@@Carolina-rd3gh have you had bloodwork done and your testosterone levels thoroughly checked? Women produce far less dht than men normally and if they don't there is usually a reason why (thyroid issues, menopause etc). You could on the other hand be extremely sensitive to dht so even though what you produce is minimal it still has an effect on your hair. On another note I don't think finasteride is approved for female use mainly because of its potential effects on the male fetus, obviously don't get pregnant on finasteride and if you were looking to at some point I would imagine you would need a considerable period of time off the medication before hand, be wary of the half life of finasteride if doing this because some studies show it can linger in your system longer than the half life suggests, I would again suggest having bloodwork done a while after discontinuation to confirm that the medication is out of your system for any women looking to conceive 👍.
I know nobody cares , but I have been taking finasteride , dutasteride , Minoxidil Powder for the past 3 months, plus topical Minoxidil for the past 2 years . So far my crown seems to grow back with very thin hair, I will say in December my results will be much better . I am losing like about 70 hairs a day.
Hello Matt, I suffer from a condition called burning scalp syndrome. I think this may be related to a neck injury I have as the nerve damage in my neck spreads to my scalp. Could this be triggering chronic Telogen effluvium? My loss is diffuse in all my scalp and its connected with the burning I experience. Thanks.
There’s no record of hair loss in my family. I have been shedding both thick and thinner hairs. I don’t know if it is the fact my sleep schedule is messed up and that I am stressed out a lot.
Hi Matt, very informative video, you did a great job explaining it. But I still cannot know if the hair loss i experienced is long term hair loss or tellogen effluvium. I always had thin hair, and it never shedded(I never saw any hait on my pillow, comb etc.) And about 4 months after a stressfull period, I experienced a massive thinning of hair on my temporal region. I started using minoxidile 5% right away, and my hair was back to normal after about 3 months. I am still using minoxidile( not as much as before) but I'm afraid if i stop using that my hair will begin thinning again, as I am still not sure if its short term or long term cause.
Still didn’t understand how do I know if I have androgenitic alopecia or telegenic effluvium ? Ive been losing my hair since 14 years old. but it's been somewhat slow. but its getting worse over the years if i hear it back the light shines right through front my hair line is super chippy. i disguise it well. N thought id be just like my dad im trying to figure this out. im 28 now and have a "head of hair" but again its looking quite thin. but my dad started typical male pattern baldness at 16. and had the sides go up until his island of hair was one. But thats not whats happening to me. like the norwood scale dosent look like what im going through it looks like diffuse thinning. Does that i mean i have something different than my father. My moms dad has a thick full head of hair til he died. my dads dad had head of hair too. some receding on the sides but still quite full. so im trying to figure this out
I took creatine and then after three months I started loosing a lot of hairs i stopped my creatine and started taking dht blockers and stuff but it doesn’t work and I lost like 50 perfect of my frontal top hairs in about 3 months now the shedding is in control but my hair density is a lot less im wondering if it will grow back? What if I have hair missing on the sides and back which is growing unevenly in many areas in addition to the top of my scalp, which is somehow more and shorter there?
I have the same problem, the hairs above my ear are very small like just 1cm and then they shed.Every day i lose around 65 to 70 hairs.30 hairs from the sides and 40 hairs from top of my scalp. I think it's due to vitamin D deficiency.Type , Best vitamin for hair growth and then you will be able to see a YTshort from William Gaunitz Trichologist youtube channel. In that video it's stated that vitamin deficiency will result in hairloss from top, sides and back of the head....

About a month into my use of an accident I started noticing shedding already, now it’s been 2 1/2 months after I’ve stopped and I’m still noticing more shedding. had blood test for 3rd time at private GP last month. They said it _is_ the thyroid. My first 🧪 two were false negatives. @@themissinfowar6629, Thanks for the update! I'm in a predicament. I just recently underwent surgery for my kidney, but the issues may have started about 2 years ago. I started to sweat more. My hair changed, I would normally wash it every other day, now I have to wash it every day because it gets oily over a 24hr period. As the kidney issues progressed over what I can recall being 2 years, my appetite went along with it. I'm 31, 5'10" and as of writing, 117lbs where before I sat around 130lbs. My hair thinning has been mainly the front/bangs area, but has begun to progress onto the top of my scalp. My crown however is still retaining its density. Every shower I take, I have a good amount of hair fall, definitely not 100 strands, but over the last bit, the hair remaining at the front and top has diffused enough where I can see my scalp. Would kidney problems such as a fibroid growth, blocking the ureter tube to my bladder cause physical stress and increase my cortisol levels to where my hair is thinning/falling out? I don't want to jump the gun with medications, especially if it's TE and the kidney problems were the underlying cause. I'm about to see the doctor soon, looking to get a full blood panel work up, along with checking my deficiencies and hormonal levels. But if you could theorize, would a physical ailment I just recently resolved through surgery, be the cause of possible Telogen Effluvium? Thanks.

Hello Matt,
I suffer from a condition called burning scalp syndrome.
If hair isn’t falling out from my head, then I’m not experiencing hair loss or diffuse thinning, right?
I’m sorry but it was pretty stupid to use minoxidil without consulting with a Dr first to figure out the cause of the hair loss.
What about now man? Please respond
Excellent explaination

What do u call hair that is telogen effluvium but not regrowing.
(I see some baby hairs on my hairline and yes they are getting denser by time but I haven’t noticed any difference on my scalp)

Thanks.
