- Quick disclaimer! I know I mentioned the crop around the 9-minute mark but I meant to say 2.08X crop, not a 2.8X crop

I've been so looking forward to this!
Focus upgrades are the most important to me, super stabe is also great, pretty happy I went with the 24mm lens instead of the 35mm :)
The 24mm lens rocks!
The only person to cover the crop with 60fps High E-stab 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 8:11
why not use it with Boost I.S. too? It's like a slider for specific kind of movements without wable!
great to see the autofocus improvements , I'll like to see a bit more footage but I may finally take the plunge and buy an s5iix .
just wondering , can you assign the stabilization option to a button and change it while its recording ? (for that in demand digital magnification) ?
Yes you can assign a button, for the electronic stabilization you cannot turn it on while recording, with boost image stabilization (which makes it look like a tripod) you can turn that on and off during recording
When will we get a new firmware for the S5iix, say 2. X with prores Raw and BRAW
Where’s the pre-burst option?
OK SO the proxies when i render that footage out they will be like the regular quality footage?
Thanks for the video, what is the difference between the 2 versions? Which would be the best for wildlife photography please?
S5ii! And nothing really besides enhanced video features
I really wonder with the new 2.08X crop, which lens will be the best for documenting daily life and travels for family videos (that incorporates some vlogging here and there)? Will it be the 16-35 f/4? 20-60 kit lens? 14-28?
Well remember that is when you are shooting high mode in 4K 48/60fps
What about Info Display simultaneously run on external monitor and in camera monitor? Did they fixed it? After 1.5 update I cant use info on both monitors... And yes, it worked before v1.5 I have recording of that.
No fix on that unfortunately. And interesting was that on the S5ii? Because I had the S5iiX before release and it had that “issue” still
@@MatthewDangyou I have S5 and S5IIx and S5 still have this feature and S5IIx after firmware update 1.5 this one was lost.
Good info
Thank you for the comparison of the crops from the different forms of stabilization. When walking or making large movements, I know that the warpy corners show up in the uncropped 24p image, but is the same true for the cropped 60p image (are the e-stabilization modes necessary when already cropped into APS-C for 60p)? Thanks!
Theoretically no it shouldn’t show up
@@MatthewDangyou Thanks 👍
I haven't updated s5iix yet, should I update the first versions before the last one, which will be released on 04/22/2024? Or is it enough to update only the latest version? Thanks in advance !!!
The firmware should always be cumulative.
Yeah you should update the prior updates before jumping to this one. It will be a bit annoying but safer for the camera
@@MatthewDangyou Thank you !!!
I updated the camera. The interesting thing is that there is only 1 update on the panasonic page, regardless of whether you choose a different date from 2023 to 2024. always redirects you to the latest update!
Thanks for the help and quick response though!
It won’t let me open the bin file
Unable to expand "S5m2_V30 2.bin". It is in an unsupported format.
You just need to put the bin onto the SD Card I believe.
For me this camera doesnt make sense, because 60 % of my work is 50p and i get no benefit from Full frame, on top of that the additional crop
If I buy one from adorama or b and h will it already have the firmware updated?
It might be probably not. The firmware update is extremely easy to update though.
@@MatthewDangyou okay cool thank you
did 2.08 crop in 60fps give a significant reduction in image quality?
No it is still technically 4K footage just cropped in. It looks the same as 4K footage technically. It isn’t like you are zooming in on the 4K camera in post since it is internally doing the cropping
@@MatthewDangyou cool thank you. what are the best internal fan settings for Lumix s5iix?
@user-id6gs5xj9b I have mine on auto or the default setting and no issues
Where do you download it from?
av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/dsc/download/index4.html
Got me all excited... but it's not here... yet. Soon...
I don't want to alarm you, but your camera appears to be on fire! 😉😂
😂🤷🏼♂️
What are proxies?
basically they are lower quality videos of the main footage. So if you have an older computer adding proxies will allow your computer to read the files faster since they are much smaller, then you replace the proxies with the normal footage before you export and you are good to go!
Pre capture for me
I guess, as far as Panasonic is concerned, GH6 shooters can kick rocks!
👀
Does seem like it. I’ve been waiting for a FW update for the GH6 for a while as well.
Becouse GH6 is MFT it probably has as good or better IBIS. As for AF the fact that GH6 does not have Phase detect AF is a hardware limitation so will not change until GH6 MII to GH7 whatever they decide to call it. Also, the GH6 still has some abilities the S5II does not have.
@@garypranzo9334 It may not have phase detect, but an effort could be made to improve what it has. It could get real-time LUT, improved E stabilisation, proxy recording to the SD card, camera to cloud, and Timecode over Bluetooth like the Fuji cameras. Loads of things could be done to improve the usability of the BGH1, all software-based, especially now that box cameras appear to be in vogue again. Remember, the GH6 is meant to be the cinema camera of the bunch.
This is why I have no manufacturer loyalty. I have the S1H, had it for a few years. So I will look at models available for my next purchase, I will part ex my camera and lenses for the best camera for my needs, an important feature will how well the manufacturer supports their products over the long term, like Sigma cameras.
Proxy recording. Okay BUT not available for the 6k open gate which is the one that you need it for most.
Yeahhhh it would’ve been super nice to have proxy open gate 6k
HDMI delay/latency? fixed or still the same?
Still the same
Yo that smoke is distracting 😂
Locksley so much hate😂 you know it looks cool👀
@@MatthewDangyou 🫵😂
No you😂
Sony do proxy recording better.
What do they do?
In which mirrorless camera they do proxies? 🤔
A7siii @@samuelboatengyt
@@LumixGang oh cool, but can you upload it in a a platform like frame IO? Or it is just recording to an SD ant that’s it?
업뎃도 좋은데
S1H 후속 달라고 ㅅㅂ
Still no 4k 120fps 👎👎👎
😂you ain't getting that in a firmware update. Plus this is a $2000 camera which is packing a ton of features for that price range for a full frame camera. Gotta wait and spend probably an extra $1500 to go those nicer features. Or just shoot on the G9ii
@@MatthewDangyou i do have other cameras but i wanted this feature in this s5xii camera, just like gh6 which came long back. But really disappointed.
@@ozzozz3529 yeahhh, that is sort of an unrealistic expectation just because this is a $2K camera while other camera brands with full frame 4K 120fps cost about $1,500 more so it will most likely eventually come from Lumix but not for $2K
Its not available, men you talk a lot
I never understood why people talk with hands. To me it signals someone i probably nervous, has no self control or is lying. It feels very negative and it looks akward. You will never see a talk sho master or a presenter talking with their hands. It is a very unprofessional thing to do for a person in front of the camera.
It’s actually very common and a normal practice in the states so😂🤷🏼♂️ seen typically as they know how to engage an audience
@@MatthewDangyou ok maybe europe is different. I know all people move hands a bit while talking but only small movements. If it looks like someone is catching flies i have a hard time to watch the video. As i want to concentrate on him and his message.
