    Does anybody know, if there is a similar way to change temps on a EC 820.b machine, as it has knobs instead of buttons?

    I've been using high temp but I blonde very quickly for some reason. So I have been using med for few weeks and it's a bit better

      This means your grinding is not optimal for your shot. You need to go finer. If you cant go finer you can increase dose, if you cant increase dose, you can tamp it with higher pressure. Also, don't use default portafilter, it's very bad, buy a naked one.

    I've tried changing the water temperature, but when it gets to the part where it supposedly shows the "current setting" the lights always flash the same as they did before. Does that mean I have not actually changed the temperature?

      @@iplaybose I believe this is not the question. I have the same problem - The thing is when you enter again Settings/Temp menu it is supposed to show "the current setting" - this is always the "lowest"(1 cup), no matter if you selected mid or high during the previous selection.

      It doesn't matter, you won't have this temperature in your cup, because group is not temperature stable on Dedica. If you don't use dark roast, just set temperature to max, as it will always come down while passing through the group and portafilter.

    I followed the settings as mentioned and even at the max position, my expresso still not really warm. It feels like the components of this machine are cheap versions from Delonghi.

    • @user-eu7wp3jh2b
      @user-eu7wp3jh2b 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Delonghi is not meant to bring you temperature control, this feature really works in 1500+ bucks coffee machines only. What you can do to improve your coffee though, is to pull the first shot through the empty portafilter to your cup, rasing temperature of the whole system up. Then wipe your portafilter and you cup, and only then pull the real shot with coffee. That's the way you can mimic temperature control on Dedica. Don't forget to stir your coffee, to bring all the heaviest extracted components to the surface. Good luck!

      @@krasimirmuratovski7633 I've noticed that when entering the temp settings that you need to observe which lights come on just after hitting the 1 cup button. Then after that the lights flash in sequence. Is it the 1 cup light only (low) or 1 cup and 2 cup at the same time (med) or all three lights come on at the exact same time (high). Saying that I can tell which mode it is in but unless my temperature guage is rubbish it only ever registers 72c or 82c. Today I tried low and it still came out as 82c. Mostly low gives me 72c and med and high give me 82c. I only got over 90c once over the past week. I started to measure the temp each time a week ago. I have been making 8 cappucinos a day at least so I think the temperature bit is a gimmick or is broken or my thermometer can't tell the difference. Saying all that I have experimented making three shots of expresso with the same measurements of the same exact coffee and each with the three different temperature settings and they all taste different! By the way I also always do a water only 2 cups through the portafilter to heat is up.
