Love the AB Gold mount adapter gizmo, what vendor for AB/V-mount adapter ? Why 5" smart display cable, I thought 5" LCD electrodes were on body top area ? I'm interested non Chinese 5k Red, so searching Ebay. Suggestion: Lose the annoying background music.
hey Patrick, thanks for the tip I'll keep that in mind next time...the AB gold mount adapter came with the kit and it was sold with the Red on ebay by a company in Lakeworth FL called "35MMSPACE Inc."....they're pretty much the only or top seller of Red cameras on ebay, super helpful and super knowledgable....Red pro 5.0 display also came standard with the camera, but it connects through an external LCD cable which is standard on all Red Epic dragons...the heliums and weapons are the ones that normally connect wirelessly on top, but those will run you 25k or more just for the brain
Thanks for the video. I've just bought a pre-owned Red Epic Dragon DSMC1 too. And have a question for you. do you always do the Black Shading calibration before every shoot, or do you have like your calibrations saved like a profile for the settings you'll use?
I don't do a lot of that before the shoot because I mainly grade everything in Red gamma or Redlog, I'll check my dark and light values on set but I don't put too much pressure on dialing anything in
I remember, got to switch those lenses fast! Just curious, what camera did you make this video with?
Thanks for the video! How is the fan noise on this camera from your experience? Is it loud for interviews etc? Thanks
Red cameras take a lot of flack for the fan...on set I get comments about the fan, people calling it the "hair dryer"...the fan runs heavy for the first 10 seconds of turning on then you can't hear it over the sound of a person talking softly...if you run a Rodemic on a red, the fan won't even pick up on audio

@@YTMrB Yea people love to exaggerate, im gonna do a series of videos on the Red pic soon since they're becoming more affordable on the secondary market and I'll do a fan test to prove how unnoticeable it is

Hello, I own an epic x and my sdi/HDMI ports are not connecting. Red says they don't offer services on my camera anymore, can anyone recommend a site or forum where I can find the parts. Cheers.

I think you would have been better off getting a blackmagic or a canon cinema camera. Using Red means you need the best tripod, gimbal, and rigs to get that thing off the ground and that camera might slow you down if you dont have a sturdy tripod, Movi Pro/Ronin 2, Danan Dolly, and cinema lenses
I've been going handheld, monopod, tripod, and Glidecam with the Red for over a year so far no problems
doesn't record prores right?
It does not record ProRes but the compression values are unbelievable if you're shooting lower frame rates to manage disk space, you can shoot the equivalent of 16 bit internally and export your shots at ProRes later on
that model you can find used from $7,000-$12,000 and thats the full kit ready to shoot lol

@@goldecinematics the point is that someone like me who is trying to find a right price point for this specific camera to trade for services rendered will be informed incorrectly. i am literally trying to find out if this camera will be a good deal for some inspire 2 footage i will be giving to a producer in exchange for this body etc.
