Haha I just bought these, while I already have the Turtle beach recon Gamepad aswell with a build in equalizer and super human hearing. With the headset plugged in the controller,and both eq's enabled and you probably have the loudest sounding headset you will find,it can get insanely loud. And then youre still able to boost it with windows settings,which is getting you to an absurd level of loudness.

I can honestly say the difference between this and usually playing the audio though the TV speakers or my 5.1 set up is like night and day! You hear sooo much through the headset it's actually a bit daunting to begin with. You can hear other enemies or even the people you are playing with walking/running up to you. You can hear vehicles approaching that I always missed before. These aren't surround sound headphones from what I understand but you still gain a lot of directional information wearing them. For the price I paid - I'm really happy with them. Any negatives? Not really but to start with because both your ears are completely enclosed by the headset, when you talk I could hear myself really muffled and wasn't sure if I was talking too loudly or not loud enough. The solution was to turn the mic volume up so that my voice was sent through my headphones which made it easier to monitor.
Yeah all I’m hearing is banger, banger, banger. With the only drawbacks probably being Spotify sessions while gaming if some of the music quality is that bad. Also I hope the mic still works if the headphones die

They work awesome with the recon controller and there's a massive sound difference with the recon controller it's like my headset came to life 🤣 ...they go so low and get sound problems with other controllera ...buy the recon controller if u want the full boost from them bad boys
Just got this and I think its the best headset ive had. I needed it wired through a 3.5mm cable because of how I split my sound to my recording pc. Its amazing that it has mic monitoring (sidetone) without using a usb adapter or soundcard. Also love the fact that it has a built in battery to amplify sound. The controls being on the headset is another plus. I hate how the controls being on the cable get stuck on my desk sometimes with other headsets. Its like everything I was looking for in a headset. I was looking at Razer, Hyper X, Logitech, Corsair, Steelseries. They all had something that was a dealbreaker for me, even the more expensive ones. This ones have everything I needed, and theyre comfortable too. Im on PC so I cant advantage of the adapter with the superhuman hearing. Maybe I can download some software that can mimic this.

I got a PS5 a few months ago and I got a Recon 200 for Christmas. It is very good, I highly recommend it, it sounds good and clear and the mic is also very good considering its so far from your face. Would definitely upgrade to it.
I still have my Gen 1s and theyre still as new. Only downside is battery life, but overall solid pair of headset if you dont want to spend over $100+ and the mic quality is awesome as well.

I had the gen 1 and they sounded pretty damn good but that ridiculously flimsy headband it has hurt my head to the point that I just gave them away to my nephew. I could not wear them. Not even ten minutes wearing them the deep dull pain would start..terrible.

Wireless and aux is super convenient for the Xbox headset. Even though I like the sound quality and mic quality much more on the 200 Gen 2, it doesn’t have the same versatility. I think it will be up to you at that point. Also look at the Stealth 600 Gen 2 and LucidSound LS15X at that price point.

Out of the box I actually like the Recon 200 Gen 2 more. If you have the ability to tune the Recon 500 audio via Windows or Xbox Atmos app, I like the Recon 500 more. When using the Recon controller, I think the Recon 500 has more overall potential.
I have had my headset (recon 150) for maybe 5 years (?) and it’s has started giving me issues like one side not always working and I need to fumble around with the volume thing on my cable to get both sides to work again. So I’m thinking about either getting a recon 70 or a recon 200, I’m leaning more towards the 200 but my headset rn still works so I really want to wait till Christmas before I buy either. I want to know how much better the 200 is than the 70

No you have to charge the headset for the mic to work sadly but Nt can be perfect. I have a pair and trust me these headset are amazing idc if I have to charge it

Would you recommend these Recon 200 Gen 2 over the Turtle Beach Recon 500? The 500 are on sale right now for $59 and I was really thinking of getting them until saw this review. I just got the recon 70 yesterday and the sound of my own voice is too muffled. The chat is really good on it however and I actually got complements on the quality of my voice coming through and lack of background noise, compared to my old $15 recon chat only version, but not being able to hear myself clearly is driving me crazy 😜lol. Thinking of returning them for the 500 or the 200 gen 2 but not sure which would be better. Thanks for this informative video and any help would be appreciated.
Recon 500 has a better mic and is more comfortable. The Recon 200 has a more traditional gaming headset sound with boosted bass and treble, but overall still sounds good. The Recon 500 has no mic monitoring built in, so if you want to hear yourself clearly in your headset, go with the 200 Gen 2!

All you need to do is plug it into your controller. Set the controller volume near max, the. Use the volume adjustment and switch on your Recon 200 Gen 2.
@@xxthimithebossxx1571 with the switch off, it works when plugged into a controller and the mic mute switch is off. If on PC, you need to make sure you can use a TRRS port (single port that does mic and audio)

I love my gen 1 and single thing I dislike about it is fake leather, I am def buying gen 2 now because I really love this headset
The thing for me though is that cordless is so much nicer without a stupid cord hanging down connected to a controller.
Under $100 then look at Arctis 1 Wireless or something like the Stealth 600 Gen 2.

@@xxthimithebossxx1571 with the switch off, it works when plugged into a controller and the mic mute switch is off. If on PC, you need to make sure you can use a TRRS port (single port that does mic and audio)
