  • Catholicism VS Christianity
Is there a difference between Catholics and Christians? Is the Word of God the only book that is infallible? In this video, I discuss the many differences between Catholicism and Christianity and why there is only one way you can be saved: by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1st Peter chapter 2, verse 9 says, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." Jesus is our only Great High Priest; by Him alone, we can get to the Father.
    Chapters
    0:00 - Intro
1:14 - Major differences between Roman Catholics and Greek Orthodox
Differences between Catholic and Christian Protestants
3:25 - Christians believe that the Bible is the only Word of God
5:04 - Christians believe that there are many true churches under Jesus
6:24 - Christians believe that the church is built on the revelation of who Jesus is
9:06 - Only Jesus and the Word of God are infallible
9:50 - Christianity believes priesthood belongs to all believers; Catholics uphold the holy orders of bishops, priests, and deacons having authority over people
11:05 - Christians believe that communion elements are symbolic
12:09 - Christians have 2 sacraments (ceremonies that are observed), and Catholics have 7
16:47 - Christians believe we are only saved by grace
18:27 - Christians don't pray to the saints or Mary

My daughter goes to Christian school, and we attend a Christian church, but my husband grew up Catholic and refused for a very long time to go to a Christian church. I have been praying for my husband to come to church with us and accept Jesus. Well, it's been 3 weeks now, thats hes been going to our christian church and loves it. My husband says that listening to me give our daughter lessons from the Bible and raising her in christinaity, it sparked his interest since he never really understood the stories in the bible and no one ever explained it to him. I know God heard my prayers. He touched my husbands heart and sparked that interest. 🙏

I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church. At the age of 43 years, the Lord, open my eyes to the truth of the Scriptures. I repented of my sin, and trusted Christ to be my savior. I have been walking with Christ for the last 40 years and it’s a most wonderful thing that could ever happen to you. I am assured that when this life is over, I will step into eternity with my Savior Jesus Christ.

You left the Church founded by Jesus for something man-made that suits you better. You think Jesus likes that? No! That's called arrogance. Remember what Jesus said in Mt 7:21-27. You should pray on this. In 1 Tm 3:15 we are told that the Church (singular) is the pillar and ground of the truth. Not some man- made way but, the Holy Church left to us by Christ.

The title alone is wrong coz tell me who Christians are?. And do you presume that Catholics are not Christians?. There is only one true faith and Church and she is the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. All other religions are rebelling against the Catholic Church founded by Jesus Christ and instead listen to false teachers like this guy. You have said it right that all other Christians split from the true Church of Jesus(Catholic Church) built on Peter as written in Mathew 16:16-19, John 21:14-19 etc.. and therefore, they fulfilled a prophesy in 2 Timothy 4:1-5. Where is it mentioned in the Bible that the Bible alone is the supreme authority?.2 Thessalonians 2:15 explains traditions. John 17: 17 says thy word is truth and the pillar of this truth is the Church( 1 Timothy 3:15). There is only one true Catholic Church who guides and preserves the truth(Word of God) against heretics and Jesus left a shepherd for His Catholic Church(John 21:14-19) and that authority has been passed on from Peter as the first pope to the current Pope. In fact the Bible is against the protestant false teachings of faith and grace alone as shown in these verses Ephesians 2: 8-10, Mathew 5:14-20, James 2:14-26, 2 Timothy 3:16 etc.. Also read about the stories of the rich man and lazarus, goats vs sheep etc.. So there is one faith, one body, one spirit, one Baptism, one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church under one lord Jesus Christ.

And of course Catholics reject ‘once saved, always saved’ partially because it’s not accurate since the reborn can lose their salvation by rejecting Jesus and turning from the faith or by blaspheming the Holy Spirit which is the one unforgivable sin.
But more to the point Catholics reject it because the entirety of their teachings is focused on keeping their laity in a perpetual state of fear of damnation and denying them the peace with God that Paul recognized Christians possessing in Romans 5:1.
Mass would never be needed ever again if they accepted ‘once saved, always saved (unless you leave the faith). Confession would never be required again (confessing to a priest, rather than just praying directly to God to confess and ask forgiveness). Neither would their concept of purgatory remain, which would also cost the Catholic Church tens of millions, or more, each year in the form of ‘indulgences’ which is nothing more than a bribe to get the deceased out of an imaginary lesser Hell and into Heaven!
One good thing that would come from Catholics accepting it would be an end to the Catholic practice of necromancy-praying to Mary and a vast number of ‘saints’ that all died hundreds to thousands of years ago!

It was Good Friday and people were bowing down to a 12 ft statue and kissing it's feet. I was so convicted that I could not do it. I absolutely refused. My aunt cried all the way home because I would be going to "hell". Twenty years later my dad became born again, started a prayer group which became a church and was the pastor for 26 years. He was my pastor, my friend, and my confidante. He passes away three years ago from cancer. I miss him so much but I know one day we will see each other again. Praise God!

St. Ignatius of Antioch was a disciple of St. John the Apostle and was installed as the 3rd Catholic Bishop of Antioch by St. Peter the Apostle (most likely) after the 2nd Bishop Evodius died. The what what what what what? Not a soul needs to be interested in your 26 points. It's if you believe in Jesus and he's your lord, then you will do what he says, not what a particular denomination, separate text, or man/women that is not aligned with Christ says.
You want to know everyone, why you sound insane or someone else does when they talk about an assortment of things yet they call themselves Christians? Simply they are not hooked up to the head who is Christ, they head of every man is Christ, and the body is his bride. Nonsense can't stay for long in the mind and heart of the one who is truly following Jesus, but nonsense is the bread and butter of those who have left christ for a Pope, Pastor, or other person in the place of Jesus as lord.

@@stephenbrown7307 The 26 points are vital to distinguish between the Truth of the Gospel which is practiced by Catholics versus the falsehood of Protestantism. These 26 points align with the the reason why ==Jesus incarnated as a man, died on the Cross and declared = It is Finished ?
The Bible and OT begins with the = Fall = in the Garden of Eden of the man Adam who was given the directive by God to not eat of the forbidden =TREE= Gen 2;17. Eve, on the other hand, must have learned of this directive from Adam. The result of the Fall was to render the ground cursed and Adam and Eve dismissed from the garden Eden.
The NT begins with the birth and = Rise = of Jesus, the spiritual Adam =1 Corinthians 15:21-23 = , who redeems man by His death on the TREE ( cross ) and is then buried in the Garden.
What the Bible does = not = state is that God slammed the gates of Heaven shut after the Fall because Adam and Eve had taken on the nature of the devil. For when confronted by God, Adam blamed God = the woman YOU gave me = Adam also blamed Eve. Eve likewise blamed the devil ( serpent ). Instead of asking forgiveness from God who walked with them = Gen. 3:8, they played the Blame Game as children of the devil = 1 John 3:8 = and thus God had no option but to expel them from Eden and made them and their descendants ineligible for Heaven, through = Original Sin. This Original Sin is what Jesus came to pay by His death and shed Blood, as well as reverse God's curse on the ground. Thus the Tree which was the downfall of mankind now became the symbol = the Cross = of man's redemption. And the Garden where Jesus' body was laid now became the symbol of man's eligibility to Heavenly Paradise and thus has reversed the shame of his ousting from Eden and the reversal of the cursed ground.
Third, the Fall of humankind began when Eve listened to and obeyed the = Fallen ANGEL =who is the devil. On the other hand, Mary listened and agreed with the = ANGEL = Gabriel to be the mother of Jesus who became the Redeemer. by His death on the TREE of the Cross. . Catholics thus believe that Eve brought about the Fall, whereas Mary contributed to the Rise of Mankind and have no problem in calling Mary = Co-Redeemer.
Fourth, after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, God called out to Adam = only = and he replied = I heard you in the garden, but I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid myself = Gen.3:10. On the other hand, when Jesus, the spiritual Adam, was nailed to the Tree, He was rendered naked in the sight of all passers-by = John 19:23 = with no way to hide.
Fifth = 2 facts = First, Jesus was crowned with thorns.
Secondly =“And being in agony, Jesus prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke 22:44).
This = sweat Blood = of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, added to Jesus' thorn-crowned head, reversed and made satisfaction for God's curse in Genesis 3:17-19 = “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce = thorns and thistles for you and you will eat the plants of the field.19 By the = sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground,
Thus Catholics believe that Jesus came down from Heaven as a man to die and pay the penalty of Adam's sin which closed the gates of Heaven and imposed Original Sins on all Adam's descendants - you and me.=== It is Finished = was Jesus' triumphant cry of Mission accomplished and that Heaven gates were now opened. Moreover, Jesus' death and shed Blood paid for and covered the = Original Sins = of all those past, those now living as well as those yet unborn. Furthermore, Baptism is a - one-time - Grace event which washes away all our prior sins. However, we are responsible for all sins after Baptism - as confirmed by Jesus' " execution " of Ananias and Sapphira from the 1st Christian Faith community - Acts 5. And this was shortly = after = Jesus' heavenly ascent.
Jesus expects = More = from Christians as we have the best example of Jesus Himself = Luke 12:48. Moreover, the Cross is the very symbol of Christianity. The long vertical beam represents our love for God and the short horizontal beam represents our love for Neighbour. For God is the God of Love and heaven is the perfect place of love. Once you are familiar with the word of God you will be able to discern if what the pastor is saying is truth or of they are just misleading people.

I was brought up catholic as well my whole life until mid 30's. No matter what I did, I never understood anything no matter how many times i've heard it. The current pope was the last straw for me that i realized i'm following men and traditions not Jesus. I found a new church that only reads from the bible, I've been reading the bible more and more and I've become a reborn Christian. Thank you Jesus for saving me and dying for all my sins past, and future.

@@elizariosantos1252 Being Born again comes through repentance, once someone repents from their sins(meaning they turn away from them) and fully surrender their lives to God, then they are able to be born again. Meaning that they have a spiritual birth that comes from the Holy Spirit, no longer am I living the same sinful way (fornication, lying, gossiping, etc) but I am letting the Holy Spirit renew my mind and my life for Godly change. Catholics do not believe in being born again or that it gives eternal life, Catholics have to follow the sacraments (religious rituals) in order to have eternal life, which is unbiblical. They believe in Mary and while I was in Catholic school we prayed to her and completed the rosary all the time since Catholics believe that Mary is a mediator of our prayers and also that saints can hear our prayers and intercede for us, this doesn’t actually work since they are in heaven and are dead (the bible says that the dead know nothing and that only God can hear our prayers). Jesus is the only intercessor and mediator of our faith. There was never any spiritual presence of God in my life because I wasn’t truly following Him. Continuously completely religious rituals and trying to be righteous by human efforts will not grant a person eternal life, we can never earn our way to God, but we can let Him into our lives to transform us from our old sinful way of living that doesn’t produce any life but death and have Him take hold of our whole lives with full surrenderance to His word and His will which will grant eternal life.
      Here’s some verses:
”Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”“
      ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ ‭- Being Born Again
”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.“
      ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭- New Life in Christ
”Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7‬:‭25‬ ‭- Jesus is the Only Intercessor for prayer
”But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭64‬:‭6‬ ‭- Our Righteous Deeds in the eyes of God
“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” - 1 Timothy 2:5

I grew up Catholic and my mother is hardcore catholic, attending daily mass and sometimes going to confession twice a day, but I have adopted the Christian teachings of the Bible. I think you did a great job illustrating that Catholicism adds extra steps to be saved, whereas the Bible does not have these steps. I also value the personal relationship with God vs feeling like I had to go through a intermediary /priest to confess my sins.

They've cast down these explicit biblical truths and have supplanted it with departed Mary & Saints as mediators, and the clergy of the Mother Harlot as priests, effectively removing Jesus as high priest and only mediator, and robbing the body of believers globally from their priestly inheritance & functions.
It's CLEAR why the Mother Harlot is so adamant about teaching the heresy of "Tradition" above scripture, and "authority of the clergy" above scripture, because it's clear that their teachings contradict biblical truth, which is the hallmark of a doctrine of demons.

While I appreciate your sentiment and devotion, if you really knew the Holy Spirit as a Person, you'd know that He convicts, uproots, breaks down and cuts away before He heals and unites. There is no unity without accountability, false teachings and doctrines need to be honestly addressed and examined in the light of Who God says He is in the Scriptures. God is not just a heap of sentimental love as we understand it. His love often seems brutal and cruel but He ALWAYS has our best interests, our sanctification in mind.

This is a very unnecessary division, you cannot judge whether or not God would oppose anyone, for you are not God. And funny about the false doctrine - the catholics gave you the bible. Although I'm not catholic myself, I can still see the value in people uniting traditions with Jesus. Tradition unites societies. There's a book of Max Weber called "Selbstmord". It's about a study that sheds light on how protestants are more than 80 times more prone to suicide than catholics. Not to say any is better, but there definitely was a time in history, where the church actually saved people from one of the greatest sins - and that just with the motion of uniting one another in one holy apostolic church, rather than depending on your personal perception. Thank you pastor Vlad. You are very good at explaining Truth in a loving way. I am 67 now, and grew up in the Catholic Church. I was born again at the tail end of the Jesus movement. I had parents that were both converted to the Catholic church. Dad was Baptist, mom was Methodist. They raised me and my 2 sisters in the Catholic Church. The Holy Spirit was moving mightily across our nation in the mid to late 70's and both my parents were born again and baptised in the Holy Spirit. They remained in the Catholic Church but attended Charismatic prayer meetings and Bible studies at a couple Catholic churches. Godly Seeds were planted in my life and while in college I accepted Jesus a lord and Savior and was water baltised and received the gift of the Holy Spirit and He has given me discernment over the years praise God! I am non denominational and love my Catholic family and friends dearly and will share your video with prayer hoping I can win them all over to Jesus. Religion kills. Jesus gives Life.

"Are you born again-the way the Bible understands that concept?" If the Evangelical has not been properly water baptized, he has not been born again "the Bible way," regardless of what he may think. The Born Again Movement traces its origin early in the 19th century.Born Again Movement arrived at our shores in the late 1930’s and gained its popularity in the 70’s and 80’s which is considered the golden era of Born Again Movement During these years membership in various Born Again Churches increased because they where able to infiltrate mainline Protestant Churches and had lured nominal Catholics into their fold. However their steady growth ceases starting the year 1990 and their membership declined in the succeeding years. In the year 2000 Born Again Churches from the United States sent their missionaries in the Philippines to re-established the Born Again Movement and this time their primary mission is no longer to infiltrate Protestant and Catholic Churches but targeted the youth in schools particularly college students.Born Again evangelist does not want to discuss the history of the Christian church, in their Bible studies with their prospects, they intentionally limit the discussion to the Bible alone. They conceal the history of the Christian religion because it will show that their movement did not originate from the apostles. It is necessary for them to negate history because St. Paul warned us not to accept teachings that did not originate from the apostles Gal.1:8 and Born Again Movement evidently cannot trace the history of their church into the time of the apostles.Clearly Born Again evangelization has deception as its chief foundation and they even used selected passages from the Bible to deceive people. They usually start evangelizing by asking ambiguous questions such as “Are you saved?” or “Are you born again?”, if the person answers “no or I don’t know” they will tell you that you must accept Christ as a Lord and Personal Savior in order to be born again otherwise you will be damned to hell. And if the person will answer “yes” they will invite you to their church and worship with them. And if the person is a Catholic that would mean that you have to leave the Catholic Church and do away your Catholic beliefs about Mary, the Saints, confession etc. Let us be vigilant not to fall to the snares of the Born Again movement.😎😎

You are certainly welcome to believe and profess whatever you want to believe, but to glean this from OUR book, the Bible, is just plain silly…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time, growing in numbers of hundreds of “inspired” NT writings. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

Im Catholic and I almost left the Church thanks to protestants teachings, but thank God I stayed and I am so glad. The more you discover the faith the more you fall in love with it. Yes is true, the Catholic Church has failed in many aspects but I forgive the Church; because number one the Church is made of humans, of sinners who make mistake one after another. People change but the one thing that doesn't change is the Word of God. So if you are looking for the perfect church you won't find it. Look for God with sincere heart and you will find Him. I love the Lord, I have a personal relationship with Him, and I am fulfilled.
By the way, many things people say about the Catholic Church is a lie. Many of the people who convert are the ones who barely go to church, who never read the bible, who don't pray and then when they convert they say so much stuff that is not true. True Catholics live the faith; true Catholics have a personal relationship with God! So, to many of you out there confused and criticizing, maybe you should read the book by Scott Haan. There are so manh books of Protestants coming back to Catholic Faith that I find it incredible because if Catholics are false, why Protestants are coming back?
People, look foe God with sincere heart. If you are Catholic or Protestant, look for God and not for the right religion etc. But I know where I was and I know where I am now and I know where to go now. Amen

And watching his mother and siblings started to cry watching him suffer on the cross. It was then I started to cry. Lungs and heart felt like they were drowning in water. And then COVID set in. So the answer to all believers is believe God is real and what Jesus said was true. Spiritually connect with Jesus by shedding a tear and show some passion for what he has done for us... Jesus thank you for wageering our dept. I will try harder to be more like what your father wanted. In Jesus name I pray amen

If I give you a road map that is a lie and convince you that it is the truth you will still end up lost. Luke 1:47 “And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” Mary needed a Saviour. Did you know immaculate conception is a recent doctrine. The real Mary said, God my Saviour and in verse 48 called herself a handmaiden. Does that sound like the Mother of God to you? Please, lets take a look at John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” So we see here the birth of Jesus was what? The Word of God being made flesh. So if you believe Jesus, then you believe the Word of God. This is a huge problem to the Holy Mother Church. The Pope has more authority than the Scripture and is the vicar of Christ. Christ himself said what? John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” So we see Mary has nothing to do with personal Salvation, nor the Pope, nor a church, but only Jesus. Jesus the Word in flesh says in John 7:38 “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Not Mary, nor a church, not sacraments, nor good works, but just Jesus Christ in Salvation. What is Salvation? Every year the children of Israel would do an atonement (please look up Shiloh) and God would speak to his children. They needed to atone for their sin. Our sin carries a penalty called death. Romans 6:23“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” If you die without your sins being washed away you will die in your sins and end up in hell and will face the white throne of judgment. Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” So how do I have this spiritual birth called Born Again. Religion does not deal with the sin problem. Their is only one way. Jesus said, I am the way! Jesus shed his blood for you and died for you, but the best part is he lives and rose from the dead. So he has power over death and sin, and so how can I have eternal life instead of the punishment of hell? Our sin is a transgression of God's law- The Ten Commandments. We are all guilty and worthy of hell before a Holy God. The Holy Mother Church does not teach you are 100% saved from wrath and purgatory is blasphemy against Jesus and here is why? Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” So who gives the gift? The church, no, God gives the gift. How do you accept the gift? Faith in forgiveness of sins. Romans 3:25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;” Otherwise Jesus had to personally die for your sins to satisfy God's wrath and if you accept him and turn from religion and sin he will save you. Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” Christ paid for your curse of death and paid in full with his life. Now you will understand Romans chapter 5. The gift of Salvation is eternal and you can not lose it. 1John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” Notice the Word of God says that you can know if you have eternal life in Jesus Christ. look at the last verse in the chapter:And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. To sum it up: The true God unto eternal life is not through a church of any works. It is through the blood of the Lamb to wash away our sins unto eternal Salvation through the Spirit which brings sweet fellowship with the Father. I was saved in my truck and through the blood of the Lamb unto Salvation and not a church, but through the Word of God.

Thank you, Pastor Vlad, for clear comparison. I especially appreciate your kind and loving comments at the end. I was raised RC and practiced my faith in the RC church for most of my life. In my 50s, I went searching for a church that was true to the Acts church. I found what I was looking for outside of R. Catholicism. At the very heart of the Catholic church, there is the truth, but it's been layered with so much that is not scriptural. That happens in some Protestant churches as well. I truly believe that we need, as brothers and sisters in Christ, to celebrate and hold fast to what we have in common - that Jesus is our Lord.

Not sure your age, but pretty much everyone under 75 and who was catechized as a tennager or younger in the mid 60s has no idea of the full faith and any of the vast scriptural support for everything , but also Sacred Tradition (not Tradition of Men) and documented historically I. From the 1st Century. It was not our fault but they denied us the faith and weakened us intentionally as part of the Freemasonic plan , and weak Catholics leave , I almost left and then I discovered Traditional Catholicism and there was an explosive learning curve and years later still so much more to learn. You cannot deny the Eucharist if Miracles of the Catholic Church or the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima . Our Lady spoke much about the “popes” . Look what God JUST did. To statue of St Peter in “Pope Francis”. Former diocese in Argentina on his birthday and on the eve of the release of the SS Blessing declaration , Iducia Supplecants . Lightening struck the statue of St Peter and ONLY destroyed the keys to the kingdom. And his blessing hand .
The night of Pope Benedict 16 “resignation” - paving way for Francis - lightening struck TWICE on the Vatican building. Just saying
But as for reasons given by the pastor (whom ai really like) 1. The parameters of papal infallibility are extremely narrow , They can make all kinds of prudential errors, other errors and just plain bad sin.Problem is that they did not really finish V1 in defining those limits but it is not much . Some doctrine. That is Cburch traditon (Not deposit of Faith Sacred Tradition ).is possible to change but not infallible dogma .
As for married priests yes chastity is better but the problems in the priesthood are not what people think (even tho Church has gone thru periods in which clergy were chosen for wrong reasons (children of royalty, etc) and so other reasons for lack of chastity. But there are the best reasons for it. And to see the probs of past 60 years or more from infiltration etc see how priesthood was intentionally corrupted in vid called G@@dbye G@@d Men. Vid but book goes into even more.
Latin is used in part bc it is a dead language. (And a sacred language of cross) order to ensure that things stay sane all over world and down thru ages.

You say you’re in the process of becoming a born again Christian and joining a church through baptism, but that’s not how it works. You’re mixing Roman Catholic dogma with true Christianity.
Baptism is important. It symbolizes the washing away of the old man, and the birth of the new, but baptism does not save you. Paul had baptized a few families, but he said he did not come to baptize, but to preach the Gospel. Romans 10:9 tells us what we need to do to be saved. Other Scriptures say repent and sin no more. If you’ve done those things, you’re truly born again and don’t need a pastor to baptize you for that, although like I said before, it’s a symbol of a washing away of the old man.

I grow up catholic and I never felt I could live holly because as a sinner I was always condemned. I felt undeserving of Loving God and for him to love me. So, I lived a very distant life from God. But I finally started to go to christian church and God found me there. I felt love by him and close to him. I have been in conflict in which church I should belong because my upbringing and my mom keeps pressing catholic church on me. . All I want is to love Jesus and surrender to him. I agree about catholic church being part of the latin culture. I am from colombia and that’s why the catholic church has been embedded into my life but I feel happy in christian church. This discussion would not be complete without seeing what was said by Ignatius from the New Testament church of Antioch. He was an overseer there and died a martyr’s death by becoming cat food in the worst way to lions in the Coliseum. All for Christ’s sake.
“I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I desire his blood, which is love incorruptible” (Letter to the Romans 7:3 [A.D. 110]).
“Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. They have no concern for loνe, none for the widow, none for the orphan, none for the oppressed, none for the prisoner or the one released, none for the hungry or thirsty. They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes But it were better for them to treat it with respect, that they also might rise again. It is fitting, therefore, that ye should keep aloof from such persons, and not to speak of them either in private or in public, but to give heed to the prophets, and above all, to the Gospel, in which the passion [of Christ] has been revealed to us, and the resurrection has been fully proved. But avoid all divisions, as the beginning of evils.” (Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6:2-7:? [A.D. 110]).
Also Justin Martyr A.D. 150 from his Apology.
And this food is called among us Εὐχαριστία [the Eucharist], of which no one is allowed to partake but the man who believes that the things which we teach are true, and who has been washed with the washing that is for the remission of sins, and unto regeneration, and who is so living as Christ has enjoined. For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished, is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh.
    Also Ireneaus A.D. 180
“Then, again, how can they say that the flesh, which is nourished with the body of the Lord and with His blood, goes to corruption, and does not partake of life? Let them, therefore, either alter their opinion, or cease from offering the things just mentioned. But our opinion is in accordance with the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in turn establishes our opinion. For we offer to Him His own, announcing consistently the fellowship and union of the flesh and Spirit. For as the bread, which is produced from the earth, when it receives the invocation of God, is no longer common bread, but the Eucharist, consisting of two realities, earthly and heavenly; so also our bodies, when they receive the Eucharist, are no longer corruptible, having the hope of the resurrection to eternity.”

As a former Catholic myself, who also used to observed the "Eucharist', let me state that Jesus is NOT in the catholic holy communion. These are ALL man made rituals that have nothing to do with salvation.
Jesus said in John 6:53Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58This is the bread which came down from heaven-not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”...
The RCC takes that Jesus meant you have to literally eat His flesh and drink Hid blood and the RCC calls this Holy Communion and calls this "Experiencing Jesus". and the "Eucharist"........Yet a few verses down Jesus explains what He means.
John 6:61When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63IT IS THE SPIRIT WHO GIVES LIFE; THE FLESH PROFITS NOTHING. THE WORDS I SPEAK TO YOU ARE SPIRIT AND THEY ARE LIFE.
Jesus was speaking symbolically. NOT Literally. His words give life. You experience Jesus by His word and His Spirit by faith. Taking communion does NOTHING for salvation. This is where the RCC deceives people.
Doing things thru the flesh (Holy communion, observing the Eucharist) does NOTHING.

Jesus was the = Word = and spokesperson of The Father who sent Him to both be as well as teach us the Truth, Way and Life to the Father.
Jesus' message was Tough Love =If you love Me, keep My Commandments. Especially, the love of God and Neighbour. With Love being a verb or action word.
If you wish to be My disciple = thus defining who's Christian = take up your Cross daily, deny yourself and follow Me
The gate to Heaven is narrow and = few = find it = Matthew 7:14 & Luke 13:23-24
Jesus warned = Matthew 24:13-14 = He who endures to the = end = will be saved.
And declared that = More = is expected of Christians to whom much has been entrusted = Luke 12:48.
Jesus updated the = letter = of Moses' 10 Commandments to include the = spirit = by requiring not only the forbidding of murder, but also getting angry, not only adultery, but also looking with lust.
Jesus fasted 40 days/nights. He prayed daily. He also did a = world = of unrecorded works = John 21:25.
Jesus spoke of The Father's reward for Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving and Good Works done in secret = Matthew 6.
And Jesus' various Parables prefaced with = the Kingdom of Heaven = or = the Reign of God = require us to multiply our talents, become more fruitful " soil " and wise virgins carrying oil, or we will be excluded from Heaven
Even Paul, like a good Christian, boasted of the Cross = Galatians 6:14
Paul urged = WORK out your own salvation with fear and trembling. = Philippians 2:12
Paul warned that those Christians who do works of the flesh would not inherit Heaven = Galatian 5:19-21
Hebrews 12:6 warned that The Father chastens and disciplines = every = child before He will accept them into His Kingdom.
When Martin Loser, I mean Martin Luther broke away from Catholicism and started Protestantism, he promoted "Sola Scriptura" - or the authority of the Bible alone as well as the doctrine of " Faith alone." He also took the focus of Protestantism = away = from the 4 Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and onto " cherry-picked " verses such as Romans 10:8-10 and Ephesians 2:8-10. Luther thus ignored Jesus' and other NT Tough Love passages, some of them given above, and brought about doctrines that spell = Easy Christianity and cheap grace.
Sadly, Protestants and non-Catholics have embraced Luther's errors despite the fact that they proclaim " Sola Scriptura " and read the Bible often, even daily. By declaring that only Faith is necessary for Salvation, they have effectively cancelled the Cross = the very symbol of Christianity.
Catholics believe that Jesus came down from Heaven and died on the Cross to atone and redeem mankind from the " curse " caused by Adam and Eve's disobedience bringing about " Original Sin " on their descendants = you and me = and which disqualified us from Heavenly entry. " It is Finished " was Jesus cry of mission accomplished and that Heaven's gates were now opened and that Original Sins of all humans past, present and those unborn have been atoned for. And that Baptism is a = one-time = Grace event that washes away all our prior sins. However, we are responsible for all sins after, as exemplified by God's " execution " of Ananias and Sapphira from the first Christian = Faith = community for just dishonesty and lying. And this a short time = after = Jesus' Heavenly ascent = Acts 5.

Two years ago, I was still a Catholic and by the grace of God, little by little reading the Bible, everything was revealed to me and my friends of faith. It is an extraordinary grace. God willed it. Anyone who doesn't see the differences yet is simply covered. They can read the bible but will not understand, they will look but not see. Lets pray to God to reveal the truth to them. My exit from the Catholic Church was very painful, I could not believe that what is written in the Bible contradicts the truths and tradition of the ages, that it has nothing to do with the real Christ! I pray that the Lord, full of grace, will open it to as many people as possible. You and your family be blessed in Jesus Christ name.

I find that one of the biggest differences between Catholics (I'm Catholic, myself, but may convert over to Christianity), at least where I live, is that most Christians actually read and memorize sections of the Bible whereas most Catholics don't and commonly interprete and recite it wrong. The Catholics in my area believe that what is said and tought in the respective churches that they go to are the words of truth and that it isn't necessary to read the Bible.
In fact, both of my parents, my sister and my brother in law are all Catholics and none of them own a Bible nor have actually read any part of one.
    This baffles me.
I own a Bible and a book of the Apocrypha and have actually read through parts of each to include the entirety of Revelation and honestly, I'm starting to question Catholicism.

I was raised as a catholic. I was a catholic for 20 years. My family members are still Catholics. Being a catholic does not mean you are a Christian. I had never heard about true salvation. I always wanted to know the truth. I regularly attended mass, there was a point where I used to participate in mass every single day, and did everything that they told to do (praying the rosary every day, going for confessions, etc.). I felt like it was never enough. And then, came a day in my life when everything changed. In 2019, I was going through a really hard time, I could not handle what I was going through. There was no one around me, I could reach out for help. That day these very words came from my mouth " Lord I surrender my life to you". And that day I felt extreme peace and forgiveness of God, never felt this before. From that day on, there was such a hunger placed in me, to dig deeper into the Word, and to hear the voice of God. Gradually, God directed me by His word and Spirit to get out of catholicism and idolatry.

@antonio So you were baptized in such a church because your parents were catholic "christians". The latter comes before the former.
      You know that, right?
Last I checked catholicism was one of many (too many for my liking but it is what it is I guess) christian denominations. The one that has the biggest impact when spreading the word of God to the world is concerned despite all its flaws. And was it not the whole purpose of the primitive christian church?
Yes, if I got the message of Christ as it is written in the New Testament.
Vlad forgot that part in his video or, at the very least, he downplayed it drastically.
Catholicism is not to be opposed to Christianity as catholicism is one of the branch of christianity.
Now, one may have a beef against one denomination and prefer another but opposing one branch to the whole tree is misleading.
One can believe that he will be saved by adhering to one denomination instead of another. But at the end of the day, christianity is a very big family and it includes catholics, whether we like it or not.

The Catholic Church is considered the true church because it traces its origins directly to Jesus Christ, who appointed Peter as the first Pope, establishing a direct apostolic succession. This continuity is supported by Matthew 16:18-19, where Jesus tells Peter, "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven." This establishes the Church's authority and unbroken lineage from Christ to the present.

Because God isn't three gods. :) And he isn't like an egg (which at any rate has 4 parts, not 3), and he isn't like the states of matter (which at any rate are 4, not 3). If Jesus is "eternally begotten," then he's totally dependent on God in the same way the universe is, in which case there's no point in labeling "begotten-ness" as if it's anything special. What does make sense is that Jesus is preexistent but not eternal, he had a beginning, begotten rather than created. The Son of God is his own class of being, the finite divinity born from the infinite divinity. God is greater, he bestows authority on Jesus, and Jesus delivers everything up to God. The Holy Spirit is whose spirit? God's (the Father's), just in a special operation through the work of the cross -- otherwise God's presence would vaporize our sin and us along with it. So Jesus wasn't just a man (Unitarian), and he isn't a second infinite being (Binitarian?); only God (the Father) is the infinite first cause. Jesus not eternal/infinite but is preexistent, co-creator, which is what makes it possible for his sacrifice to pay for all sin through all time. Not trinitarian, not binitarian, not unitarian, not oneness or two-ness or three-ness... Biblical monotheism? Two Powers -ism? Jesus is the embodied one, God is the infinite one. @@lufhopespeacefully2037

The very founder of the "Reformation", Martin Luther, was the "regrettable" one, as he surveyed the damage that his rebellion against authority had caused. His writings show that he lamented his deed when he penned the following remarks...
"This one will not hear of Baptism, and that one denies the sacrament, another puts a world between this and the last day: some teach that Christ is not God, some say this, some say that: there are as many sects and creeds as there are heads. No yokel is so rude but when he has dreams and fancies, he thinks himself inspired by the Holy Ghost and must be a prophet."
Protestantism has always been an angry movement marked by judgment, elitism, discord, discrimination, and disunity. Indeed, are these not the fruits of sinful pride and bitter hatred? So one might reasonably ask. May anyone be truly Protestant without staunchly being in a state of constant protest and disagreement? Can anyone be Protestant without being against some thing, or some tradition or some doctrine or someone at every moment? Such opposition seems essential to Protestantism. For if it were to cease, it would beg one question... "Why are we not all Catholic?"
Surely all people of Christian faith would agree that what Christ founds does not fragment. What Christ begins does not fail. What Christ unites is not dis-unified. Rather, what Christ founds and leads is one, holy and apostolic.
That Protestantism continues to fragment is the ultimate proof of its fallacy and in-authenticity. But, unlike most movements, Protestantism takes such great pride in its ongoing failures, seeing each break with Christian unity, each moment of discord, each battle of words and belief as signs of holding the true faith.
Yet Protestantism has failed, in this respect, to offer any evidence of its historical or mystical connection to the Body of Christ. Instead, each denomination repeats the same, sad pattern of reform and brief unity followed by discord and then further fragmentation under the guise of new reform.
Historically, Protestantism is a movement founded in hatred, blood and destruction. Many faithful, including priests, monks, nuns and bishops, were murdered at the hands of the first Protestant "reformers." Churches were looted and burned. Altars were desecrated. People were robbed, raped and murdered and all in the name of God. Does that remind you of anything going on in the Middle-east these days?
Is that the sort of heritage Protestants celebrate when they speak of their "glorious reformation?" Is that what Protestants aspire to when they celebrate Reformation Day?🤦‍♂🤦‍♂

As a devout Catholic, I want to emphasize that we hold a deep respect for other denominations and even other religions. We believe that God may have had a purpose in allowing the split of the church in those days, a purpose that only God can truly comprehend as part of His greater plan for His Body, with Christ as the head. Nevertheless, I remain firmly rooted in the traditions of the original Christianity, where Mary is revered as the mother figure, and where the full authority to teach about Christianity resides. It is in this tradition that we find Peter as the rock upon which the Lord Jesus entrusted His church (Matthew 16:18). The apostolic line of succession never cease to Peter, the next is Pope Linus, Pope Cletus and all the way to our present generation Pope Francis (Normal guys that we know could possibly can make mistakes and error, guess the Lord already aware of that and has prepared remedies, Hahah!)
BTW, In Greek, the term "Catholic" can be expressed as "Καθολική" (Katholikí), derived from the words "Κατά" (Kata) and "Όλος" (Holos). "Κατά" signifies "according to" or "concerning," while "Όλος" means "whole" or "universal." Therefore, "Καθολική" essentially conveys the idea of "concerning the whole" or "universal."
The teachings of Christ are indeed universal, reflecting God's boundless love, and they reach even those we might least expect, such as Bartolo Longo, a former satanic priest who found his way to Catholicism through the powerful intercession of the Blessed Mother. This serves as a testament to the far-reaching impact of Christ's message. God be glorified in Christ Jesus!
