Every generation thinks that about the generation before them. Keep in mind that all of those people have already seen a lot of what you are experiencing and made it through. The biggest obstacles from your perspective are things they overcame a long time ago, so they don’t see them as a big deal any longer.

I don't think young and lazy people understand economics. Nobody wants to pay more than someone is worth. Many of Gen Z will realize this and work on becoming more valuable to get the good jobs. Others in Gen Z will complain, put in little effort, and demand higher wages. Those will be the working poor. It's the same in every generation.

It's because you aren't the problem. They are gaslighting you. They believe they deserve better (whatever "better" is to the individual employers). You need to just lie to them and manipulate them into believing that you think they are the coolest thing since sliced bread and everything they say and believe is right. Ever since The generation of boomers westerners have been spoiled narcissists and bullies who only select people to work with if they are attractive/popular enough. Like never ending school psychology. They never grew up.

Every generation before us has climbed the ladder and pulled it up more and more.
Making minimum wage is next to nothing in this economy. We are going in debt and hunrgry just trying to meet the basics.
IQ has reached its peak, yet now that everyone is smart, we still have to raise the bar on them, which is shameful. Theres no end.

It is always hard starting out. You don't have the benefit of hindsight to see obstacles overcome. Each person in this generation will find their footing in their own way. Very few people just flounder for life. There is no doubt in my mind that Gen Z will contribute some great things to history when this is all said and done. I agree minimum wage isn't reasonable. In the US specifically, minimum wage is actually way lower than market minimum. In TX where I live for example, minimum wage is currently $7.25/hr, but the market is actually starting pay at $9-$10.

I do think they are redefining what success is in their own terms. The concept that working hard doesn't get you anywhere is a myth that I think this generation has been fed. @@BetterThing-jobs Elementary school maths will tell people that life is getting harder financially for people who start out. People should never ditch those who live with their parents unless they actually have a good reason to do so. There are far more dual income families and in many areas housing prices are out of control. How much people make vs all have to items and all have to monthly expenses. Older people who are ditching Gen Zers and the likes, many of them need to stop living in their past and see how difficult it is for most who are starting out in todays world. Those who say there are lots of Job opportunities outside of do you want fries with that, prove it. Making money off the internet, they make it sound easy. More opportunities to start a business, who cares, I mean, tell me how that works out for over 90% of those who do start one, that is, out of anyone who can afford to do so? Playing video games all day at Mom and pops, how is that any different than playing sports and so on during times when they can't find anything? Many corporations do not care and notably more people from the younger generations are well aware of this and are getting fed up and want more out of life. You go into areas with lower housing costs, well, how many are still available as in not already snatched up by those who can afford to snag them? The pricier ones are typically where the good jobs are at and how much time are people willing to spend traveling to and from work? Government jobs and such, okay, well, you need experience and how often do the older people take up the good jobs cause of said experience? Then you have people not getting lower entry jobs because they are overqualified and people being unfairly blacklisted! How about the fact that unless you have certain connections or what not getting a job that you do not have the experience for is far less likely these days and if you lie you can pretty much be guaranteed that they going to check regardless. Being given nearly 40 hours a week but not quite of even fluctuation hours that are always under 40 per week so as to not get extra benefits even if you were promised full and or overtime. Also companies that try their best to give you the most garbage deals when they know you are desperate and ones that will even flat out lie leaving with you less than what was promised at times even much less or possibly nothing at all which is extra painful if someone left a job for one that was supposed to be better in goodness knows how many ways. Even a fair number of people with good jobs, not talking about millionaires and so on here, are struggling more now. Trying to get a loan now is brutal even if you have good credit and have taken out loans before that have been fully paid off and you need a larger percentage for a downpayment on a house and other changes in the banking system, this should be concerning a lot of people in regards to, well, the banking system and just the overall economy. Plus, rent is out of control for those starting out and for the rest of us that got grandfathered in the landlord will not stop trying to raise the above guideline limit to ridiculous amounts year after year after year. Mortgages can fluctuate and trap a lot of people and personal information including SIN, credit card number, your phone number, your mothers maiden name, your address and so on and so forth being shared and even sold by companies is crazy and to add insult to injury you do not see a dime of it. Spam calls, and hey, in other places, take the Philippines as just one example, they do not have this problem, so you know something is up. As for property land taxes, what a bunch of hooey, I mean, in Africa for example you buy the land it is yours you build the house or pay for one being built it is yours, you do not have to pay anything else for those after that aside from hydro and that kind of stuff of course. Yet in the USA and other places you have ghost towns and the works where if they were suddenly occupied again on comes the land taxes and so on. You have places like India where scam call centres are flourishing that can call people from other countries scamming them out of their money with some of these scammers doing an amazing job at looking legit. People in this day and age have a lot to worry about in regards to all this stuff and more.

I find it interesting that 'This isn't a living wage!' is one of the complaints, but they also claim they aren't entitled. Most entry-level people need roommates or other financial solutions until they can get to a better place in life. Some people don't make it out of that financial strain. It's part of the stepping stones of societal employment. I don't agree with it, but accepting it and moving forward is how you survive.
The market is shifting, too. I get paid well working I.T. for a local rural hospital. Our market analysis means lower wages for the region, but now that we're post-pandemic, working from home for anywhere in the country/world is a real possibility. It's amazing not having to have a variety of office clothing or burn money on commuting, plus the time you get back with less laundry and less travel, and less getting ready for work. Sure, video meetings are a thing, but it gives a lot more leeway to your life.
