bouncing around as long as the box is full of them. Annoying to deal with on the receiving end, for sure, but I'm always happy to have safe parts. :)

Bro...put those parts back on eBay for slightly cheaper than what others have them listed for and wait (buy it now not auction). Not everything sells overnight... I’ve had stuff listed for a couple months before they sold. Even if it takes a while it’s better than getting nothing and taking up valuable space

      - The illestrator - Yeah that would work too. Simple enough either shave the Old front bushing mounts off go back as far as you want, realistically maybe an inch at most. But your body would be back an inch, then maybe feet would be forward an inch. Just something to keep in mind I would change all that anyway to personal preference. Small changes like that on a GP bike change the handling characteristics like crazy. have
you thought about the geometry when you’re done with the suspension? Check out race techs suspension Bible!!! It’s a very good read! (If your into it)

Yo I’d happily take the seat and bracket if you’re just letting them go! Also love the build man excited to see it come together

No point in putting those nice forks on without going ahead and rebuilding them. No telling how the fluid and seals are. Can get an Allballz seal kit for cheap if your on a budget but i recommend OEM if you dont mind spending a bit more. Looks good so far man.

I usually go OEM for fork seal jobs. I'm not gonna do that yet though because that's more of a finishing touch for after all the interesting stuff happens.
