In this video you will learn about what telogen effluvium is, its overall impact on hair loss, and some ways to go about reversing the underlying causes amplifying its impact. In some cases the lack of hair regrowth following a stressful event is not due to the loss generated by the telogen effluvium, but rather the impact of underlying nutritional, genetic or inflammatory related issues. Find out how to rehabilitate your scalp and begin regrowth following telogen effluvium in this video!

Well, we have a protocol for that. We seem to have an issue with Covid and the vaccine relating to gut issues. You would need to use the FoliGrowth serum and the methylated version of the vitamin. And repair and gut issues that you have along with some trace minerals additionally, bloodwork for a full inflammatory zone. Three panel would be ideal.

Hello Doctor William. I had dengue fever and recovered on January 15 2024 and I started experiencing hair loss around mid-April. In general, how long does hair loss last due to telogen effluvium? and how long does it take for hair to grow back after the first loss appears? According to the doctor, when will my hair start to grow? I hope the doctor answers😢

Hey doc please help - I was diagnosed with TE, my trichologist put it down to low ferritin (it was 17%) - devastating. I was advised to get a transfusion (ferrinject 1000mg) to get my levels right back up.
It’s been over 2 months now - when will the shedding stop? And what more can I do? supplements/shampoo/nutrition wise?
I’ll be in LA later this year and wish to see you too. Your help is invaluable. X

Had TE after a narcissist… (stress) started after the break up and went on for 24 months until I moved and felt safe… 8 months after shedding, (today) lots of new hairs but still see my scalp. Nutrition is under control, (the problem was high cortisol, which is now been subsided) been microneedling. Considering minoxidil, but am super hesitant to pharmaceuticals.
I guess my question is: do the new hairs start in patches of months? Just becuase I see new hairs, they arnt happening everywhere at the same time. Really considering the minoxidil for a kick start, or maybe this melatonin you mention would be better to experiment with?
    Thank you kindly!

Hi William, I’m 64 years of age and had a thick head of hair my entire life until I was diagnosed with primary hypogonadism 4 months ago and started on testosterone 100 mg weekly. I started having significant thinning and hair loss. Saw a dermatologist
and was diagnosed with telogen effluvium. I have read that rapid, large fluctuations in hormone levels can induce TE. My Testosterone level went from 104 to 667 when checked 7 weeks after initiation. In your experience have you seen TE develop after initiation of testosterone for primary hypogonadism? Thanks

Hi, I have DHT hair loss and I am currently going through IVF treatments in Australia (more affordable than US). I started minoxidil last year but had to stop due to the IVF. I also do not eat animal protein at all and rely on tofu, seitan, tempeh, TVP for protein. I just ordered your DHT blocker, shampoo, and NutraM DHT Blocking Hair Serum. Along with your products, washing my hair daily, 15 min scalp massage (moving scalp over the head not just hair massage), oiling my hair with rosemary (I know you have said this will not help regrow hair but can help with inflammation). Is there anything else you think I can do? The IVF has been incredibly stressful which makes me wonder if that has made the hair loss worsen over the past 6 months since starting IVF. I would love to visit you when I am back in the US.

I'm sure there is more that you can do but the fact that your hormones are in flux because of the IVF is going to create challenges. We would need to get full inflammatory bloodwork, which is the zone three panel and dive your personal situation so that we would know why you are losing hair.

I had stopped topical minoxidil for 13 days, but resumed and added oral minoxidil 1.5 mg, hair fall stopped, so my Tf period lasted only about 3 weeks. MY question can I continue topical 5% foam, once a day and oral 1.5 mg? BTW, my hair was and is fairly full and thick, however the temporal area recided about.3 cm.

I went a dermatologist last week (finally) and all he did was run his hand through my hair a few times tell me I definitely had TE and then try to get me to start minoxidil. I asked if this could kick in genetic hair loss or if my hairline was looking bad because of another problem and he said that TE won’t kickstart balding (not true) and he avoided my other questions. I don’t know what to do anymore.

It sounds frustrating to feel like your concerns weren't fully addressed at your dermatologist visit. It’s crucial to differentiate between Telogen Effluvium and other types of hair loss, especially when genetic factors might be involved. In the video "TELOGEN EFFLUVIUM! STRESS SHEDDING AND HOW TO GO ABOUT FIXING IT," William discusses the importance of addressing underlying causes, such as nutritional deficiencies or hormonal imbalances, which can exacerbate or trigger Telogen Effluvium. Getting a comprehensive blood test to check levels like ferritin, vitamin D, and others can provide a clearer picture and guide appropriate treatment. Remember, addressing the root cause rather than just the symptoms is key to effectively managing hair loss.
