A blast from the past today with the HPI Nitro Rush Evo! This truck brought back lots of amazing memories from when I was a teenager primarily running nitro RC cars! Things have changed in 2024 and nitro is no longer a good option for a lot of people but I cant help enjoy the occasional nitro on my channel and it was awesome reliving this amazing RC Stadium Truck! What next? Firestorm 10t? See you on the next one!
It’s amazing how you can leave them for years. Just got my thunder tiger tsn out that I haven’t touched for 17years and after putting fuel in along with some battery’s it started right up. I thought the pull cord would’ve snapped or something but nope. Just a pain because I don’t really know how to tune it properly.
Holy nostalgia! My neighbor had one of these and another had the yellow rush. I was the rebel with a Team Assocaited RC10gt. Tons of fun on our street with those cars. Now off to eBay to go relive my younger years!
Good to see a vintage nitro bought back to life. It does sound a bit rich on the top end though. Do your self a favour and by a temp gun so you can be more accurate with your tuning ;)
I just brought out and rebuilt a 2001 nitro traxxas rustler. It is a blast. I have an og tmaxx and a nitro revo 3.3. I love NITRO!!!!! No electric here.
Always a joy watching old nitros. Dont know if you preheat the engine or not. But if not, that is a major reason why a nitro is hard to start, especially when it starts to get cold outside. Try the Skyrc engine heater if you not already have it. Night and day difference 🙂
I picked up an HPI MT2 a few years back and have been trying to get it to run reliably ever since. It runs the same engine as this Rush and I've never got it to run properly as it always just stalls. I did a video about it on my channel and got lots of useful suggestions for how to solve it but to this day it's never run right. Your video has inspired me to revisit it once again, thanks.
My first rc was a hpi firestone nitro but i had to sell it because old neighboors kept complaining, switched to electric and haven't switched back but still love the sound of nitro rc cars.
Bought 1 of these a year or so ago. Absolutely love it !.....Such a great class that sadly disappeared. Its a definite keeper too ! Cant buy the engine anymore I dont think so will save the original and get one of those HSP engines to try out. Great Vid btw !
Your last 2 videos makes me want to get another nitro. The only one I've ever owned was an original TMaxx which I later traded for an EMaxx that I still own. Regret letting that TMaxx go.
When you buy these old Nitros (21 years old) and heaven knows when THIS one was last running properly, you must expect to tinker about with them for a number of nights/Days? You said "I hope I don't have to spend another night on this" Well you see, this is why restoring old NITROs are fun. It is it's own niche. Old vintage nitro Rc Cars are not for "bashing" (A name not around 21 years ago in Rc Talk), but the fun is get these old and is some cases fragile cars/trucks back working. Your example looks to be in great condition, get some new servos, strip and clean the engine/carb, and you'll be good to go. Now you know it starts and runs in its current condition - a great project to work on. In other comments on this video, people love NITRO's - win win
I mean if i had to spend a third night on it i would have as i love nitro and part of the fun of these old nitro cars is like you said the fault finding and tinkering. Hopefully bringing more nitro content to the channel over the next few months. Stick around :)
The real issue for nitro is electric is now so much more powerful than it once was, it has surpassed nitro in many ways, and all without many of those issues. I'd never get nitro as I can't stand the noise, nor would my neighbours like it, the weed eater is bad enough. Still great cars though, almost any RC is interesting, but for ease of use and noise, it's a pass for me.

Oh wow! Please show us more nitro rc cars!
Loving the nitro content! Keep it up!
Before brushless motors & lipo batteries, if you wanted to go fast you got a nitro.!

For a 21 year old RC it’s quite impressive.

Dude that truck is so cool,I got 2 HPI nitro MT-1 from 1996,also 2 RS4 MT electric,I would be nice if you could do more content on vintage Rc…

Thank you! Yeah parts are becoming hard to find now. i will be keeping this safe!
Tinkering is my favorite part of it. I always drove it in open spaces as I never mastered that part of the hobby. Cheers.
I respect the nostalgia trip
Rush evo was a solid model. Loved mine.
Love the old nitros. I remember those to. My first nitro was a Nitro Rustler. Still have it. Up graded of course. Glad you got it running.
Very cool! Cheers!
I have a Rush and two Evos. I love my HPI nitros. Keep up the nitro content. And around 30 running RS4s.
It's a nitro, of course it'll run.! 😉 😉
Pretty awesome seeing this!. I still have my original HPI MT 4WD. ✌
Your last 2 videos makes me want to get another nitro. The only one I've ever owned was an original TMaxx which I later traded for an EMaxx that I still own. Regret letting that TMaxx go.
This was my dream RC back when I was about 10-12 as well. I ended up with a Tower Hobbies Nitro ST-15, which was a horrible truck all around.
Thats awesome! Haha shame about the ST-15!
Rush evo. Was one of the best rtr you can get back then ..
Not atall matey I'm glad you found my footage useful! I still have my original Rush Evo I bought with my pocket money when I was a kid!
Love that! You have a great collection! Not sure where in Essex you are. I'm in Chelmsford. We will have to get our old nitro's out one day lol :)
@@beyondRC Yeah we should one day, I’m not that far from Chelmsford, I spend a lot of time in chalmers park 👌🏻😁
What an excitement! ✌️👏
Hello. Ça fait plaisir de voir de vieilles machines nitro 🤘
I've still got the original Nitro Rush with a yellow body shell, hasn't been out for a while.
I have 2 hpi mt2 18ss just sitting in the cupboard may have to get those out now
Would love to see more vintage nitro content. Especially the old trucks i still run my rc10gt whenever i can :)
Cant beat an old nitro (When they work haha)
Wicked old school car! You should get a HPI MT2! Rush’s big brother! I loved mine, should never have sold it!

I love nitro

Epic mate love it! Honestly I think in general we need more 2wd stadium trucks on the market! Especially nitro 😎🔥!
Agreed!!
Paddle tyres next ?
Glad you did this video, been looking at a few rushes for sale recently, the question is do I take the plunge ?

Skip to 3:53 to catch a glimpse of an angry snail.

Just subbed
As if I lost the bid to you😅🤯🤣
What are you starting it with?
Roto start and glow start
@@beyondRC OK, thanks bro. I have a Losi XXXNT, still working on getting it to run though. These little old school rigs are nice.
You need an air filter!
Did you watch the vid? Air filter was visible multiple times throughout the second half of the vid. 👍
@@beyondRCoh yes, you are right. My hp is too small to notice😂
