confuse because every time i try to repair the files it just sits in the command prompt this is very aggravating i only want to play one game and it wont get fixed i have tried everything in this video

Thank you, 2023 and it still works in the last step. If anyone can't find the setting in view, it is actually in the Steam logo now. Repair library is in Setting -> Storage then the "..." button near your C:\STEAM or whatever your ssd is.

Absolutely nothing worked in my case for Red Dead Redemption 2. I gave up on it for a few weeks. I tried all those methods, even one you didn't mention, which was changing my download region. The only thing that eventually worked a little while ago tonight was running Steam as administrator, which is super weird because I'm able to download and update every single other game that I currently have. The RDR2 situation just randomly started 2 months ago for some weird reason. I saw there were 2 RDR2 online mode updates. It just wouldn't work after those came out.

Thank you very much, the running as administrator saved me the time of downloading an entire 1TB of SSD and solved the problem of missing file permission. This was odd to sense I have two other SSDs on steam that wasn't havening this problem.
Was about to skip video but gave chance for last tip and that seems to be working now.
None of these have worked for me. The more obscure one you mentioned is also completely unavailable to me, as the “Steam library folder” tab you mention is no longer present, at least not where you point it out to be.

What if you screwed up as hard as I did and somehow (not deleting everything) deletet everything? I mean, I can't even click the check game files button since it doesn't do ANYTHING, but I still have like nospace left on my pc to reinstall them, since they are still installed
Let me start this by saying FINALLY! TY soooo much! I tried all the previous steps. I tried things in Wallpaper Engines help page. And NOTHING worked. I kept getting this error....I could DL other games in steam. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall Wallpaper Engine and I still got error. I tried running in Admin before, but steam wouldn't load. I closed it down completely (or so I thought but exiting and killing it on the taskbar) but after watching you vid I killed it in the task manager and bingo bongo, I loaded in as Admin and was able to re DL Wallpaper Engine. It was super frustrating I couldn't DL new wallpapers. Thanks again!
I have no idea why duplicate tutorials like this exist. They provide literally no differing information from what Steam provides.

@@jpnoble8043 you right. I ended up fixing this for pretty much anything by running as admin. It's annoying and don't know why, but at least it works :)
So, the method "Validate integrity of game files" is bugged for me. It's always at 0% no matter how much I wait.

i have to redownload sotf every time there is a major/minor update/bug fix. when i update it, the update says for example, 9MB of 9MB, it then says 'update paused' and when i click resume, it does nothing. i tried all of the steps in this video, none helped. please help

I've been having a problem where it says to verify the integrity of game files when i load into the game. So I go back and select the stop so steam shuts it down and I do so by navigating to the local files. Once I wait it out it says everyrhing is fine and prompts me to close. So I close, and boot up destiny again. When I load back in it tells me the exact same thing, saying to verify the integrity of game files. I have hard wiped my pc and deleted/ Uninstalled both destiny 2 alone and steam as a whole. Even so, I am still getting this same thing where it tells me to verify the game files. It is like a huge loop. Someone plz help.

Before trying any of this if you are the kind of people that leaves your PC ON for weeks on(like me), try restarting your pc, in my case tried all this and nothing worked, I also deleted some games to check if it was my SDD, and just a restart made it back to normal again, I'm now downloading them again....
Battlenet and steam, no fixes working. I've put HOURS into this over several days, nothing works.

I received a gift some time ago, and then when i were rescuing the present, it appear a pop up lamenting the error that ocurred and saying that i have insufficient privilege
First I had disk write error. Then it turned into file privileges error and I still cant fix it :(

I had a problem with installing Dead Island 2 and running steam as administrator fixed it :)
so what happens if none of these work and all of the games on that specific drive still say the same thing.
I tried all of the fixes but nothing worked. The error comes only if i try to install Starbase :(

putting the most common steps first, then the steps that rarely work after would be better, still was fixed with the last tip so thanks keep it up

please help i want to play HOI4 (hearts of iron IV) but it alwasy sayes: Acces error to game data. and i dont know how to fix it, and none of these worked :(
I'm not too sure, but i think changing the region from Europe to USA fixed it for me. I'm not sure because i also tried 10 other fixes at once, some of which are not in this video.
Whenever i try to verify files intrgrety it says that close all apps and not goes any further even when i have not opened any apps plz help
Nothing works at all, I’ve watched or 20+ videos on this matter, however this error still persists i will manage to get it to work using these methods maybe once a day but then will return to its useless state where it will give me the missing file privileges error when I attempt to downloaded any game, all these guides on how to fix the matter are absolute useless to me.

Even I can't install the game so no files to verify and I tried several methods.
The only way working is to change the download location to C drive but this not a big capacity.

None of these worked for me, I deleted the .exe file and then checked the file integrity and it worked that way.
of course these dont work for me because i cant ever enjoy shit

Or try stopping antivirus, it made me reinstall the 50gb game and i found out it blocked the .exe file
I made sure to toggle steam to run in admin and that fixed it!

Nothing worked
All i did for my game thats having this error is heading to steamapps/common and then unninstalling the game's folder and then restarted my pc and then it let me install the game!

None of these worked for me. My solution was that there was a copy of steam/ steamapps & steamui on a different drive (F:) but all my games were on my (D:) so make sure you dont have duplicate steam software on multiple drivers.
