Get away from them is the best answer. I’ve had this struggle, but my issue was that a person close to me was too closely connected to them. I don’t even know the right words to express what a sociopath actually is like. It’s a mess filled with so many lies you mentally cannot keep track of them. Everything will be muniplulated and you will be munipulated yourself into thinking you are the issue. You’re the reason why things are happening. You did something wrong that lead to this persons behavior. While they are trying to convince you of that they are telling other people stories about you to turn them against you. They are telling you, you can’t trust those other people for such and such reasons. You don’t know who to trust. You trust no one. It takes time for people to convince you why you should have faith in them. As they are telling people things about you they make up things other people say so you can argue with them. They can turn around and tell them, you see this person is an issue. They use people for their personal gain. They control. They lack remorse for what they do and say. They are convincing. You also believe them at some point and time until you realize something all wrong is going on. They play on your fears when they can. They play on them so you can trust them. They then use that trust to manipulate you. They use your hurt to further hurt you. You can’t do anything about it. They are so good at lying and munipulating it doesn’t matter what you say. They are charming. People believe them. What you must do is stay away. Stay far away. That’s the only actual way you can help yourself.

  • @lindabrown-terrell1128
    @lindabrown-terrell1128 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

Yes, I totally agree with you about the best way to deal with them is not deal with them at all. You can not rewire their brains. You can not talk sense into their heads. They just don't get it. They are like demons. Hoping to hurt you and see you fail. They are not sympathetic. They don't care about you being in emotional pain caused by them. No sense of empathy. These people are very cold inside, but appear to be very charming on the outside. Some people may even say they are wicked. They have two faces. Do not attach to them. I don't care who they are husband, wife, mother, sister, boss, brother or friend don't attach, get away. Keep your business and anything they can use as a tool to hurt you away from them. Most of the time you don't know they are a sociopath until you become involved with them by that time they have enough amo to make your life miserable. If they are around your friends or boss they will sabotage the relationships by lying on you or twist small things. My advice is get away quickly if you continue to deal with them knowing that they are sick, be prepared to go down a dark path. God bless anybody that deals with one. It takes a sharp eye to see them in the beginning. Sometimes we only see what we want to see until we just get sick and tired and are forced to examine WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON.

Most Sociopaths that I have met are pretty intelligent people but also pretty short sighted. They can't seem to really plan anything. I noticed that this inability to plan is what drives them to control everyone and everything. It's as if they are blind people trying to keep the world from changing on them.

Several times, the script implies that 'sociopath' and 'psychopath' mean the same. They don''t. Being a psychopath is a neurological disorder, and there is no known cure. A sociopath becomes that way as a result of life experiences which traumatised them. It may be possible to cure a sociopath, but they are averse to therapy

I found this stunning, shockingly familiar. I had an adopted sibling, seven years older, who was one. As a child I learned at a deep, unconscious level most of these coping tactics, and only in later life began to understand what I was doing and why - To avoid harm to myself from a sinister personality. It wasn't conscious, thus my coping tools were imperfect and not consistently employed. It would have been pure salvation for me to have this information, given by a respected authority, when I was very young.
I don't know if ordinary people, especially in their younger years, could understand and make use of the defenses suggested here, but it might save their lives both literally and figuratively.

Recently the sociopath stopped talking to me, I am thankful but afraid that this person might just be plotting a revenge against me, my children or my husband. Do note though that the PSYCHOPATH has NO empathy at all. The SOCIOPATH does have a semblance of empathy or even genuine empathy at times but is predominantly self-interested. That is why the sociopath does so well.
However, I would be cautious about 15:00 No.5 "Get Professional Help' as a last resort. It is probably best to find a close trusted friend or relation from the extended family as you do not, unwittingly, want to find yourself trapped in a 'system' that can be equally sociopathic! This video was quite informative, thank you. I have a sociopath female neighbour that hates me, and has been harassing me now for 12 years which is when I bought my home. I made the mistake of introducing myself when I moved in, big big mistake. I could tell there was something not quite right about her and I didn't want anything to do with her. That has made her angry, and she hasn't given up hurting me in every which way she can. I have police files, loads of them now. I have rescue dogs who I of course love, and I think she has thrown poisoned food for my dogs. They had all the signs of being poisoned, the vet suspects Warfin was used. My dogs are both German Shepherds and thank goodness they are large as it probably would have killed my 11 lb dog.
A few months ago, my tires were slashed while parked in my own driveway. I have been putting up with this type of behaviour for 12 years, hoping it would stop or she would move. Hasn't happened. This female neighbour, a few weeks ago, yelled out a sexual scenario in which I am the key character. In this scenario I am being sexually tortured to the point where I am truly suffering. I found it to be quite disturbing and upsetting, but I showed no feelings or responded in any way. She was literally yelling this at me, she was so out of control.
Why would she, in her mind, create a sexually violent scenario with myself as the person being violated? I absolutely don't get it.
Is this neighbour a possible psychopath?

If you are not on our list of those we love, or God forbid are on our list of people we specifically don’t like, stay away from us. People I specifically don’t like would do well to avoid me like the plague.

I recently "lost" a relationship with a narcissist. We are called their supply, not girlfriend. I was vulnerable and sweet. He started going places with me. I had someone to talk to! and spend quality time with! I frequently gave him compliments and support. I was having a great time being in a relationship. One day, a woman we both knew stopped and told him how important he was in the art room, how his stories are so interesting (NOT TRUE). His stories are repetitive and boring. He and I were just friends but seemingly very good friends. We got around by walking and bus. This new supply has a car and she took him on a day trip and other places. I didn't hear from him in three weeks. It was very painful for me but he never felt a second of sadness for the loss of me in his life. When I was discovering and learning things on TH-cam I heard a woman say "if you are in relationship with a narcisst I can tell you how it is going to end. A new supply will come along and he will disappear, no contact for an extended period of time. No phone calls which had been frequent. He won't have any feelings of loss. He will mention things they do together just to hurt you. They like to get a rise or sadness out of you. I could say much more. They have a sense of entitlement including other's stuff. I let him use my computer to buy stuff, he would pay me upfront, Payments were paid through Paypal. One day when he was at my place I was busy cooking or washing dishes and he blatantly was looking at my passwords. I trusted him and thought nothing but curiosity. He went to his multi use phone and used my password to buy things. from ebay. It still doesn't seem so terrible as it could have been much worse. I changed my password, though. He had been a great manipulator and still was. Many more instances. He never missed an opportunity to say something that took the wind out of my sails. I recently met my granddaughter's boyfriend and saw narcissistic traits in him, even instant anger. Her self esteem is low. I asked other family members how they felt about this guy and it was all favorable. In this instance it could be a matter of life and death for her. The sudden bursts of anger when what he says isn't taken as true and your opinion is not true. . Oh dear. She has been with him 3 yrs and they will be moving in together.

I know my daughter is a sociopath and she definitely lacks respect for me and sympathy. She's going on 32....not a teen, although, that time was a bundle of joy (NOT). It hurts me that we're estranged, and I feel guilty. I've been diagnosed with a liver disease and she couldn't care less how she treats me. I stopped talking to her, because it's just too emotionally and, now, physically draining.

Recording a conversation "secretly" is legal in MOST states, as long as you are a participant in the conversation, from what I understand. but yes, if you feel you need to record a conversation, check the laws in your state... there are a couple of instances where this might be truly necessary... if you need to establish some kind of abuse going on in order to protect your child from an abusive co-parent and need to cut them off or limit contact to your child... courts simply do not believe without proof or admission... a lot of people make the mistake of going to "authorities" for help thinking they will simply be believed, but you will NOT be given much help without physical evidence or a conversation with the abuser admitting to something or showing their true colors in some significant way, all that might happen is the person will be questioned, but there will be no consequences.. the other instance would be if you are being harassed at work... usually, there is some kind of sexual harrassment going on, but there could be something else going on at work, possibly attempts to coerce you to do or cover up or cooperate with something illegal, for example. If you do not have proof of some sort, a corraborative witness, video or audio recording etc... you just "saying" what you've experienced is highly unlikely to be simply believed. Well, someone might believe you, but they cannot do much to help you. I happen to know of a lot of situations where women (it can happen to men too) were sexually harrassed and then they think they can just go report this to whomever or file a lawsuit and they get nowhere because it simply boils down to one person's word against anothers. But, again, it is not always something sexual going on... this just seems to be common.

Telling a socio/psychopath ypur too smart for them is going to be taken as a threat, insult, or challenge. None of which are what you want someone lacking empathy or morality, depending on wich disorder, to think. Also just because you 'cuaght' them dosnt mean your smarter. Most likely your not.

This video is very informative, however there is quite a bit of difference between sociopaths and narcissist. While narcissist are on the sociopath spectrum, the way they behave and are triggered at work and home are quite different. Most of the characteristics described here is a narcissist. The number one thing to take from this is all three Sociopaths, Narcissist and Psychopaths target both empaths and dark empaths. Reading up and learning about all five will help assist in how to react and how to handle situations.
    I extremely important to note:
Dark empaths are less likely to feel like victims and will more often times than not be the tools/enablers used to batter empaths. So dont let this fool you. When youre marked by someone in the sociopath spectrum, but the attacks come from their family or spouses. Just know this is whats happening. Dark empaths will sense something is off and may not understand, but it will always be about themselves and how to maneuver themselves. Ultimately sociopaths and dark empaths hold longer relationships than empaths, due to the fact their empath nature enables while their dark nature is codependent with the toxicity. This will explain a lot of what you see around you every day in friends, family and in the news.
Those who are on the sociopathic spectrum are not always the killers. As long as theyre in control of the situation its more psychological.
Empaths will assertively and strategically remove themselves from the toxicity. While a dark empath is hell bent on revenge and are more likely to snap.

ALSO, they are probably faking their emotions in reality most of them hate to be at the center and are usually sad most of the day. TRY TO BE NICE FOR ONCE

Yep, I was sucked in by a highly intelligent sociopath for five years. It was amazing how attached and difficult it was for me to detach. Of course, he had me so entangled in his life, that did not help. Being "in love" with an illusion of what someone was (when playing you) is a hard pill to swallow. He did not just hurt my heart, he hurt my entire life and future and finances. I did see red flags, and I'm sorry SO SORRY that I did not respect them and dump him early on in the relationship. He fits 95% of the covert narc & sociopath criteria and was, or still is, one grandiose story teller, a conn artist, and force of destruction on people's lives. It doesn't happen overnight, his games can play out for years before the bomb goes off. It will take me years to recover from the agendas, theft and pain he inflicted. ONE MORE THING: he often, for years told me he would kill himself before ever doing anything to hurt me.. because of how much I did for him, and how much he loved me. So, why the Hell is he still alive? (just thinking he should keep a promise). I can't say enough bad things about that man and how sorry I am for my involvement with him and his "followers" (his kids and the few friends he hasn't burned) and his replacement "source" that I also trusted. I'd like to feel sorry for her, but I don't. She's already his victim, just refuses to believe it.. yet.

Had this person figured out sooo wrong. Let him into my life as a helper and paid his way and expenses to help me move and repair my house for sale and he was to take drivers test to drive moving truck. After expense of flying him here him here in states learned how wacko he was. Said he just put his wife in mental hospital and was divorcing and going to find a young Asian girl/woman to have non stop sex with. He had his children removed by CPS years ago and believed he was victimized, and had 4 kids he longed for. Learned he was diagnosed as mentally ill and thought they did that as part of CPS trauma against family. Who hasn't heard about kids going to foster homes where they end up in sex trade.
He was furious at the social workers, doctors, and frankly nurses who were involved, and I was a Government nurse for Aging persons but he apparently marked me as one of the evil doers in his case and really did some awful stuff and I had already made myself vulnerable telling him too much about my move, my life. Such a fool was I. He said he had devised 41 ways to kill a social worker and asked if I wanted to hear about them. So after he left with some of my valuable property and utterly took over and messed up my move, costing me a lot, he hid my things at neighbors where I rented and gave them story I was mentally ill and had been in prison. They didn't know me. (Wife likely was set up and he had her in a mental hospital in Thailand). Such a story could write a book.
He cannot get back to Thailand and hope he gets arrested there if he does. He lied about having a degree in education and worked in school with no college credit. He planned to visit his now grown children in WA state where the state officials live whom he said he planned to meet with some people. I called the police there and told them what he had told me about his anger at the social workers primarily, about what he said.
Damn feel so stupid but was so vulnerable and had been gang stalked for six years. Thought our last time together he was helper and honest. Know realize where my new MSU sweatshirt went. LOL.
He lives with his mother who I talk with periodically and she says he has been a liar and thief just like his father as long as she has known him. Told her she has my valuable stolen property, a valuable bisque doll an old friend who had antique shop gave to me needed to sell for fixing my house. He has it. Plan to call antique shops in area and send photo to see if they have seen it. But he was really classic, but likely more conniving and no empathy, and more psychotic. His last night there he had my female Yorkie he took from my room when I showered. I could hear him groaning and breathing heavily and noticed Rose was not in the room. When she came back her vulva was swollen and bled heavily for a few days. Likely digital but so damn sick, he was such a gamer.
I came from dysfunctional family with parents mentally ill and learned to overlook things that were not minor. Dear, when will I learn. Am 75 now and seems born idiot. My kids stole from me too and are sociopathic persons attacking me with lies to courts to keep from being prosecuted. Did not deserve this.
