Hey @Matthew! Just to clarify about Real Time LUT and Proxy files! You can put the camera in "Real Time LUT" as the color profile, but instead of activating the LUT (just have the LUT you want selected but set to "Off") the system will let you apply the LUT to only the Proxy file if you choose. This is done in the Proxy menu instead of the color profile menu. This way, your full res footage on card 1 can stay in LOG, while the Proxy files are LUT applied for upload.

I really hope the HDMI lag is fixed in the next firmware.
Also, have you ever tested the camera in a sports environment, say football? Does human/eye AF work quick enough for sports?

Hey Mathew, love your video. Quick question. I just purchased an S5IIx and was just wondering about which firmware update do I need to download and install to my camera? I believe the latest firmware this April is 3.0 for the S5II and 2.0 for the S5IIx. As I haven't installed any firmwares as yet, my question is: will just downloading the latest firmare cover any previous firmware updates that I have not done yet, or must I download all firmware updates sequentially. i.e. Firmware 1.0 followed by 2.0 then finally download and install 3.0? Thanks.

I believe the safest approach to download the firmware in orders to make sure there is no technical glitches

since you know the camera so well, maybe you are able to answer this: How can i set the camera that it DOES NOT LOCK THE EXPOSURE AUTOMATICALLY ( AEL LOCK ) when half pressing the shutter button ????

Are you shooting in Auto when this happening, is this photos, little confused by what you mean lock the exposure. I shoot all manually so I do all my adjustments before I take a photo or video each time

​@@MatthewDangyou well my S5IIX seems to lock the AE in AUTO MODE while half pressing the shutter. My Sony A7SIII has a setting that lets the camera adjust freely while holding the camera with the shutter button half pressed ( which is imperative for my journalistic work so I can switch from point A to point B without getting over or underexposed images ) Since I love the quiet mechanical shutter on the Lumix I want to use it instead of the Sony- but this AE lock thing is in the way ( I ruin too many shots , because to get the decisive moment you need to keep the finger on the release at all times not constantly re- press the shutter button over and over again ) so I thought this might be something in the settings but AEL AFL ON/Off setting does not seem to change anything.

@@mamumonkan I will be honest, I never have worked in any Automodes as a professional, so I am not 100% sure if there is a feature that can correct your Auto Lock Settings. I will say the new firmware does add 1.5 seconds per shooting before you press record. So if you could rewire how you shoot photos and wait for the moment to just press the shutter instead of half pressing that could solve your issue. Other wise I would just shoot manual and then the exposure can be set perfectly the way you want.

i think real time lut in proxies is available with the new update while keeping the full res footage without lut - at least that's what i watched on other videos

@@MatthewDangyou Yeah I hope so, that makes the most sense, get your small files out quick with a quick grade on them from the LUT and keep the log for when you have the full files!

Yeah! I want full control over my normal footage but I can see advantages just having the color grade completely off though if someone is actually editing them in real time they would have to color grade everything once they get the real files. But for super quick turn around times and just exporting the proxies could be nice having the real time lut
