I recently got the Summer Fridays Butter Balm everyone was obsessed with and Im actually so in love with it. It smells amazing and actually hydrates my lips without leaving them dry. It's expensive but I don't think I could go without it now. Plus its cruelty free and vegan :)
My lips looked like the pictures in your video. I went to different doctors - private and public funded. No one - and i do mean no one - diagnosed it at all. I am not a lip licker - but i use so much lip balm because of the skin.
At the moment i use Aveeno Dermexa around to lip area and the lips. Got a couple of trial products (Fantastic size for pockets). I soothes my skin and doesn't feel greasy.
Thank you for not making me feel alone with this issue. And thanks to Aya from your team for replying my emails to you regarding eczema in the face and what products to use - mainly the Ordinary products since Denmark is such a small country.
You can also use Weleda (pronounced wuh-LEE-duh) in a thick layer to baste your lips. At first it looks white but after a few minutes it partly sinks in and makes your lips look super juicy for hours! Some people don't like the smell but I actually like the smell. It also has beeswax so it might not be for you if you're vegan. I got this lip baste trick from Dr. Shereene Idriss. I don't use every day, just a couple times a week.

Y’all the biossance squalane rose is sooooo good! I bought it because of this video and am so glad I did. I have chronically chapped lips and nothing I had tried before helped. I was noticing a huge difference even after the first two uses. Thank you Cassandra!!
I also bought it too! But oddly I don’t know….after the biossance dries out my lips are extra than it was before? Maybe I’m applying it in the wrong time?
@chinchillin If u live in a dry place make sure there is a bit of water on the lips before using that item because that lip balm has humectants. You can use it right before bedtime and use a humidifier in your bedroom

I put some hyaluronic acid serum (Vichy Mineral 89) on my lips then an occlusive balm, usually petrolatum-based, at night. I have some SPF balm for daytime. It works really well.

So strange, vaseline is more "addicting" than any other lip balm I use. As soon as that sticky feeling fades away I feel like applying more. It could be that it triggers my hyper awareness of a specific body part, but for anyone else feeling this, you're not alone!
Lol it’s same for me ,I mean it’s not really like lip balms which irritate and dry your lips further more , still as soon as the waxy feeling goes away ,I feel like putting more ,but my lips aren’t chapped tho like before
Nope! I literally break out, get dry red and patchy, and it feels so gross when I use petroleum. I've tried Vaseline, CeraVe, and aquaphor and all of them suck for me. Even dried out my cuticles, but it's pretty decent for my finger eczema. I stopped using it so I wouldn't get it on my face cuz ouch

I don't have much problems in my lips but I am here watching your channel because I care about my lips and your channel provides me with the thorough information that I need with really nice products but I still I want more (like smell and taste maybe but not necessarily) and still learning a lot from your content. There is this brand, named Liposan, which has many different hydrating lip products, from lipsticks without any colour or with colour, to lip glosses and they're all amazing! Also, they're so cheap! I get them for 1 euro, which is such a good price! I think you should give it a try sometime, thanks for reading my recommendation, I hope you love these products!
As someone who has horrendously dry lips in the summer, i ran to purchase that biosossance lip balm. My lips don't respond to much usually, but this stuff is IN.cRredible. My lips were dry this morning and they're now buttery smooth! Thank you!

I have the absolute driest lips on the planet, I’m always licking and biting and peeling them so they tend for bleed and crack 😭 I’ve tried everything, I’ve spent HUNDREDS on lip balms, masks and treatments and there is nothing that compares to the versed lip oil it’s honestly amazing. It’s thick enough to soothe and protect the lips but it’s not too heavy and sticky. I was always one to have to reapply lip balms 20 times a day to stop them from getting chapped but I promise you I put it on in the morning and I don’t have to re apply it until I’ve washed my face before bed. The most incredible lip balm out there 🙌🏼

My favourite lip balm that I’ve been using for 2 years now is the moody bee unscented. Its cheap doesn’t have a scent it stays on for so long especially the cold months in Canada.

I can't even use stevia in my tea or anything. :(

Oh my goodness, thanks for mentioning the Glossier lip gloss! It's unscented and unflavored, so I could actually use it. The Ultralip product is also unscented and unflavored. Unfortunately, the Generation G lipstick is flavored.
I'm very picky about buying unscented and unflavored lip products because many years ago, I bought a heavily scented drugstore lipstick that caused my lips to peel. It took at least 2 weeks to get them back to normal.
I love that you throw the ingredients list up to see. I'm always scanning for soy as I'm allergic. Nice not to have to go looking on my own to see if it's lurking in any of these. (Ah! It was!)

Dermal Therapy original lip balm SAVED my cracked and chafed lips. Highly recommend.
I’ve always been a “lip licker” & use balms constantly. Cheap, pricier whatever I could afford. It IS a hard habit to try & break. I’ve found CO Bigelow (My Favourite Night Balm) to be the best affordable product to smooth out lip skin & hydrate with just a hint of flavour to it. And not just a night time balm but 24 hr balm. $7.50US. Hard to find in 🇨🇦tho. When I do, I buy several at a time depending on finances. I also find some balms are great as cuticle skin healers as well. Nasty habit of chewing cuticles, NO nail biting tho. Your vid’s are amazing, funny & highly informative. I’m learning a lot. Keep up the good work! 😁

Beauty pie has a really good nourishing lip balm with SPF30 (sun protection, yes please 🥰) it is called “super healthy skin” I love the texture and how it applies, feels and looks on the lips.

I love sqaulane lip products I've tried Kiehls lip balm $10 and i just ordered Naturiums lip gloss on cyber monday $8 they come on clear and different shades. I'll definitely try biossance one day guess I'm cheap but now I think about it an extra $4 for possibly better Formulated sqaulane is worth it .
Update: I got naturiums in the mail but it felt like lip gloss. A nice not tacky lip gloss i like more balm or petroleum feel. Not really a fan will continue to use to see if it improves texture and moisture.
Please do a video about lip allergens. I have tried super expensive to super cheap lip balms and my lips constantly peel . No matter what I use. However I bought Kiss Freely allergen free lip balm on Amazon and it is great except no spf. It’s thicker than it looks. Please review that line they have lipsticks as well.
Agreed, I'm allergic to fish/seafood/sesame/nuts, so every single suggestion in this video was useless to me, lol (sharks are included in the fish/seafood category for complex allergen reasons, and I could POTENTIALLY use squalane or squalene without going into anaphylactic shock ... But i'm never going to risk that just for a lip balm, lmao)

I actually started using Surfer's Salve on my lips, and on my son's lips as he's a lip licker and we live in a place that's terribly cold and dry for half the year. It does have lavender and tea tree essential oils so it may not be great for someone who has an allergy or sensitivity to EOs, but the plantain leaf in it is SO SOOTHING for raw lips and the surrounding area. It really does heal your lips instead of trapping you in that cycle of irritation and application. Like Frank's Red Hot, I put that sh*t on EVERYTHING lol.
I hope she has some options of lip products that won’t cause breakouts that will still be hydrating or moisturizing enough for the lips. I am so prone to pimples around the mouth😢

I looove the laneige lip sleeping mask! My whole life I have never been able to wear lipstick because of my awful dry lips, with this stuff my lips are soooo soft and can actually handle a lip colour now without going yuk! Lol, that is actually my hero product ;)

I have bad chronic dry chapped/cracked lips (lifelong struggle), the only thing that has made a dent is the Laroche Posay Cicaplast, but it is not your typical lip balm per say, it’s more like great ingrediants aka a mosturizer for the lips. I am looking for a gloss/balm that can also act as something nourishing and good for my lips to use as a moisture rich lip topper/gloss so I am going to look more into your recomendations.

I use 2-3 layers of a good moisturiser (preferable CeraMedx - Restoring Body Lotion or Ultra Moisturizing Cream, but I sometimes even use my foot cream (yeah!) ) and a layer of vegan vaseline before bedtime (and a shitload of SPF50 as long as it's light outside) -> gode from bleeding lips to flawless lips.
I love biossance. Fun fact their parent founding company helped Amaryis helped with the covid vaccine too. Biossance is probably the most science backed line I've tried in my esthetics career.
Topicrem lip balm is amazing. I can't remember the product I used but it gave my lips this tiny rashes. Idk what it's called. My lips reacted soo baddd for days. Then I remembered I had Topicrem lip balm somewhere. Used it and in minutes, the rashes decreased drastically and was gone before 24hours. Absolutely moisturizing. Although, you might need to keep reapplying at intervals.
I feel like some people are stuck in that cycle because they are allergic to some of the ingredients on their lip balm, and while their lips may feel better after applying the balm, they're actually making things worse. I heard some people are allergic to lanolin.
Also a lot of lip products have fragrance which is irritating too. So is menthol, peppermint, etc...
I've had eczema on the borders of my lips for years, I've tried everything. I wrote off petrolatum a few years back, noticing that it wasn't working for me; I wasn't using it correctly though. Petrolatum does NOT give my lips hydration, I have to hydrate with something else first. The petrolatum is amazing for sealing the hydration and moisture into my lips, but using it alone won't work. This is why I go for products with hydrating and nourishing ingredients, that also include petrolatum. Torriden Lip Essence is my holy grail because of this. I use it during the day (fyi I don't get addicted to reapplying, after it wears off my lips feel properly hydrated and normal). As a night product, I use Cosrx Propolis Lip Sleeping mask; it's not vegan because of the propolis (honey) I know sorry, but oh my gosh it's the best thing I've ever used. It's around 20$ CAD but it lasts a long time and worth it (the packaging is also aesthetically pleasing if you're into that). With those two products, I don't even get flare-ups anymore. I sometimes put the Aveeno Calm & Restore skin therapy balm or the CeraVe Healing Ointment (baby version or normal version) on my lips and let that sink in before sealing with a petrolatum product. Anything with oat is fantastic too, instantly calms down flare-ups. I hope this helps someone out there who struggles with this, it took me years to get a handle on it and if you're reading this and you struggle with lip dermatitis too, you're not alone and give these things a try.
Edit: I wanted to mention, now that I've healed my dermatitis, I can wear makeup (lip colours) on my lips like a normal person! As long as my lips are hydrated and I don't have a flare up (which is very rare nowadays), I like to wear mostly kbeauty lip colours because even though they contain colour and fragrance, they're just hydrating and gentle on my skin. Kbeauty all the way!

Y’all the beauty community is totally sleeping on the Lip Cushion lip balm from Catrice. I use it as a lip mask overnight and it makes my lips feel sooo soft in the morning. It contains plant oils and vitamin E, though the oily texture might not be everyone’s favorite. Still, it’s dirt cheap (4€) compared to some of the products listed here.
Honey, only one product listed here isn’t cheap. And does this one break the cycle or does it keep you using the product? That is the difference. Catrice isn’t known for their natural products either.

Very very dry gal here!! Lanolin was a game changer for me. If you don't have a lanolin sensitivity, I highly rec trying this ingredient as part of dry skincare!
Which one to go for between versed and torriden?
My lips have always been chapped n flaky n bloody.... Its been a problem always for me....
Years later I suffered with B12 deficiency and my lips started to be normal.... Now I know that whenever my lips are getting worse it's time to get some B12....

The way i'm fixing my problem with cracked lips is usin coffee as a scrub one's a week (or when i feel i need to do it) and applying the la roche posay cicaplast levres barrier repairing balm every night before sleep. It is working great for me.

I use the Tree Hut Sugar Lip Butter and it’s my all time favorite after going thru so many other lip products

The best product I’ve ever tried is the MAC lipscrub. It’s so freaking hydrating and takes off dead skin.

I actually didn't like the Pacifica lip mask. Idk if I got one that had been on the shelf for a while, but when I tried to use it, I could barely get any product on my finger it was so hard and then still ended up with peeling anyway. With the Laneige sleep mask, not only does it moisturize my lips, but I even feel like usually I don't need to use lip balm during the day at all and have no peeling. But I am trying to find a cruelty free dupe and a glossy like balm for during the day, for some pizzazz.

I have always since I could remember had dry peeling lips(actually just my bottom lip, top lip is normal), doesn't matter the elements my lips are exposed to, it's just how it is. It's seems to be a very rare thing since I can't find anything on the internet on it. Does anyone have this issue?

yeah me too, I am tired of applying vaseline on lips. Castor oil helps, but its not portable. I am going to try Laneige or Innisfree green tea lip mask
I bought two of the torriden solidin ceramide lip essence and i do like it but for the price i say get good old Vaseline or cerave healing ointment or one of the other in this video. My lips stay dry and cracked with the lip essence and i hoped it would be good with the ceramides and such but not for me.

honestly, what made me stop licking my lips WAS wearing a balm/chapstick since the waxy texture left a weird flavour in the back of my mouth I instinctively stopped altogether. Mind you this was when i was little so maybe i could form/change habits quite easily

if you didn't enjoy Vaseline in your face careful with Vaseline on your lips. made that mistake twice to wake up with overly inflamed lips that took a week to go away. strangly my lips are good on their like 99% of the time

I was on acutane for 8 months. Dermatologist always told me to use petroleum jelly on my lips.

My favorite lip balms are formulas from Humblebee & Me - sticky lip balm and maple syrup lip balm. The sticky lip balm is 50% beeswax (candelilla wax would be the closest vegan substitute), and it stays put! The maple syrup one has lecithin, so it's hydrating. I personally like to use local honey instead of maple syrup. Honey is science-backed for wound care, and I and my friends/family find that the honey balm helps heal painful cracks from severe chapping.

I'm not a lip licker, I'm a lip rubber - I rub my lips constantly so I need a little slip to the lip to avoid overly aggravated them..
I got the Pacifica's Lavender Moon Bedtime Butter, not a dupe for Laneige IMO, at best is MEH, read the reviews for it @ Target before buying.
Could I use the Versed for hydrating and put Vaseline over top to lock it in, or is the Versed occlusive on its own?
