Ok I used to know a guy the owned two of those boats in SF. He ran a charter business from Pier 39. One day Playboy Magazine wanted to do a photo shoot on the bay and chartered a boat with him s skipper. Long story short, he ended up marrying one of the girls, sold the charter business and I believe is still hanging out in the South Pacific with his beautiful wife. Or at least I hope so!
Extremely passionate about his work and ideas, I believe this boat would be a safe, stable and reliable vessel. All the hard work has been done, just a little cosmetic, good scrubbing and ur off into the blue. Siren this boat would suit u perfectly. Hope it sells quickly so she can get back into the Seas she was meant for. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed his explanations, very clever man. 🇦🇺🤘
Thanks!! Yeah it really is a great boat. It’s out of my price range, …hahaha I don’t have a price range anymore, actually!!! I’d have to sell mine to upgrade and that’s not going to get me far. Yes, he’s very passionate about the work he’s done here and this boat will make someone really happy.
Great video. I like this fellow , he is wellversed , knowledgeable, and most of all honest. Calls it as it is. Nice boat with great bones for world travel at sea. Hey Siren. Be a good vessel for you. Tksfor tour, say high to your guest for me.
What an incredible amount of work he has put into that. After all that effort, I would think it would be rather hard to part with it. Like me, he had lots of plans for things and for me, I am constantly repeating the old saying, "Man plans and God laughs."
It is a good thing this guy is selling because he was never going to get off the hard. The boat is beautiful… rough but beautiful. If I had the $$ I would buy her and finish what I needed to get her in the water and do other stuff on the way. If anything’s gonna happen it will happen out there, no matter how much you plan. 😊😊😊😊😊 His friend agreed to selling because he will never be done
It’s one of those things where once you start, it’s like, “May as well do that…. May as well do that too…. May as well do this….” Next thing you know you’ve rebuilt the boat! Hahaha At least it was all great stuff. But yeah, health issues and family circumstances have them unable to make the trip.
Welcome back live,, :) The guy certainly made the electrical organized and pretty, with even numbered and a guide. He should hang out at the marina doing electrical. Now your job is to sell it , and talk him into doing your electrical. 😊
Wow, long video, but i guess that makes up for the short one's for the last couple of weeks. Looks like a well thought out boat. Keep the good stuff coming Siren,
Hi Siren, thank you for the tour I find it very interesting. It’s a bit of a shame it’s all the way over in America but someone will snap it up. What a wonderful yacht. Thank you once again you’re looking fantastic. Keep up the good work , give Garrett a big cuddle for me Cliff from Australia
Another great video from you Miss Siren. For what it is worth I am so pleased you still haven't cut all that lovely red hair. I do enjoy your videos so please keep them coming. From Down Under.
Thank you, hahaha I probably won’t ever cut it. Do you know that Paul Mitchell (hair care brand) actually offered me a modeling deal for $2500 and they wanted to fly me to LA for photo shoots where I’d be the face seen in all their salons on the walls and such and they wanted to cut it into a bob and dye it teal blue/green. lol I told them I couldn’t do it. Would have been the pinnacle of my modeling career and I was like, no way.
Love you showing boats! When I am ready for mine will reach out 😊 would have liked to see you talk more than him though as you are more pleasing to the eye 😂
Thanks Jim! Yeaaaaaah There’s no way I could have remembered or explained all of that. Hahaha I could have given a good run-down, but this man has all the fine details.
It should be,noted this, was ,an,american, built boat. Its not a Asian/Tiwianese built boat. Rick clearly had some background in electrical , aircraft? He really did a,good job with the, systems. Having the systems, sorted is such ,major issue with old boats. The engine is the right Perkins . the 4-236 was, one,of the, best old, school engines. I think I might repaint the hull white!. Some sort of air con is,probably needed for when sitting at a dock though!. The value added that the seller will be never get out is going to be a huge bonus for the new owner. Defiantly need to check out the listing for more, information ( and before commenting) Cheers warren
So very, very sad that his (their) cruising dream ended in the boatyard. Perhaps, a bittersweet lesson to be learned by all in that. Agent J, may all the very best of life be yours. Back to life's 16 - S/V Mistral in San Deigo. Kevin
Hahah Yeaaah it’s a bit far from Ireland, I’m afraid. You should look at those river boats over there! The longboats. There are a lot around London. Those are so neat! Thanks you so much for the support this week. I’ll give an update soon. Things are happening a little faster around here now. It’ll all come to light in the next couple of weeks now.
I am doing a similar thing to a 1968 Islander. All that stock wiring is pretty ugly, and modern tinned wire is a huge upgrade. I left mine at 12 vdc, just because i wasn't running a lot of high draw equipment. I am not putting a 5500 Watt bow thruster on my boat like this guy! That is huge...
Waaaay too much information about what was important to him. Electrical and mechanical stuff. Very little about the rest of the boat.. Nothing about the sail inventory, condition, rigging, chain plates, bulkheads..
The best thing about this video is if you plan to buy it you can tell the guy “it’s okay man you don’t have to tell me all this stuff because I already have the video of. Thanks 😊”
The point of the video was to outline the work that HE did, it wasn’t a video to talk about the listing in general. There is a link to the listing in the description.
I don’t understand you I think that is fantastic explaining everything the way he has rewired the boat/yacht. If you don’t like the video all you have to do is turn it off simple , I don’t understand people making stupid bloody comments
The Length you will go for your clients is admirable. The hit you gave your fledging youtube channel is pitiful I hope to see those Blue Eyes next week !!!
But why would you? What do you consider an advantage to having a newer boat? Most newer boats were built with less fiberglass, and weren’t built to the standard the old boats were. I’d MUCH rather have an old boat than anything built in the last 25 years, which is why I own a really solid 1976. I’d only buy a newer boat for a warranty because even new boats come with a ton of issues.
@@TheSirensLog I agree but it always seems like when you see an older boat for sale it needs new standing rigging. The cost of that is substantial especially with a Ketch rig. This boat looks really sound electrically which is extremely important but there's so many other things to consider in an older boat too, like leaky hatches, windows, 40 yr old motor,Steering cable condition, etc. You'd definitely would want a good survey. Nice looking boat for sure.
@@fish1860 listing at this price gives us room. No one pays the starting price on a newly listed boat, unless it’s just some phenomenal deal. This boat has a LOT going for it, and it’s ready to go, but offers typically come in at around 15% less, plus a little wiggle room. It’s standard procedure.
Moving right along!

What an incredible amount of work he has put into that. After all that effort, I would think it would be rather hard to part with it. Like me, he had lots of plans for things and for me, I am constantly repeating the old saying, "Man plans and God laughs."
Hahah It’s true.
Yes, it’s definitely difficult for these guys parting with what has been such a huge part of their lives these last two years.

nice looking boat, good sales video , should greatly help in the sale, a wiring list !!! THAT worth money :)

Thanks! Yeah, Sorry videos have been slow lately. There’s a lot happening over here that I can’t share.
@@TheSirensLog No problem on the short videos, the one last week was kind of cool.
How are the sails and standing rigging? Electrical looks bulletproof. It’s a shame he had a heart attack…..seems like an electrical guru.
All of that is ready to go and in great shape! There’s a link in the description to the full listing on YachtWorld too.

Lovely boat, and around the size for a decent "floating condo". Unfortunately, it is 4976 nm from Dublin. Great episode, lass.☘️😎

Thanks, it’s just how I do business. And the channel is still here, doing just fine.
All this time I thought her eyes were green
Maybe I need new glasses.
Would like more information on the boat where do I find it ??
Hi Dave! Look down in the description of the video and there’s a link to the listing on yavhtworld.
Even with all this work, it's still an old sailboat. For this money, i can buy a much younger one (less than 15 years) in this size range.
...being an industrial electrician what he did is what matters ...not pretty brightwork

Too much geeking on electron hoses! Sell the sizzle not the steak
I do think the electrical system is a big deal! The video was simply to showcase the work that he’s done.
