      I turn 54 in a few weeks. Don't listen to society or marketing -- you can be beautiful as you grow older. Absolutely. I don't do cosmetic procedures but I don't need to, either, and people are surprised when I mention my age. I take care of my skin and my gut health and I do facial massages, including with gua sha tools. Really -- accentuate your positive and embrace your cosmetic weaknesses. It's really about your individuality and respecting this. Don't get depressed at the lovely women on tik tok - many of them you would find their character and personalities ruin whatever outward beauty they possess. There are some things beauty can't fix or camoflage for long. I look forward to life -- I don't need nor do I want to be 20 again. Don't settle for looking back -- look ahead because it really does getter better with age.

      These ingredients Cass recommended are all fantastic, but I also wanted to add that chemical peels, lasers, and microneedling done in a licensed aesthetic clinic or derm's office can be a HUGE help with reversing sun damage. I had horrible acne scars, and chemical peels and microneedling helped a ton. But they also made me look younger and helped with aging.

The DNA repair enzymes are really what sets this formula apart tho. I’d encourage everyone to try this. I just got my second bottle and I’m SO happy i added this to my routine! we don't have much evidence yet for anti ageing effects of adapalene. We do however have decades of hard science for the efficacy of tretinoin. It's the gold standard. Adapalene was made to treat acne and targets specific receptors.

    • @KG9551
      @KG9551 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SueRosalie there have been several studies that show adapalene is also effective for treating signs of aging and wrinkles and reversing sun damage. There have also been studies of comparing the two ingredients that showed that they had similar affects on treating the signs of aging. Tretinoin has more studies (most likely because it’s prescription-only), but there is still science behind adapelene. And my own experience has shown me that the ingredient is effective.

    I have a question regarding cell regulators. We're talking about vitamin A, of course. In that sense, does oral isotretinoin have the same impact/effect as topical tretinoin? Of course, with oral isotretinoin, there are systemic effects and also adverse effects, so the risk/benefit ratio may not favor using oral isotretinoin over topical tretinoin, at least in the particular case of your video. I'm asking more as an academic question.

    I started using niacinamide for my pores and some sun damage and my wrinkles have been diminishing! I’m definitely looking into retinol now I just don’t know what to use here in the U.K.

      Inkey list products are effective and affordable. I've been using their retinol for a while now.

    Ok, but how does this all translate to people liek you and me who have collagen synthesis irregularities from connective tissue disorders. Where our collagen is plenty, and have excessive laxity naturally, because of fibroblast related issues in collagen production?

    I saw that titanium dioxide is one of the ingredients for protecting us from UV rays, but I recently searched it on the net and it said it is harmful. Is it really safe to use products containing titanium dioxide?

    Cassandra, would you be able to do a video on copper peptides? Many claim it does the same thing as Vitamin C. Are copper peptides actually comparable to Vitamin C? And I in part ask because I adore the ordinary buffet w/copper peptides serum and I use it in place of Vitamin C right now. We love you so much Cassandra, thank you! :)

      There has not been research on it for anti-aging so most derms will tell you that we do not know, we can only guess.

    Being an old gal with eczema prone skin, it's super hard, and frustrating when I need all the help I can get, yet retinols cannot do, Vit C, and others, as well as so many products have alcohol, fragrance etc. Bummer.

    • @SueRosalie
      @SueRosalie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      get your dermatologist to prescribe a compounded cream with tretinoin plus whatever you need to treat the eczema. Don't worry, vitamin c creams don't work anyway.

    What!??? You are not 30 yet!??? I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! Because you speak and look so mature, and put together, and honestly most of the time are not bitching about your surroundings like most Gen Z do. What a refreshing piece of information! Some Gen Z are actually admirable 🎉

    Can u talk about benzen in sunscreens in the next video? I heard that It is not usually listed on the product and is often hidden under the "perfume" folder. Alternatively, you can find it under the names benzene, ethylbenzene, methylbenzene.

    • @morgianasartre6709
      @morgianasartre6709 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's not listed because it is not an ingredient and is not supposed to be there in any form, it was a contamination that affected specific batches of certain sunscreens, mostly spray ones. Lab Muffin Beauty science and Dr Dray both have great videos on this issue.
