    Update on the Spot free drying via air dry; no towels.. drove the car about six hours after this video and noticed several waterspots on the flat surfaces! You can get away with this on a light car but still water spots. Formulas 4 will help in spot free drying when using a towel in the direct sun and heat. I have had good success this way.

    If you use an RV water filter it usually eliminates the water spots, especially when using a PDMS chemical. Either way, the PDMS wash still requires removing the standing water to be completely spot free. It's biggest plus is greatly extending the time you have to wipe it down, usually about 15 minutes in bright sun.

      @K12dave, thanks for watching and for the feedback. On the topic of an RV water filter, I used to use them until I watched a video where they tested for TDS (I think is what its called) and the RV filter did Nothing for that. The water solids were unchanged. They will however help for taste etc. When drinking that water. Thanks again. Have a good one!

      Direw, Thanks so much. This spray wax works great! Also, a cheaper product and readily available at oreilly or auto zone stores is the wax n dry by Turtle wax.
      I do prefer this one though. Bought in a gallon it's a great Value👍 I have heard u can order this at auto parts stores in the gallon. Specifically Oreilly. U will not be displeased.

    I also reside in CA, so about how much more time did this product gave you to towel dry it? Sometimes I like to wash my cars in the worse time like noon 🕛. And it’s a hassle to avoid water spots.

      Hi Case. I dont use CSI when claying. Actually use Shine Mist by Shine supply or the new liquid clay by Meguiars.

    Rinse and no dry at all? Maybe on a white car haha, it’s certainly better than nothing. I put it in a pump sprayer for summer time, and rinse with DI water. I work on a lot of dark cars in So Cal. DI water is a luxury but a game changer.
    Edit: Scott from Dallas Paint Correction also recommends PDMT, a car tunnel drying aid far superior to what we can get

    I’m getting like marks on the glass that requires extra cleaning when using this, is it possible I did not dilute it enough? I’m not leaving it on too long maybe 15-20 seconds. In sunlight yes but rinse almost immediately. Ideas?

    • @detailit
      @detailit  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes I dilute it 10:1 then spray on and rinse immediately. I've heard of people mixing it stronger and not rinsing for quite awhile. Every vehicle can be different a td. Is the glass that's streaking in the sun, or shade side. Maybe you are spraying a tad too much.. a couple of factors to check. Also, I'd dry my glass first so the towel is in its best condition: clean & dry. Keep me posted as to what you figure out! Oh, one last little tip, rinse it upward, then downward as to spread it out with the sprayer stream and then to rinse it. Take 'R easy

    It may be in direct sunlight, but that car isn't hot, so you really never have to worry about water spots, especially on white paint, it'll never be seen. In the time it took you to explain your process, my truck would have already dried and gotten it's water spots. You don't need all these chemicals if you don't have a hot car from the sunlight.

    I use this, and also experimented with it. I tried what u just did. Wash, spray, let dry. I have deep crystal blue. Didn't work out well. I tried, was, spray with wax, blow water off car. That didn't work well either.
    Lastly, I tried wash, spray, damp towel dry. None or not much at all with spotting. It gave me enough time in the HOTTTT Houston sun to dry car. When I was experimenting with the Towel/wax, I tried different amounts of wax to spray. I noticed a light mist from a sprayer was more than sufficient. I got a gallon at O'Reilly's for $25. I tried buying multiple products on their website but their shipping fees are astronomical no matter how much u buy. For $25, and the amount of time I have to work with it, and the results are probably the best I can find. I bought the gallon about 3 months ago and still have about half left.

      Hey thank You for taking the ime to share all that good info. I think there are many ways to help in the sun and this one is the easiest, most economical one to use. This past weekend I used a wash n wax soap with 2oz. Of Formula 4 spray wax in a foam cannon. Applied it all together and honestly it seems to work pretty good. It was the afternoon sun about 100° and I didnt see any water spots... pretty cool. Hey Thanks again and Take Care!👍🇺🇸

    I used this product on multiple cars, I tried 5:1 4:1 3:1 2:1 1:1 full strength, I tried it after wash, then formula 4, then rinse, I tried after rinse, wash , rinse, formula 4, rinse ... And I still get this white milky residue no matter what... What am I doing wrong 🤷🏾

    • @detailit
      @detailit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say over application or not rinsing thoroughly enough.. I had over used a spray and rinse product and it would leave smear prints if you rubbed the dry surface.
