Loving the Buffalo Trace store pick from Raley's in Reno, NV. Seriously such a good deal for 27. I sometimes feel that it tastes closer to Blanton's than normal Buffalo Trace. A way more rounded flavor profile than the usual.
I don't drink every day and I still manage to go through half a case of EHT Small Batch a year. Other people drink more of my Blanton's than I do. Regular Buffalo Trace is grocery store whiskey where I live, always available at MSRP or less. Bought 2 bottles in February on sale for $20 each.
East coast trip in the works? Up here in Connecticut is ok choices from what I can see. I am still very new to the bourbon scene tho so I could be very wrong. lol We do have a local distillery in Litchfield CT and have heard good things.
When I think "low end" Buffalo Trace, I think Old Charter, Benchmark 8, Ancient Age, Buffalo Trace, and although I've never had Hancock's, it is on the low end of pricing.
In Missouri, these will run 149-200 for Hancock, 70-90 ER, 80-120 for EHT, 50-80 for WSR, and 26-50 on the BT. The BT is the only one I’d categorize as “low end” from a price perspective.
Lol. I wish my budget could consider all of these "low end". I'll agree with the regular Buffalo Trace, Weller SR, and MAYBE Eagle Rare if at MSRP. But once you break $50+ that moves it into "MID TIER" in my world. Great video as always.
After watching your shows, I noticed that the 2 bottles of Weller full proof are both store picks, so im afraid the open one lol, what is your opinion?
Regular buffalo trace costs 24 bucks here. Same with special reserve. All three of the others in the blind run between 90 and 200 each here in central Texas. I wouldn’t call that low-end but I guess it is all relative. Everyone has their own thresholds.
@@SamFromQueens Special Reserve is cheaper around here. Same with BT. EHT and Blanton’s are ridiculous around here. I did get an Eagle Rare for 50 last week. Normally see it for 100. Blanton’s is normally 200. So stupid.
@@SamFromQueens I hope so too. Secondary pricing gets under my skin. I refuse to pay over so there are a lot I don’t get to try. Luckily there are TH-cam specialists that make videos about the good bottles that are available on the shelf.
I've got an Idea, blind taste or just compare buffalo trace mash bill one vs Bowman bros because Bowmans buys, ages and bottles buffalo trace mash bill one in VA. And it,d just be cool to see the difference.
IMO ER *can* be stellar if you have a honey bottle. EHT SmB, Blanton’s are consistently good. WSR, BT are consistently okay/good. I don’t think all would classify as low end tho - BT considers Blanton’s to be a premium, and the MSRP on the EHT SmB is 2x that of the BT, 2.5x that of the WSR. I think a battle of BT SiB would be better: RHF, Blanton’s, EHT SiB, and ER. Add a WSiB if ya got one.
Calling these the "low end" buffalo trace is wild to me because I've never even seen the "high end" bottles and EH Taylor secondary is generally higher than I'm willing to spend on any bourbon.
100% Around here EH Taylor small batch is $100, Eagle Rare is $50 Eagle Rare is better at half the price. Id rather drink Buffalo Trace for the price than EH Taylor small batch

I’ve never had Blanton’s, just Eagle Rare and the stand Buffalo Trace. Is there a big difference between Blanton’s and Buffalo Trace?
@@numanuma20 not really. Age and proof but flavor profile is similiar in my opionion. Blantons is better though
Thanks TJ!
Speaking of Buffalo Trace! I got two bottles at the Guntersville, AL ABC Store Saturday Night!

Out here in Oregon you’ll be able to pay close to ms. With the variation of around 10$ or so. :)
I've got my trunks ready for the Crewzle.🎉

Msrp for the most expensive is 69. Some states like NY, I can find them all for under 80. BT 35, Eagle Rare 50, Weller Sr 50, ETH SmB 64, Blantons 80

@@rustbucket9318 hopefully they all plummet back to msrp this year or the next my friend

You should never pay more than $50 for EHT SB or ER. Blanton's is never worth more than $75. Learn how to hunt.
Glad eagle Rare is number one its my everyday 🫗
Same

coming from a distributor sales rep, these items excluding the BT are the low end, monthly allocations for our accounts! So this was awesome to see!
Nice name check on Kara & Nate. They’re up there with my favourite TH-camrs 👍🏻👍🏻
1) EHT, 2) RB, 3) Blanton’s, 4) WSR and 5) BT
Eagle Rare, Blantons, EH Taylor, buffalo trace, Weller Special Reserve

Disaronno + Corona = Dr Pepper-like cocktail (since you appreciate the Pepper too).
EH Taylor All day every day
Does TJ not know that Scotland is in the UK?
That is Weller 12, not Weller SR!
I hope to reincarnate into a man that drinks bourbon with his wife for fun and money some day. TJ has it figured out.
