I have not been a fan of Roundtree previously but seeing him sparr like this made me a fan. He is twice the other guys size and keeps it respectful. I know how it feels to spar with bigger dudes that just bully you. It is not fun.
@@foulelements thought of him as a hypocrite. Talks a big game about kindness and then completely murdered the Lithuanian guys knee. A while back. Then you are a bit of a psychopath. (Even if it is legal.)
he genuinely seems like one of the best/nicest people to have fought in the UFC. Been a fan for a long time and he has been training in Thailand for a while now. He might be the only UFC fighter that can block/check kicks lol. I see why Anderson Silva was such a fan of him
While this isn't entirely unique to this style, a big part of Muay Thai culture is focusing on light, technical sparring. The thing I was always taught when learning Muay Thai is "heavy not hard". This way, you can practice your moves with good technique and reasonable power that your partner is aware of, while also not trying to physically dominate them. This footage is a great display of that, big ups to Khalil and Tay 🔥🔥
@@francescomaster8613That’s a dumb comment. It matters if that person is experienced and skilled or not. Love Khalil but he would struggle against a decently sized kickboxer/muay thai fighter even if they are relatively smaller than him in a striking match
There is so much control and skill between these two that i honestly can't tell if Roundtree's weight and height advantage are the reason why I think he's he more skilled one. This is amazing.
Rountree's just not as tall has the other guys but Khalil used to be over 300 pounds and turned most of the weight into muscle, but he's as big as anybody at light heavyweight and def one of the strongest.
Here after Roundtree Vs Hill announced.. Checking out how bangkok ready his striking is..and hes there he looks sharp..fighting this faster smaller dudes will have him being way faster than Jemal.. My money on Khalil
This is why Khalils techniques are crisp. If you're not going full out yoh can spar like this all day and work on all the stuff you wanna take into the lab. Don't get me wrong there are benefits to intense sparring but dudes that go full out every day usually shorten their careers before they leave amatuers and go professional.
Wishful thinking. Senchai is a legend, more accomplished in Muay thai, probably faster but Khalil would maul him with his size, guy is really good, not just a big dude.
Wish all heavy dudes knew how to spar like this. Total control.
A lot of heavy guys have insecurities deep inside. That's why they have to keep up the facade all the time.
Dude we know how Roundtree fights. Dude is a finisher. Thats why I hate when people brag about getting the better in a spar.

Agreed dude😬
curious why you werent a fan?
I've sparred with him before, and he's the exact same in person. He's a cool dude.

Love the respect after Khalil drops him with the calf kick. Walks forward and lets Tay Matee work. That's the measure of a man right there.
I noticed that too. Great etiquette
Khalil doesn't stop training this is why he is on a roll, he looks sharp. And this was a good work
Ye..he's looking as sharp as a razorblade..Jemal Hill in trouble
Khalil with the "Bangkok Ready" mode is scary
bro no one needs to type anything else about his thai beast comeback. this is it lol
I know he's contracted to the UFC but I'd love to see Khalil in ONE muay thai
they need more fighters in the higher weight classes but I agree, would love to see him in ONE, he could do both MMA and Muay Thai it would be great
He's too big for ONE MT
Great control from the big guy
My favorite UFC standup fighter. Definitely the most entertaining to watch when it comes to striking, especially at the higher weight classes.

GREAT spar!! In a gym, I’m always the little guy!! I’m always amazed at the weight difference in power from a 175-up guy/gals
Khalil is absolute unit makes this decent size Thai look like a boy.
Im thai but even if my thia nigka is the same size as khali he still get whooped by khali 😢

Khalil check-hook is smooooooth! Awesome technical rounds
As a thailandese im so peoud of khali that he make muaythai work in mma so many brutal ko in ufc and tuf 😇
With sparring like this they gain alot of endurance and fight IQ without the brain damage and respect them both for their power control 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Khalil is a real nak muay
Great sparring. Both men just doin work. No ego not trying to hurt one another. Good shit
These guys are fast. The video almost looks like it's sped up. Amazing
Awesome sparring
Get so used to seeing Rountree vs other larger 205ers like Walker or Smith that I forget just how massive the man is compared to "ordinary people".
Khalil in the cage vs out of cage very different
In the cage he is INTENSE
Outside he seems much calmer
He looks so big and looked small in front of Anthony Smith. These fighters are crazy.. imagine Pereira in same division
People really don't understand how big 205ers are until you see them in person.
Rountree's just not as tall has the other guys but Khalil used to be over 300 pounds and turned most of the weight into muscle, but he's as big as anybody at light heavyweight and def one of the strongest.
Pereira is in the same division, hes the champ
good show! I know those big muscles were really burning a lot of energy against Matee who was non stop.
Epic sparring
well controlled sparring as expected from pros
Those Thai’s created the monster that Khalil is today.
the leadoverhand at 3:07 is very nice!
Those little whole body feints or little twitches Roundtree does at the end is crazy!! Like around 6:35
i love tay matee giggling like a hyena the entire spar
Great spar
Would be so fun to spar a big dude this controlled
The teepe on that guy is a sniper shot
Love it

PEREIRA X ROUNTREE
KICKBOXING VS MUAY THAI
My goodness. Roundtree is FAST for his size.
Ye his speed is not far from Tay...and it's very obvious he's holding back ..most of these shots are probably 50% and lower
Beautiful
For anyone wondering … this man will be ufc champ one day . I’d start betting on him now
he wont

must be hard training in thailand for a big dude... can imagine there is not many big sparring partners
Excelente 👏🏿
อยากเห็น rountree อยู่ในวงการมวยไทย ผมดูใน ufc rountree เก่งมากๆ

Im trying to find it too, no luck yet

205 for half a day
ตัวอย่างใหญ่ แต่ โคตรเร็ว
He is too big to be that fast
Michael Jordan truly never stops competing 😅
Do the Thai's have to make that ridiculous noise the entire time?
The answer is in the question.
Khalil himself makes those noises.
I do muay thai and I can confirm it literally gives more power
It helps with the timing and rhythm too. Some of those sounds sync with the joints and movement needed for the technique
