My kiss v2 25A 4 in 1 build everything works including the camera, vtx, osd, and receiver but none of the motors spin. I also dont get any beeps when I plug in the battery but I do get lights from everything and I connected to the kiss gui and flashed to the newest esc and fc firmware. Any suggestions or answers please help.
TH-cam flags you as spam when you multiple post like that. No need to do that. I see everything. If your motors aren't beeping at all when you plug a battery in, you've either not connected the motors at all to your ESC's or the battery is not actually powering the ESC.
I currently have HD3's! I haven't upgraded because of all the HD stuff starting to hit!! I'm jus kinda waiting for DJI to come out with a HD goggle module for fatshark or redesign their goggle or...
I wouldn't. DJI might release a ground station similar to Bytefrost's, but a goggle module is a) hard to cram into the space and 2) at the very least gonna need a cable going out of it and into the hdmi-in since module bay has no way to pass digital video into goggles.
I know someone who has a DJI HD FPV setup, but I'm scared to try them because I've been told it'll ruin you and you'll never want to go back to analogue. So for now I'm steering clear for the sake of my wallet :)
Yes Stay away man. I've been flying a Tiny Hawk Freestyle with HDO2 goggles.....it actually is a struggle to fly with the blurry feed now after having flown with DJI Goggles for so long. Buying the HDO2s were a waste IMO now. Despite all of the hype it will amaze you especially once you get up high.
@RIPTIDE FPV I saw some closeup footage of the screens of HDO2s taken with a sportcam, it was recording at NTSC framerate and the FPV feed was PAL, the differing framerates enabled you to see just how badly it deinterlaced the incoming analogue FPV feed. The image was continually jumping up/down by a single (analogue) pixel, you don't see that on the LCD based Fat Shark goggles. I was thinking if my HD2's ever gave up I'd look to buy some HDO2's because their FOV is the closest to HD2's that Fat Shark make, but after looking at the jumpy analogue picture, no way.
@@licensetodrive9930 I have the DomV3s for my first real fpv goggle and going from them to the HDO2S its very hard to see any difference other than the shadows are too dark. The DVR is honestly worse in the HDO2s. I have some recordings I did where the framerate is half of what it should be. Also the circular lenses are weird when your looking at a square screen.
Dang Bob, you really hate those goggles. 99% of people don’t have the complaints you have. Sure, they don’t fit most people’s head and you get some light leak but unlike other goggles it almost doesn’t matter because the screens are so nice and clear and bright. The screen is huge and not blurry at the edges like so many FS goggles. You can make the screen smaller if you want. Overall the image is so far and away better than what you get in any other goggles.
CineSplore with the 2203 motors (that will be back in stock in a week or two) is the very best performing whoop platform for a full gopro available today. The cinebird is for 360 cams and the frame by betafpv or Rob FPV are much better and easier to use than the stanfpv design. Don't get any electronics from betafpv. It's all garbage with awful QC but some of the frames are fine. If you're planning to take apart gopro's, more power to you. It's a hassle to maintain an exploded gopro working platform but if you're up for it, you can squeeze through smaller spaces easier with it.
@@Kabab I have the Glide light and love it. I was just looking for a 2.5 - 3 inch non ducted for easy shots. If the Cine-bird flys wanky I guess it won't be at its best as a 3". I'll keep researching.
I've been waiting to replace my old box goggles since forever but I think I'm finally gonna just go with the DJI plus the mod to run analog. Factoring in the module, it's not much more than a set of Orqas, all in.
How much do people actually care about that? It's also more likely that DJI will comply with any safety issues than any other company as DJI is much bigger and has a lot more to loose.
I think the plus is with the full size air unit? The lite is definitely better performing but if the HD video without any artifacts is important to you then the plus is for you
Are you going to be switching to just strictly Dji hd?? I hear a lot say the screens and colors are better on the hdo2 & orca cuz the amoled screens!! But then people seem to still say dji screens aren't as good but its hd!! I'm really debating selling my hdo's & Hdo 2 but then I got buy 2 sets of dji for my kids and convert my 5 inch & then I don't know what I will do with my micros!!
Is Caddx VISTA 720p and not 1080p...so its design plan is to match Goggle resolution... The price point is high when accounting for the down grade in capability. 1080p down to 720p, onboard 1080p recording vs DVR 720 and antenna limits range. Micros are generally cheaper market segment, and still tag it with DJI and double margins...ugh All that said I dont see benefit to Vista over Air Unit at 3" and 5"...thoughts?
I have the dolphin 🐬 4” gep rc . It has the same fc . I got full osd on uart 2 but it needs uart 2 for sbus. How do they have it set up on the rocker lite ?

And if we really need to stick to 250g auw in the future, well then DJI is gonna have a hard time fitting in with the added weight. We also don't know yet if we will see DJI goggle modules. @@junglistfpv8553 Yep it sure is. I came from EV800D's before I had my DJI's. My main worry was FOV and latency and after getting the DJI's neither were any issue. The FOV is much the same and can be wider if you switch the DJI's to 16:9 mode. The latency felt just as snappy so no issues there either. My EV800D's never let me down but I was not unhappy to see them go once I had tried the DJI's.
I got one, took off prop guards, put on avan mini 2.3 inch and I get 5.5 to 7 minutes casual to fast flying. Plus, I broke guard on first crash. Avan mini props nearly indestructible.
Lars. Look into lithium ion 18650 cells. Yes a 3 cell pack will weigh around 155g. But it will be packing around 3000mah and has the potential to triple flight times depending on setup/combo. I have a heavier 3in drone I designed/built that was struggling to get more than 4min on a 3s 650 Lipo(landing at 3.8v per cell). I built a 2100mah 3s Lithium Ion and my first pack hit 11 min flight time landing at 3v per cell. Doubled my pack weight but trippled my flight time. Lithium Ion has it's limitations, only a couple cells may deliver the current needed and they ONLY will take 1C max charge rate so they are slow to charge. But once you learn about them you cannot help but want to experiment a little bit. A friend of mine got 19min on a tooth pick build with a 2100mah 3s. He said he was bored to death flying it because it doesnt lend itself to ripping. But an HD setup that is super pretty to look at things and enjoy being a hummingbird(or maybe a big lazy moth) while flying for awhile while other packs are charging... that could be a thing.

Man, I am really liking this layout; I know you said that it was a little on the hefty side...would you recommend that I wait for what could be around the corner, or should I jump on board? The beta quad with the vista looks too cheap and flimsy for my liking.
@@Kabab It's one with original air unit. geprc.com/product/rocket-plus-dji-air-unit-hd-fpv/ . It's definitely heavier but we get 1080p. The weight difference is just 20g. I feel like it can go down to 10g if we replace the original antennas with whip antennas.
Thanks for all your content Bob. As a fairly new pilot with ev800d goggles and looking to upgrade (currently only have a single 5 inch quad) would you recommend DJI + Rapidfire over something like the HDO2s with Rapidfire?
The range is really amazing 🤭 Does DJI force updates on the Air unit or can you ignore the newest updates? It’s a lot of money for something that might be Nerfed after impending FAA proposals 🤷♂️

After fixing the goggles to fit, they should put a camera in the front (ala skyzones) and overlay the image on the digital fpv feed so one could drive while flying.

just ordered the Hd System (non-controller). going to run it with my crossfire for now. will fly mostly 5inch quads. Do you think getting controller too is worth while? just heard 1 or 2 stories (not many) of failsafes on the 5.8ghz that sketched me out

@@phildawe7172 years it might feel laggy at first but it's the huge screen n 120 fps. And FYI Bardwell says the only time he failsafe his crsf at 250mw was on dji at 1200mw, so it's r9m at 1watt for me, and I really push range w obstacles

Nice to see someone give some honest feedback about the shitty fitment of these goggles. pinchtune did as well, but most just gloss over it. No way i'm buying a bad fitting goggle. I still think fatshark owes me some face foam for my hdo2, cause that crap they shipped with them was a joke. That's some great range/penetration, but how's the latency? Do some fast proximity, see if you hit stuff.🤣 I'm always on the verge of slamming into a tree or getting stuck in a tree, so any added latency is a deal breaker.
Damn brother! My wallet just burst out in tears! I am still waiting to choose my first DJI setup. Looked at iFlight 3inch, I got excited with the cinewhoops but they are so fugly and heavy... this however looks like the perfect lil quad to bring everywhere. range, multipath performance and penetration seems to be relatively good on digital compared to analogue but for real long range fpv, is digital currently viable? (the snob's 'long range' definition, not just pushing the limit of a tiny whoop lol). also have you seen the Newbeedrone Smoov 2306 motors? they have 1 ring magnet in the bell instead of 14 individual ones or whatever, seems interesting for fpv. we didn't do this normally because the individual magnets allowed us to use magnets of much higher strength than traditional small brushless motors a lot of which already have ring magnets, as you might have already seen but the method to magnetize a ring magnet makes it harder to make it stronger but if they could be as strong, it would mean a lot of advantages like magnets not slipping, airgap and efficiency etc. And NBDrone have made the ring magnet strength almost equivalent to the grade of a modern fpv motor, might be worth a look
the one magnet ring is quite interesting. last I checked it was really hard to do that with strong magnets. As for the long range thing, yeah I don't think I'd use DJI for long range still but it's definitely capable of it. It's just not as easy to read what's happening with your video when you're on digital. It doesn't drop off instantly but if you're not paying attention you can miss the signals.
@@icarusix8750 As far as we know, it´s actually a firmware issue. But it´s doubtful if DJI will ever fix this, since flying that far away is in nearly every country illegal. But hey, 4 miles one way on a quad is a LOT.
Now lets wait while DJI removes range limit for they'r systems (6-7km now), there is news what new firmware will have no limit, lets hope its true! And WAIT!
@@jmcjmc5587 why do you need GPS for calculating latency? :D When latency get bigger they just limit max floating point and that's limits in range, approximately 6-7km in open field without obstacles.

Yes the system can measure approximativily the distance between goggle and air unit , simply by measuring the time between the bidirectional data transmission packet. Then perhaps you are right. It's effectively possible to apply a range limit without GPS. The system don't know where it is BUT it can calculate the distance between all the element of the system.
@@jmcjmc5587 correct, and when you are behind trees its normal to have lost, but i talk about clear of sight straight forward, long range with planes/wings, where latency is not that big an issue as long as your wing flight modes are set correctly. You just fly forward then back. 0-3 sec is not a big deal =)
Heavy whoops aren't worth it IMHO, even if you get a HD feed its flight characteristics would feel like crap - I'm basing this on my early days of underpowered brushed whoops and comparing them to today's brushless like my Mobula 6, which is so fun to fly. Have had some minor hiccups though, 6 of 12 GNB cells I received in the past week have puffed up after one or two flights, one new one even puffed up today before I even got to fly it...! :(
@Drones and Truth ! Interesting, I've always been told that puffed lipos should be safely discharged & disposed, but are 1S whoop cells really safer because they're smaller? I can't actually recall anyone say they've had a whoop lipo fire, it's virtually always been 3S & higher that have reportedly died in spectacular fashion.
I also have the same Rocket Lite and fly good, NOW...I just got a Cinebot30 O3 PNP from GEPRC and is the worst build I ever saw (almost $600), everything wrong in it, they just slapped the parts together and shipped, not fly or tested before ship. Just one of the problems, the USB, SD card and bind button...all 3 were inaccessible because they used an old Cinelog30 frame that is not compatible with the new DJI O3 Air unit...there are more problems, I will need completely disassemble and re assemble properly. Avoid GEPRC by all means, they went down hill.
They used to be good. I haven't gotten anything from them for a while but wouldn't be surprised if QC took a nose dive. All the companies are usually all over the place. Good for a time then bad then good.....
Just waiting for the inevitable digital competition as I'll not support DJI .They are involved in the FAA hoopla and not in a good way for us general hobbyists.
unfortunately i don't see a digital competitor being possible anytime soon. the system's dji had developed for this is very expensive to make....I agree with you but not sure we have a choice

@@chrismawson4430 it's the amperage requirements for us that make things really difficult. With the Tesla's and how much battery is in them, I don't think those cars are even beginning to stress the cells. Unless you try to race the car or something. But normal super charging and use is probably even more gentle on the cells than a cell phone.

The comment you made sometime back about how DJI HD changed how you flew, changing to more of an exploratory flying, is part of why I think some Lithium Ion action on micros could be a thing. Not flying balls out send it type stupid but rather cruising and just enjoying the HD. 3000mah 3s 18650 cpuld likely throw some real time on that sucker. Buuuut. I really dont want to buy DJI anything. Your comment about 1w analog breaking up and not working as well as the DJI digital is very telling. I saw Nurk do a comparison for multipathing and the DJI digital link was solid and performing where analog was a total mess. I hope somebody can compete in the digital scene against DJI because again, I dont want to buy DJI
@@Kabab i would likely buy a module system for using with like Fatshark or Orcas if it were available along with JUST a VTX that does certain things to prevent me from having to buy 150 dollar camera/vtx combos. But I dont want their bug eyed goggles along with all the other bloat much less whatever intrusive shit that might come along with an update.
Exactly, I need to see some competition and something that works the god goggles before I even think of switching. Also never going to buy anything DJI, between their absolute disregard for consumer right and their Apple like practices it's a no go. I want something I can trust to work in 2 years, not something I need to upgrade because they released a new version and are now shipping stripped down firmware for the old versions.

Yeah I realize I'm super nitpicking but overall it's good. I do wish they could allow the osd numbers to be moved so I can see them.

The cinebird is for 360 cams and the frame by betafpv or Rob FPV are much better and easier to use than the stanfpv design. Don't get any electronics from betafpv. It's all garbage with awful QC but some of the frames are fine. If you're planning to take apart gopro's, more power to you. It's a hassle to maintain an exploded gopro working platform but if you're up for it, you can squeeze through smaller spaces easier with it.
@@Kabab I have the Glide light and love it. I was just looking for a 2.5 - 3 inch non ducted for easy shots. If the Cine-bird flys wanky I guess it won't be at its best as a 3". I'll keep researching.

I think the plus is with the full size air unit? The lite is definitely better performing but if the HD video without any artifacts is important to you then the plus is for you

It'll likely be fine with a 1050 but with small platforms, if you're going for performance, less weight is usually the goal.
KababFPV many pilots use Tattu 4S 850mAh and the measure is not very different from 4S 1050
Is Caddx VISTA 720p and not 1080p...so its design plan is to match Goggle resolution... The price point is high when accounting for the down grade in capability. 1080p down to 720p, onboard 1080p recording vs DVR 720 and antenna limits range.
Micros are generally cheaper market segment, and still tag it with DJI and double margins...ugh

The biggest benefit to me is the physical size. It actually fits into most frames now and is WAY easier to design for.

And if we really need to stick to 250g auw in the future, well then DJI is gonna have a hard time fitting in with the added weight. We also don't know yet if we will see DJI goggle modules. @@junglistfpv8553 Yep it sure is. I came from EV800D's before I had my DJI's. My main worry was FOV and latency and after getting the DJI's neither were any issue. The FOV is much the same and can be wider if you switch the DJI's to 16:9 mode. The latency felt just as snappy so no issues there either. My EV800D's never let me down but I was not unhappy to see them go once I had tried the DJI's.

I got one, took off prop guards, put on avan mini 2.3 inch and I get 5.5 to 7 minutes casual to fast flying. Plus, I broke guard on first crash. Avan mini props nearly indestructible.
Lars. Look into lithium ion 18650 cells. Yes a 3 cell pack will weigh around 155g. But it will be packing around 3000mah and has the potential to triple flight times depending on setup/combo.
I have a heavier 3in drone I designed/built that was struggling to get more than 4min on a 3s 650 Lipo(landing at 3.8v per cell). I built a 2100mah 3s Lithium Ion and my first pack hit 11 min flight time landing at 3v per cell. Doubled my pack weight but trippled my flight time.
Lithium Ion has it's limitations, only a couple cells may deliver the current needed and they ONLY will take 1C max charge rate so they are slow to charge. But once you learn about them you cannot help but want to experiment a little bit.
A friend of mine got 19min on a tooth pick build with a 2100mah 3s. He said he was bored to death flying it because it doesnt lend itself to ripping.
But an HD setup that is super pretty to look at things and enjoy being a hummingbird(or maybe a big lazy moth) while flying for awhile while other packs are charging... that could be a thing.

@@Kabab It's one with original air unit. geprc.com/product/rocket-plus-dji-air-unit-hd-fpv/ . It's definitely heavier but we get 1080p. The weight difference is just 20g. I feel like it can go down to 10g if we replace the original antennas with whip antennas.

The dji software lets you actually choose what firmware you wanna use. You update the newest but you can also rollback to whatever.

Nice to see someone give some honest feedback about the shitty fitment of these goggles. pinchtune did as well, but most just gloss over it. No way i'm buying a bad fitting goggle. I still think fatshark owes me some face foam for my hdo2, cause that crap they shipped with them was a joke. That's some great range/penetration, but how's the latency? Do some fast proximity, see if you hit stuff.🤣 I'm always on the verge of slamming into a tree or getting stuck in a tree, so any added latency is a deal breaker.

range, multipath performance and penetration seems to be relatively good on digital compared to analogue but for real long range fpv, is digital currently viable? (the snob's 'long range' definition, not just pushing the limit of a tiny whoop lol). also have you seen the Newbeedrone Smoov 2306 motors? they have 1 ring magnet in the bell instead of 14 individual ones or whatever, seems interesting for fpv. we didn't do this normally because the individual magnets allowed us to use magnets of much higher strength than traditional small brushless motors a lot of which already have ring magnets, as you might have already seen but the method to magnetize a ring magnet makes it harder to make it stronger but if they could be as strong, it would mean a lot of advantages like magnets not slipping, airgap and efficiency etc. And NBDrone have made the ring magnet strength almost equivalent to the grade of a modern fpv motor, might be worth a look
the one magnet ring is quite interesting. last I checked it was really hard to do that with strong magnets. As for the long range thing, yeah I don't think I'd use DJI for long range still but it's definitely capable of it. It's just not as easy to read what's happening with your video when you're on digital. It doesn't drop off instantly but if you're not paying attention you can miss the signals.
You can go out up to 4miles. After that you get abrupt signal loss. It could go further, if DJI fixes it. It´s some kind of timing issue in software.

As far as we know, it´s actually a firmware issue. But it´s doubtful if DJI will ever fix this, since flying that far away is in nearly every country illegal. But hey, 4 miles one way on a quad is a LOT.

Don't think there's a range limit. There's no GPS inside the VTX.
@@jmcjmc5587 why do you need GPS for calculating latency? :D When latency get bigger they just limit max floating point and that's limits in range, approximately 6-7km in open field without obstacles.

Yes the system can measure approximativily the distance between goggle and air unit , simply by measuring the time between the bidirectional data transmission packet. Then perhaps you are right. It's effectively possible to apply a range limit without GPS. The system don't know where it is BUT it can calculate the distance between all the element of the system.
@@jmcjmc5587 correct, and when you are behind trees its normal to have lost, but i talk about clear of sight straight forward, long range with planes/wings, where latency is not that big an issue as long as your wing flight modes are set correctly. You just fly forward then back. 0-3 sec is not a big deal =)

Heavy whoops aren't worth it IMHO, even if you get a HD feed its flight characteristics would feel like crap - I'm basing this on my early days of underpowered brushed whoops and comparing them to today's brushless like my Mobula 6, which is so fun to fly. Have had some minor hiccups though, 6 of 12 GNB cells I received in the past week have puffed up after one or two flights, one new one even puffed up today before I even got to fly it...! :(

@Drones and Truth ! Interesting, I've always been told that puffed lipos should be safely discharged & disposed, but are 1S whoop cells really safer because they're smaller? I also have the same Rocket Lite and fly good, NOW...I just got a Cinebot30 O3 PNP from GEPRC and is the worst build I ever saw (almost $600), everything wrong in it, they just slapped the parts together and shipped, not fly or tested before ship. Just one of the problems, the USB, SD card and bind button...all 3 were inaccessible because they used an old Cinelog30 frame that is not compatible with the new DJI O3 Air unit...there are more problems, I will need completely disassemble and re assemble properly. Avoid GEPRC by all means, they went down hill.
They used to be good. I haven't gotten anything from them for a while but wouldn't be surprised if QC took a nose dive. All the companies are usually all over the place. Good for a time then bad then good.....
Just waiting for the inevitable digital competition as I'll not support DJI .They are involved in the FAA hoopla and not in a good way for us general hobbyists.

@@chrismawson4430 it's the amperage requirements for us that make things really difficult. With the Tesla's and how much battery is in them, I don't think those cars are even beginning to stress the cells. Unless you try to race the car or something. But normal super charging and use is probably even more gentle on the cells than a cell phone.

The comment you made sometime back about how DJI HD changed how you flew, changing to more of an exploratory flying, is part of why I think some Lithium Ion action on micros could be a thing. Not flying balls out send it type stupid but rather cruising and just enjoying the HD. 3000mah 3s 18650 cpuld likely throw some real time on that sucker.
