Even growing up in central British Columbia and not so rural we were taught a lot about winter safety, keeping emergency items in case of car accident or such. Too bad there wasn't a lake there you could land on. How far would it be with a dog team? Haha, when you mentioned the snow machine I had to laugh at myself for not thinking of that.
That's y I thought this is fishy. Just last week up here troopers did a welfare check an found a cabin burnt an the man was found surviving in sub zero warther.diffent person then this.
Hello sir, did you ever locate your friend? Hopefully things worked out! Alaska is extreme especially in winter, all the best for you and him,👍I follow a TH-cam channel, call Randy west, his shows about hundreds of people that vanished in mostly American national Parks, & hikers in general that for some reason shows unexplained disapearences, unfortunately your friend was featured in his volume 27 of the channel, hopefully you have some kind of closer, all the best to you.
Did you ever go see if all the footprints around the cabin were even his? Was it boarded up like he planned on leaving? Could the Moose hunter have shot him to hide that he was poaching?
H. Carl Sperr 3rd Why didn’t you just take a snowmobile there in the first place with supplies if you’re really concerned about your friend or is it more important to make this video? My priority would be to get to my friend!
Thank you for showing us all what it means to love someone , that's what Jesus Christ would have us do . May your life be truly blessed , may you find true joy and fulfillment and may you make it back to God when this life is over . So wonderful to witness this .

@@lunemiel786 It's so easy to quarterback from an armchair , isn't it ? When someone goes off and let's you know prior, that they want time alone , when you make efforts to drop off groceries once you find their phone's no longer pinging etc, you have made an effort (at your own PERSONAL cost ). Discernment is for the mind enlightened by a committed and deep walk with the Holy Spirit , much though the word may be bandied about by many who simply have no clue by experience - what that word really means . Such enlightened minds do not find it necessary to flippantly cast aspersion on others , for they know such careless comportment immediately dampens the glow of the Holy Spirit's fire within.....

Tracee, what a horrible story! Hope everything is fine with your son now. Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience.
New subscriber. You are definitely the type of friend,we all could use more of...has there been any update on your friend? Has he been found?
No, there isn’t any updates
@@CraveLife That's too bad,man.
Just started watching today any updates yet
@@CraveLife No update, more than a year later? During the summer, you must've gone to the cabin.
DadOutdoors there is not any updates
I just seen your channel and you are a awesome hero for what you do , and Alaska is truly beautiful and wonderful .
Tara's rural life myhappyvlog Thanks so much for your good words!
What about a parachute system which would also make it easier to find the containers.
Great idea!
Best of luck finding your friend! All folks need a good friend like you........
Amy Alvarado Thank you!
Curious why a supply drop didn’t include a parachute... 70mph+ 100ft drop vs a 5gal bucket...
I never get these episodes in order. I give up watching them.
Did you contact authorities and did they inform you they did a safety and welfare check?
That's y I thought this is fishy. Just last week up here troopers did a welfare check an found a cabin burnt an the man was found surviving in sub zero warther.diffent person then this.
Appalachian History Detectives Agree. Contact authorities instead of flying around & unable to land.
so why no news of yer buddy ?? alive ? dead ? been praying for you even tho it was a year ago 🙏🙏🙏
Hello, because we don’t have news. We have no idea where he can be.
What a good human being you are..:)..Bravo my Brother!!!
Bruce Dakin Thank you!
Joe Bass Alaska weather is really severe in winter! Thanks for comment!
Joe Bass I think u mean Rusty West? Forgive if wrong
@@susanvarisco7608 yes your right thx.👍
I pray that you find your friend and everything is well
I cried watching this God will bless people like you I pray this man is ok
its been 2 years since last comment...did u ever find him?
Did you ever find your friend? It been almost a year, right?
Karla Kaney Yes, almost a year, and we still don’t know what happened
Crave Life it’s very sad, you did the best you could on those three trips. Sorry.
Dave Alexander not the worst variant
Roger Hargreaves 😣
@ Crave Life did you find out how he is or where he was?
Vladimir Kostenko. Still missing.
Did you ever go see if all the footprints around the cabin were even his? Was it boarded up like he planned on leaving? Could the Moose hunter have shot him to hide that he was poaching?
Is big lake near wasilla
Hello George, Big Lake is just 20 miles from Wasilla
Great to be worried about someone, but after 5 months it seems kinda fruitless
Ed19601 it is fruitless. That’s why he brought oranges
Ed19601 I needed to do something. I think, to sit and wait would be even more useless.
@@CraveLife i understand. Not criticising
Ed19601 yes, I also understand you, just wanted to explain my point of view
@@CraveLife search team now!!!!!!
Did you find him alive ,?
Will you continue to check the cabin once in awhile?
Debra Wolboldt I think that there is no point on doing this now. It doesn’t seem like he will return there
@@CraveLife I understand
I kind of had some hope when you said the doors and windows had been repainted and the porch cleared. At least he seemed to be alive at that point.
I wish I had someone like you for a friend.
L Collection Thank you so much!
Jesus would not have waited 5 months and He would have made sure the rescuers were actively looking. Use discernment. That suspenseful music is inappropriate and it seems to be staged. This guy is not sincere. So many other red flags that I will leave you to find for yourself

Kate Ann Bailey, thank you. I am so pleased to read so many good comments from all of you!
I don't know if u ever found your friend, I hope so, but should this tragic event ever happen again, or should you need to drop a survival package in the future, may be it would be prudent to mark on each bucket "1of3" - "2of3" - "3of3" so there's no confusion concerning whats been dropped, or wasted time searching for things that may not be there. Just a thought. Again, I am sorry for this horrendous circumstance.
Grim UK, hello! Thank you for this advice! Many people suggested this idea, I wish I knew about it earlier!
What we want to know...... Was he found?!
Hello Wendy, no, he hasn’t been found yet.
Hope you don't mind me asking but how close were you with the guy? How old is he? Hope he's found!!
Your a very nice friend to have. I think he doesn't want to be found!
Who knows? Thanks you for good words!
What is the foam for?
I grew up in Alaska during the 80s. The pilot is right about being outdoors up there. You have to be careful, even in summertime.
Live in houston ak. a few class mates lost in Hatcher's pass in late spring one passed from hypothermia
Great Video! Very Realistic!
priscilla smith because it happened in reality
What? No update?
Hello Teresa, Vladimir is still missing. We do not have any new information about his location.

Suspecting this is not what it seems. No update in over a year? Am I missing an update? With no update I assume tragedy struck and it is too painful to revisit or this is B.S.
Drop each bucket with a red 36” parachute.
That’s a good idea!
No updates?
Not too sure how tomatoes and bananas would survive the drop, but it's a valiant effort all the same. I know if I was living on oatmeal and found a bucket of goodies on my doorstep, I'd cry like hell.
barb ryll, thank you for this comment. I just thought it would be really nice to it some fresh vegetables and fruits in winter.
@@CraveLife I'm touched by your generous effort all the same. God bless
barb ryll, thanks 🙏🏻
It looks like he pulled a Christopher McCandless . But at least Chris was smart enough to bring a rifle.
.22lr is not much of a rifle for that situation, especially if small game is hunkered down.
@@h4l414 i agree, but he did bring down a moose with it.
@@kevculmstock1 Sadly the moose was wasted because it could not be preserved. You can kill anything with a 22lr but it is far from ideal in the wilds of Alaska.
Really? He's dead.
Those buckets are not that tough, especially in the cold
jadesluv, if you watched all videos, you could see that buckets were not damaged at all.
Viewer discretion?
Wade Bryant what do you mean?
Big jar of peanut butter is the most readily available survival food.
daniel watson I lived on peanut butter and jelly and water once for 20 days in northern MT. In the winter. I lost 10 lbs but survived. That was in 1981. Did it one other time to this day I hate it. But it's cheap, will keep well, and you will live.
@@Peterbilt359 Yep, there are worse things like pemmican or nothing. My wish list would be pbj, white bread, smoked sausages, meat sticks, Canned food. All cheap and all would survive the drop.
The UN came up with something called "plumpy nut" that's a sort of meal bar that can be dropped.

What the hell do you THINK is going to happen to a plastic bucket dropped at 100 mph?
What do you think is going happen to a plastic bucket full of weight dropping over 100 ft???
Eric Rodey I did think the same thing,it’s going to split open and go everywhere..and bears will find it.
@@susanbrown2909 I think you can see them intact in one of the flyby's. They should have taped it better, though, like *around* the bucket a few dozen times, rather than just taping the lid down.
