    First time I ever saw someone get a screw out of the cooling head that way. Making a mental note of this just in case I round one out. NITRO GANG FOREVER!!!!!

      Hey brother! YEs, man this method works very well, I've done it a few times on various engines. As long as you only get the HEAD of the screw off you're good. Cause the head itself is'nt threaded so you're really only looking to remove the screw head and the rest of the bold will be easy to remove from the engine itself. NitroGang baby!..

    It's so satisfying being able to fix something and it not costing you anything especially when you can use parts you already had that we're just sitting around

      Hey my friend! Yes, I fully agree, anybody can go and buy parts to repair anything, but they they will have less money for NITRO. And you know we need more money for nitro because the Consumer Utility Demand Curve states that the more RCs you have, the happier you will be!! haha. True Story!

    Great video!!! I love how you take the time to show the trials and tribulations of a vintage nitro restorererererer. You didn’t just take the easy way out on any step. You made sure to do the proper and most appropriate option, and guess what the HPI slash 😂 Runs again!

      hey bro! Happy to see the Ethical NitroGang is here! Glad you appreciate everything I had to do so far, also I've figured out a way on how to make use of the original fuel tank. I'll discuss it in a future stream or video, we are one step closer to HPI greatness bro.

      Thank you my dude happy to know your appreciating this sort of content. Of course, when you’re working on old Nitro models like this, you always want into issues especially with people that made prior modifications like this one has plenty of. My only real option is to get the HPIT 3.0 engine at this point.

      Hey, my dude, this truck will still need some more work, but I have made more significant progress. I have figured out how to get the fuel tank not to leak and it was quite simple. I will discuss it in a future video. I have a feeling the method will save many of these old vintage nitrous. See you on the next one.

    Nice engine fix! I used a drill but that’s a bit bigger than the bolt but smaller than the head and the head still rips off the same. I had to fix an engine for my cousin that was sitting for several years, old OS .15. Thankfully no bolts were stuck but they were stripped.

    Love this video! I’m in the same boat with my Heng Long Sprint touring car (FW05 clone). I bought a VX18 thinking all I need is a small block side exhaust and rotary carb to get it going. Boy was I wrong! The Vertex engines are so strange and long. The mounts are useless. The vertex engines mounts are so useless they don’t even fit on the vertex engine without serious modification. So I had to dremel to get them to work. But still I couldn’t mesh with the existing chassis holes. So I made my own aluminium adapter plate between chassis and engine mounts so that I don’t make a mess of the existing chassis alu. Anyway I might work it might not but I’ll never buy vertex again unless it’s for the HSP flying fish or whatever it’s designed for

    When checking the compression of my CEN SP1 GP the pullstarter slipped out of my hand and ruined the plastic primer. Instead of buying a new fuel tank I screwed in a screw with a O ring in the place where the primer used to be. Holds fuel tank pressure very great

    Yeah I had the backplate o ring tear on the trx 2.5. Luckily they sell them for that engine. I’d recommend trying to make a gasket for the backplate because 9/10 chance it’ll leak like crazy. Chances are you’d need a pretty thin gasket material though

    Hey Dem I did the same thing to restore my M26 and Btw you can use a drill bit same size as the screw cause when you passed the bottom end of the screw head that will break loose anyway and you won’t hurt the cooling head material. Just note that you may have to start the drill backwards to start removing some screw metal then go forward otherwise it will lock or go lightly. Hey is that head fins not supposed face the wind?. Good job btw. 👍

    Hybrid, as someone who's still learning, what is a good way of testing a fuel tank? Do you have a post on it?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey buddy, that is a great question. The best way to test is to remove the tank from the car and plug one of the fuel lines and blow through the other one. You should not have any air escaping. You should blow in and out to make sure that the tank seal is good as well. If it holds air well enough, you could pretty much assume there should be no leaks.

    • @joshherrman3201
      @joshherrman3201 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hybrid32494 That was kind of what I was thinking. I'm still learning every day now. I've heard people talk about these tanks making a tune impossible, but I've never really seen anyone explain how to test or diagnose a bad tank.

  • @RCgarageTexas
    @RCgarageTexas 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    why not just use some HSP mounts or even the old mounts on that other little hpi engine you were playing with on the live yesterday

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey bro. The main issue is the newer HPI engines with the pilot shaft will not be a direct fit to the old Nitro rush 15 FE, unless I want to get all new flywheels clutches clutch bells, which will be very expensive. The only real option I have is to get the T3 .0 engine, which would be a direct drop and fit.

  • @michaelinzitari

    How are you going to remove the remainder of the bolt stuck in the case? How will you attach the head now? Why did you remove the head in the first place?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hey dude! Corporate nitro is here! The bolts left over in the head early came out with basic pliers. I've never had an issue tanking the STUDS out, it seems once the head is drilled off there is a good amount of heat which also helps to loosen the bolt itself (this could be the case). Also removed the head to clean the engine, really was not necessary, but once I decided to do it, I had no choice after.

    What motors fit in a hpi Rush ?

    • @hybrid32494
      @hybrid32494  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hey buddy! you could fit an HPI t3.0 engine or some older OS engines (all discontinued). You need a side exhaust, small block, rotary carb and a standard shaft crank.
