    Superior formula 4 wax. Just spray that on the car before it starts to dry. This product is not a wax, its has a chemical that dissolves mineral and weakens the minerals. Its truly a life saver. I can keep my fast pace, specially when you need to move the car while washing, I just spray the Superior 4 and continue washing. I love it!!!!!

    • @rajvitela
      @rajvitela 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does it completely get rid of the minerals or weakens them so they are easily wiped away? Also how hard is the water you use in your area? Thanks

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes and yes, it's not technically a wax by some definitions, but it does also form a sort of hydrophobic barrier between the paint and water for a period of time. But yes to everything you said, great feedback and input

    • @Gnetbird
      @Gnetbird 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stephenc2527 yes, its streaky when you don't rinse it off. Its not a typical wax where you wipe it off and its because of the chemical that that fights minerals. Its sprayed on wet surface and then rinsed off. It works. I have minerals mixed with sea salt. Its a wonderful mess cooking on the paint. This is the trick lots of car washes use so any water that remains after being dried by air will not streak or spot. There are things like Last coat clear-sr or 3D water spot remover. Or and maybe Water spot remover from a hardware store that are a lot cheaper. ANY of this products have to be wash off completely or they will haze.

    • @Gnetbird
      @Gnetbird 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rajvitelawith formula 4, it prevents the water spot from forming because it dissolves the minerals. And if water spots are on the paint then it all depend on what happens with the water spot. First, is the paint protected, second, does it have tree sap or third, does it have salt or chemical fallout? A water spot will fight you and you might have to use a different chemicals. I can't never polish water spots out. Chemicals only.

    I ran gas stations that had car washes for years and I will tell you that if they say spot free rinse they better have a soft water system in place or they're false advertising. Not all of mine had it but the tons of salt I bought through the years I will tell you some do have soft water systems. The soft water spot free rinse is the only "clean" non recirculated water used in the wash most times. There were three sediment tanks that caught and filtered the water for the other cycles.
    I will also say that the local guy here who runs the diy car wash bay has a soft water system for his spot free rinse. I use it for a rinse every so often if I just have dust on one of my vehicles that doesn't need washing.

      If possible do a rinseless wash not a waterless wash it’s much safer. Just do it panel by panel and dry as you finish each panel. There’s a lot of good rinseless options but ONR is the OG and a good starting point.

    Ps.. Its a great idea to have products that have chemicals that have properties that remove calcium and on glass roof of cars you can use vinegar. Lets keep it simple. There is nothing to do with a smooth surface. Its about calcium.

      Yes and no. Sometimes the home remedies work, and other times they can put you in a position where you need an insurance claim (if you have business insurance). For those who are weekend warriors, this might be more feasible, but I wouldn't adopt it as a hard and fast rule

    Interesting discussion to say the least. I have owned 2 black and one white cars over the past 20 years and I have never washed any of them under the sun or when hot or EVEN warm to the touch. Parking the car on the side of the house as the sun starts moving to the other side depending on time and the period of the year. I always washed the car in sections as well until I started using a pressure washer and foam cannon (constantly turning on and off a gas pressure washer is not fun).
    Now, I foam the car and let it sit for few mins but nothing over 5mins, rinse and foam again and use only ONE bucket and soap with multiple washing mitts (one mitt for one section and then another for another section .......etc), no dunking in and out of water buckets or any of that nonsense making the wash go fast and 100% safe.
    I ALWAYS HATED drying the car with passion until i got a Metrovac and the rest was history, drying the car without ever touching it is a wonderful thing.
    Quick question, what nozzle angle are you using? looks like a 25 degree! too narrow?
    Quick tip to those who don't know, using distilled water in the foam cannon makes more foam. I also use distilled water to get rid of stuck-on debris like dead bugs, bee and bird shirt ........without leaving water spots behind, just make sure you're not rubbing the surface.

    Only thing with canopies is the slightest breeze starts flexing the joints on them. Even weighing them down properly isn’t enough. I own the exact canopy you recommend (in white) and anything above 7mph starts is a problem

    • @HEMi1995
      @HEMi1995 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wilsonautodetailing luckily the one listed comes with the velcro walls. To easily manipulate the shade. Unfortunately they can always be the cause of the canopy tipping or blowing since they block the wind’s path through the canopy. Weights at the base of each help but a strong enough breeze will still flex the horizontal poles along the top. Well worth it to keep in the mobile arsenal though

      I will say, those kind of hours when you are doing manual labor is difficult so I dont know how much I can say about that. That being said, something you may want to consider is a time frame. Meaning: Is there a period of time, say the next 5 months, where you can store up a certain level of cash in the bank that would justify going full time with your detailing business in say 6 months? And in the meantime you are taking small steps forward that will make the official launch of the business a little bit easier because there is a small amount of momentum.

      Consider what you eat/drink during the day. Some foods and drinks give you fast, but short energy, then you crash. Maybe you don't really notice the crash, but it can add up over the course of the day and week. I call them energy vampires. Proteins and fats deliver steadier, longer lasting energy; carbs/sugars burn like cocaine.
