Well it's about time someone did a video on this!
Great video Bryan!
The visible Church is the formal vehicle for teaching the Faith. And as Michael Lofton has said, how do protestants get to a canon without the Church.
The apostles through the Holy Spirit wrote scripture to guide the Church when they were alive and to preserve their teachings in changeable format after they died. The Church received the NT canon, with the Old Covenant writings to form the entire rule of faith. There is no infallible writings outside the revelation from the prophets and apostles.
The Church doesn't have the authority to change the canon it received, it cannot change the writings of the apostles.
@@yajunyuan7665 the books in question aren’t the writings of the apostles and the canon of scripture that was copied and recopied for 1500 years in Catholic monasteries scattered across Europe, copied and preserved the books Protestants removed after 1500 years.
@@michaelibach9063 but did the catholic church originate those writings ?
its one thing to find, collect and safe guard its another to claim authority over actual content written on them
i have heard claims that the catholic religious organisation can edit, govern interpretation and even distribution and access to the original documents especially in the past
@@cedriceric9730 there’s only two choices. Orthodoxy or Catholicism. One of these has to be the true faith. No other organization on earth can claim ownership of scripture. Every Protestant is essentially a thief, having stolen the scriptures from Catholicism and orthodoxy.
If Catholicism and orthodoxy haven’t received scripture from the apostles and are all thieves as well. Then Jesus lied and the whole thing is meaningless. As His Church was destroyed and the gates of hell actually did prevail over it.
If Catholicism or orthodoxy are false religions, then there is no reason to trust the Bible they hand copied for centuries. It could have been edited at any point, the truth corrupted and the truth lost.
Yajun, the Apostle for already guiding the church long before they started writing the scriptures because they have the authority from Christ to lead and guide the church. The Bible is not made for 400 years, so by your logic the church could not have been guided. The reality is the only wrote some of the deposit of Faith which Jesus gave them down into the scriptures. They did not write everything. Because Jesus did not start a book, he started teaching and preaching authoritative church.
Jesus being THE truth means that truth outside Christianity is talking about Jesus, in fact everyone can speak the truth but no one is the truth but Jesus, so when youre saying truths, youre speak the Word, Which is Jesus, this knowledge helped me alot in my discernment.
Yesterday in India was celebrated as Saint Thomas day becoz the Glorious Apostle came to India n spread Christianity n today we are Christians becoz of him Amen

Great video. Im a catholic myself and didn't know alot of these things.
I always think about how St. Thomas went to India spread Christianity/Catholicism which to this day hasn't changed too much. There are some divisions but not many and those are usually are newer denominations. But how the US/UK have so many divisions to me is ridiculous.
@@veritasmuy2407way to jump to conclusions and make assumptions. What if I said " Soo.... You reject the warning of Peter and Paul, that denominations should not happen." It was my opinion that I considered the vast number of denominations ridiculous in America compared to south india- as in wow and why so many. This is like today's American culture - hey if you don't agree with me you're racist 😂 or in this case hell bound 😂. Bruh
Hi I was raised catholic at a younger age but don’t remember much and I want to learn more about my religion. Thank you for making these videos❤
You are very welcome. You will learn a ton on this channel if you go back and just watch our videos.
Hi! I’ve recently became a Catholic this May, and I haven’t felt this beautiful spiritual feeling and conscious before. I have a few questions though.
1. Is it okay to pray the rosary without wanting to do so. There are times where I want to pray the rosary but there are other times where I feel like not doing it, (and then there’s that remorseful guilt jumping in.)
2. When praying the rosary, sometimes I tend to make mistakes or miss out a prayer…does it count against me? Is that rosary no longer valid then?
3. Do I have to pray for those whom I detest? Is it a sin to not want to pray for someone?
It’s okay to pray to rosary if you don’t want, in fact it’s something good and worth admiring. The rosary is for God.
1. Prayer is important, especially when you don’t want to. Discipline is a trademark of being a disciple.
2. Your mindset is more important than perfect recitation.
3. Praying for friends is good, praying for enemies is better. The first is easy, the second is hard, but the second also makes us more like Jesus Christ.
As for it being sinful to not want to pray for someone. I wouldn’t worry about that. I would worry about why you wouldn’t want to. I’m going to suggest it’s probably because you haven’t truly forgiven the person. We are called to love our enemies. It’s impossible to love an enemy we haven’t forgiven. Once you can love them, it’s easier to pray for them.
Truth & Life App
Luke 23:34
34 And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." And they cast lots to divide his garments.
We are called to be like Christ. This we cannot do without His help, so ask for it.
I hope Bryan doesn’t mind me, a fellow Catholic, answering your questions.
Welcome to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, my sibling in Christ! May Our Lord continue blessing you!
Prayer for most people does not come easily. It can sometimes feel dry or empty, but is always worshiping God and receiving grace. Persistence in anything we do forms good habits, like regular exercise, good sleeping habits. Prayer orders your life’s priorities.
Making mistakes while praying the Rosary does not count against us. God is so pleased you make the time and effort to be with Him, that he is more interested in the content of your heart than the content of your prayer, as he knows what you are thinking even before you think it.
Jesus taught us to pray for those who hurt and persecute us. However it is sometimes too difficult to even think about some people, let alone pray for them. May I suggest you write such names in your prayer journal, so you don’t have to name them during prayer. The good Lord knows and reads the yearnings of your heart.
@Mind yo business ...... Don't feel guilty about not having prayed the Rosary because the Catholic Church does not teach that it is a sin not to pray the Rosary. No, it's not. St. Louis de Montfort, in his book The Secret of the Rosary, says that it is NOT a sin not even a venial sin NOT to pray the Rosary.
Mind you business- Welcome home! I think people have sufficiently answer your questions, but if you have more let us know.
Also, check out some of the videos we have on the rosary. Especially this one which will answer some of your questions and concerns. th-cam.com/video/UbjkO6vazfs/w-d-xo.html

So, Again, Greek Orthodox Here, I Really Like How you Presented Christ Being The Only Way To Heaven, How you Presented Christ's Death, Burial, And Resurrection As The Means For Salvation. I Was Saved Protestant When I Was Thirteen Years Old, A few years before that, I had attended a Roman Catholic school, and I guess one of the nuns we had taught us that Christ sinned. Christ Is The Pure, Lamb Of God, He could never sin, so why would this nun teach us that?
That nun is nuts. That's heresy. Sorry you even heard that.

John chapter 6 verse 52 and 53 Jesus said you have to eat this bread or you have no life in you….
Great work Brian and Team. I have been working to encourage my brother to return to our Catholic Faith since he was raised Catholic but is now protestant.
Maybe your brother began reading scripture for himself and not follow the rcc teachings like a zombie. Please do him a favour, don't encourage him to come back to this pagan "church" which teaches many heresies; rather you "GET OUT OF HER BEFORE ITS TOO LATE", so proclaims the Lord!
Good job! Keep lovingly encouraging them. Sharing with him. Sharing what you learned. And of course praying for him.
lucky guy unlike you.
i assure you heretical lies wont get into heaven.
if youre truly saved then youll enter heaven with absolutely nothing
tell him this Jesus said in John 6 35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. He went on to say 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Paul chimes in “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? And this 27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. How can this be a symbol by sinning against the body and blood of the Lord? It is’t The Host hand the wine have turned into real flesh and real blood over 150 times.. Always the same flesh - left ventricle of a heart and the blood always AB Pos.
Paul never referred to saints as dead saints in heaven.
Paul wrote to believers whom he called saints.
Saints means holy ones. The ones in heaven Are Holy also.

Some of what you said felt alittle contradicting or confusing but all of it definitely helped me learn and understand more
Genuinely curious, what part?
Thank you for this valuable information...
I just have one question..last sunday when my family and me went to church there was an apologetic portion before the proper mass began it was first time in our parish...i was amazed by the speakers for their knowledge about the bible but his one statement made me sad because he said that when we follow God's commandments we go directly to heaven no doubt about it..😪😪😪
Oh so you would rather disobey Gods Commandment and get a free p-ass to heaven 1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.😃
You don’t get to heaven by obeying God, you get to heaven by trusting in the finished redemptive work of Christ and once you do that and are saved then you will go to heaven, look at the theif on the cross, he didn’t do anything except believing in Christ and he got saved.. then once Christ saves you and you have been Born of his spirit which comes by faith not water baptism then his spirit changes you and enables you to obey God.. it’s the fruit from being saved.. no man on earth could ever be perfect enough to try and earn there place in heaven and so it’s only by faith in Christ that you are saved and once you believe then his spirit changes you and enables you to obey God..
The Catholic Church is teaching a false gospel and there’s no such thing as purgatory, you can only get to heaven by trusting in Christ and nothing else.. anything else denies the gospel and adds works and Paul said that once you do that ‘Galatians 5;3’ then you fall from grace and Christ is of no use to you..
@@jesussaves3054 Cant find this in the bible
ou don’t get to heaven by obeying God, you get to heaven by trusting in the finished redemptive work of Christ ..
Christ says in Matthew that, like Jonah, he would be in the belly of the earth for 3 days. Acts tells us Christ remained on earth for 40 days before He ascends. So there were 43 days BEFORE Christ went to Heaven. Did the good thief go ahead of the Lord to make sure the lights were on for His arrival? Or, more likely, Paradise that Christ mentions, is Abrahams Boosom. The place where the prisoners Christ preached to in 1st Peter were awaiting the Messiah😊
@@biblealone9201 it’s obvious as you read the bible Ephesians 2:8 that it’s by faith and not works.. I pray you read it and romans 10 which tells you that if you confess the lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead then you will be saved.. (nothing else to add to it) and so by believing in what Jesus has done then you are saved.. also the regeneration work of the Holy Spirit changes you enabling you to walk in Gods ways…it’s not a work that you can do on your own..
Look at Adam and Eve after they sinned, they tried to cover up there shame by works but couldn’t do it and so God took an animal (a picture of Christ) and he covered there shame.. and it’s the same with us.. only by faith in Jesus are our sins washed away and forgiven and we don’t earn Gods grace as this according to romans 11:5 would no longer be grace..
Also Jesus is God and never ceased to be God and so by telling the thief that he would be with him on that day (he didn’t lie) he was with the father and Jesus who are one.. the father is in the son and the son is in the father even if in bodily form he wasn’t there.. how else do you think Jesus is omnipresent and hears all our prayers.. should also make you think that praying to Mary and other dead saints since there not God is pointless as they can’t hear you.. Jesus didn’t say anything about purgatory as there’s no such place.. you either have Gods righteousness imputed to you or your wages of sin will be death as your never be good enough.. don’t be deceived..
Abraham’s bosom and the Lazarus story is a picture of hell.. there’s no in between, Jesus said if you die in sin then you go to hell but who the son sets free is free indeed.. it’s by faith that your saved apart from works and then the Holy Spirit who is given to you upon that confession of faith and so once you stop trusting in your own works that you are saved..and able to do good works.. it doesn’t save but is the fruit that comes from being saved..
@@jesussaves3054 Its obvious you don't read the bible . For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Ever hear of Sheol or Hades that’s were the word was derived from in Latin "purgatorio" Purgatory The Greek word used for fire is "" (puroo) of which "pur" is the root word for Purgatory. a translation of Hades and Sheol. By the way The word Trinity and Easter Isn’t in the Bible either where did they come from …..

The Abode of the Just - Abraham's Bosom (Lk 16:22-26) This is where they awaited their promised deliverance.
Gehenna (Greek): This is the lake of fire. Eternal damnation (Mt:18:9)
The good guys went to the Abode of the Just (Abraham's Bosom), the bad guys when to gehenna. There was a great chasm between the two places and there was no way to get to one side from the other. (Mt:18:9). Christ descended into hell on Good Friday so he could rescue the righteous from the part of hell where the righteous were.(1 Pt 3:18-19) Jesus is the only way to Heaven so it was important that he descended to the dead. (Jn 14:6) Jesus didn't go to hell as a dead guy. He went there as the Saviour. Jesus blew down the doors of the Abode of the Just and grabbed out every faithful servant of God from the beginning of history. He rescued them and freed them from this prison on Holy Saturday. Praise God! That must have been a great party.
After Adam's sin, the gates of Heaven were closed, and no one was allowed to enter (John 3:13) until Jesus Christ redeemed the human race and opened the gates once again. Where were the spirits of Moses and Elias, who appeared and spoke with Jesus at the transfiguration (Matthew 17:3)? They could not have been in Heaven since it was closed, and they would have been lost had they been in hell. They had to have been in a third place. If there was a third place then, why not a third place now?
What about Lazarus? He was already dead four days (John 11:17) when Jesus arrived at his tomb. Where was his soul during those four days? It could not be heaven or hell for the same reasons as for Moses and Elias.
His soul had to have been in a third place.
Philippians 2:10 says:
"That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bend of those in Heaven, on earth, and 'under the earth'."
'Under the earth', could it mean hell, or is it a third place?
Non Catholic theologians struggle trying to reconcile their denial of the existence of Purgatory with what Paul said in 1Corinthians 3:12-15:
"Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw- each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire*."
To whom do these verses refer? Obviously the person is not in hell, as verse 15 says "himself will be saved". He cannot be in heaven either as the same verse implies suffering, "as through fire", and there is no suffering in heaven. These verses say that man will be purified by fire and then will be saved to enter Heaven. Where will this, "yet as though through fire", take place if not in a third place called Purgatory?
"And who shall be able to think of the day of His coming? And who shall stand to see Him? For HE IS LIKE A REFINING FIRE, and like the fuller's herb; AND HE SHALL SIT REFINING AND CLEANSING THE SILVER. AND HE SHALL PURIFY THE SONS OF LEVI, AND SHALL REFINE THEM AS GOLD, AND AS SILVER, and they shall offer sacrifices to the Lord in justice."
Malachi 3:2-3
"...Strike the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered; and I will turn My hand to the little ones. And they shall be in all the earth, said the Lord, TWO PARTS IN IT SHALL BE SCATTERED, AND SHALL PERISH, BUT THE THIRD PART SHALL BE LEFT THEREIN. AND I WILL BRING THE THIRD PART THROUGH THE FIRE, AND WILL REFINE THEM AS SILVER IS REFINED, AND I WILL TRY THEM AS GOLD IS TRIED. THEY SHALL CALL ON MY NAME, AND I WILL HEAR THEM. I WILL SAY: YOU ARE MY PEOPLE. AND THEY SHALL SAY; THE LORD IS MY GOD."
Zechariah 13:7-9
"As silver is tried by fire, and gold in the furnace, so the Lord tries the hearts."
Proverbs 17:3.
The metal refiner watches the silver, for if the process is longer than necessary, the silver will be harmed.
"He shall sit refining and cleansing the silver. And he shall purify the sons of Levi, and shall refine them as gold, and as silver..."
Malachi 3:3.
HE KNOWS THE PROCESS IS COMPLETE WHEN HE CAN SEE HIS OWN IMAGE REFLECTED IN THE SILVER.
GOD SAID, "LET US MAKE MANKIND IN OUR IMAGE AND LIKENESS."
Genesis 1:26
"...Woe is me, because I have held my peace; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people that has unclean lips, and I have seen with my eyes the King of the Lord of Hosts. And one of the Seraphims flew to me, and in his hand was a live coal, which he had taken with the tongs off the altar. And he touched my mouth and said, 'BEHOLD THIS HAS TOUCHED YOUR LIPS, AND YOUR INIQUITIES SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY, AND YOUR SIN SHALL BE CLEANSED'." Isaiah 6:5-7
What can this possibly mean other than a purgation of sins through fire?
In 1Peter 3:19, Christ preached to the spirits in prison. What spirits? What prison? We will become pure spirits only after we die, so the spirits have to be the spirits of the dead. Prison cannot mean Heaven, and souls in hell are lost forever. Prison must mean a third place.
1Peter 4:6, the Gospel was preached "even to the dead". Again, where were these dead?
Matthew 12:32, "...but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him either in this world or in the world to come." This passage alludes to another world in which some sins will be forgiven. What other world? Again it could not be either Heaven or hell.
Hebrews 12:23, "...and to the Church of the Firstborn who are enrolled in the heavens, and to GOD, THE JUDGE OF ALL AND TO THE SPIRITS OF THE JUST MADE PERFECT."
We have already seen from Revelation 21:27 that nothing imperfect will enter heaven, and in Hebrews 12:23, the spirits of the just are made perfect. Revelation 22:14 shows that there will be a cleansing before admission to the tree of life and entrance through the gates of the city. Where will all of this happen if not in a third place?
"For everyone shall be salted with fire, and every victim shall be salted."
Mark 9:48.
What fire, but the purification fire of Purgatory?
"But that servant who knew his masters will, and did not make ready for him and did not act according to his will, will be beaten with many stripes."
Luke 12:47.
Are people beaten in Heaven? Those in hell are lost, so where will this punishment be fulfilled?
Very strong evidence that a third place exists, is in 2Maccabees 12:38-46:
"...it is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to Pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins."
If there are only Heaven and hell, why then does Scripture ask us to pray for the dead? If the dead are in hell, prayer is useless. If the dead are in Heaven, prayer is not needed. Therefore there has to be a third place where prayers are needed.
St. Paul prayed for his dead friend Onesiphorus in 2Timothy 1:18,
"May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day."
Why would Paul pray for the dead if he thought his friend to be in heaven or hell where prayers would help neither?
The greatest torment in Purgatory is to be separated from GOD for a period of time. Remember, in this life we have five senses, and they are always a distraction for us when we try to concentrate on things of GOD such as prayer. After we leave this life, we are spirit and have lost our five senses. There are no more distractions.
Purgatory should be regarded as a great blessing from GOD. Even though souls there are in torment, it is only a temporary torment. All who go there are assured of eventually gaining the Kingdom of Heaven.
It sure beats the third alternative...✨

The Bible does not mention Catholic priests anywhere in the NT.
Yes, it does. It talks about bishops, priests, and deacons. If your church doesn't have these 3 offices, it's not the true church.
Bishops include Timothy and Titus (1 Tim. 5:19-22; 2 Tim. 4:5; Titus 1:5).
Priests (presbyters) 1 Tim. 5:17; Jas. 5:14-15).
Deacons: Acts 6:1-6
Priests (presbuteroi) are also known as “presbyters” or “elders.” In fact, the English term “priest” is simply a contraction of the Greek word presbuteros. They have the responsibility of teaching, governing, and providing the sacraments in a given congregation (1 Tim. 5:17; Jas. 5:14-15).

The prayer of a righteous man only refers to a living human righteous man.
The Bible doesn't say that. It just says the prayer of the righteous man. Any righteous man.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial So you have Catholic righteous men in Purgatory and in Hell?
We never said he wrote to Saints in heaven, yet Scripture talks about the Saints in heaven. Calling names shows that you have emotional issues, and name calling is not a substitute for facts.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Paul never wrote to any saints in heaven. And Paul did not pray to saints in heaven.
Paul witnessed the killing of Steven. If praying to saints is so important, as you claim, Paul would have told us that he prayed to Steven to ask forgiveness.

The Catholics claim that the pope alone has the key of heaven?
The pope must have different keys.
As a believer, I have the keys of heaven, and i can bind and loose spirits [Mt18v18].
Matthew 18 does not say you have keys. It doesn't even mention keys. Only one place in the entire New Testament mentions keys and that's the keys given to Peter by Jesus himself. And of course the keys that bind the devil which symbolize authority
@@CatholicTruthOfficial Where does it say that the keys are to bind the Devil?
Jesus explains exactly what the keys are in Mt16v19.
I deliberately quoted Mt18v18 as it is the same as the explanation in Mt16v19.
You Catholics cherry pick, but you never have an explanation for the context.
Now let us look at your favorite chap16 and see what it is about:
Jesus took them to a pagan temple with statues of gods. These statues were like Catholic statues.
Jesus asked: "Who do you say that I am".
Peter said: "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God" [Mt16v19- Syriac].
Peter was referring to Jesus, as not being associated with a statue on a wall.
We have the authority as believers.
When we do spiritual warfare, we bind the spirits or release them. Catholics claim that only a Catholic priest has this power. If they are the so-called only ones with this power, why don't they know how to use it?
We know how to use this power and we often make use of it, because Yeshua gave it to His Church.
The church that Yeshua was referring to is His true followers that do as He says. Why don't you Catholics do as He says?
Yet, it never says any of them received the keys. They all received a similar authority, but Peter received the keys. Show me the word keys in Mt. 18.
Jesus called PETER the ROCK and changed his name to Rock! He even calls him rock in other places like Jn. 1:42.
Catholics don't claim that only priests have this power, but priests can do full exorcisms of possession. You yourself cannot, and it wouldn't work.
@@CatholicTruthOfficial The Bible does not call driving out demons exorcism and it does not limit it to Catholic priests.
I have been used in the deliverance ministry for 35 years and many of us Messianics and Pentecostals operate in this gift.
And don't say that Catholic priests have exclusive power over demons. Who are you to say that it won't work? It won't work for you because you are ignorant. I have seen demons obey my word as I have the authority over them by Yeshua.

The Catholic Church is not the Church of Pentecost.
The Messianic church originates from Shavuot [Pentecost].

The Messianic church was started by Yeshua, and they have never changed and are still operating in all the gifts.
Catholicism invented the Dark Ages, and they are still in the Dark Ages.
There were over 30 Popes before 325 A.D. You really need to take a history course. Also, all the earliest Christians before 325 were Catholic. I'll list a few...
Cyprian of Carthage (251 A.D.): The Lord says to Peter: ‘I say to you,’ he says, ‘that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever things you bind on earth shall be bound also in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth, they shall be loosed also in heaven’ [Matt. 16:18-19]). ... *On Peter, he builds the Church, and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep [John 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity.* Indeed, the others were also what Peter was [apostles], *but a primacy is given to Peter, whereby it is made clear that there is but one Church and one chair.* So too, all [the apostles] are shepherds, and the flock is shown to be one, fed by all the apostles in single-minded accord. *If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he imagine that he still holds the faith? If he desert the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he still be confident that he is in the Church?* … There speaks Peter, upon whom the Church would be built, teaching in the name of the Church and showing that even if a stubborn and proud multitude withdraws because it does not wish to obey, yet the Church does not withdraw from Christ. The people joined to the priest, and the flock clinging to their shepherd in the Church. You ought to know, then, that the bishop is in the Church and the Church in the bishops; and if someone is not with the bishop, he is not in the Church. They vainly flatter themselves who creep up, not having peace with the priest of God, believing that they are secretly in communion with certain individuals. For the Church, which is one and Catholic is not split nor divided, but is indeed united and joined by the cement of priests who adhere one to another. … While the bond of concord remains and the indivisible sacrament of the *Catholic Church* continues, each Bishop disposes and directs his own work, as one who must give an account of his admiration to the Lord.
Clement of Alexandria (202 A.D.): From what has been said then, it seems clear to me that the true *Catholic Church* is really ancient is one. … We say therefore, that *in substance, in concept, in origin, and in eminence, the ancient and Catholic Church is alone,* gathering as it does into the unity of the one faith…those already chosen, those predestined by God who knew that before the foundation of the world, they would be just.
Tertullian (200 A.D.): If you are near Italy, you have *Rome - from where our authority derives.* How happy is that Church, on which apostles poured out their whole doctrine along with their blood, where Peter endured a passion like that of our Lord, where Paul was crowned with a death like John’s. … Where was Marcion, that shipmaster of Pontus, the zealous student of Stoicism? Where was Valentinus, the disciple of Platonism? For it is evident that those men lived not so long ago-in the reign of Antonius for the most part-and that *they at first were believers in the doctrine of the Catholic Church, in the church of Rome under the episcopate of the blessed Eleutherius,* [the 6th pope] until on account of their ever restless curiosity, with which they even infected the brethren, they were more than once expelled.
Irenaeus (180 A.D.): But since it would be too long to enumerate in such a volume as this the successions of all the churches, we shall confound all those who, in whatever manner, whether through self-satisfaction or vainglory, or through blindness and wicked opinion, assemble other than where it is proper, *by pointing out here the successions of the bishops of the greatest and most ancient church known to all, founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul* - _that church which has the tradition and the faith with which comes down to us after having been announced to men by the apostles._ For with this Church, because of its superior origin, all churches must agree, that is, all the faithful in the whole world. And it is in her that the faithful everywhere have maintained the apostolic tradition
The Martyrdom of Polycarp (155 A.D.): And of the elect, he was one indeed, the wonderful martyr Polycarp, who in our days was an apostolic and prophetic teacher, bishop of the Catholic Church in Smyrna. For every word which came forth from his mouth was fulfilled and will be fulfilled.
Ignatius of Antioch (110 A.D.) Let no one do anything of concern to the Church without the bishop. Let that be considered a valid Eucharist which is celebrated by the bishop or by one whom he ordains [i.e., a presbyter]. Wherever the bishop appears, let the people be there; just as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the *Catholic Church.*

It is the Roman church the only church to have kept written records of episcopal consecrations, but that record only goes back to Scipione Rebiba , 1566 CE. Seems needless to have two kinds in the Church when we have the Three in One in the Holy Spirit? He’s in heaven and sends the advocate but then he comes in the bread and wine too…
Yes they have the Holy Spirit in us, and we can have communion with the Holy spirit, but Jesus also comes into us in the Holy Communion and we can commune with him in a special way. In the new testament, God was present everywhere in the universe and anyone could commune with him, but he was present in a special way in the person of Jesus christ. Likewise, the Trinity is everywhere and we can commune with the almighty, but he is also present in a special way in the Eucharist by his design.

Dear Catholic Truth,
Can you explain in a video about the scriptures the Catholic Church threw out when composing the Bible? For instance like the Gospel of Thomas? Thanks!
We have explained that in past videos, but basically in short, the Catholic church only chose those books which were written in the first century, which could be authenticated to be written by eyewitnesses, and was in harmony with the tradition that was passed on from Jesus. The Gospel of Thomas and most all of the other Gnostic Gospels fail these three tests. None of them were written by actual Apostles or eyewitnesses, most were written centuries later, and the gnostics did not have a Christian Gospel which is why their books did not make it into the bible. In fact gnostics believed in a good God and a bad god, the evil god being the god of this world. Thus, all matter is evil, which is why they didn't believe Jesus came in a body. He was more like a ghost. There are many problematic aspects with the books that were rejected which is why they were not inspired Scripture.

Jesus did not start the Catholic Church.
The book of Acts is not at all reflected in the Catholic Church.
The real Messianic church which Jesus started is still the same as in the book od Acts.
Jesus started the Catholic Church, a teaching and preaching authoritative Church in the Rock of Peter and the apostles (Mt. 16:18-19, Mt. 18:15-18, 1 Cor. 12:28-30). He did not start a bible only church which removes all of the Protestant denominations. Rather he trained the disciples to be the leaders of the Church and gave them his authority (Mt. 28:19-20, Jn. 20:21-23) and said we 'must' listen to them. If we don't listen to this authority, then we reject Christ himself (Lk. 10:16, Heb. 13:17, 1 Thess. 5:12-13). They also passed on their authority to others through the laying on of hands. The church that Jesus started was teaching and preaching, correcting and reproving, and making doctrine before the New Testament even begun to be written (Acts. 16:4-5; Acts. 11:1-15; 1 Tim. 5:11; Eph. 4:11-12 and many more).
When you realize that Jesus didn't start a Bible only religion but started a teaching and preaching church, you will realize that it's the Catholic Church, the only church that goes back 2000 years to the first century. This was the same church that made and canonized the Bible in the first place.

She will teach us to follow His Son Jesus. She will form us to become another Jesus or like Jesus. The saints especially the great saints had great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The great saints said people (esp catholics) will have difficulty in obeying God and following Jesus if they set aside Mary in their lives or if they have no devotion to Mary.
@@danny.samayoa One of the great trials that God is giving to holy people is there will be times when God/Jesus will hide from them or they will not feel God in their lives. It's like God abandoned them already. Jesus did not leave them in reality but just hid from them TO TEST THEM. St. Therese had experienced this great trial. She told her sister that Jesus is hiding from her or she does not feel the presence of Jesus in her life. Her sister asked her if Mary hid from her as well. St. Therese replied, "NO! The Blessed Virgin Mary will NEVER be hidden from me for I love her too much!" Jesus will test us also and will at times hide from us. So if you don't feel His presence, ALWAYS go and pray to Mary because God will not allow her to be hidden from us. @@danny.samayoa God sent St. Francis de Sales great trial. He hid from him. The saint no longer feels God. Aside from not feeling anymore the presence of God in his life, God allowed him to be besieged by a different kind of temptation. Because he no longer feels the presence of God, Satan put into his mind that the reason for this was because he is damned already or he is destined to go to hell, that he has no more hope for salvation. St. Francis believed in that thought from Satan. It made him suffer extremely that it affected his health. The saint pleaded with God, "Lord, if I go to hell, please let me not hate you there." Because souls or people in hell are no longer capable of loving but only hating. A love or even a slightest love can't enter hell because hell is pure hate. The damned hate and curse God. They also curse their parents, their spouse, their children, their relatives, their friends and all people on earth. The damned curse each other in hell. They have nothing in their hearts but hate and all kinds of impurities.

Mary was blessed but she was just like us all a sinner she needed to be forgiven she even said that in the Bible.
Mary never said she needed to be forgiven in the Bible. Nowhere does it say that Mary sinned in the Bible. :)
Obviously you have a poor understanding of what the Catholic Church really teaches. The Catholic Church says that Mary was preserved free from sin by God in order to PREPARE her to conceive and give birth to His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is NOT like any other human being. He is INFINITELY HOLY (just like His heavenly father). And so the woman who would have the privilege of conceiving Him in her womb CAN'T be like any other woman in the world; she has to be DIFFERENT from every other woman by being SANCTIFIED and PURIFIED in order to prepare her for this task. Therefore, it is DISRESPECTFUL to the dignity and sanctity of Jesus Christ to say that He can be conceived in the womb of a SINFUL woman. Also, when we say that Mary is SINLESS, we are NOT saying that she didn't need a SAVIOUR. How do you think she became sinless in the first place ? Do you think it was by her OWN power? No. It was by the GRACE of Jesus Christ. In other words, God SAVED her by giving her an abundance of GRACE: "Hail Mary, FULL of grace, the Lord is with you" (Luke 1:28) and it is this grace that SAVED her by preserving her from sin. Mary had a SAVIOUR, and that is the reason why she was sinless. If she didn't have a Saviour, she couldn't have remained free from sin because she wouldn't have the grace to make it possible. The work of a SAVIOUR is not only to save people AFTER they have become sinners. A SAVIOUR can also preserve or protect a person from falling into sin in the first place so that such a person never even becomes a sinner in the first place. The Bible confirms that God has the power to prevent someone from falling into sin (Jude 1:24). Lastly, to say that someone is SINLESS does NOT mean that such a person is EQUAL to Jesus Christ. For instance, we know that the angels in heaven are SINLESS, but that doesn't make them equal to God or equal to Jesus Christ🤦♂🤦♂

The Pope is now blessing same sex marriages. Nobody should follow him. In view of the permissive culture in Thessalonica, Paul considered abstention from sexual immorality to be the first priority in the Thessalonians’ devotion to sanctification. Every imaginable sexual vice was rampant in and around Thessalonica; therefore, Paul was especially concerned that the Thessalonians could easily fall back into their former habits. So he gave them the direct, uncomplicated command to abstain from sexual immorality. Abstain means complete abstinence, in this case, staying completely away from any thought or behavior that violates the principles of God’s Word and results in any act of sexual sin.
Sexual immorality (porneias) is a term used to describe any form of illicit sexual behavior (John 8:41; Acts 15:20, 29; 21:25; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:13, 18; 2 Cor. 12:21; Gal. 5:19; Eph. 5:3; Col. 3:5; Rev. 2:21; 9:21). Any sexual activity that deviates from the monogamous relationship between a husband and a wife is immoral by God’s standard. The Lord does bless the sexual relationship in matrimony: “Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled” (Heb. 13:4a). But He is not pleased with sexual activity of any kind other than that: “for fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Heb. 13:4b; cf. Rom. 1:24-32; 2:2).
Pope Francis is NOT allowing the blessing of sinful actions. People are not their past actions, and so they can in principle be blessed. Jesus told the apostles to bless entire households, "IF there is a peaceable man there, the blessing will descend on him, IF NOT, it will return to you."

The hidden meaning of Virgin or the virginity of Mary in Isaiah 7:14 is the Immaculate Conception, therefore, the Immaculate Conception is in the Bible but is just stated implicitly. Mary was/is virgin both in body and soul. If Mary contracted the original sin, then, her soul is no more virgin because virgin means untouched by dirt or impurity. The English word “priest” is derived from the Greek word presbuteros, which is commonly rendered into Bible English as “elder” or “presbyter.” The ministry of Catholic priests is that of the presbyters mentioned in the New Testament (Acts 15:6, 23). The Bible says little about the duties of presbyters, but it does reveal they functioned in a priestly capacity.
They were ordained by the laying on of hands (1 Tm 4:14, 5:22), they preached and taught the flock (1 Tm 5:17), and they administered sacraments (Jas 5:13-15). These are the essential functions of the priestly office, so wherever the various forms of presbuteros appear-except, of course, in instances which pertain to the Jewish elders (Mt 21:23, Acts 4:23)-the word may rightly be translated as “priest” instead of “elder” or “presbyter.”

Why do u call Mary queen of heaven?
Because as the Messiah, Christ inherited the throne of the Davidic kingdom, and in ancient Israel it was the king's mother who was bestowed with the title of queen, not his wife. They were called "gebirah" in Hebrew. Look it up. And since Mary is the mother of Jesus, she is also the queen mother or gebirah of the new and greater Israel, the Church. And since Christ and Mary are no longer with with us here on Earth but are residing in heaven, it follows logically that she is the queen of heaven, because she is a queen and in heaven. Pretty simply really.
why don't you Call her the queen Of Heaven cant you read .
In Revelation 12, we see a tableaux with a female figure bearing a child. We know the child is the Messiah by the reference, "destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod" -- which recalls the Messianic prophecy in Psalm 2:7 -
"The Lord said to me, 'You are my son; this day I have begotten you. Ask of me and I will give you the nations for an inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession. You shall rule them with an iron rod; you shall shatter them like an earthen dish.'"
Now, if the child in Revelation 12 is Jesus, the woman from whom he issues can only be Mary. Here's why:
We see a vision of her in the heavens, clothed in the sun, wearing a crown, a symbol of royalty: "A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems. Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth. She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and his throne. The woman herself fled into the desert where she had a place prepared by God, that there she might be taken care of for twelve hundred and sixty days...
"When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly to her place in the desert, where, far from the serpent, she was taken care of for a year, two years, and a half-year. The serpent, however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current. But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth. Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God's commands and bear witness to Jesus."
Queen of Heaven
Much is made of the title Queen of Heaven by those who attack Catholicism and Marian devotion. The allusion is always to the pagan pantheons and to the mother of the gods, often mother in a very carnal sense of other pagan deities. The Canaanite worship of the "Queen of Heaven" condemned by the prophets is mentioned, as is the worship of Diana of the Ephesians, devotion to whom was exceeding popular before the Gospel arrived among the pagans. It is said that Catholicism at the Council of Ephesus restored this pagan devotion under the cover of devotion to Mary. The history of that Council given above shows the absurdity, and the intellectual dishonesty, of that claim! One might as well claim with respect to Jesus that Christians worship a mere man, since to arrive at this conclusion the Church's teaching must be ripped from its context and distorted to fit a preconceived judgement.
What then does it mean for Mary to be the Queen of Heaven? In the Old Testament monarchy the Queen of the Davidic Kingdom was the Queen Mother. The Kings, for reasons of state and human weakness, had many wives, none of whom fittingly could be called Queen. That honor was reserved for the mother of the King, whose authority far surpassed the many "queens" married to the king. We see this is the role Bathsheba played with respect to King Solomon and the occasions when the Queen Mother acted as regent on behalf of juvenile successors to the throne.
The role of the Queen Mother, therefore, is a prophetic type of the Kingdom role of Mary, just as the role of the Davidic King is a prophetic type of the Kingdom role of Jesus. Jesus inherited the Kingdom promised to David, who was told that one of his descendants would rule forever. The angel Gabriel revealed this fact to Mary at her Annunciation,
Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." (Luke 1:31-33)
Aside from the prophetic types present in the Kingdom of Judah, there is also the text of Psalm 45, which when speaking of the Kingdom of God also speaks of its Queen.
[6] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. [7] Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. [8] All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. [9] Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. [10] Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; [11] So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. (Psalm 45:6-11, KJV)
That Kingdom ruled by God is the same as the Kingdom ruled eternally by the Son of David. It is not an earthly kingdom, though it is present on earth in the Church, but a heavenly kingdom, the Kingdom of God. The Queen of that Kingdom is the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Lord God Jesus Christ
The woman spoken of in Revelation 12 is Mary. A few observations:
• The woman is a great sign and appears in heaven. This is the Catholic view of Mary--that she has an important role in heaven and in the plan of redemption.
• She is clothed with the sun, has the moon under her feet, and a crown of 12 stars. In the passage in Gen 37:9-10 the sun, moon and stars bow down to Joseph. This point is often missed by commentators. Therefore, Mary has a role similar to Joseph's in providing redemption to God's people. Joseph "saved" the Israelites and ruled over them just as Mary "saves" the church and rules over it.
• Mary gives birth to the Messiah. This is the only literal meaning of the text.
• Satan was cast down to earth as a result of events surrounding Christ's birth. Satan went after the child Jesus with a vengeance as we see in Herod's decree to kill the children.
• Mary escapes to the desert--to Egypt, for safety and to protect Jesus. She was there for three and a half years.
• Jesus was snatched up to God and His throne at His ascension.
• Satan was unable to harm the child Jesus so he went off to destroy the rest of Mary's offspring. Notice who these are--those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Mary's other offspring are the church. She had no other children other than Jesus. She is the spiritual mother of the church. 👏
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. What do you call the mother of a prince? QUEEN!

THE TEACHINGS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ARE NOT IN THE BIBLE !!
Yes they are. Protestant ones are not. Bible alone, faith alone, eternal security, private interpretation of scripture, altar calls, the Sinners Prayer, millenialism, 1000s of contradictory denominations, and so many more.
So much for your Protestant knowledge of your bible that the CC codified in 382!
Imagine still being a Catholic after reading their history
@History and Reviews. The Church is a church of sinners. We stayed because of the full deposit of faith revealed by Jesus and placed in custody by the Catholic Church. If the doctor tells me not to smoke because of the harmful effects of smoking but the doctor smokes like crazy, does it invalidate the advice that smoking is bad ?
Besides there are plenty of good throughout the Church's history.

Santa bringing presents isn’t true. God miraculously healing you, is true.
@@michaelibach9063 You're almost there, Michael. I agree with you that Santa isn't real. It'd be silly of me to convince an adult of that. I just wonder why you can't seem to understand that God miraculously healing you is just human beings in power tricking you that God has the power when it's really that doctors did the work, or your body healed itself. God was never involved in the process - though praying probably does calm the body just like yoga (but gods aren't real, and convincing grownups that believe in them of that is exactly like arguing with children that adamantly believe in Santa.)
Wow Lily! You must have know so much at 8 years old. Seriously? Kids still think there are monsters under their bed at that age, and think they can fly, and can't tell the difference between reality and delusion. So the fact that you gave it up as a child and you still reason as a child is really sad. If you can give us some good reasons not to believe in God we might entertain it, but just giving us an emotional argument that you stopped believing and God when you were age doesn't prove anything. And Santa Claus is actually a real person, so you are wrong about that too.
I was confused because 1 Corinthians 5 only has 13 verses and spoke of immortality and John 20:21-23 talks about when Jesus shows His disciples His hands and side
Very interesting video and convincing. I just have a question on what you think about Popes who have failed to live up to their calling such as the Borgia popes, the Medici popes, Pope Stephen VI, Pope Urban VI, and the Renaissance popes. How does this affect the office of the papacy? Theoretically speaking, if the chair of Peter is to be believed, then throughout history the Pope should have displayed a remarkable level of Christian ethics, right?
Pope Alexander VI, a member of the Borgia family, is infamous for his corrupt and immoral behavior. He was known for nepotism, sexual misconduct, and various other actions that were clearly contrary to Scriptural teachings.
Popes from the Medici family, like Leo X, were known for their lavish lifestyles and involvement in secular politics, often focusing more on temporal power and material wealth than on spiritual leadership.
Pope Stephen VI was responsible for the "Cadaver Synod," where he had the corpse of his predecessor, Pope Formosus, exhumed and put on trial, an act widely viewed as grotesque and contrary to Christian dignity and respect for the dead.
Pope Urban VI: His harsh and brutal treatment of cardinals and others led to the Western Schism, a significant split in the Catholic Church.
Some Popes during the Renaissance era were more engrossed in patronage of the arts and political machinations than in spiritual leadership. Their actions often reflected the secular and sometimes morally ambiguous standards of the time rather than the teachings of Scripture.
What are your thoughts on this?
All the examples you give are personal sins of some men who held the teaching office. To the extent that your info is accurate, they sinned. However, they never told the Church: "I'm changing the teaching. From now on, 'Thou SHALT commit adultery'!" Never happened. If you want a biblical example: Paul corrects Cephas (another name for Peter, both meaning "rock") for...not living up to Peter's own teaching (see Acts 15; Peter teaches that Gentiles do not need to obey Jewish ceremonial law to become Christian. In Galatians 2, Peter fears to live up to his own teaching, and withdraws from Gentile contact. A smaller sin, but the same principle. Popes cannot misteach the Church, but they can sin and give bad example.
Amen 🙏
Why blind faith tho? Why is faith good? Jesus didn’t have to just die with faith Jesus knew he literally healed people and performed miracles, having that power would make death easy but we are asked to just die and have faith blindly. I don’t understand
Blind Faith is a faith that is not supported by any facts for any reasons, it just believes. We could have Blind Faith in the Easter Bunny but if we're going to believe in something you should have reasons for believing it that makes sense.

“Queen of heaven and earth “?? Is this biblical?
Yes indeed. If you read 1 and 2 Kings, you will read about the Queen Mother. The king of Israel always had his mother reign by his side. For example, Bathsheba with King David. She has a throne seat right next to his when he is enthroned as King. The queen mother is often mentioned and is even listed among the members of the Royal Court in 2 Kings 24. In Jeremiah 13, her royal office is also described by the prophet Jeremiah, who tells how the queen mother possessed a throne and a crown, symbolic of her position of authority in the kingdom. Jesus is the new and eternal king of Israel, and Mary his mother would naturally be the queen mother which is exactly what we see in Revelation 12.
Likewise, in Luke, Elizabeth calls Mary, "the mother of my Lord." This was the exact phrase that people called the queen mother in the Old Testament. The kings of old always honored their mother , and who wouldn't honor their mother more than Jesus himself? He is not afraid of her nor threatened by her, or any of his saints for that matter. But rather, he is happy to glorify us with his own Glory. A picture of this can be seen Revelation 12. A woman who is clothed in the Sun and had a crown of twelve stars. This same woman gave birth to a male child that would be the ruler of all nations (Jesus). Thus, we see this in Scripture.

The Bible talks about the Saints. So, what you are saying isn't even biblical.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Doublespeak.
The Pope is infallible, the Pope is not infallible. You say that Mary is without sin, yet you deny that she had relations with Joseph andthat she had other children even though the Bible shows in several places that Jesus had brothers and sisters. You say her mother was also without sin which is nowhere in any canon. Solo Scriptura for me. All of these false doctrines were created Hundreds of years after Christ's time here. Galatians 1: 8-12
We set the pope is only infallible when speaking officially from the chair of Peter. That's not double speak. That's because she doesn't have sinned and didn't have other children with Joseph. We have two videos proving both of these. The only reason you think he had other brothers and sisters is because you only read the Bible in your language and not in Greek or Hebrew. The Bible does not say he had blood brothers but offers how about seven different familial relations they could have been, and when you study the four gospels and the book of Acts you see that those brothers, so called, actually belonged to other Mary's.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial So when the pope decreed that homosexual unions could be blessed or that there are other paths to heaven other than faith in Christ, was he speaking from the chair of Peter? What does it matter what the pope says other than officially. There have been many popes over the centuries that have been absolute reprobates. Eight times the scripture refers to Jesus' mother and brothers and gives no indication that they were Cousins. Where do you see "other Mary's", also? Is it true that Mary was taken to heaven like Enoch and Elisha? Where is that found in scripture? That doctrine did not show up until the 1500's. Before that no where else in Catholic doctrine does it mention Mary In the same context as Enoch and Elisha until then.
