Despite the game only has 500MB size, it gave me fun feeling from TXR used to be but now working as crew to takeover with some strategic of racing with rivas around the city, plus 200 rivals with identity included made this game interesting with another run for replay value with other crews
This game had the weirdest yet creative rival so far, like an Evo tank? Knight Rider? What? Also I love the "loading" seemingless transition in the menu.
Oh I forgot. In SB Zone of Control I sometimes barely got stuck in its loading screen and probably this bug didn't appear on Street Supremacy and I somehow save my game first before doing anything that cause this to happen...
Once you're the team leader you can choose to not pick other racers for your invasion and go against all 5 opponents on your own. I'm pretty sure if you're the last (or only) racer in line, the bonus payout for a team battle win is 500k per opponent instead of 100k. I used to grind crazy money like this.
If there is one thing I do like from this it's the team management, I love games that incorporate teams like this. Great video as always Dove and props to Sharicite for editing this one, always a pleasure seeing more TXR content on this channel.
Team management mechanics are always a welcome addition to any racing game. Need for Speed Carbon, Juiced 1 and Street Supremacy all featured crew management and they were all the better for it. I think if Rockstar Games continued making Midnight Club games then they would have eventually tried their own take on crew management in Midnight Club 4 or 5.
@@CyanRooper I liked the team management in Carbon, the fact that you can modify your crews cars was nice as well. It's the little things that made it fun.

The PSP's biggest drawback was its controls which the PS Vita almost fixed (having two analogue sticks was great but it still needed pressure sensitive triggers for racing games). Idc what the critics said, this game was an addiction, sure the game modes are boring and repetitve, but what makes the game fun and addicting was the team rumble mode, where you can dominate other territory once you become that said leader on your team. Wangan Midnight Portable, it is basically Shutokou Battle: Zone of Control/Street Supremacy, but featuring some cars/characters exclusively from Wangan Midnight. It's also has VS Players ad-hoc mode while Shutokou Battle: Zone of Control doesn't have that (only Street Supremacy version that has this feature).
One thing I can say though is that Street Supremacy did something unique that most racers today don't even do now. When was the last time you see an Evo with a military aesthetic or a Skyline with a Gundam bodykit? It also brings to a new side of TXR since you get to be a part of a team. One thing I would say that Street Supremacy was kind of lacking in terms of content, like yeah it's a PSP game but there were things that could have been implemented to make the game more tense, be it your crew members are leaving you, damage system, gambling, or the police. Granted, I had my fun with Street Supremacy, it also sparked my love for the JDM cars, especially the FD with an RE Amemiya kit. Overall, good video!
Just picked this game back up about 2 months ago and love it also. I grew up playinging Tokyo Extreme racer on ps2 and just glad this game is getting a light on it
Remember randomly picking this game up as a kid knowing nothing about it, such a sick game that no one else i knew had played, glad to find this video all these years later!
Thus make this game is the most easiest Shutokou Battle/TXR game to complete because you don't have to find the rivals. They always be appears/waiting on their areas.
Game is a big nostalgia to me, excluding livery 20 [carbon hood], back then i used to think i can unlock special liveries like team leader but no. I haven't found a way to do it, seems like limited to custom car in time attack mode. But man this game is a nostalgia
The reason why the economy seems so inflated is because it’s using the Yen money system. It can seem confusing buts it easy to understand. - 5million yen is equivalent to $48,000 USD. - 500,000 yen is equivalent to $4800 USD -50,000 yen is equivalent to $480 -500yen is equivalent to $48 USD. -50 yen is equivalent to $4 -5yen is equivalent to $0.04
I prefer the Japanese version of it (Shutokou Battle: Zone of Control) due the fact that game features the Japanese license plate number just like in Shutokou Battle Zero & Shutokou Battle 01(TXR 3). But if you want to play the VS Players (multi-player mode) just like Wangan Midnight Portable, then pick Street Supremacy version.
Since the Tokyo extreme racer sequel is confirmed, I would really love genki to port this and the other txr series to pc. this was my game of childhood and I've been having a hard time finding the copy
I somehow prefer the original name "Shutokou Battle: Zone of Control" over "Street Supremacy". For 1st playthrough, Just pick any starter car you want(Not that it matters) because once you conquered like 50% of them. You better off with those AWD monsters like Lan Evo 8, Impreza GDB Spec C, R34 GT-R(Recommended with maxed weight reduction). NSX from "Custom Cars Dealership" also a great choice if you willing to spend around 8million if memory served right. Those 4 cars i mentioned are somehow(i tested beforehand) the best cars either for technical course like C1 or top speed Highway like Wangan. Still, I won't hold you back from using FR's like FC RX-7, Silvia S14 or Supra JZA80. Truly a fun game, The only drawbacks are: - No Restart/Retry so if you're messed up then you quit the race, watching the teams map update info(which is time wasting) then you can race them back. - Cannot personalize "Custom Cars". You cannot change the colors or rims of "Driver with No Name" S30 Z, Jintei JGTC R34, or the NSX to even imitates the "Wanderers" cars which is sucks. - Things get super easy on NG+, Every rivals feels like pushover and, You can easily farm money when you solo-ing team battle. Instead of bringing allies, You goes "One man band" and earn 500k for each race(there's 5 round so you gained 2.5million at the very least).
Had completed this game before, but I played the original Japanese one rather despite language barrier. But still understand the buttons a little and I even had made few videos on this game on my channel and I kinda liked this game tho as it combines NFS Carbon's system with the usual TXR system as well
And I'm pretty sure Genki also make another racing game called Wangan Midnight Portable and that game was my most beloved Genki PSP game besides Street Supremacy being my second beloved Genki game. Also after had tried out this game now it's time for me to try out the PS2 TXR games next and so the TXR Drift games too. And another reason I started this game instead of TXR is because its handling are a bit good
What makes difference between Street Supremacy version and Shutokou Battle : Zone of Control version are the license plate numbers (In SB Zone of Control version features Japanese license plate, while in Street Supremacy version depends on US or EU versions have US/EU style license plate numbers), other one is that SB Zone of Control doesn't have VS Players (Multi-player mode) that feature is only available for Street Supremacy version.
@@metaliczic96 I understand with the differences between those two versions, and yeah I already noticed myself about the plate in SB Zone of Control is pretty different, and yeah multiplayer wasn't there and I would have been playing Street Supremacy and try out multiplayer, but I don't have anyone to play with and that is why I played SB Zone of Control...
@NaufalHS Yeah. But i prefer SB Zone of Control version due to the Japanese license plate feature. It feels weird if we are racing in Japanese Shuto Expressway/Wangan with US/EU style license plate because it feels like out of place to me. Small details but still important. Plus, we can learn the meaning of the Japanese license plate number from all Shutokou Battle game series.
@@metaliczic96 I also like SB Zone of Control so much because of that license plate indeed too. And of course it doesn't made any sense for racing in Japanese roads or expressways and highways with different license plates. And the last part yeah of course indeed too 👍
I have way too many hours in this game😅 Would change the team system a bit. Your team gets too powerfull in no time. Maybe just pick 1 or 2 opponents after taking the Area. And dont have all Members available when attacking. Only the Members surrounding the attacked Area. Its not that easy to solve but i really like the concept of this game and would love to see something similar in the future.
Hey I have this game on PPSSPP! This game is an amazing street racing game, GENKI was way ahead of it's time. First, I know you're going to say that the cars are limited, not alot of cars but who cares? You can get the wanderer's unique looking cars like the Night wolf's Knight Rider, Dream cloud's NSX, Hard weapon's Evo tank and Unknown's S30Z. Not only that, but recruiting POWERFUL wanderers into your team is an amazing feeling because now it's easier to dominate the Tokyo highway. Also, the bodykits look GODLY. They're aggressive, makes you look powerful on the highway and.. that's pretty much it. If you're looking for a street racing game for PSP, Street supremacy is highly and I mean.. HIGHLY recommended. Also also, Lamenting Pluto's a weeb. Just saying.
Pluto using an itasha WRX is certainly a design choice, I'll say. A stark contrast from the purple cosmic-themed GTs and sedans like the Soarer, Celsior, and Verossa.
He also forgot to mention you can actually complete the game without being the team leader ie. Simply help the team Boss to invade/defend the territory (plus it got a different ending scene as well)
@@4storyboss it's more of a secret ending than "another option" especially since completing the game without being the leader takes longer time than normal playthrough
@@ruugrime oh i didn't know that, i tought it is impossible since when i tried that i always stuck with dominating 8 areas and 2 other crew left, even with strong crew like no loser and unlimited
For some reason, some of the boss cars are really good but some are so badddd. All Ears and Rolling Man 1 comes to mind for bad bosses. I don't reccomend them to be used at all even if you become leader and selecting racers when takeovers happen. Heck even Highway Magician and Fighting Nemoto are better than All Ears (mostly because they use NOS and for some reason none of the bosses use NOS). But for some reason all of the boss cars also have magical accelerations that even beat high level Wanderers. Such a weird mechanic. Also, the hardest teams in my opinion to invade in your first playthrough are Speed Master, No Loser or, R.R. Mostly because they are straight line orientated. But, they can be easily defeated by an R34 or in fact any car above the starter car.
As long as you know what their requirements are before they can join your team. For example, to recruit "Grief Pluto," you must win the race against him without NOS installed on your car. To recruit "Midnight Silver Wolf," you must win the race against him cleanly (no hitting the wall, his car, and the traffic cars).
The only annoying part of this game I experience is in almost all of my playthrough I would always witness how certain teams like Highway Outlaws and No Loser gobbles up their respective corner of of the map, turning the whole invasion mechanic into a three-way power struggle before I could even takeover my starting team 7/10 times out of all my playthroughs.
Genki in psp same developer for Wangan midnight psp, i mean street supremacy is not bad... why in wangan midnight so weird handling, So after playing and comparing the two games, I prefer Street Supremacy for better handling and modifiyng.
I LOVE THIA GAME SO MUCH!!! THAT THE LAST GAME BEFORE MY PSP R.I.P WAS THIA GAME SO MUCH GOOD THAT I STILL HAVE THIA IN MY PPSSPP EMULATOR ❤❤❤ IN MY PHONE
The previous localized TXR games deflate the currency to make it resemble the USD while the original Japanese Shutokou games are based on JPY. This is a problem on TXR3 since theres 2 wanderers that had their current challenge requirements that're completely unchanged form the original Japanese ver which is virtually impossible to obtained unless if you cheat the money So they decide to kept the original currency (JPY) left intact/unchanged in Street Supremacy
Ey, im also currently replaying this game. I wanted to beat the game as all the teams. And this was the first txr game i properly finished back then. I actually played this on the psp and now again on ppsspp. Its then i started to notice some stuff about this game's team battles. For starters, if you decide to watch your team member's races its actually a coin flip most of the time. This means that the game like decides who will win the race and rig it so that the racer who will lose will always slow down or keep pace behind their rival. Best way to notice this when racers who launch quickly just bogs down after or when the lead car crashes and the losing racer overtakes, they will slow down to a crawl to make sure they get reovertaken. Makes it slightly infuriating to watch yet oddly entertaining although i had two exceptions. Sometimes, if the lead car crashes hard and has difficulties recovering (like lets say they crash into the toll booth at yokohane) the losing car will slow down to a crawl as usual, except either when it gets a good distance in the lead or is near the finish. Its the only instance where the game's rigging doesnt work. Edit: and oh yeah, some FR cars in this game are very hard to control, i just built an 86 in NG+ for rolling guys and it likes to spin out, that is except if you play on manual transmission, it makes it far easier to control the cars from spinning if you just shift earlier.
The earlier FR cars (Trueno AE86, S30 Z-LL, and NB Miata) are quite tricky to drive. I guess it's had anything to do with the lightweight(Below 800kg i believe) when maxed out.
It's a portable game... It do not mean to have full exactly like PS2 game. It supposed to be quick and fun like Gran Turismo. But i still think Gran Turismo PSP still deserves wayy better then what we get And Street Supremacy is probably my first ever emulator game that i somehow managed to finish it. Like most of my emulator game i never managed to finish it but this game. The way it keep pull me back in and ask "please play me again, you still have some territory that you haven't managed to conquer yet" or basically it so addicting
I'd like this game a bit more if the sense of speed were better (it feels quite slow, and it being almost as easy as ITC doesn't help either). Wangan Midnight PSP was also based on this game's engine and reused a lot of this game's assets, which might explain why it feels worse to play compared to the PS2 and PS3 versions (the former was more overtly arcade-oriented being a literal arcade game port, whereas the latter has some interesting things like engine overheating and having to manage revs; I'd say WM PS3 is a very interesting game overall tbh). EDIT: Alongside bosses, certain team leaders from the teams not present in this game (i.e. Outstanding Jackal of RINGS and Texas Wolf of Team Alpha) appear as wanderers, which is a nice touch (ITC did something similar with Wolf Requiem and Shepherd Nekozawa both being wanderers as Wind Stars and Miracle Dogs respectively canonically disbanding).
Amazing video bro but imma be real, I just watched 59 second of this video then I went and downloaded it. Thanks lil bro I appreciate this game recommendation
The millions of the "credits" doesn't make sense at first glance, until you realize it is like the Japanese Yen. Which is why you see millions for a new R34 at the time of the game... Of course today the used car prices for those cars are out of this world and completely out of touch with reality for nearly all JDM icons.
With how basic the game is and has that usual madness you'd expect in a Shutokou Battle game, you can literally beat everyone with the basic starter cars and still come up on top.
Despite the game only has 500MB size, it gave me fun feeling from TXR used to be but now working as crew to takeover with some strategic of racing with rivas around the city, plus 200 rivals with identity included made this game interesting with another run for replay value with other crews

I bought a PSP just for this game back in the day
Genki in psp same developer for Wangan midnight psp, i mean street supremacy is not bad... why in wangan midnight so weird handling, So after playing and comparing the two games, I prefer Street Supremacy for better handling and modifiyng.
I bought a Retroid Pocket specifically to play TXR series on the go
I LOVE THIA GAME SO MUCH!!! THAT THE LAST GAME BEFORE MY PSP R.I.P WAS THIA GAME SO MUCH GOOD THAT I STILL HAVE THIA IN MY PPSSPP EMULATOR ❤❤❤ IN MY PHONE
I played the game twice, its damn good
I used to play alot midnight club back then but now I kinda wanna try this game out
The previous localized TXR games deflate the currency to make it resemble the USD while the original Japanese Shutokou games are based on JPY. This is a problem on TXR3 since theres 2 wanderers that had their current challenge requirements that're completely unchanged form the original Japanese ver which is virtually impossible to obtained unless if you cheat the money
So they decide to kept the original currency (JPY) left intact/unchanged in Street Supremacy
there is a rom patch that fixes it, also pcsx2 comes with a cheat that can fix it, too.
Toyota celica featured!!!
I remember completing nfs carbon own the city back when I used to play psp
5:11 that soundtrack from skullgirls caught me off guard
He asked for smooth jazz and i made a compromise
@@abdullahisdanul107 one of my first playthroughs of the game i used the miata. It was actually not hard to control that one from my experience
@@demon-x3250 Then i probably messed up the tuning, Kinda slidey if i remember correctly. Tho i believe what you said regardless.
It's a portable game... It do not mean to have full exactly like PS2 game. It supposed to be quick and fun like Gran Turismo. But i still think Gran Turismo PSP still deserves wayy better then what we get
And Street Supremacy is probably my first ever emulator game that i somehow managed to finish it.
If only it had free roam like the previous games then it will be epic.
Beat this game, pro tip, lamenting Pluto is a monster, recruit him
Yeah, i use him all the time. I always put him first, he always beat like 2-3 opponents and sometimes all of em.
And pretty good customization for a psp game and by good I mean tasteful
did something happened to the TXR discord server? I can´t find it anywhere, I just want the render distance cheat codes for Zero & 3
Yeah I'd say this and import tuner challenge to be the easiest games in the series
5:11 i hear skullgirls ost
I literally own 2 copies of this game 😂😂 its one of the reasons why i picked up the psp but with emulators now ive emulated the game instead.
ngl this game is really easy if you know what to do. like, you could beat this game less than one day like i do numerous times lol
The millions of the "credits" doesn't make sense at first glance, until you realize it is like the Japanese Yen.
Which is why you see millions for a new R34 at the time of the game... Of course today the used car prices for those cars are out of this world and completely out of touch with reality for nearly all JDM icons.
I wish that someone bring some hack mod to this great game so we can enjoy some more.
Your Crew can be besten, happend at my First try and then its Game over
Wish if it had more cars and a better customisation
FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT STREET SUPREMACY 🗿🗿🗿🙏🙏
The best game for psp!!!
no way its him
With how basic the game is and has that usual madness you'd expect in a Shutokou Battle game, you can literally beat everyone with the basic starter cars and still come up on top.
HI DOVE : )
Seems like Dove has never heard of the currency called The Yen
According to nhentai, there are over 6500 hentai mangas with the inflation tag. Japan seems to really like inflation, it seems.
@@CyanRooper You did NOT have to say that, but thank you for the info anyways lmao
Dude cannot comprehend yen to use conversion.
