@@kensmith5694 It's definitely a sad one. I don't do a lot of sad songs. I had minimal time last night and was looking for a song Taylor Swift covered, that I knew well enough to do, and that also met the other theme. This was the first (and only) one I found. It is a great song though, and brings back nostalgic feelings of all those hours and years spent watching Grey's Anatomy.
It's freezing cold, windy and raining where I am, don't mind telling you I'm jealous of your location right now ! Good song choice Wendy and another lovely bring, thank you.
@@Bystander929 Thanks, Graham! The grass is always greener, hey? Yesterday it was 37 degrees here (almost 100 to my American friends). It was nearly 8pm before I could even bear to be outside for five minutes to make this video! I went to the open mic, but was so exhausted I didn't even feel up to playing. My American friend called, and I ended up taking him on a FaceTime video tour of the (air-conditioned) Aussie supermarket, because it was too hot to even try to talk outdoors.
That said, it has *been* pretty perfect first-days-of-summer weather up until then. I moved here for better weather and less winter, and I am (most days!) generally quite happy with my choice!
You assumed correctly! Great find! I'm not sure if even Edith knows Taylor did this one. I know the song but would never have been able to tell you who it was by! Really nice. Thank you, Wendy!
@@bobjking 😆😆😆 Thanks, Bob! I have this song in my head soundtrack from too many years of watching Grey's Anatomy. (But I couldn't have named the band either ... and I still don't really know how the verse melody goes. 😙)
@@ukeanflute I think this was their only hit ... at least I'm pretty sure it's the only one I know. It was featured a LOT in the long-running TV show Grey's Anatomy, which I used to watch all the time, so I know it from that. I think it's actually in Bb major, although it has many internal Gm7 chords ... but every phrase ends on a Bb. It definitely has a kind of minor feel to it - very sad song about failing to save someone and feeling helpless about it ... which happens a lot in the show!
Great song choice Wendy. Seems a bit breezy there too, but I bet it’s a nice warm breeze in Q’land 👍
That song qualifies as "a bit on the sad side". I think I will now go for a walk in the park.

Very nice Wendy

This is one of those songs which I happily sing along to when it comes on the radio, but ask me who sang it and I'm stumped. Now I'll just say Wendy.
@@MrSjpsjp Haha, Steve - same! And also happily sing along to without a clue what most of the words are or the melody of the verses....

I've checked, of course she knew! What was I even thinking? 😅

Fine song and performance. A new song and songwriter on me.
@@berniarmstrong Thanks, Berni!
A new song to me, and maybe I'll listen to the original (The Fray is a new name to me too). I like songs in the minor keys.

I've never heard of The Fray or this song either ... I enjoyed your version, though, Wendy!
@@limousinlil Thanks, Val. It used to get lots of airtime in the TV show Grey's Anatomy.
