    Collaging can be so daunting because of the endless possibilities, but you really helped me with the various positioning and alignments. I'm so glad I watched

    As a vintage magazine collector it does hurt me seeing magazines get cut out, but the end result is what makes it worth it, aswell as the creativity of it.

      hehe yep. That's why I called myself the Red Wizard, (like the red woman from GoT) I am sacrificing things, to hopefully make cooler things. there are some mags that I can't get myself to cut tho.

    Thanks! I love to collage too, and haven’t done much for several years now, and miss it. But at the moment, I simply cannot add to the stuff I already have from my other creative ventures, including a lot of vintage collectibles that I’ve decided to destash from and not try to resell. But it’s great when you can come across fantastic antique and vintage ephemera to add to your stash. It’s so much fun. ☝️The only warning I would say is this: you need to be actively doing collage or all that collecting can add up fast to a small (or large) hoard and you’ll likely lose track of all the great pieces you even have.

      you are correct. I have an insane amount of certain magazines i don't think i will ever use. knowing what you like is important too.

    I'm actually thinking of getting into collage in a bit of a reversal from what you're talking about here. I live in my grandparents' house thats full of TONS of old magazines and I hate to just throw them all out, so why not give collage a try? We'll see if i get into it or not. You seem like you have a lot of great advice so I'll give you a sub!

    this is the 1st "collage" video i've seen (why didn't i do a search for collage content?!). i'm looking forward to watching your videos. i love paper of all kinds & make cards & do scrapbooking w/photos. lately, as I became bed bound 3 yrs. ago, i've been doing a lot of collage & doing what comes naturally. i need to get my x-acto knife out - looks way easier than my scissors although i'm working in bed & would need some kind of work surface. you've taught me something new already! thanx

      working directly on wood boards, game boards, and hardbook covers may be a good route. they are stiff enough that your background becomes a work surface.

      thanx! great idea & my mom goes to thrift stores often so she can find some books or game boards for me.

    Love your channel, just discovered it this week. Are you able to do a vid on what happens after you've finished your collage and stuck it to your card stock. Where do you keep it, how do you preserve it, etc. I know you also sell your pieces as posters etc. That side of art collage would help so many of us. Thanks Red Wizard. 🙏☺⭐☪

    Beautiful work! I need to know where I'd potentially stand if i used old music press images in decoupage to create new, saleable products. Hard to find a definitive answer. Any advice?

    • @TheRedWizzzard
      @TheRedWizzzard  ปีที่แล้ว

      Collage and the law is very vague. I would stay away from press images. Much do that stuff would be owned by the band or the record label.

    Who owns the copyright of the photos in your collage.

    • @TheRedWizzzard
      @TheRedWizzzard  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      this is a complicated question that really can only be decided by an analysis of each individual collage. but generally speaking, you have to be careful not to use other people's images when mass-producing work.

    • @elisenispee7450
      @elisenispee7450 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The reason of the question was an article in the Artist magazine, a recent Supreme Court ruling that Warhol violated the copyright law , Warhol infringed on the photographer’s photo of Prince in Warhol’s work.
