If I had to deal with nitro I wouldn't be in the RC hobby I use the RC hobby to chill out and relax not worry about why the vehicle is stalling and what type of issue I'm going to need to rectify just to get out and have a good time
There’s something sexy about nitro but I agree with your opinion. Electric is far more streamlined. Noise alone would be unacceptable in the urban area I live in. So I learned 2 things this video. Nitro is not for me and drifting on moss is my favorite kind of drift. Thanks for the education 👍
I tell you what from what I see you did one hell of a good job on the paint job of that body. Your daughter should be proud of you. Now go have some fun driving around with your daughter. God bless you both😊😊
Yep. If you love it, go for it. I'm a gear head through and through, but this has always seemed like a money pit headache to be avoided. Nice run though! You pulled off that pink nicely, sir!
Totally agree with that statement it's not worth the hassle but it's just fun at the highest level when it's going well. Still prefer electric, plug in, switch on go, swith off put in another battery, go again and repeat, repeat, repeat.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
For future reference. When you break in an engine, you do want to heat cycle the engine, be sure you are letting it cool down and the sleeve pinch up before continuing to the next tank. You also want to be sure that you are slowly giving it a little more throttle and putting it under load as you break it in. Not just sitting there, tank after tank. Fiddling around and working with the car is part of he fun. Nitro is very fun. Nitro vehicles won't burn your house down just keeping the fuel source stored.
I have a savage 4.6 gt-6 and don't feel that pinch? I also don't have that gear to move around underneath it. I have moved the drive shaft gear thing inside car but it moves smoothly?
A good friend of mine knows I'm an associated fan boy, been racing them since the days of gold pan chassis and mechanical ESC's "look up mechanical speed controls kids you have no idea how good we got it these days 👍" and he picked up a RC-10 nitro stadium truck at a garage sale and gave it to me. I have no idea what I'm doing but look forward to getting it going.
I bought that same chassis with the Ford Fiesta body on it from Ali. I still haven't had a chance to mess around with it. I agree 100% the noise is awesome, but they can be a pain. That's why I bought a cheap one. You probably already know this but make sure you burn through the tank, so the fuel doesn't gel up! 👍👍👍👍
I don’t mind the fiddling and the tinkering as much as I hate the sound. Those motors are so incredibly annoying. That little thing is pretty fast though great video man.
1) Priming: Hold your finger on the exhaust and prime the lines by tugging on the pullstart just until you see fuel about to enter carb. Then let go of the exhaust and a few tugs she should fire right up. 2) You should start to lean out the mixture screw after break in. You can hear it being really sluggest right off throttle bc its getting too much fuel. They set these engines very rich for break in to keep lubrication high. 3) Make sure to set up your fail safe with nitro! Once the receiver looses range or battery goes flat it will run away and smash into the hardest thing it can find. I am convinced that all nitro RC's turn into a seeking missile during a runaway lol 3) Nitro's are awesome! But you often wind up spending more time working on the dam things than ripping them. Enjoy!
Thanks my dude! It's a frustration curve for sure. Batteries have come a long way and are better than ever before. Not to mention more power on the spot and cleaner
I like the idea of nitro, two stroke is more mess and smelly mixing that stuff. I would probably go for the FTX Banzia as a first nitro so it could be converted to electric later.
I def see the frustration. As a dude who used to work on cars and small engines for a living, I’ll probably still get one eventually, unless I end up with a gas unit first! The car looks awesome, even after all the crashes! 😂
Yeah bro I agree. I think a real gasser will be my next fuel car if anything at all. If I want busted knuckles, Id rather do it on something a bit bigger 😂
Idk if you did, but always prime your engine before starting. Plug the exhaust with your finger and turn the engine over until you see fuel travel to the carb through the fuel lines. Which should be instantly. Then your rc should start pretty fast. That’s why you’re sitting there pulling on that pull start for a while lol 🔥
Dude, pink or not, that car looks sick! And sounds like a chainsaw! 😂 You know what, I may still have an old broken chainsaw around my parent's farm... 🤔 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Nitro engines are stupid simple once you learn how it works. I've been in the hobby for 20 years, and all I really enjoy running is nitro. The sound smell and high rpm of a small block is what it's all about for me. Also I love to tinker so the maintenance is perfect for me to relax. MAKE NITRO GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
@disciplinerc 2 SPEED BABY! maybe look into getting a good tuned pipe for it, 2 stroke engine exhausts are extremely important for performance. These engines can really turn some good rpm with a quality pipe!
Idk if it still is made, but there used to be a liquid u could buy called nitro sense that was added to the fuel. It made the exhaust fumes smell like fruity candy. Or root beer or bubble gum. Making toxic fumes smell safe and tasty don't sound like the greatest idea now that I think about it.. lol
0:06 I'm prodicting a ton of laughs in this video because I know first hand that dealing with nitro powered R/C Planes,Helis,Jets and especially Cars are a double edge sword yes once they are all set up and tuned up they are a lot of fun no doubt but on the other they messy and noisey and take a lot of time and patience plus tend piss off people like your neighbors and"Karens"😂😂😂😂😂 4:54 DAMN!!! Haha it literally shot out from under me and bolted to the fence 🤣🤣 It's a different experience for sure, but I don't think I'll be returning to it anytime soon
Brushless is cool & sure it’s fast… buuuut when you have a Nitro that is dialled and running perfect nothing touches it. I do have the ftx version of this car and it is a lot of car for the money! Definitely a good choice if you do want to try Nitro, once you step into a Nitro monster truck it’s even better, two / three speed auto gearbox & reverse, a lot of horse power and wheel stands for days 👌 it’s nice to have both Electric & Nitro to enjoy the positives of both!
Unfortunately the big problem i find with nitro is god forbid there is a 5 degree difference in weather you have to completely fine tune the carb again.. the noise is fun and i love the smell but it's way too much of a head ache compared to electric
I wanted to see , feel and live out the whole experience of being frustrated, with it. You didn’t even punish it or throw it to the curb. You didn’t run over it with you truck like rc car guy garage. I thought you were a better influencer than that…! 🥴 Sooo, I bought one, I bought one! Happy happy joy joy! 🎉🥳🫠🤗No, really great review bud. I’ve never really had an interest in nitro. Someday would like to be able to get a gasoline truck. Now that seems FUN! Just no room for it!👊🏼😎🏁🍻
I left that angry swearing but out 🤬🤬 It's fun, but a headache. And yes I agree, a gas vehicle would be tons of fun. They are way less fiddly I've been told
Those Force engines are really easy to start, I've never preheated mine & I've ran it on cold winter days no sweat. I actually have the FTX version of this & the FTX nitro Zorro with the same engine. Both with TWO SPEEDS baby.! 😉 You NEED the two speed, they transform the car.!!!
Awesome dude, nice work! Thanks for the offer, but no. I don't think I'll ever do anything nitro again. I always wanted to try, but it's not for me at all 😅
If I could recommend a little hump pack or a velcro strap/rubber bands around the AA battery holder. You'll have one of those pop out and the car will just try to drive out of your life.... Ask me how I know 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah I had wondered about that. I didn't know how to stop the engine either at first until I bumped the flywheel. Fun experience, but can't say I'll return anytime soon
Its all good your right if you don't like to tinker then this hobby is not you.Great video love that you gave it a try.See you on the next one.I have 7 nitros it alot of fun my thought is once you get the tune right its fun as hell.I have the a E slash i built its alot of fun it runs 2,3 S flyes.Have a wonderful day see you next time.

Hi man Great video and overall attitude as allways, I personally really like nitro but they can be very fussy, 1/5 scale gas is were the real party is at (: Like you i found the "Beluga" very nice and im having alot of fun with it, but my transmitter just suck. It gives 80% steering with the first 20% movement of the wheel, very aggresive. I was thinking about getting the DumboRC DDF-350, but how would i make the lights work with a dumbo receiver? Since the standard setup is 3 wire lighting and the Dumbo receivers i can find only use 2 wires.
That's a good question. You may need to get the 10ch receiver with it when you order. Each button though can act as a switch, can't say you would be able to get the signal lights going 😬
Outside temperature is to cold for the tune on the engine that's why it's stalling. That head is probably 20 degrees to cool for optimal nitro burn so as it idles there becomes to much nitro to ignite so it bogs down and stalls. That tune will probably be perfect for a summer's day. Outside temperature plays a big part in nitro tuning even just 5 degrees difference from day to day will change how the engine performs. That's the pain in nitro, the car works good today but it's cooler tomorrow and will need tuning again. Head temperature is important .
Nitro's are cool, but I cant have it since I live in a town (Its kinda cramped)so its going to be very loud and also my father said it will consume nitro you buy from a shop which.......im too lazy to buy🤪.
I'm with you about not knowing ish. I have a Redcat shockwave (or something) that looks alot like this but a buggy...maybe it is..maybe it's not? All I know is, it needs repairs lol
I appreciate you running a nitro so I don't have to. Nitros are really cool and they have their place for sure, but its not for me. Thanks for sacrificing your hearing for this video. Take care!
I will say. Is electric “better”? Absolutely, stab a battery in and it’s gonna run and do the thing BUT, gas/nitro RC’s will always have a place in my collection, my first hobby grade rc was a OFNA Ravager about 15 odd years ago. I was maybe about 16 at the time and it’s definitely a learning curve but man I had an absolute riot thrashing that car around and the memories that were made with it. I do mainly run electric stuff now but I do still have a handful of my combustion powered cars that I get out when I’m ready to make some noise!
I agree with you for sure. There is a place still in the hobby for these. I'm hoping to get a 2 speed gearbox and hit it again when the weather gets better 👍
Hold up, I actually watched the entire video before commenting prematurely... and you mean to tell me that entire time... 'She' said NOTHING?! 😂 Great video though!
Lol i absolutely agree with you also I started with nitro man remember smashing my knuckles Many times 🤣 it's fun when it's going but it's hard work .also you need to know your engine and learn to listen to it as when it's running well rich or lean and about to cut out . It's a long process for sure electric is a lot easier or proper petrol 2/ . Still made a very cool video 👍 as always
@@disciplinerc that’s strange I’d expect it would have a alcohol-ish smell as nitro is partly made from ethanol I get a head ache the moment I get a whiff of my isopropyl alcohol
Hey I know I’m late to this but u don’t really want this small motor to scream it’s ears out so ritchen it up counter clockwise more fuel cooler engine last longer
Part of its lack of speed is that usually onroad nitro cars have a two speed transmission. Your car looked like it had a single spur gear. So I'm gonna guess that the gear ratio you have is equivalent to first gear. Get that 2nd gear and she'd be ripping down the street.
I made the mistake of the buying a Traxxas T-Max nitro thing years ago, hated it, it was always a struggle to get it running and keep it running. I bought an upgrade engine in desperation which was much better but still a pain in the ass. Put me completely off rc everything. Back then electric cars weren't so much of a thing, probably because of nicads which I did have some experience of in the 90's with my Tamiya Hotshot and Tamiya Lunchbox but 19 minutes runtime wasn't much fun.
I get it, batteries have come light years ahead from what they used to be. 8hr charge for 20mins was the worst. With instant, clean and massive power, I don't know why anyone would choose nitro in this day and age. Unless you like to fiddle and tinker I spose 😁
Aggghgh thats just my frustration on not getting around to watching till now. It was another cool Vid and the body looks amazing. I don't need or want a nitro. I think I would rage out on it. Can't wait for you to test out more stuff I really don't need. I mean that. It means I won't waste my monel 😂 keep up the fine work mate.
Life gets in the way I get it dude 🤣🤣 Same goes for me too! Nitro isn't for me either tbh, but I'm glad I gave it a try so others can see if it's right for them 👍
i think if you have a lot of electrics and you want something different then its fine to have a nitro. But if its your 1st/only Rc then id say no way. Im also a nitro noob, one thing id say is you need to get the easy-starter rather than the pull-cord. Thats too much work
Had one of these and was absolutely useless.. spurs stripped.. inconsistent starts.. then kept cutting out. Finally sorted issue then disaster struck caught fire while using an wasn’t close by so cut my losses and let it burn away 😂
Man, I'm low key so glad you hated it. 😂😂😂 No offense to die hard nitro dudes, but what an absolute waste of time and effort. Yeah, I know.... "but the sound! And the smell! There's nothing like it!" Bro I can literally slap a couple lipos in, have 3 times the torque, be ready to run when I turn the ESC on, and beat your nitro in a race. 🤣 Great video dude! 😎🤘
Dont get mr wrong nitro is cool but too much headaches like when you really wanna play wigh it and it takes 10 minutes of starting it i loved my tmaxx but too many headaches now i have 2 electric drift cars
Nop, no nitro for me lol Hate the sound, reminds me of lawnmowing hate lawnmowing. Onboard sound was nice lol On the positve less chance too burn your house down with a nitro than a bunch of lipos.

Good information to know. I'm planning a 2 speed gear box for the next crack once warmer temps come out way 👌
@@disciplinerc nice. Have 2 2 speed nitros old hpi nitro RS4 3 and old kyosho superten. Love it as they change gear.
That transmitter is my next purchase I think
You can't go wrong with a Dumborc transmitter, they are easy to setup and good range too, and optional with giro if you want it.😊😊😊
💯%
It's really great for the price dude. Backward compatible too with other Dumbo RX's 👍
Had mine for about 4 years so far no problems with it, touch wood.
I got out of nitro once I got into upgraded/ racing... Kept blowing connecting rods
Sounds like I need to do that next 😅
Nitro's are cool, but I cant have it since I live in a town
(Its kinda cramped)so its going to be very loud and also my father said it will consume nitro you buy from a shop which.......im too lazy to buy🤪.
I hear that completely in every aspect
I'm with you about not knowing ish. I have a Redcat shockwave (or something) that looks alot like this but a buggy...maybe it is..maybe it's not?
All I know is, it needs repairs lol
That sounds about right, I know they had a chassis that looks just like the HSP. Repairs are the order of the day here too 😄
I appreciate you running a nitro so I don't have to. Nitros are really cool and they have their place for sure, but its not for me. Thanks for sacrificing your hearing for this video. Take care!
Took one for the team bro 😜👍
Nope i dont do nitro, id sooner work on a real vehicle instead. Awesome video, keep em coming and stay safe.
I have to agree, if I want busted knuckles its gonna be on something a lot bigger 😁👍
Hold up, I actually watched the entire video before commenting prematurely... and you mean to tell me that entire time... 'She' said NOTHING?! 😂 Great video though!
Well done sir, well done 👍
My guy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
😉👍 You rock bro! 🌟
Proper fuel I'm actually considering. A 1/5 gas beast would be fun 😁
@@disciplinerc lol they are way easier than nitro expensive yes but fun I love mine 👊💥
Sniffing the fumes😂
Honestly almost no smell considering. Taste on the other hand 😅👌
@@disciplinerc that’s strange I’d expect it would have a alcohol-ish smell as nitro is partly made from ethanol I get a head ache the moment I get a whiff of my isopropyl alcohol
@@Retrograde99 I thought the same too, super mild smell I can't really describe, no alcohol smell at all
lol my first real hobby rc car was nitro jato 3.3, i got it when i was 13, now im 25 and got only electric cars
I get it for sure. Electric has come so far and is more reliable then ever
@@disciplinerc for real man, also batteries are last a lot longer than in the past, love your vids man 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@idan678 yeah this is true 👌
I bet the jato would put a bigger smile on your face if you got it dialed in.
Hey I know I’m late to this but u don’t really want this small motor to scream it’s ears out so ritchen it up counter clockwise more fuel cooler engine last longer
Copy that! Good weather coming, will be out again soon 👍
Part of its lack of speed is that usually onroad nitro cars have a two speed transmission. Your car looked like it had a single spur gear. So I'm gonna guess that the gear ratio you have is equivalent to first gear. Get that 2nd gear and she'd be ripping down the street.
I think the next time I take it out, I'll install a 2 speed trans. A lot of other people say that will wake it up too👌
Yes it will make you mad. Yet its fun to work out bit by bit, but the sensation and smell is unreal.
nitro is a nightmare full stop great video though
I guess the vid could have been alot shorter before I even recorded it 😂😂 But I took one for the team I spose 😁
Bro the Tmaxx is awesome it's my favorite Rc 😁✌️
Aggghgh thats just my frustration on not getting around to watching till now.
It was another cool Vid and the body looks amazing. I don't need or want a nitro. I think I would rage out on it. Can't wait for you to test out more stuff I really don't need. I mean that. It means I won't waste my monel 😂 keep up the fine work mate.
Life gets in the way I get it dude 🤣🤣 Same goes for me too! Nitro isn't for me either tbh, but I'm glad I gave it a try so others can see if it's right for them 👍
Gracias a tu vídeo ahora quiero un nitro 😂
😂 Fun, but a lot of work
What's your pet hate with rc's.
Gluing tires....the worst 😤
I only glue the outside, makes it easier to change them if needed.
@@allanritchie1539 still hate it 😂
theres a basic nitro carb set up
I can imagine it only gets crazier 👍
where is Iron Man? because Nitro Man is here 😂
where is the exit door ok I'm going I found this on the left----->🚪
Sorrrry 😅
Your good bro 😂👍
😂😂😂
i think if you have a lot of electrics and you want something different then its fine to have a nitro. But if its your 1st/only Rc then id say no way.
Im also a nitro noob, one thing id say is you need to get the easy-starter rather than the pull-cord. Thats too much work
Nitro if cool if you like jacking around with stuff .... Losi 5t with the gas engine is where it's at. Nitro bad gass good
Yes I've been told. That or 2 stroke will be my next fuel vehicle 👍
Had one of these and was absolutely useless.. spurs stripped.. inconsistent starts.. then kept cutting out. Finally sorted issue then disaster struck caught fire while using an wasn’t close by so cut my losses and let it burn away 😂
Sick body 🔥🔥🔥
🤩👌
Any newbies curious about nitro can get a feel for it by driving an electric R/C and occasionally stopping to punch yourself in the junk. 🤣
Very well put my man!! 🤣🤣
Retired ex semi pro nitro racer at your service any time
Appreciate that. There will be a return with a 2 speed gear box once the weather warms up 🤘
Man, I'm low key so glad you hated it. 😎🤘
I completely agree dude. So much cleaner and 99% less headache. But I can at least say I've tried it 😅🤘
@disciplinerc amen bro! At least you tried it... that's the perfect line. 👌
@@WeissRC 😁🙏
Don't be lazy 😁✌️
Dont get mr wrong nitro is cool but too much headaches like when you really wanna play wigh it and it takes 10 minutes of starting it i loved my tmaxx but too many headaches now i have 2 electric drift cars
I fully agree man, not worth the pain in the neck. But it was fun to try and now I can say I've done it 👍
And that’s why I love my Primalrc V3 electric conversion. It can’t be beat with its torque instant power response and no ear plugs
I've seen one in person only once and it was 12s of awesome 🤘
AA’s are a recipe for a runaway. Ask me how i know 😂
Electric all the way burt !
😁🤘
(gestures to a bottle of nitro fuel) This stuff will make you into a goddam sexual Tyrannosaurus! Just like me.
🤣🤣
Bit to loud for me
👍👍
running richer than bill gates lol
has a nice purrr to it, personally i would probably go for electric, but they do sound pretty cool!
That's gold!! 🤣🤣
Nop, no nitro for me lol Hate the sound, reminds me of lawnmowing hate lawnmowing. Onboard sound was nice lol
On the positve less chance too burn your house down with a nitro than a bunch of lipos.
Yes that is true 😂👌
Dont run AA batteries
👌👌
First!!
YEET!! 🤘😎🤘
You can always turn it into an electric one.
This is true 🤔
@@disciplinerc Have you seen the new rig that is released from HUANGBO ? I know this comment has nothing to do with the video but I was thinking maybe you friends at BG can hook you up with the new WRANGLER looking rig. I saw that it has more features. You should get it before that Phil/TOMLEY guy !!!!! Ohhhhh I just saw his comment damn !!!!
Definitely not, slower, smellier, dirtier, noisier, no low speed control 🤮
Agreed 💯👍
Not worth for the noise alone
It's pretty ear shattering that's for sure 😁
Had one of these and was absolutely useless.. spurs stripped.. inconsistent starts.. then kept cutting out. Finally sorted issue then disaster struck caught fire while using an wasn’t close by so cut my losses and let it burn away 😂
