    Just wanted to write another comment in case people didn’t make it to the end of the video, I am a big PSA fan! In all honesty, this video hurt to make. I hope you guys know that I value my viewers’ trust more than anything else, because without it, my word is no good moving forward. So when I’m having a great experience with a gun or piece of gear and I sing praises about it, know that I mean it. Just like when I have issues with some!thing, I’m going to tell you guys. I have the luxury of shooting a ton of different guns and collecting them all. But for the average person, it’s not lost on me that it’s very likely someone can make a big purchase based off something I recommend. I don’t take that lightly. Idc what was or wasn’t sent to me for free, whether someone did, or didn’t pay for a product showcase, the way I choose to deliver my opinions will not change. Y’all have my word. That said, I’m confident these rifles will be back in working order soon and I’ll keep you all posted.

      @@bp8023 Yeah...I'm sure it was just two random lemons in two different calibers that ended up with the same person. Either that extremely low probability outcome or Tim put a suppressor on the gun the get it to cycle properly without telling us why he added the suppressor and he cherry picked groups (which is why most of the groups were 3-shot groups).

    Another update for y’all, it could be a very likely that all the 6.5 rifle needed was to run with better mags. (Like the pmags it came with for example) I’m starting to hear about possible issues with that cartridge and the geometry of a retro metal mag. The 308 on the other hand, that didn’t seem magazine related to me. Just felt like a really slow bolt. We’ll learn everything we need to soon, but PSA has been great so far.

      I was just about to tell you this. Another TH-camr had your same problem and when he used mp mags he said he had no issues. Basically he only hand issues with the mags that came with the gun.

    • @justintodd3305
      @justintodd3305 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yeah man its the mags. I have the 308 and have put about 300 rounds through mine and my rounds were doing the same as yours. our airforce Stan mags make the m4 do similar crap so I switched the mag to a p mag and everything magically fixed itself. went from 2 out of every 20 not feeding or catching to 100 ish rounds more in the p mags and not one problem. the metal mags from what I can tell make the bullet nose creep up at a weird angle and caused those same weird failure to feeds and bullet dents. great video man, PSA always makes things right in my experience so I plan on reaching out with the info I have and seeing what they can do!

    • @Purplestain13
      @Purplestain13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure if you've come to a conclusion yet on the mags, but its the diameter of the 6.5 CM bullet that causing you issues, that mag is designed for the .308, the narrow 6.5 is getting fouled, I'm sure if you find a 20 round metal mag that works with 6.5 specifically you wouldn't have the same issues. (In fairness, please be sure to watch the update at the end) In this video, I review what is probably one of the hottest & most anticipated new releases in a very long time. At least for clone & long range enthusiast. These are the new billet SABRE-10 rifles. Specifically, the ones inspired my the Knights Armament Co. M110 SASS. I've got two, one chambered in .308, the other in 6.5 Creedmoor. As seen in the review, I'm having some issues with both in regards to the gas settings. As I write this description, both rifles are on their way back to PSA and they'll be looking them over. They'll be back before to long and we can pick up from there, stay tuned!

PSA has been coming out with great products, especially the last few years. Their AAC ammo line is hard to beat for the price and performance you get. Their 5.56 75gr BTHP, 77gr OTM along with the 300blk options I've used thus far have been reliable and accurate, and with current deals I suggest stocking up before prices go crazy and supply is limited.

    I carried the M110 SASS while I was in the USMC, and that is why I'm such a lover of .308/7.62x51 ... It's fun to see companies try to make a replica, but one thing they always miss is that the service moved to using a stock with both length of pull and cheek riser. Also, that first shot "flyer" you kept referring too may have been how that rifle performs cold-bore if you were taking a bit of time between ammunitions. Understanding, how a rifle/ammunition pair performs cold-bore is very important. Love the video!

    Do not worry about the review. It is honest and that is way more than many other sponsored platforms can say. You like PSA, I like PSA but sometimes things do not go well in the build process and misalignments happen in the gas system or variation in spec'd tolerances stack to result in less than optimal performance. It will be very interesting to hear what PSA finds. What would be awesome is if they video'd the forensic on the BCG and gas system and highlighted the issue(s). That is a bit much to ask but I have seen a lot of good studies on BCGs and there are ample opportunities for a slight variation to result in inefficiency. Keep up the great work!

    I have two PSA 300 B/O rifles and a Dagger. I've never had any problems with any of them. I agree with what you said at the end of your video in that there are countless other brands that I could buy. However, I trust PSA products and if I ever have an issue, I trust PSA will take care of it. Now. Having said that, I have a Ruger SFAR 308. During the first 40 rounds fired I had a failure to eject and two failures to feed. Before shooting the SFAR I had read that this gun likes to be heavily lubed. So after that second failure to feed I pulled the BCG and sprayed it down with CLP, shook off the excess and put it back together. Not a single problem after that. The SFAR has a 4-position adjustable block. I've been shooting on position 3, the fully gassed position. After Im done shooting I lightly clean and heavily lube the BCG and put it away. I have well over 1K rounds through it and no further issues (still on the fully gassed setting). The point I am making is that Ruger is also having issues with the gas system on the SFAR. Forums are full of comments and solutions to these gassing problems. Whats funny is that it seems like whenever someone buys a new SFAR they post the issues they're having and in my mind I'm saying we already dealt with that two months ago.
    One thing several folks on the SFAR FB forum have done is replace the gas bloack with an after market gas block that provides much finer tuning.
    Like I said I am no longer having issues with the SFAR, but in the back of my mind I feel like I have been dis-loyal to PSA. Sorry PSA. Next 308/AR10 will be from PSA. I promise. :)

    So, I purchased a Gen 3 PA65 platform a few years ago and after shooting it for close to a year I began making changes. It now more closely resembles the M110 both functionally and somewhat appearance. Though I've chosen a PRS Gen3 stock with rifle length buffer, Gieslle SSA-E trigger, upgraded to a superlative gas block, a PRI fore-end, and an American Precision Fat Bastard break, topped with a Vortex Viper 5-25X15 PST SFP, the rifle performs far more appropriately that it did originally. It shoots MOA effortlessly at 1k and doesn't stray far at 1400, so it does what I built it do. Good value overall.

    @Zel_eo ปีที่แล้ว +3

    After reviewing the video slowed down and frame by frame, I found something kind of interesting. The main issue you are having looks to be that the bolt is not fully going back. If you compare the frames around 24:23 to any of the normal cycling frames, the lugs never make it past the last quarter of the ejection port. I believe this is caused by a sort of slow leak on the gas-block.
    In many of the firing frames you can clearly see that the gas-block is leaking a bit. This is not completely abnormal as the gas-block isn't pressure fit, nor is it truly sealed. As such, small quick puffs of gas tend to escape. However, during the times when the rifle does not fully cycle, it seems as if the block does its initial puff but continues to still leaks extra gas after the fact. My guess would be that the tolerances between the block and the barrel are just far enough apart that the heat / pressure from the gas expands it out of spec. Thus, the bolt doesn't make its full travel rearward and has just enough forward momentum to push the round into the barrel lugs (This is what caused the dents in the case and pushed in rounds).

      I think you’re onto something, I thought the same thing, especially because there was some carbon starting to get built up by the gas block on both rifles. Again, not abnormal, especially going to be more noticeable on an FDE barrel. But could certainly be the case here.

      The reason I think it is gas leaking is due to person experience with it. Had a 5.56 gun that wouldn't cycle and chew up cases just like your PSA's were. Used slow motion video on my phone to see a leaking gas block and slow bolt push. The Fix I came up with was to put some high temp silicon engine gasket sealant between the barrel and the gas block. Has worked perfectly for 12k rounds so far lol.
      But, I'm sure PSA will get everything working right for ya. Seem like great dudes who actually care about their customers. Can't wait to see an update video on these things!

The rifle was FTF,FTE severe case marring, and was literally ripping the bullets out of cases when ejecting. PSA blamed the Norma 308/147gr, saying it was a recent bad batch recall. I expect the rifle to eject each round and not jam to where it takes 2 grown men to pry the charging handle back. I expect out of the box it should be able to handle firing a reasonable grain of round. I also expect a reputable company like PSA to back up the product for life. Im by no means I gunsmith, and quite frankly, new out of the box, I shouldn't have to be.

    The 2nd one has been rock solid from day 1. Shoots sub MOA at 100 with factory Hornady Black 168gr even though the first rifle HATES that ammo and won't group with it at all.

One of those bad rounds i had had an issue with the primer, and jammed up the gun. Took it back out today and put about 100 shots in with no issues. Im not a precision shooter or anything, but the groups were all really nice i thought at 100 yards they were about an inch to an inch and a half on 5 shot groups. I shot 10 rounds and 15 rounds once each as well, with about 8 of them being within an inch on the 10 round mag, and maybe 12 or 13 on the 15 round mag.

I kind of just accepted it and emailed them to see if its a common issue and what I could do to fix it. I let them know what mags it was happening with (which was all and of course some were worse than others), the next response was a shipping and return label. I received my rifle back which had my muzzle device and a modified ALG trigger in it (plus the scratches I knew I put on there) with the issue resolved. AR-10's tend to be a bit more finicky than AR-15's. I've got an 18 inch 308 that I built, and I'm trying to work the kinks out of it too. I think it will improve as I use the rifle, but I will be putting in a heavier hammer spring and possibly a chrome silicon buffer spring. Other builds I did where the cycling wasn't reliable, the chrome silicon buffer springs tended to improve reliability. Also they have a ridiculously long cycling life. A regular steel spring should be replaced every 12,000 rounds, but these have a cycling life of 500,000+ rounds so basically they will most likely outlive the rifle they are installed in. It also removes the "sprong" noise in the buffer assembly when cycling.
    They run between $15.00 to $20.00 for an AR-15 spring and around $30.00 for an AR-10 spring, so they aren't a real expensive upgrade. Again, make sure the spring is intended for your buffer assembly length, carbine or rifle.
    They get a thumbs up from me.

The PSAs I have are all fine. That said, my PSAs are pretty vanilla mil spec 5.56 or 300 blackout, so I'm sure the bugs have been worked out as opposed to a brand new product. Obviously you can spend more but you end up with diminishing returns very quickly, and I have experienced and have seen other people experience QC issues similar to what is seen in this video with high end builds.
