Hell of an engine. Got two of them myself and they're too much power for their cars. One lives in an AE NTC3 and one lives in an AE SC10GT.

Hey Corporate Nitro is here! The ratio matters and we need to increase out Nitro : Electric ratio as high as possible. always a surprise with Nitro RCs, you just never know, but it's totally worth it! The ROI is high!

Great truck! OS .18 is monster of engine for 1/10 scale. Try to get the pipe mount because vibration can fracture manifold header.
What’s up nitrogang! I picked up a used HPI Nitro MT Racer a few weeks ago, this one has an OS Max CV-R .15. Last year I commented and had picked up a sealed MT Racer, I ended up getting a new CV-X .15 for it too. That one is still sealed lol. Anyways, I’m having an issue with the slipper clutch on my used one. It’s doing a lot of slipping and not alot of grabbing lol. I’ve gotten it to slip less, but i’m thinking it was a mix between the slipper and the engine. I’m pretty positive I need to swap the clutch shoes out on the engine. Anyways, I got a CV-R .18 coming for it too!!

I don't know if you already use them, but wire coat hangers make good metal exhaust brackets....couple sets of pliers, make any bracket you want, and they fit into the tips to be tightened usually. Got a rebuilt CV-R in my TowerHobbies ST-15. Nice motors. Came from my MT2 actually.

Hey buddy! Good idea right there. Well the modern version of this truck is the HPI Bullet, but it's also a single speed. I'll be honest with you, the g3.0 engine is pretty high revving and can hit 40+ with just a single speed, so it's acceptable.

hey bro! yes! the best motors for the time ever made! And the best carbs too. The only thing I worry about are the pull starts, but they seem good too, so far I;'ve never killed one.
To bad there wasn't a drill start back plate for it. The one I had was a bump start grrr lol my opinion drill start and the easy start are so convenient. Just get higher mili Amp pack to power the system
I have the same engine in a Hpi Nitro RS4 evo 3.
Even with quality foam tires wheelspin is abundant,on the stock hpi rubber tyres it's lethally uncontrollable

Hey I just got a MT-2 used, and I have a Hpi 3.0 motor but it won't fit. The engine mount I need is out of stock everywhere (HPI #86000 - ENGINE MOUNT 21mm). Is there another engine mount that would do the trick? What are you using to make the os .18 fit? Can u give the link? Thanks man!
I have reverted back to nitro 3 times in the last 12 years. It always fun until it isn't. I just wish electric wasn't better in every possible way. Nitro has sound and smell. Nitro love will never die but just can't keep them as staples in my fleet, they always seems to drop to the bottom of the totem.
I'm in a similar situation, had two MT2's back in around 2012. One had a two-speed, other a single speed but the single speed one I later on converted to brushless but didn't had any clue what I was doing. After burning the ESC I sold them both, because my FG petrol 1:6 scale was so much easier to start and tune. But now probably buying one back, a early 2.5cc one. Gonna keep it to run sometimes, because electro is so much more easy, and my 1:5 HPI Baja isn't a car where you can run everywhere.

I highly recommend getting a larger spur gear as because the MT2 stock gearing is very tall, too tall.
hey man! thanks for watching. Personally would prefer a taller gear ratio with more top speed. I have the tune extremely rich and it might seem like it's sluggish, but trust me, it's running good. Also since I have the camera on the car I can't be full throttle at all times, so it's also a matter of getting a good video.
@@hybrid32494 Yes it definitely is tuned well. I was just commenting based on my experience with my MT2 with the stock gearing. It is just too tall for my liking. But to each their own! Long live nitro gang
@@paulspomer16 Yes man, you're not wrong! I will confirm that I did hit 49 with one of these on the g3.0 model. So yes, that is pretty tall gearing, you're right. Since I dont really like wheelies and preffer smooth starts, the tall gearing is great for me.. You're right though!!

hey dude. I f the gear mesh is good then the next thing to look at is your slipper clutch, and also maybe too much jumping or crazy acceleration runs. Loosen the slipper nut about 1/2 a turn (check the manual online how it's done). You should not be stripping spur gears normally.

hey dude! I have the savage X 4.6, I think thats what you meant! Anyways, it's no different in terms of drivetrain compared to the old one, it's still great though. I have a few videos on it for you to check out. Its pricey though, and the servo sucks, but otherwise you cannot kill it!
@@hybrid32494 i have a Savage x 4.1 but i broke the differentials many times and it has some problems but you can't kill it, nitro it never dies
