UPDATE: I've been providing feedback to TB regarding concerns. Rear button mapping to both L3/R3 thumb sticks is coming in a firmware update soon!! I know this is a massive concern for you many (rightly so), so I wanted to give you all an update. My apologies for not discussing this in my review. I'm getting more info regarding polling rate and OC support as well and will update this comment. My other feedback for the thumb stick options and on board custom EQ is also being looked into.

Wireless polling seems to be 250hz when I was testing. Didn’t get a chance to see if it would over clock wireless/wired. I’ll have to try it tonight

Could you also raise the question about the ability to rebind more then just the back buttons such as the thumb sticks itself? Binding the back buttons to thumbsticks is great for many but useless if you can't rebind the thumbsticks to something else or turn them off. I find it odd this is something only some companies have offered . The elite kinda has this issue. But it offers keyboard binds which is GIANT for CoD as you can bind both controller and keyboard binds to take advantage of certain binds otherwise wouldn't be possible (dive only, slide only, emergency ping etc), a shame Elite only does this for the paddles and not the face buttons etc. Great review!

Almost perfect, but I like the paddles way too much to want to switch. If you came out with a paddle version I would buy it.

I also appreciate your MS Elite controller comments as I thought I was mispressing the buttons. I shall earmark this controller, but for now, the GameSir is my goto. First of all great review! Covered everything important, very in depth. I just picked one up and after using it for a week, i have to say its amazing. I like having an extended right stick for fps games so i bought aftermarket stick caps and its now perfect. Would highly recommend!

To me the best controller I’ve ever used is the razor wolverine tournament edition. Feels comfortable holding it, it’s slightly bigger than a regular Xbox controller, and the 2 added bumper buttons come in handy when playing bf or cod. I don’t ever need to worry about charging a battery cause it’s wired. And I don’t need to ever take my thumbs off the thumbsticks to press the D-pad to switch to whatever I need. Just use my index fingers to switch to a rocket or grenade etc.

I am a PC gamer that uses mostly keyboard and mouse, but for the life of me I cannot play racing games without a controller. Plus nowadays many other games are recommended with controller too. My old (Logitech) controller broke long ago(right stick is completely busted), and I was looking for a replacement that would last a long time, but I saw many bad reviews on the Xbox Elite controllers, so I decided to wait. This might be finally something worth spending money on.

Great review! I dont know if i missed it or not but did you cover the polling rate of the controller? Im just curious because if its locked at 124hz its a no go for me. Hoping that its 250hz, even if i have to run it wired only im fine with that.

I have had the Wolverine v2 Razer for about a yr and a month and it’s working still perfectly fine.
I thought the Stealth Wireless headset was really good on console, and that surprised me a lot coming from Turtle Beach since, in my mind, they've always been the budget option with cheap plastics and not great, but passable audio. I tried that headset though last year and was thoroughly impressed. I had my issues with it here and there, but there are incredibly few headsets for gaming that I'll say justify a $~300 pricetag.
It looks like this controller also aims to impress and given your review; I think it just might. I really hope people can look past their perceptions of Turtle Beach (if they think about them like I used to) and give this controller a chance. I've seen a lot of vitriol on forums bashing this thing before it's even out and in the general population's hands and it's sad to see. It really looks like they're doing the right things for players to make competitive peripherals in the premium space.
No, they were rubbish. had stealth 600 and 700. It's cheap plastic waste for the money. big mistake buying this. now scuf Controller and Astro Headset. 1000x better

man, i've had the elite series 1 since early 2018 & not once did i have any issues with stick drift, nor did i have any issues in my stock controls from 2016 either. Ironically, in august i purchased a PS5 & 50 days later my duel sense got stick drift, safe to say i'm back on Series X with my new Series 2. Great video, aside from a few things where you seemed very bias on some things, & seeemed to knit picks, this was a great review!
Waiting for it to release in Belgium been using Elite and Elite V2 Since they came out but the LB/RB's brake insanely fast with good care and of course the stick drift.

I've been using Razer xbox controllers for years and i totally agree about the micro switches on the buttons. So much better feeling to press. Hopefully the next elite controller has them and hall effect sticks. Would be a huge upgrade.
I hope the next Elite controller has an 'A' button that works consistently.

I wonder how good the quality is as in, will face buttons start to get stuck (like Elite) or just have to be pressed way too firmly (Elite), will the sticks become wobbly (Elite are out of the box)? And how's battery life?

The Amazon reviews make mention problems with the anti-friction ring and the Dpad. Did you experience those? Also is the dpad replaceable like on the elite?
Back buttons look very similar to the Scuf instinct layout. I love the Instinct Pro so I might have to pick this one up.
I expect hall effect sticks to cost more. So maybe the newer controllers will actually have hall sticks triggers and maybe improved dpads and buttons along with bumpers in order to charge the premium price
Is the tension on the analog sticks heavy or light ?
The problem i had with the recon wireless controller was when connected to PC you hsd to use other programs to make the buttons work in games outside steam.
Does it work out of the box for everything this time?
I received this controller yesterday. Ordered from turtle beach. Feels good in my limited testing. For my hands I prefer this button layout and position over the scuf envision.
Software definitely needs to be updated. My triggers didn’t work out of the box. I had to factory reset the controller twice with the little pin hole in the back. After that I haven’t had any weird hardware bugs.
Thanks for sharing Garrett. Hopefully that's not a common issue, as mine worked fine out of the box. I almost didn't want to apply the firmware update because it worked so well originally.

Well, technically, the co stroller doesn't come out until the 15th, the firmware will probably be updated then.
@@dmoore396yeah true. They did have a firmware update already. I didn’t test before I updated it. I got the controller software and updated after. Maybe they’ll release an addition firmware update Friday.
Thanks for the video, i have just purchased this controller and honestly ive had nothing but issues with it i.e setup and mapping buttons. also quick tip dont remap whilst in a game, it seems to stop the pad working in game and you have to restart it, well thats my experience.

Question; the mic audio settings..do they only work when mic is connect to controller? I have wireless headset with dongle plugged into pc tower. Could wireless headset work if plugged into base charger( which could be connected to pc)?

can you map the back buttons to functions? I like to have a back button mapped to pause my music on xbox for when i need to lock in
This will be my next gamepad purchase, after having issues with stickdrift on 3 high end controllers I wouldn´t consider anything without hall effect sticks.
Currently I have the guli kit king kong 2 and gamesir t4 kaleid, so this will fit nicely in the collection.
might get one at some point, only thing that would make this perfect for me is if the screen was touch and doubled as a mouse pad for when your on computer. Reason is cause I use my computer as a full entertainment system.
Do you still have this? Could you do a follow up after extensive use? A lot of people are expressing concerns about stick friction and connectivity problems.
Wry thorough review- I would have liked to heard more about latency though… I can tell a real difference between playing plugged in or wireless with the elite on the pc.
Does the beach controller back paddles come off or do they lock ? What if I don’t want to use them ?

have you still been using this controller? any updates? i need a new PC controller, my Elitev2 is falling apart. i see mainly negative "actual" reviews from customers about this controller. have you gotten the "Grinding" on the left stick many people have stated. also battery is awful? disconnection dropping out? I spent like 20 mins on google trying to find tech specs about this controller and i can not find any. what Gen is the Hall Effects? i have seen that if its not JH16? they are old gen and awful etc. (im sure id turn off the led's and screen if possible to help battery)

So they build a controller that is super durable but with a built in battery that you can not switch right?
I feel like when it comes to "pro" controllers there's a lot of factors at play to determine if it's right for you, but it is critically important for the rear buttons to be comfortable to use effectively.
I returned mine today. I couldn't get past the rear buttons plus the battery life sucks.

Okay, so i get this controller about 5 days ago and i tested it hard in The Finals / Forza Motorsport/ Cyberpunk. First of all i must agree that controller is really light but the bouild quality is top noch. The buttons are fantastic- clicky but not in a weird way like Scuf controllers. Trigger stops are great and overall ergonomic is a big thing there. However, the thing that makes me put this controller over Elite Series2 is the ability to set the deadzone of the stick to 0 without any problems such as stick drift. Anything you want to do in any type of game , this controller will do best. It is precise as hell. Even if you think about accesories like Kontrol Freaks- it fits fine (the stick is maybe about milimeter smaller than a standard controller, but there is no movement than may cost lack of stability). Overall this controller set a new standard in terms of competitive gaming. I love it
I do have a glitch one time, that controller just turned off for some reason but after update (must be done by PC, smarphone app or Xbox need some work there), everything works fine. Battery life is about 10-12 h with RGB and Bluetooth on.
How does this compare to the Scuf Reflex FPS and Scuf Envision in terms of just playing FPS games not all the headset/mic options

Dude! when you said the right bumper is starting to go out, that's the same issue I've had. In fact, I had the same issue with two series 1 controllers, and series 2. I'm on my second series 2 and it's the same right bumper issue.

How exactly does the Dynamic setting for the RGB work?
I love my Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma, I'm still debating if I want to give the Stealth Ultra a try. I hate the wire on the Razer but love the response time.
Ohh oke nice bit the Buttons under are not nice in the mitle i think. And why they chance the Party mixer and Volume in the opposite of the Xbox headset? There is volume right and Mixer left from my Head.

I realise the switches are not a pair like the Recon - how easy it is to hit P2 and P3? I think that would trouble me .
My left bumper on my elite 2 started missing clicks and then eventually got so bad that it rarely registered. A couple drops of 91% ISO alcohol right down into the bumper buttons and then pressing it 30 or so times real fast. Make sure the controller is OFF when you do this and give it 20 mins or so [depending on temp and air movement, i put mine in front of my fan or heater if i really need to get back in the game lol] for the alcohol to evaporate before turning it back on. Longer if using lower percentage ISO alcohol although i wouldn't recommend using any under 91%. Although this is all sort of irrelevant in a way due to this video and other controllers out there i just figured maybe i could help someone who can't afford a new controller right away. Same method works for the analog sticks if they're drifting.... Atleast for a few months or weeks. Anyways, i just built my first PC so I'm trying to get used to M&K lol but this controller and the new scuf PC only controller both seem pretty cool. Maybe scuf got their shit together finally? Lol ....... Nah prolly not😏

I love mine. First time touching it made me shiver with ecstacy. Also really did the colour, otherwise it has everything and more or better then other elite controlers. ( and I have them all so I'm speaking from hands on experience)

I'm on my 3rd elite v2 as well - all three of them have failing RB buttons right out of the box and two have stick drift
Fixed my RB 2 nights ago using a TH-cam video, also tackled cleaning the potentiometer on the left stick.
It's actually surprisingly easy to do, don't be intimidated.
Just be sure to have 91% alcohol Qtips, tweezers and a #4 security torx, a regular torx will do but it will shave the security post away which will only matter if it's still under warranty.
Have my replacement Stealth Ultra in shipment, 1st one right trigger snapped and collapsed. They told me to get rid of the broken one but I'm considering buying a cheap TB for its trigger instead😉

Watch how many controller companies steal this patent design,being able to do everything on the screen saves time, and connectivity. this is by far the most advanced controller with all these new features I’ve never seen on a high-end controller, which is crazy because I have the first turtle beach controller layout is exactly like this except it’s not digital🤲🏾. Control freak has extended thumb pads if you need long stick feel
How will this work with the settings of my Turtle Beach Stealth Pro? It has app support plus EQ customization. Does one supersede the other? Seems redundant if you have a high-end headset with available EQ settings. Plus......most FPS games have all these customization settings built into the game settings. Anyway..... a great video.
You have to use a wired headset with it for the sound settings on the controller to work not a wireless one.
yeah those two are seperate things. This is only for when you have an analog headset like a Recon 500 plugged directly into the controller, which has no electronics on board for EQ. Your Stealth Pro will continue to function the way it always does!

My main complaint with the elite are the bumpers I’ve had mine for less than a year and right bumper is already gone also never dropped it and there’s some smoothness lost on the left thumb stick

My only complaint is the handles. I play for long periods at a time and I would have hoped that the handles had that rubber grip sides instead of the slippery when sweating metalic matrerial
The mic pre amp on the TB sounds very compressed. Probably helps with noise reduction, but sounds much less natural than the Elite controller.
