    As a actively working Nursing Home Administrator I can tell you it's sad to see so many angry and sad people. Should be one of the best and easiest places to work but so many people hate for no reason. We are working in a damn nursing home not the white house.

      Definitely not the easiest places to work. Often short staff, fast paced, and a lot of personalities to deal with which in itself makes it difficult.

    So true about the schedulers, and bitter ass staff! Especially if you a “Pretty Nurse” and look youthful…😂😂😂. It’s toxic as hell, but I realize that male nurses don’t have to deal with it. I will be cool to a level, but we are not friends. Made that mistake 2 times. I don’t get close to no one( anymore) …You find people that tell their business, I just listen and do my work. I don’t tell no one my personal business/life. Now they mad, I don’t care. For example…”How was your weekend Nicky?? My response…it was cool, okay didn’t do much!” Even when I had a fantastic weekend with my husband and kids. I want them to assume, I have No life! Boring and lame…when they think that everything is good 😂…I know what I’m doing outside of work…and I don’t have to flex. I just want my Shmoney and go home!

      Men def have to deal with bs in the nursing homes. I never had an issue with other men but with women it’s ridiculous. They get mad because I didn’t exchange numbers, didn’t sleep with them or even join their messy cliques. I keep to myself to stay out the drama and somehow that makes it even worse. 😂 I even had people talking mess because I picked up a lot of overtime. They could do the same but it’s crazy they want to pocket watch. This chick had our bonuses cut because she complained.

    Bc ppl have glamorized nursing too much and the nurses that only want a paycheck to look good are the ones that keep up the most drama instigating

    As a male nurse I agree 1000% about the nursing home drama. You need thick skin to avoid the BS. Ladies hate to do this to you but it's always the women who bring the outside attitudes and drama into work. My best experiences in LTC was when I worked with other male nurses. No drama, chat it up a little, help each other out if needed and get the fudge out. That's why I do visiting nursing now. Driving sucks but it's a more peaceful experience. I pick up a few prn shifts hear and there in the facilities. Funny you mentioned the shock value people have when you tell them you're a nurse. I have the same experience all the time. I always get that "how can this black guy afford that house" look. He must sell drugs.😂

      Yep it’s Always the women. I normally get Along better with women but it’s been the women that has been catty and the men I worked with we have been Cordial No issues but the women instigate and try to bait you to argue. It’s crazy.

    So true, when you tell people you are a Nurse. They stare at you…look you up and down in shock. Like wow…you’re Black and educated 😂😂😂😂… I be looking at them like please to get TF up out my face 🙄😑😜

      Sorry…. Who do you hang around that does that? Place yourself with positive people. Try to control how you respond to them. Cussing, dramatic stares and gestures are below you. You are entering the professional life. Professionals may have a similar thought as you, but they won’t keep it long. Professionals dress, move, and speak politely.

    People so busy pocket watching they don’t realize nursing is wide open with opportunities. But society in general is real jealous. They don’t want to do the work on themselves to better their lives.

    I'm pretty sure that stat about medical doctors making $98k is definitely wrong.
    Other than a part time physician or a resident no doctor is only making $98k.
    Maybe a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant and even those are few and in between. Most np and pa that are doing it right are in a range of $145k or better!

    Cj, I start a new job today. 10 minutes from my house. I am taking a bit of a paycut but with all the drama at the previous facility, I don’t see the paycut as a negative. I’m gonna stay on PRN. Also, my new facility is in need of help, bad! They have agency in on all shifts! Time to eat! Keep inspiring 🙏🏾

    • @mattiepierson2756
      @mattiepierson2756 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My new facility is in a nice neighborhood overlooking the city. My guess is that they’ve been poorly run, recently and are trying to get back . And their pay is lower than most facilities. But they are doing a pay raise within the next 3 months and they have more benefits than negatives, so I’ll stay put for now lol
