I've been stagnant in creating. I came across your videos and it got me out of bed and into my studio. I gathered all my materials and did three collages on small canvases. I'm in love.
I am a messy artist which doesn’t annoy me except when I have to use glue. I found this in a search watched it and two more videos straight through. For the first time in way too long I actually finished a project and these videos were a huge boost. I’m so glad I found this account!!!

I’ve recently become intrigued with the concept of collaging. I’ve been learning as much as I can about before I start for the first time. I think this type of art will be very good for me to be able to release my creativity in ways I’ve never done. I love to draw and I find I need everything to be precise and planned. It’s not in my nature to be spontaneous at all. So I’m looking forward to starting this new art form and letting myself let go of my need to always have everything neat and organized! I have experimented with collage since watching some of your videos. I liked your idea of using black and white paper. I went through some old magazines and newspapers and cut out unused cross word puzzles. I then ran them through a copier, enlarging some and leaving some normal size. They make interesting patterns for background.

I have tried and tried again to get my feelings onto canvas, I now realise that I've been too uptight and aiming for perfection instead of enjoying the process.
I discovered collage in high school... but not in my art classes. Then didn't get back to it until now, at 70! When you scraped the paint off the first time, revealing those b&w lines, I gasped in delight! Thank you so much for a seminal moment in my collage adventure! I love your sense of play and freedom--and love of surprise!

This is the way I assemble quilt tops. Collect bags of scraps, then sew them together. It's much more fun than cutting patterns.
