I was really surprised when I started playing it. It's super slick and has almost metal gear solid-tier production values. The original voice cast, the cutscenes are all like from the show, the story's original. It's high effort.
I truly do miss Syphon Filter today. I've had a blast playing through all the PS1 and PSP games. I'd like to see that taser done with modern tech. Best taser ever. Freedom Fighters was great. I keep hoping for a sequel. Still waiting... I would definitely buy a remaster for Cold Fear, Psi Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy, and Ghost In The Shell. Cold Fear in particular deserves another chance, bad luck to come out after RE4. The Suffering 1&2 and Second Sight are good 3rd person action games too. Bloodrayne 1&2 as well.
The taser's actually back in dark mirror. I forgot to talk about it. It doesn't light guys on fire tho...so... Idk if you can say it's truly back. Anyway I'm actually in the middle of writing a syphon filter 2 retrospective. Anything special you want included or to make sure I don't miss? I already finished the game.
@Tunuh, Dark Mirror's Taser can light enemies on fire. If you release the fire button at the right moment, the enemy then runs around screaming before rag dolling. Syphon Filter 2 is probably my favorite in the franchise. The game is harder than the 1st as enemies can go for headshots on you too.

Okay I have seen that GitS SAC game mentioned in several such retrogaming videos. I need to get it at this point. Also, the Tachikomas sound absolutely adorable in that dub.
Still have my copy of the ghost in the shell game, and what a great hidden gem that game was. And have to agree with dark mirror, had its flaws, but a good syphon filter.

I never played a whole bunch of ghost in the shell stand alone complex. I think that belonged to my ex or I sold it to someone. It really reminded me of Oni by Bungie West. This was back when Halo was being devloped as a Mac OS 9 Game. Whats even stranger is that Rockstar Games published the PS2 version. A Playstation game by Bungie published by Rockstar isn't something that really makes sense these days. Wish Rockstar San Diego didn't shut or have the Oni 2 project shutdown.
@@PlayStation_Paradise PC and Mac version were much better graphically and control wise. It was shat out onto PS2 last minute so Rockstar could recoup money they spent on devlopment. Oni deserves a "Wuh happened?" Video by SSFF.

Yeah, Oni was a pretty blatant ghost in the shell copy. I want to return to it, but I remember thinking it was interesting and had terrible controls.

Wait, GitS definitely has a level where you play as a Tachikoma! It's one of the best ones in the game!
