Hey Kenan, I wanted to thank you and Slinky. Today there was a problem with the power outlet to the cage of my blue tongued skink, Spike. Heat element and my thermostat with the alarm bleep both got turned off. I only discovered it after it had been off for at least 24 hours. But thanks to your education I knew exactly what to do. I checked on my reptile, carefully picked him up and am currently warming him up slowly. He allready started moving again, luckily he never got quite as cold as Slinky, and I checked in with my vet who said I had done all the right things and is pretty confident Spike will make a full recovery. As for the setup, I am gonna think about how I can make sure this never happens again. Thank you for also sharing the bad and almost bad stories. They are the valuable lessons. And today you got to help me save my reptile friend.
Honestly, I think Slinky LOOKS better since he moved into the new enclosure. Maybe it's the moving water or the extra terrain to roam around in but I don't that lizard has looked as good as he does. He seems healthier and more active to me. He doesn't even seem like he suffered much trauma after that unscheduled freeze over a year ago.
Kenan, what about stocking the water tubs with appropriate sized fish in the monitor enclosures and in Slinky’s pond for enrichment? That’d be fun to see them hunt!! Can’t wait to see Bobby’s new digs!! He’s getting so big!
Hey Kenan, Have you ever tried putting the fish in the water and letting the animals hunt them? Would that not work or do you think that could be a good source of enrichment? I’m just a little intrigued lol! Thanks for the awesome videos 👍🏻
Slinky is magnificent!! I love him, even though we’ve never met. So many of us have been watching you for so long and I feel like I’ve experienced ALL the emotions right along with you. When Slinky almost died, like many of your viewers I’m sure, it really hit me hard. I was so worried about him and because he came through so well, it made me love him even more!!🦎❤️🦎
I always enjoy seeing all your monitors, Pinky, Inky, and Lagertha the scaly beauties and then Bobby and Slinky handsome as always! Always great to see all the monitors. Have you ever thrown some of the fish into Slinky's pond to see how he reacts? I'm curious if he would consider them to be too much effort to go after.
Amazing, I know some people might find it cruel to live feed, but it's so good for the enrichment of the animal - they get to exercise both physically and mentally and use what evolution gave them! Saw a documentary not long ago where a whole bunch of Asian Water Monitors arrived at a river during a drought, they clearly all remembered that around that time of year that exact place on the river would be low, trapping hundreds of fish, it was a feeding frenzy. Such incredibly intelligent animals!
The pond is very lovely have you thought of putting a floating dock with a ledge for the turtles to sun in the middle? Also you while you were tossing food in I was thinking about a food zipline so it's more spread out and farther into the water.
It'd be cool to see how the monitors would go about eating some fresh water eels like the ones you can buy for fishing bait that are about a foot or so long! They'd be good enrichment, high protein and good nutrients with the organs ect!

I love slinky inclosre. But pinky cage is very nice to. You put alot of hard work in building encloses for you animals. Your amazing Kenan keep up the hard work.

Nice casting. I cast for shrimp,mullet & ballyhoo...its a workout!!! I never knew turtles could be called in by feeding. They literally zoomed over like ducks!!!
I love these videos Kenan! I watch them more than once and I wish I could catch fish like this for my snakes because it would be easier to feed them and not have to buy fish from the store every week or two
I love your monitors and have been wintering in your pond for years now. I'll be there by December this year to make my mudhole and steal the leafy greens and turtle chow while maintaining order as the Turtle King.

Slinky does look super healthy right now. His musculature and skin seem better in the new enclosure.
To me he acts more confident too

You would put the fish into the lizards water tub not put the lizard in the pond, then you’d never get them back 😂
