Just read this in the Fairbanks Daily News Miner. Some time ago I had watched the bucket drop video. A sign with a fluorescent orange back ground that’s UV protected would stand out more. The idea for the marten to hang is to keep mice and voles from eating them before they are retrieved.
That's why I got on the comments. The wife an I need closure lol. Seems like this guy is only interested in getting views and showcasing himself doing this amazing deed. I mean he even created a playlist about him searching for this guy to get views and showcase his deeds. Yet, from the first search video dated 11 months ago, it's mostly him talking and droning on. Then you sit through all the videos and his diatribes and find out nothing. This guy kinda sucks in that regard. Seems to be another TH-camr that just cares about YouTubing and getting himself noticed.
Then I scroll through the comments, this guy is answering comments from a few days ago. So he DOES pay attention to the comments. At least when they praise him a bit anyways. Seems like they may have found him because one comment said she seen it on such and such news channel and how sad it was. So unfortunately, seems like the poor guy didn't make it. Very sad. I wish we could know what happened, what led up to his demise, and what can we learn from it. That's what's important is no matter how tragic, there's a lesson to be learned so that the tragedy doesn't occur again.

The country side is so beautiful. Just love the snow. Sorry about your friend. Watched the first video where u dropped food for him. Keep us updated!!. All those people r missing!! How sad!
I use to live in Alaska. Mother Nature in Alaska is nothing to fool with and should be taken seriously at all times. I survived a hellacious storm on the Chukchi Sea in a 14 foot skiff, encounters with bears and had to jump from ship to ship in Bristol Bay. Never been more scared in my life! The Alaskan wilderness is no joke and something to fear at all times. To head off into the wilderness without a weapon for protection and food source is almost certain death. I hope by some miracle this man is alive but after this amount of time it’s highly unlikely. Prayers for him, his friends and family.
If getting away from civilization is your thing, I can't think of a of a better place in the world than the interior of Alaska. I lived up there for two years when I served in the U S Army. If you're not prepared for everything, nature there will show you no mercy!
Michael Schroeder. Central Australia is another place where you can totally isolate yourself but like Alaska you better know what your doing. 24 to 48 hrs without water even staying in one place can be fatal. If you try to walk out in the 50° + heat in the desert country and you won't last through the the day.
They did drop them by plane a day or so before. That is why I asked if the buckets were in the cabin when they arrived or did they retrieve them and put them there in case his friend returned. Very sad story.
wow amazing job what you are doing to searching for your friend who are missing while hiking alone ..it's been a year he is missing wish you find your friend
I keep getting a buffering on this video. Haven't had trouble in this location before. Such a sad story, wanting the Alaska isolation without preparation isn't conducive to a good outcome. I'll pray for him and his family.
There is only so much you can do. We are all adults, he made his decisions, you tried helping him. That is it. In that wild area it's like: "you are on your own and left to your own devices" I like your responsible approach and your good eye for videos and photos. Thank you for sharing.
@henree simp If you have a good stove - not a problem. Nephew came out to "meditate" - wanted to stay in the cabin. Wife was afraid he would freeze. Temps minus 20 F. Told her not to worry. Good fire in the stove - lots of firewood. At 3 AM, my nephew got up and opened all the windows.
You never did an update. I know he is still missing, just an update if other people saw him out there. Did the troopers find the trapper and hunter who were in the area when you start searching? Was that Moose illegal shot? Hunting season for Moose ends end of November. Did anyone ask the snowmobile guys who are using the trail regularly if they saw something? Was anything found a long the trail like cloths or shoes? Greeting from Fairbanks, we just had a nasty -40F day. Stay warm.
Lizzy Cunha. The dislikes are probably caused by that disgustingly inhumane trapping of the wild animals who are left to freeze to death or die of hunger. And for a cop to be so casual about it is not a real good look either. It should be banned. I do hope their friend is found safe & well.
Phillip McKenzie ... many people live this way, it’s how they survive on this planet. I think it’s the purest way to live. And people who live off the land have the most respect for the environment and wildlife.
Janice Connolly. Yes fine if you are living a life as a hunter/gatherer, but if you had actually listened to the cop you would have clearly heard him saying that "trappers" get up to ××× $ for the skins of the animals they trap. He also said that they might check their traps every couple of days or even weekly depending on how many traps they set. The majority of these animals are left to freeze to death, die of hunger or dehydration in pain. Some of these animals are taken by other predators while trapped & defenceless. Some types of wild animals will actually CHEW their foot or paw off to escape the trap. I have no issue with a "clean" fast kill for food. Most people who go to their supermarket & buy a leg of lamb for tea never think about how that meat got there. It was slaughtered in an abbatoir in the cleanest, fast & pain free method available. 99% of people would have absolutely no idea whatsoever if confronted in a survive or die situation of how to capture let alone skin & butcher an animal and would most probably be so repulsed by the very idea of having to do it, they couldn't do it. They'd most probably become vegans. ( soy-boys). I have myself lived in the bush & have trapped & sourced my own meat supply as well as having a good knowledge of "bush Tucker" to survive without going near a supermarket for months on end. I have never "killed" a wild animal simply for profit.
I’m sorry he hasn’t been found. I’m sure this will be hard for you to hear but I feel like he most Likely left the cabin to hike out, went on a bad path, got lost/got injured, and froze to death. It’s very possible he got charged by a moose in that close woodlands as well. Unfortunately his body will more than likely never be recovered, the land swallows people out there, and if the land doesn’t do it, the grizzlies and ravens will. Two more possibilities is that he just wanted to start a new life, or by far the most disturbing, someone murdered him out there. I didn’t even know this man but writhing this out deeply concerns me, considering how much he probably meant to you. I’m sorry again.

It's kind of shocking when you realize how many people go missing I mean completely gone vanished from the face of the Earth I love that 411 it keeps the memory of those folks going
From the first video he apparently hiked in without a weapon of any kind. It would take a stroke of luck to kill a moose without a large caliber weapon. I doubt the moose kill was his.
I was wondering if you knew any of his family or anybody else to contact that they might have seen him. It's really sad when people get lost or stranded out in about with no shelter I hope he isn't dead I hope he's safe. It's been 10 minutes since your last video have you heard anything?
theamericanwonder, first buckets that were dropped Vladimir brought inside the cabin. We was here yet. But when we dropped the buckets for the second time, he left the cabin and since then we don’t know where he is.
They flew by at the beginning of Nov. 2019 and saw him when they dropped supplies. Then before Christmas, Dec. 24, they dropped more food but the place was boarded up and didn't see him.
Yeah he made it there and even made it out the early video when it showed his buddy there but the food he dropped he never picked up that food drop. Maybe when they thought he was signing saying he’s leaving soon maybe he was saying he needed help

Quay Versteeg No, we didn’t go there in summer. Thanks for your comment
Indy Midwest if he stayed there, we would already know about it. If he changed his location, he can be anywhere now
Have you found him or is he still missing? So sad.
Hello Judith, Unfortunately not.
I saw this story on the ADN on Facebook. You did everything you could do to find him. It's a sad situation.
Thanks Leesa 🙏♥️
@@CraveLife what ever happened or did he remain missing?
Hello, Vladimir is still missing that’s why we still do not know exactly what happened.
@@CraveLife there was a guy that supposed to have drove a cat d10 dozer in a lake at fort Knox gold mine, years ago. I think they fount him 7 years later in south America, fat, happy, tanned,. His wife had 7 million dollars of insurance on him. I was wondering if your friend had money or mental health problems. Because sometimes you never really no anyone.🤔
That’s a really funny story. However, this is not the same case, I guess. But who knows? Time will show us.
You are a true friend looking for Vladimir many times. Are there any updates?
Aimee,
Sadly no updates at this time.
I hate to ask. But did you ever go back to the cabin with dogs, trained to find bodies? It might be the only way. But by now he's either passed on, or has vanished because he wanted too. It can be hard sometimes.
Hello James, unfortunately we didn’t go to the cabin with trained dogs.
Where did his tracks 👣 start and stop what was the last evidence y'all found ????

Just read this in the Fairbanks Daily News Miner. Some time ago I had watched the bucket drop video.
A sign with a fluorescent orange back ground that’s UV protected would stand out more.
The idea for the marten to hang is to keep mice and voles from eating them before they are retrieved.
Thanks for watching and for information!
@@CraveLife did you ever find this man ?
jackie oman no, still no updates😔
Steve Terry Yes, thanks for comment
9 months later is there an update on the story ? Did ya find the fella? 🤞
@@konolfodinsson4096 This whole thing comes across as a "clickbaity" Discovery Channel mockumentary. I feel concern for this missing man, but I just ended up spending 20 minutes watching a video about trapping. I'm starting to wonder if those were really Alaskan State Troopers, or just actors.
@@stevenhorne5089 We're moving up there next year, an all this crap did was scare the hell outta the wife and kids lol. An then no closure even lol.
No vaseline man.
I love the History Channel Bushcraft shows to like the woodsman. If you watch that you can learn how to make a Bow out of a bicycle rim and a couple springs that grew out in the forest somewhere, then he teaches you how to sprint, crashing through the forest like a raped ape to chase down a deer, actually persuade it to stand still with your Woodsman Jedi powers for 5 minutes straight. That way, you can line up those perfect shots and smoke anything that comes your way.
I bet if we ALL watched that show twice a day, we'll be Woodsman Jedis in mere weeks!
Still no sign, he was so further down in a comment.
Any news on your friend at all
Hi Steve, unfortunately not. I will post an update video soon with what I believe happened.
I never thought your effort to find him was fake!! This video proves it!
Definitely not fake, but odd nonetheless.
Hello,
I want to express my thanks as a father, and as someone who believes in people. This situation is very sad and I pray that you, his friends, and family find some kind resolution/closure regarding his whereabouts and what happened. With that being said, THANK YOU and all of the others involved for valuing life and going above and beyond to help a friend in need. I teach my kids everyday to always go above and beyond to help others, and I am humbled and thankful that good people like you are in the world. BTW, I live near Wasilla and close to Hatcher’s Pass, I moved from the lower 48, and can’t wait to begin our adventures exploring this amazing state! We will definitely go out informed, properly equipped, and we will seek out knowledge and advice from those that know the area and what it takes to survive and thrive while we are out. God bless you and your’s, the first responders, and everybody that are helping in the search.
@Crave Life my prayers that you find your friend alive and healthy.

Sorry about your friend. I hope I have a friend like you if I ever go missing you went above and beyond.
Man agreed! He really went all out for his buddy. I hope they find the guy.
Nice looking gents out there..new subber from UK.
Poor chap .;I hope he’s ok.
It’s such a vast place and unforgiving;but beautiful all the same.
Were the orange buckets in the cabin when you arrived or did you put them there?
Sounds like they were dropped by a plane probably once he'd been missing or something.
They did drop them by plane a day or so before. That is why I asked if the buckets were in the cabin when they arrived or did they retrieve them and put them there in case his friend returned. Very sad story.
@@joansommerfield8419 in another video I saw that the buckets were brought in by the search team from where the plane had dropped them.

Hi Matt, working on a video what I think happened. He is still missing to this day.
Very interesting to get insight into trapping.
Thanks, Mr. Trooper
Greetings from good old Germany.
There is only so much you can do. We are all adults, he made his decisions, you tried helping him. That is it. In that wild area it's like: "you are on your own and left to your own devices" I like your responsible approach and your good eye for videos and photos. Thank you for sharing.
A good friend you are!
Kim Gary Thank you! Pleased to hear!
You need to start where he started! Did anyone see him?
They saw him in a cabin by airplane, but when they landed a helicopter there he was gone. So they're looking on the trail to the cabin.
Did HE bring in the supply buckets? Or did you find them and put them inside the cabin?
They retrieved the buckets when they helicoptered to the cabin looking for him.
Trigger Happy, the buckets we dropped for the first time, Vladimir brought in by himself.
Did you ever find your friend
Hi Shawn, Sadly no.
Sorry to hear that.
I just found this channel, was your friend ever found?
Hi Germaine, Unfortunately not.
hard to believe that cabin was uninsulated
@henree simp If you have a good stove - not a problem. Nephew came out to "meditate" - wanted to stay in the cabin. Wife was afraid he would freeze. Temps minus 20 F. Told her not to worry. Good fire in the stove - lots of firewood. At 3 AM, my nephew got up and opened all the windows.
It's only one room to heat. Feed the fire and keep your winter clothes on.

Did you guys put the buckets in the cabin?
Hello Dave, the first buckets Vladimir brought on his own. But the second ones, we put in the cabin.
The trapping is horrific in such peaceful beauty it's sad. Hope he is found safe
Well, he definitely had more than 5 lbs of oatmeal. I saw quite a bit of pork and beans above the frig in the cabin.
How can you put a dislike on a video when somebody's going out of their way to look for someone please help me to understand
Lizzy Cunha. The dislikes are probably caused by that disgustingly inhumane trapping of the wild animals who are left to freeze to death or die of hunger. And for a cop to be so casual about it is not a real good look either. It should be banned. I do hope their friend is found safe & well.
It’s mellow drama.... watch them all.... very lame
Phillip McKenzie ... many people live this way, it’s how they survive on this planet. I think it’s the purest way to live. And people who live off the land have the most respect for the environment and wildlife.
@@janiceconnolly8740 true facts
So sorry about your friend getting lost. You’re doing a valiant effort to find him. Was he ever located?

@@CraveLife Don't count on it **wry grin**
Patty Taylor Thank you!
He's an Alaskan -- I'm sure he is well aware of the inherent dangers, though considerate of you to express your condolences at the **end**

Anyone going into the forest or a huge area like Alaska should have a GPS or satellite phone unless you dont want to be found

Lizzy Cunha that’s the reason I made this video. In order other people could realize that this is a real problem that can happen with anyone
Do you have tags for moose. If so I would would pull the records of that 1 moose kill location and interview those hunters..
From the first video he apparently hiked in without a weapon of any kind. It would take a stroke of luck to kill a moose without a large caliber weapon. I doubt the moose kill was his.
