Indeed, you you ever intend to review a model from the Witch from mercury line? It would be nice to hear your thoughts on how the kit construction changed. @@HobbyClubhouse
Amazing video, the pacing and structure is perfect. Not a single wasted second and so much great information packed in. Your focus on putting the subject into a big picture context is always great. The molding process side bit was a nice bit of education. Your presentation is always pleasant and encouraging. It's so great to see a new video, this was an excellent watch!
Sometimes they stealth-reprint them now and only send them to Gundam Base stores... which doesn't really make things better. At least the 08th MS Team line here is something Bandai is quite willing to print, unlike some lines they just pretend don't exist (looks at 1/144 Turn A and X)
Man, These 90s HGs look so good! For what they are, I’m very impressed! I’ve been fed up with newer models lately (since I keep breaking them,) so I might try to track down something from this line
Super happy to have you back man, been following your come back on twitter and i’ve been waiting for this review ever since you mentioned it in the newer flight types review back then, its such a joy seeing you back
Ashamed to say this video took like a week longer to make because I rerecorded so much stuff. Still, even I myself wanted to have this review so much, and I'm so happy it's out now!
I always love your reviews, especially for older kits since you showed how well designed some of them are considering the limitations at the time in great detail. You even made me appreciate older kits a lot more for what they are & made me grab some older kits too (well just the cheap & easy to get stuff like the HGUC Z'gok & Guntank). Anyways thank you for making reviews like this one & also welcome back!
It always strikes me how much passion the designers have (in cases like this anyway) to make a nice kit for us and putting in all that work to make it look so effortless. Even more amazing when a lot of this work was still done by hand at the time (though there were already a lot of computer work by 1999)
welcome back! i always love watching these videos because no matter what kit you’re talking about, your passion reminds me how much i love this hobby. thank you!
The molding process bit is a great example of why I love watching your videos in the first place. Great to see you back and looking forward to your next video.
Man it is good to have you back on the road! It is interesting to see we had retail versions of kits that got immediately P-bandai'd whenever they got a newer mold i.e. this Gouf flight type, both GM Snipers or the Ground Gundam with the GM head that you can get from the Ground War Set (I hope we can see you review one of those sets here on the channel someday). Again, I cannot stretch enough how happy we are to have you back man.
The 08th MS Team really got P-Bandai-ed to heck when I'm sure they'd have sold fine at retail. I once held hope they'd do the Mass Production Guntank, but of course they didn't... Glad to be back!
yeah I remember I was trying to buy hg freedom gundam and the seller said it is 1000 turkish liras but it should be around 300 sellers in here makes them expensive if it is from another country
Oh shit! You're back! I agree with a lot of your points about how this kit and others like it (older kits made with less advanced technology) are still worth your time as a builder. Not only are they great practice for things like seam line removal and masking, but you can try kitbashing on them without worrying you're ruining an expensive kit forever. A few simple alterations and using polycaps you may already have could open up this kit to having different hands which can then hold a variety of different weapons! Really, the possibilities are endless!
10:23 Surprised you didn't mention here (or in the HGUC review) that the ammo belt from the HG is after all these years still the same part used in the HGUC Gouf Custom and Flight Type, and is probably the oldest non-polycap runner still used in modern kits.
Still feels crazy to me older kits like this, and things like the first grade kits just don't show up in the US. I know they're old, but they really are the only way to get certain mobilesuits and vehicles (looking at you dodai) so it's strange they NEVER show up here. I guess we can blame bluefin not requesting it from Bandai and being one of the soul intermediaries for companies in the US.
I imagine sellers are worried they won't sell. I mean, sure they're janky as heck and are primitive, but bad influences have led a lot of people to devalue them. I need to finish that Dodai YS video...
@@HobbyClubhouse bad influences? Huh, maybe that could be a good topic for a video then. A full on video made to dispel myths about kits just being "old and bad" would be worthy to the cause of gunpla. I'm also not sure of too many channels besides yourself who sees the value in them. Though I think you have enough on your plate already with your backlog, so no pressure on any sort of vid like that soon. (That and you do try to always make the case for the kits you review)
I bet they realized how the poor thing originally got only seconds of screen time and gave it a proper fight -- which they really seemed to put a lot of love into
When the world needed him most, he returned.
So many Gundam models need proper respect and love with a Hobby Clubhouse video:)

OMG HOBBY CLUBHOUSE IS BACK!!!

Welcome back! Quite like your store videos as someone who buys stuff like nuts:)
@@HobbyClubhouse wow! Thank you! Been a big fan of your videos for a long time as well!
"Ah, nothing like rewatching some Hobby Clubhouse videos while working... wait, UPLOADED 20 HOURS AGO???"
It's nice to finally see you back!!
Glad it was such a delightful surprise. I'm back!
Crazy to know it was reprinted in 2017 😭 I wish these things were more frequent

Well, blame yourself for breaking them not the models, it's your own doing and besides there not even meant to be played with
Been such a long while, we're back in the clubhouse, and for such a wonderful HG Gouf kit too! Hype!
Hell yeah!
Been following you on Twitter and was excited for the return video!

Good to finally have you back man.
Not gonna lie, you've been missed.
Would have been maybe a week sooner if I weren't picky and reshot / rerecorded a bunch of stuff ^^;
Glad to be back!
The hobby clubhouse is finally back I'm so happy and honestly I love his model kit reviews they're pretty awesome.
Bro wake up, Hobby Clubhouse is back!!!!

Finally i've been waiting for you my GOATTT, the best gunpla reviewer ever!
As a famous tight-suit-clad infiltration expert once said: "Kept you waiting huh?"
It's nice to have you back. 👍 Really enjoyed your reviews.
I felt called out "looking where to buy this kit" haha. The pain(t) and gushing over the build
I knew there'd be people immediately thinking: "I wonder if there's a reasonably priced one online..." (because that's exactly what I'd do)
welcome back ma guy, it nice seeing you geeking out on retro kit again.
Man I've wanted to finish my review for this guy for so long, I'm so happy it's finally covered!
Your video style is very soothing
Your explanation of mould shaping is definitely a lot more understandable than before good job
welcome back! i always love watching these videos because no matter what kit you’re talking about, your passion reminds me how much i love this hobby. thank you!
I really do love these kits and look forward to making reviews for them:)
The box art on this looks incredible, I've not seen it before but it honestly might be my favorite Gunpla box art that I've seen so far.
The one for the gouf custom of this specific line is my personal fave
I wonder if the many box art wafers Bandai released covers these kits. I imagine they don't though...
The molding process bit is a great example of why I love watching your videos in the first place.

I'm very glad you came back, and with an excellent review !
A bit later than as teased by the original HGUC video, but it finally got here!
I am from Turkey and it is so hard to buy gunpla here but still I am enjoying your rewievs even though I cannot buy gunpla :D
I bet they cost a lot from parallel importers
yeah I remember I was trying to buy hg freedom gundam and the seller said it is 1000 turkish liras but it should be around 300 sellers in here makes them expensive if it is from another country
When i saw you tweeted about this video i was so excited, your reviews are some of the best
I've wanted to have this review myself for so long, I'm super glad it's out!

I quite like the older art that isn't all done with computers. New boxes are very beautiful, but there's something special about raw artistic skill
