Damn. Justin always bringing us his "A" game with these amazing reviews. I love the channel and what you bring to the table. Congrats and keep up the awesome work mate.
Thanks for the review! I have the Rocket Plus and it flies great! But I often get the “SD card slow” error on the Air Unit recording (about 4 out of 5 packs). I have tried 2 different SD cards both are the recommended Sandisk Extreme U3 class. I’m also on the latest 0600 firmware. Any ideas? I tried to record 720P instead and the issue was gone. But that doesn’t solve the problem for good :(
I ordered this and just noticed the Thinking P16. I hope I don’t make a mistake. Curious what the performance and size differences are. I’ll be ripping around the house mostly.
Great video. I know this video is old by todays standards but this looks like something that is a high quality quad for someone like me. I'm a beginner FPV wanabe. I know nothing about anything on these Quads except for maybe installing the batteries. I've been looking at a few cheaper beginner FPV starter kits but am not impressed by the video quality that seems very important to me to see as clear as possible. This quad has the kind of quality build I've been looking for and with the shrouded props, it's what I need. Is this still a good way to go now in 2023 (almost)? I've done a lot of research on the DJI V2 googles and that seems like a great set to me. Below in your links you show a DJI goggle /controller Air combo. Would it be better for beginners like me to get the DJI RC controller with the V2 goggles now to control this drone?
Depends on how much money you want to spend. Sure you can start with the full package such as, DJI drone, goggles, and remote....but you will still need batteries and charger, and it's an expensive beginning to the hobby. Either way, there is a lot to learn, but you can go cheaper but there is more of a learning curve on that route. Ill say this much, what you put into it, is exactly what you will get out of it. Luckily with all the videos on youtube, you can pretty much get yourself in the air. Just remember, you might have to spend A LOT of time learning and researching, but I found that the most fun. The hobby is quite a challenge, but we all start at the same place...Just be ready to make a commitment to you finding the information and treat it like only you can teach yourself. You can do it if you really want it, just don't give up. Hope this helps.
@@PopeyeFPV Thx for the reply and advice. I hear what u r saying and that advice needs to be followed by people new to rc and to drones. I have 8 choppers and about 2 grand of batteries and chargers sitting in a room from the last 30 years of flying them. With them, I always found the most expensive blades and parts usually made for better flying. With drones, I'm pretty much going for videos and surveillance of my property and neighborhood. Nothing fancy. I'm not even considering the flying of a drone to be a challenge compared to my choppers, since like with my choppers, I used my flight sim on a regular basis. This is the most important thing a new rc pilot should use in any high dollar aircraft. I spent thousands of dollars back in the 70's crashing heliboys. These flight sims are the single most important thing that was ever invented for rc planes, choppers and drones. I've been following the concept and development of the FPV drone flying for over 20 years and was waiting for this time when they finally have good range and much better video capabilities. And now people like me have another huge plus factor for learning from people like you that put out all these great YT vids. People today don't know how lucky they are for having all this help and things like flight sims.
Hi Justin, Great video - as always ! I want to buy a Geprc quad, but I‘m not sure about which one to go for. I want to fpv around in the way shown in this video, and I‘m not interested in racing or in freestyle, i.e. I‘m only really interested in smooth relaxing flying in stability mode. Can you advise ?
Hey Justin can you tell me where to put the rx/tx on the board . I bought the dolphin 🐬 gep rc but I wanna add the air unit to my 4” . I got it to work full osd but not at the same time as uart 2 for sbus thanks for any help
Hello, can you tell me what flight controller and motors I need for this build, I have an air unit and ordered a frame so I need the rest. Thanks in sdvance
I've a spare Air Unit not in use and am looking to capture some footage at the local BMX/Skate park. So many nice looking whoops ... your newer video says the Cinego is the best, is that still the case?
Would you also suggest the rocket for indoor flying? i am kind of a new fpv pilot, i fly a 5 inch quad with angle only atm, and i am looking for something to fly indoors (as well as outdoors), but also capable of carrying an Air Unit, i order to improve my skills.
I've been having a problem with mine I haven't found a solution for. I love flying this thing but I've been using my 3" cinewhoop to record video. I'd really like to record with this quad but how the heck do you access the sd card slot or plug in the air unit without taking the prop guards off? I could just run w/o prop guards but they didn't include the right size screws. I guess I will take off a prop guard every time I want to insert/take out the sd card?
Ugh, what a mess. So it is upside down, but apparently they're doing that to run zip ties through the grooves of the air unit and the top plate. which is actually pretty nice. but foolish me cut them to try and flip it, prop guards were still in the way?? put it back the way it was and just can't get those zip ties as tight as they were... now my air unit is tilted slightly forward. not worth it. just take prop guards off to change sim card :/
I chose the RocketPlus as well. I feel like I've been waiting forever to get it. I do understand the ground situation with corona is the root cause of this. I would be awesome if GEPRC and FlyWoo had US distributors. Thanks for the video!
Justin at least you could‘ve cleaned 🧼 the drone before presenting it 🤦🏻♂️. My drone is always clean, then these chicks come up to me & ask what are you flying there? It looks superb! (My drone looks like a combat drone, VCT-75X Canopy). I‘m waiting for summer where they wear mini skirts then I‘ll ask them to push the button to start/stop recording (using the diamond VTX) so they‘ll have to bend over 😉 they don’t go down on their knees 🤣🤣🤣. I do have a question tho, I‘m using the Fatshark attitude V2 & where you screw on the antenna is strange, I bent it a bit too hard (don’t know my strength sometimes) now I get distortions sometimes or no screen, do you know how I could repair it? I‘m planning to get the HD0 II soon but not just right now so I have to use the one I have. Great review & as always take care.
This looks a great fpv drone to start off with in fpv. I've flown lots of dji drones looking at getting into fpv. Would you recommend this or the nazgul5 4s hd to start off with?

I believe Cinewhoops (capable quads like this one) are going to be the future of a "hassle-free" hobby. Remote ID is coming and I believe it will leave a sour taste in all our mouths'. I'm just starting the hobby (moved from RC Helis to Camera Drones and now here). I purchased 5 and 7 inch models for my fleet, and looking back, wish I would have just invested with this footprint.
@@MacSide01 I felt the same way with my favorite quad being a 7" so I got a cinewhoop. After flying it a while I took off the ducts deciding they were a waste of time and energy. I felt like my head was going to explode just slowly floating around becomes boring to me pretty quickly, I like the effortless speed of flying the big stuff much better! If you want some prop protection and to bounce off stuff a little I think these little prop guards are a lot better than the giant ducts that I went with.
@@MacSide01 Fair enough mate, in my opinion the performance just isn't there. I will be flying till 5 inch till my first fine, at least! Could you make a comparison with iflight DC2
Would you still recommend this one or is there something else better now that's similar that will work with the dji fpv right out of the box ?

Thanks for the review! Which props could I buy for replacement? I can't seem to find the original props..
Really nice one, very curious about the iFlight DC2 as well.,very similar.

Would it be possible to use a Lion 3000mAh battery for extended flight time ?
How much does the 850mAH battery add to flight time? 3-4min is kind of a bummer
If you remove the prop guards can you put 2.5 inch props on it?
