  • First Ride Impressions of the 2021 BMW S1000R Superbike. Wow what a machine!! Completely different to the s1000r in terms of character and feel in a good way. Absolutely a motorcycle I want to own in my future.

Nice review, and beautiful bike, but your fuel consumption must be horrific stuck in 2nd!

Love this bike. If they made a 600cc equivalent I would be all over it.

I replaced the M-seat with the standard seat as its lightly lower and a lot more comfortable. The negative is slow manoeuvring around driveways etc, a bit buzzy above 8000rpm, but that's also fun.

Hi Mihai! I've done a first ride impressions of the 2017+ generation gsxr here: th-cam.com/video/kJmqX8_GnBk/w-d-xo.html

@@SimonTheSquid so which is better? For you? Comfort wise.

@@WillieWheels I think the BMW has it in terms of comfort just slightly. They are both comfortable ergo wise. The bmw has those extra creature comforts like cruise control and heated grips etc that make it that little bit nicer. However the bmw costs a heck of a lot more too and the riding experience on the gsxr is more raw and fun IMO.

    Ok, my personal opinion...
These bikes are pointless for the road and a dying breed, unless you have low self esteem and/or a small penis.
Great bike for the TT or track, probably the best. As someone pointed out mike748golfsmith and yourself, 6 speed gearbox is a waste. Look great and sound great. Looks a plenty at box hill etc.....
I'm going to touch on this controversial subject, big or small, in a future vlogg...stir up the poser boys!!!
Nice review all the same Simon and well done

Thanks Dave. I know what you mean and you're right that these bikes are absolutely too much for the road. Too much for certain tracks even! But all that said motorcycling for me at least has always been an emotional, visceral, enjoyment thing which many times has nothing to do with what makes sense. It's absolutely stupid that you can do illegal speeds in first gear in 3.5 seconds..... And yet it makes me excited knowing that the bike is capable of so much more than I'll ever be able to master. It's a fear/adrenaline hit and yes while that is probably immature and stupid, life's too short to not follow the things that bring joy even if they are silly. What this all really boils down to is every motorcyclist needs three bikes. A sensible one, a stupid one, and one for the dirt. Sorted! ;).... Well and maybe a fully clapped out track bike.... And a.... And a... Etc etc. 😂

      @@SimonTheSquid 🤣🤣🤣 3 bikes etc,etc.
Can't argue with you Simon biking and bikes are emotive.
Riding these SuperBikes certainly makes realise the balls the TT riders have....Hicky rocks.

    Hi Simon
How would you compare the midrange torque between the 1000rr and the speed triple 1200 rs ?

    • @SimonTheSquid
      @SimonTheSquid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hmmm good question. The way they make power is so different it's hard to compare. The RR is more powerful I think in the mid range but its so smooth that it could be confused with feeling less powerful than the RS. The speed triple feels just as fast or faster from 0 - 100 as the RR and makes a bunch of rowdy sounds and motions while it does it (which adds to the sense of power) however the RR comes into its own after 100mph with relentless pull. The rs feels like a raging bull the RR like like a race horse. Both as powerful but one more refined for speed. For the street the RS is the better bike imo. For the track the RR.
