    Probably the best instruction video and system I’ve ever seen for control of distance with wedges, an issue that keeps me stuck on a Handicap of 6. Thanks a lot for sharing

    Excellent advice. I will definitely try this system out. I need something like this to create a system that I can depend on to hit the different distances with my wedges. This makes a lot of sense. Thank you 🙏🏽

    Never came across the chest to chest, shoulder to shoulder idea as being ballpark 20 and 10 yards off - awesome stuff and I will work that into my final system for sure. I am currently practicing a waist to waist (w2w) system with 3 wedges (60/55/50 idea) where 40 yards = w2w with the 60 wedge, 60 yards =w2w with the 55 wedge, 80yards = w2w with the 50 wedge. Your chest and shoulder ideas will work perfectly after that and I will also practice your 56 degree wedge system to give me two types of flights. Thanks Eric.

      @@CogornoGolf As a follow up and after spending 2 hours today on the range practicing this method with my 56/57 degree wedge - it is fantastic. I also love the goto approximation of 20 yards & 10 yards less for shoulder to shoulder and ear to ear - it was great to give me goto approximate distances using my 50 degree gap and 46 degree PW which I know their carry's (122 & 137). Awesome stuff Eric!

    Loving the swing system for carry distances. A question regarding taking spin off and lowering trajectory for back pins into wind or running up the hill using less loft and viCe versa?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks.
      Back pin and into wind, error on 15 ft short. You can take more club and lower speed or keep same club and take longer swing length than normal. I would for sure lower traj either way

    • @rohitpratap4174
      @rohitpratap4174 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Eric, point taken. Like you i used to use a 56 for most distances inside my full 56 distance, and could lower and raise traj, but found lowering spin by taking more club and swinging easier for back pins , or getting the ball running more up hills got me closer than say 56 with tons of spin (unless I needed that for a particular pin/green speed)

    Any reason why you started with the sand wedge? Is that your most lofted wedge or did you not use your lob wedge for a reason? Sorry if i missed the explanation of this in the video.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't use a 60* for wedge distances. I like to use 56* and coach my player to do so. Most players I see use a 60* can't flight the ball well enough nor control distance enough with it...ball goes too high.
      If you can do with 60* you can use that....most perform better with 56* or 54*

    Hi Eric
    When hitting your wedges and short irons to get close to the hole ,are you still using flexion and supination of the wrist for this swing? thank you

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its still happening...yes....but "less" on wedge shots....more as the shots get longer, less as they are shorter.
      Short wedge shots for sure less flex and supinate bc we want to use the bounce....and those movements take the bounce away.

  • @TimJE1976
    @TimJE1976 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Eric. For the longer shots (i.e. chest / chest upwards) with PW and 9i, are you still working on the premise of toe up and club face neutral/slightly open at address as per some of your other videos on wedge/short irons?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tim!
      Great question!
      No, I would prefer club face more tilted down same as back angle in backswing as the clubs get longer.
      I would say that rule starts to apply from say 50 yards and beyond

  • @manvesh97

    My point on confusion comes from whether you hit eg a shoulder to shoulder shot with more of a pitch swing or is it simply a shortened full swing? In terms of hip rotation, upper body/arms dominance on the backswing (and downswing).
    Btw is there anywhere I could donate to you? As I have been binge watching all your videos and would like to contribute past ad revenue however am not interested in the membership at this point in time.

    Perfectly timed video for me. Off to the range to work on this. Thanks Eric! What is the need for the cross over distances? I.e. 120 yards pw chest/chest vs 120 yards gap ear/ear. Are we considering wind conditions? I assume the best choice is the 120 PW chest chest knock down type shot?

    Hi Eric, with my full swing I’ve had to take your previous advice and feel like I’m doing a half swing so I don’t overswing (club past parallel). Am I right in thinking that this wedge system will still work as the tempo is more a 2:1 tempo ration rather than a 3:1 tempo with a faster swing. Hope that makes sense.. cheers Lee

    This is a good way to practice but hitting wedges and short irons close to the hole on a fairway with uneven or tight lies, elevated greens, etc. requires more calculation. How do you work this out?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha of course man...
      If you don't have a good shot from 80 from neutral conditions what are the odds you do in other conditions?
      You have to get basics right first. Same with full swing mechanics, chipping, etc.
      Then you must do calculations....yes...thats a whole other video my friend.

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can certainly use full swings! This system really helps with distance control and it allows you to take a shorter, more controlled swing which is great ALL the time...but especially great when you're having an off day and/or if it's really windy out (the shorter swings help keep the trajectory down).
      Hope this one helps your game as well! Thanks for watching!
