I have owned my 450MT since July, I have 2000 miles on it so far, I have fitted a 15 tooth front sprocket which makes the bike cruise easily on motorways, I have the both the low and high seats, I use the low seat when going off road for the day as I love having the complete foot down confidence it brings, and the high seat for touring and I can still get both feet down. The bike feels more like it has 60hp than 42hp, and can easily overtake most things, I came off a Tenere and much prefer the 450MT, the snatchy throttle for me was cured by taking the slack out of the cables, but it is a thing, hopefully a fuelling map will be released. Accessories are really cheap as are spare parts on the Uncle Wang website. I don't think this would be a great 2 up bike as that would asking a lot, but 1 up with luggage is fine. I average 70mpg which gives a range of 270 miles to empty, I can easily do 220 miles before the warning light comes on, I can cruise on motorways at around the limit!!! all day if I needed to, I just try not to if I can help it. The only thing that lets it down are the service intervals, 3000 miles or 12 months, 3000 miles on this bike can be done in no time, I will keep the warranty for the 1st year, but after that if nothing terrible has cropped up on higher mileage bikes I will self service from then on. There is a guy who has done 25000km on his and had no issues at all.
nice details thanks!
'bike cruise easily on motorways'. How about not?
@@podunkman2709 Bike owners get excited. Ive heard CRF250L guys say they cruise at 80mph all day on freeways, and double down on it readily. ................what is a cruise to one, may not be a cruise to another.
What is the top speed with 15 teeth sprocket?
@@robans I have no idea, it's not really a bike for top speeds, but I have seen a video of someone doing 100mph on one, no idea if it had 15t sprocket though.
I tried one 2 up, and have ordered one as a replacement for my DL650 that I rode around the world. Now need something lighter, so I can keep riding into my 70’s
Had mine since August. 1600 miles and loving it.
Not bought specifically for off-road (my experience is an instructor guided day in the Peak District on the smaller, lighter well prepped Honda CRF250).
This is my smallest capacity bike (others are 690, 900, 750) and IMHO perfectly capable of travelling on with some bags slung across the back, and enough capability to take you off-road (depending on ability and confidence). 15 tooth front sprocket mod knocks about 400 rpm off I hear making it a little less buzzy for higher speeds.
Engine is characterful enough that encourages a bit of fun on the throttle, and quite nimble on the road even with the 21" wheel size. Bigger physical size and 195 (ish) wet weight is IMHO an advantage when on the road. Weight feels quite low and on the whole well balanced so you don't feel the weight. You might get fed up if you drop it more than a few times in a day though. :D
173cm height here and the 820mm seat height is about spot on for me to flat foot. Taller/long-legged people - get the rally seat. I could be tempted for more leg room and long distance comfort.
About 68mpg, which is neither brilliant or awful, but the 17.5l tank gives me plenty of range. When you're used to only 110-150 miles from a full tank, 250+ miles range is a new experience. :)
Not for everyone, I get that (what is?). Personally, I'm getting plenty of smiles out of this bike already. Sales figures and lack of available bikes indicates this model has an audience,.and I'm always getting approached and interrogated by genuinely interested people about this bike where ever I go. :D
Just phoned the Sydney dealer and of course, none available for sale but they (assuming for Australia) have 180 orders waiting to be filled with the next consignment due in 6-8 weeks. Looks awfully like a runaway success and I bet they are stealing T7/Vstrom 800 sales. Amazing what happens when a manufacturer actually listens to the market. They deserve the success, Japan asleep at the wheel for 10 years.
In Australia, there is a place doing a remap of the ECU to fix the throttle and gain a little more power. I have heard that there is an update, which you download via your phone that may address this issue. You can buy a better bashplate from CFMoto, or an aftermarket one. Don't forget you can get the high front guard and a bigger windscreen if required. There are people that swap out the front sprocket for a 15T for the highway. The benefit for the whingers that say the 195kg weight is close to the Tenere, so why would you buy this? The simple answer is that you are not lifting the bike off the ground, you're only standing it up. The Tenere is top heavy, where the weight of this bike is lower, so is a lot easier to stand up.
The over the air (OTA) update from CFMoto does fix the snatchy throttle. I did the update a couple of weeks ago, and it transformed the bike in the slower more technical rides.
I've done over 6,000kms on mine, and it is my unicorn bike!
@@MalHanson the mentioned Update is an ECU Update, in Europe only possible via your dealer. After Update still jerky but its okay
The 450 is still pretty top heavy but the weight issue is also annoying because the weight on their website isn't the actual wet weight...so it weighs even more when you actually need to tip it up. It still isn't that bad as long as you don't have god awful knees or bad lifting technique.
Top heavy? Comon man ❤😂 Center of gravity is so los man
10:37 The curb weight is NOT 175, but close to 195. 175 is the dry weight.
I am surprised that he didn't knew that since there are like 1000 videos on this bike already. I think Calling it 190+ kerb weight wouldn't fit in his "small and light bike" narrative. So, understandable that he would tweak figures a little bit.
@@Trackandshield Yes, it's very unprofessional, actually, since this has been mentioned many times on the net. Also, the whole review was on tarmac.
Exactly. CFMOTO 450MT is heavier than Kove 800X while having less than half the power of Kove, and also significantly smaller fuel tank, smaller ground clearance, smaller suspensions travel.
@@Rex_PayneIsn't the Kove also 195 or something similar? Asking the real weight not the "factory" weight
@@RuiSousa46, i just searched for the actual numbers. MCN have independently measured fully fueled (up to the brim) Kove 800X at 196.4 kg. I haven't found the actual independently measured figures for the 450MT, but people here in the comments says that it's around 195-196 kg. So, I believe this bikes weight roughly the same fully fuelled. However, don't forget that 800X has 1.5-2.5 liters bigger fuel tank than 450MT. Therefore, 800X is supposed to be very slightly lighter than 450MT if you put the same amount of fuel in them. But that's not certain.
You need to be sentenced to ride only a 411 Himalayan for a year. Then you'll have a different appreciation of how much power you really need on the road most of the time. 😆 Back in the day Triumph 650's were only about 45hp and they were considered to be very powerful. NOTE:- Where I live the base T7 is $20,300, CRF300 Rally $11,995 and 450MT is $9990, so there's a huge degree of room for the forgiveness of a few quirks. In three years you'd easily have had your money's worth.
royal enfield himalayan is dirty shit bike. Not only power...but quality and engineering is also very poor.
... my 450MT just received a software update for 45€ to have smooth throttle control in low gear, immediately tested - it works perfekt now! ...
Did you pay CF Moto for software updates, or you get something on black market?
175kg is dry weight
Wet weight is 194/195kg with a full tank of fuel
If this article is true, it's not that interesting. It weighs almost the same as a mid-weight adv bike.
@@NoName-gt5owit doesn’t feel that heavy at all. It’s surprising how it carries it’s weight
@NoName-gt5ow not really my V85TT weighs in at 230kg
bike is looking great but the engine needs to have more power at that weight
195kg is a bit of a pig off-road. It’s easy to build a heavy bike, takes more engineering to add lightness (quote). Would prefer something much lighter.
any rider looking at the resale value for an adv bike is not going to use it for “adventure” if resale value is on the top of list when buying a motorcycle then just stick to street bike/sport bikes from known brands
The jerky throttle at low rpm has been corrected with the latest fueling map, according to reviewers in Australia and Portugal.
And that map is downloadable, at least in those 2 countries. Check with your dealer.
One tooth up on front sprocket might also smooth it out a bit (with less torque response) and bring down revs on highway.
CF Moto is a good brand. Very good. Back in 2016 at Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company rolled out record after
record becoming one of the most successful Chinese brands internationally, with 2023 revenue record exceeding the 13 BIn Yuan
(+ 27%). the company kept the rolling growing trend, reporting global sales increase by 23% and hitting the fifth all time record in a row, with 128.849 vehicles sold in the World (around 40% in China and the rest in near 100 countries). So yeah. Cf Moto is very good.
Cool review. I bought one.
Not only does the bike connect to a Cfmoto app to show where you over revved, the distance completed and fuel prediction.
Your music can be controlled by the function switches. I know. I'm impressed. Volume up & down. Album select.
I know - I know, but I was a kid that had a transistor radio as the ultimate technology in the 80's.
And geofencing that deactivates the motorcycle and calls the police, Sir.
At 4:34 center screen the lower throttle screw is loose
Good spot!
Lol china 😅
@@Desmo904 My wife hates it when we watch movies cuz I point out all the flaws.
example stick shift sounds on a automatic car(Smokey and the Bandit) and 2 stroke sounds on a 4 cycle bike(CHiPs).
Over here in NZ we find a lot of older guys are swapping their GSs and Teneres for the 450MT because of the size and weight.
I'm a kiwi too, can't say I've seen that, I have a Tenere and no way I'd change to that just to save a measly 10kg and drop highway ability. I'd consider it if it was dropping 30 or 40kg as it looks like being a good bike in it's own right but to big of a sacrifice for little weight advantage.
@@silverdale3207 since when is the tenere 200 kg fully fueled ?
@@scannorse I never said it was, it's 205 kg fully fueled, hence it is as I said 10kg heavier than the CF moto which is 195kg
Terrific review, I am considering one of these as my next purchase to replace my ageing V-Strom 650, the difference in weight will be noticeable I am sure.
One of the attractive things is the 4 year warranty which can't be argued with.
Thanks for your hard work on the channel.
Thanks Max! 🍻
I’ve toured on this bike 2 up with luggage and it performed beautifully. It’s a small capacity engine so it isn’t ideal for long freeway stints
I got one! and I love it especially with the rally seat!
Great work by CFMoto they are really stepping up the game of Chinese motorcycles. Had chance to see this bike in person and it's greatly made.
Great video keep it up 🤟🤟😍
When are podcasts back 😊😊
As usual a well informative video. I have the MT 800 and I am well chuffed with it. Quality is right up there with European manufacturers.
Any issues with the camshafts/lobes? what with it being a 790
The chinese built do not have the issue
CFmoto hits points with the bike that has been missing for new rides for a while.
However, having tracked one of these, I would like to see them release a "touring" version with 19/17 wheel combo and dual front brakes (its still a 200kg bike), perhaps from the bigger 800MT. Unfortunately i dont do enough hardcore off road to appreciate the 21/18 wheel combo and the smaller wheels will certanly put it more on the nose to dial out the front end vaugeness along with a larger front sprocket and thicker, more comfortable seat.
Being a shorter rider i can certainly appreciate that cfmoto has cated to this demografics.
Currently own a 800NK advanced and can say CFmoto has certainly been doing good things with thier recent new bikes.
The true value of this bike is to wake up the big brands. Despite all the hoo-hah sales of premium high end bikes are declining as most richer bikers age and trade down or give up riding, and the only real growth sector is the more affordable 500cc and below. It might be a real big market proposition once CF Moto’s operation and support network catches up with their products, but BMW, Ducati, KTM (although they have CF produce their 790s), Triumph and the big 4 Japanese need to wake up. Their smaller offerings are so-so but I have no interest in a vibey single. The nearest spec competitor is the NX500 - not an off-roader but not much more and good enough for most owners, with that long history of quality and reliability. I also wonder whether the noisy pre reveal at a nice price softens up the market and a sneaky price increase for 2025 will be the “actual” price once the bikes are available, at least in the UK, which is probably a small market for CF moto anyway.
Yep, it will wake up the major manufacturers to potentially build their own small displacement motos…in China.
Time will tell regarding all the concerns outlined by others. But cf moto will get better. They will become good. And likely even great.
The new Honda NX500 is also a good competitor with a few more HP. Obviously Honda spells reliability, better resale value and it apparently has great fuel economy too. But no spoked 21/18 wheels, not much in terms of suspension settings, 180 degrees crank instead of 270 and almost the same weight. CFMoto has come a long way, but will have to prove itself in this segment of the market though.
Honda has been really vanilla the last couple years tho ugh nothing exciting in their lineup really
Honda relies too much on their name and reputation, less innovation, but hey, it's still bulletproof. I'm riding a CB400X 2022 at the moment, not too keen on the NX400/500 body design
@@StrappedHistorian The main Honda advantage is their really dense support network. This is going to be one of the drawbacks of CFMoto. At least here, in Texas. There is another competitor here though; it is the Kove 450 Rally. Not the same price range, 10,000 USD+, but chasing the same potential buyers.
Not to mention the Honda has less than desirable suspension for the more spirited off road riding
NX500 is way, way better on road. CF Moto handles off-road better. However if u take a close look u'll soon spot that this bike is still chinese motorcycle.
I’m hoping Aprilia puts their new 457 on a Tuareg. Now that I would buy.
Me too!
@@akiuliano maybe me too ! lol
Isn't it an Indian made machine?
@@NtmoffiAprilia is Italian brand
@@Greddi had to look it up for myself so here it is:
The Aprilia RS 457 is the smallest faired sportbike in the Italian manufacturer's lineup. It is a made-in-India bike, manufactured at Aprilia's Baramati plant.
Best adventure bike in the market. Period. Ignore the one's saying it isn't. Definitely watch other reviews covered in US, UK, AUS and NZ, you ll realise most of them enjoyed this bike and its worth every penny. Dump the big bikes n get this instead and enjoy your ride.
Best for the money, maybe
Well done Moto Bob!
Finally getting a ride on the CFmoto!
Not a bad first up go on a Chinese bike.
Great stuff.
I am super excited for this. I grew up on scramblers and dual sports as a communte to school and fun on friends farm in South Africa but I have not ridden a dirt oriented bike for years. I prefer it over yhe orher options. I have owned CFMOTO Sportbike in the UK as commuter and loved it had no issues. In the USA now where is plenty of dirtbike trails to explore.
1.83 m (6 ft) here. Get the rally seat. It's just the perfect size to reach the ground when you come to a stop and you are bending the knees just in the right angle when seated.
I own one also - no jerky throttle at all. Either Europe has a different tune to meet Euro-5 or your bike or style needs adjustment....
yup.. .you nailed it. it is Euro 5 rules that are fracking it. THere are already some remaps that lower this whilst providing 6 extra HP.
Your reviews are fantastic!
Please make comparison video between Himmi 450 and CF Moto 450MT.
Congrats, good job on this one. 2000 km owner of the MT450. This is an adv bike, the short higher, including 6th gear, is the biggest miss on this bike. 15t helps but hurts down low. At 75 kgs, front springs are stiff with preload all the way out. The off idle on/off fueling is bad. Rest is spot on.
its not lighter, its just cheaper. not bad to have 45hp bike for 5500 euros but for 2025 they made it 6000 euros... and bad resale value. at that point just add 1-1,5k extra and buy japanese i think
…and have access to an established dealership network and good spares availability too. 😂
It is lighter than it’s closest competitor (NX500) and has much better appointments
Buying on resale value would mean riding on sunny days only, on pavement, under 2000mi/year, and washing more than riding.
You'd be better off with a Harley.
You saw o ne for sale? naw ya didnt
@@spotthedogg it's not lighter, has the same weight as NX500, 175 kg is not kerb weight, it's dry weight
I was hyped about the 450MT, but I went to see it at a dealership and got quite dissapointed. Probably is more due to my expectations watching reviews and all of that but, I don't think it's good enough. I expected it to be like you said some sort of a "mini tenere" but it's definetly not. It's just a bit lower, but it's actually wider and only 10kg lighter fully fueled but only has half the engine... It's a great bike allround but in my opinion, almost 200kg wet for a 450cc it's too much.
@@pepcooper try it. Just do it... Worse thing that might happen is you validate your reasoning.
Who says I haven't? And why do you feel like my reasoning won't be valid otherwise? It's not like all people should like and/or feel the same when riding a specific bike. Like I said, it's just my opinion and it's as valid as anyone's. Cheers.
Totally agree. It has an overweight issue when compared to the midsize ADVs. It may carry this weight well when upright but drop it while off-road in unfavourable conditions and I bet it’s a different story…
@@888jimmy the point was weight to power ratio ... I can show you a lot of videos of scrawnier girls picking up GS1250. The thing is everyone keeps saying the weight is too high when compared to a t7 that has double the power... But what was your expectancy? What would be a good weight for a motorcycle with 450 with basic confort not only to do off road like a crf, but also for getting there to the cool spots? 35% less? Just like the 35% more CC in the t7?
For me the amazing thing is not that they manage to loose 30kg when comparing to a equally equiped motorcycle that only has 350cc more.... But that price. (I am not biased and not thinking of buying one, just feel happy we are having new competitors pushing the market price wise...European and Jap motorcycles have been creping up their prices abusrdely)
Thanks for pointing out the distance between the foot pegs and the seat, most miss out on mentioning this .
Lowering kit or higher seat are possibilities.
My 5th bike in my shed. I love it❤❤❤
Honestly i would never buy one of these (i have really bad experiences with chinese brand Motorcycles, Cars and Scooters) but hopefully this Bike shows the European and Japanese Brands how easy it is to solve a lot of "customer problems".
The ABS-Switch is brilliant (look at you, Yamaha Tenere 700 and your stupid "Oh this Button just turns your ABS back on, if you want to disable it you have to stop and get into 300 Submenues and as soon as you turn off the bike you have to do it all again"-ABS-Settings), Apple Car Play in such a "cheap" bike is simpy unheard of and the whole setup with the quircky 450 Engine is just brilliant
Add on the GPS/alarm that comes with the bike and OTA software/remaping from your phone with no need to go to a dealer... About quality vs competition... European manufacturers are loosing sales in China (And Europe) due to quality match now from (some selected) chinese products (the vast majority is still trash). Also note that they are betting their name (30 years making mules for offroad) and not using a "refurbished" ole motorcycle brand. These guys are here to stay.
The only thing/issue will be the resale value... for that to even out, this low quality stigma has to end first.
I own one of these and the review is spot on - jerky throttle and power lets it down a bit
I've heard there is an update you can download to fix the throttle
I’ve ordered mine just waiting for it , so looking forward to it.thanks for the great review
An imperfect unicorn. But very, very good value for the money.
NX500 or IBEX will be a tough decision. Road focus or more off-road?
Great that we have a choice though.
I have an NX with Road % tires and boxes and i get my CF450 for a separate country next spring for on/off road touring.10k on the NX its a very fun road bike
Have one on order Feb 2025. I had a T7, great bike but for every day use and traffic its just too tall and top heavy. Sold it after a year. Now trying out the Triumph 400X and having a blast. Not great for motorways but you can do it. Looking forward to this one as it going to give me more protection for the motorway sections but then also a great ride on the smaller back roads that I love to explore.
I basically agree with everything said in this video. I’ve test ridden this CFMOTO and I’ve been impressed by the chassis, the built quality and the equipment, given the affordable price. Not so much by its engine which is, in my experience, a bit too underpowered for the French roads. The Himalayan 450 gives you less for the same amount of money but its Sherpa single, though far from being perfect for its capacity, seems to be a little more snappy. Note that both bikes are perfect for my short legs (5’7, 1.70m).
Himalayan doesn't give less for the same money, the himmy is built like a tank, you can drop it.
That can't be said of the MT. Sure it has more features, and doesn't seem bad quality, but metal is more robust than plastic.
My first impression of this bike, just from pictures and video, was 450 Yamaha Tenere. I can't wait to ride it.
i test rode 450mt, its nothing like tenere, feels like half the bike (which it is)
Bob, have loved and watched yer video's here from Texas fer years and I'm really lovin this fer my 6'2" grandson (even though he's 14 with facial hair)
The other solution to the seat to foot peg problem is to redesign a new foot peg mounting bracket that allows for lowering the peg and offer it as an option.
This will be a great choice to use as intended if you pick one up secondhand in a year/18 months time.
I also think so... but remember... many of these bike are currently being abused by newbies off road... so might be a hard bet!
Given the high demand and long lead-times for new 450s, used 450s will be very expensive.
@@Ijusthopeitsquick I hope there will be plenty for sale, as 800MTX gets introduced and some people will "upgrade"...
Hopefully this comes to Brazil 🇧🇷
Cool Bike...Wish someone like CFMOTO would make a Adventure Bike in a 125...There's nothing out there, Fantic make a 125 Rally, but that's more a scrambler type bike, the big Japanese companies have given up, making only street bikes and scooters...Nice one Bob 🙂
How about the Mutt Stravaig 125 Adventure?
@@aunoates6617 Maybe.. But it's just a Sinnis Terrain with a few add ons.. Maybe after iv'e seen a few UK reviews 👍
Sinis do a decent adv bike
General reviews of this bike have been great and hopefully I can try it someday. One thing that I always wondered was if the engine in this was originally planned as a replacement for the ktm single 390 range…. CF and ktm do have a partnership so probably the engine was already designed before ktm cancelled their plans
Still disappointed we haven't seen a ktm 490 adventure yet. I was tempted by the 390 but I don't like singles that small. Been tempted to try and find an old kawasaki KLE500 to be honest
Thanks Bob - the stock seat wouldn’t really work for me so good to know the Rally seat. Also the 270 crank on that little twin is brilliant.
The Chinese learned well from manufacturing for the Germans and then slap an impossible price on it.
Just not sure about sending more money to lifetime premier Xi, but I’ve ridden GS tours in China they love ADV and nature as much as we do!!
Great comprehensive review bud, nice one. Really fancy one of these, need to find a test ride :)
This bike has a lot of accessories fitted to it from the factory. Put all thoose items on a competitors and they would go 10-15kg up. So yeah, it is light, and also has low center of gravity. Stop commenting negatives if you haven't ridden one.
Its a bike I'm really interested in and your caveats for the bike are all fixable as I think has been said, new seat for more height, a remap for the acceleration and a 15 tooth sproket to lower the revs for motorway riding. I would definitely tour on it, I do now on my Guzzi V7 with no issues. I think as a low cc'd adventure bike it is probably one of the best out there at the moment which can be seen in sales and after market bits for it. I think it's a good all rounder, my view anyway.
Great review.. A lot of bike for the money, looking forward to test riding one 👊
Buying the bike is only the start of the story… spares availability, service intervals and dealership support are what makes ownership a breeze or a pain. As an early adopter of a brand that had few (at that point) spares stocks and even fewer dealers in the UK, a cheap RRP can lead you down an unpleasant road. 😂
I haven't ridden one, nor am I interested in this category. But I 've seen a couple of these on the road lately and they look much more expensive and quality in the flesh than in the photos.
FRASHD tuning in Oz will do remap making it smoother and another 7bhp.
Thanks for the video. I’ve watched a few on this bike, as I’m quite interested in it. They haven’t hit my area of the States yet, but my dealer assures me they’re getting some. Sounds like it may be a bit heavy, but I do quite like the options for seat height adjustment, being a shorter rider (28” inseam). I’m interested to see one in person.
Love the channel/vid. Ready for this bike to be old news! Hard pass on the MT for many reasons. Support the brands that built the market!
Hi are these bikes reliable as a Japanese bikes are pls?
Not yet.
Can you tell us what navigation app you're using as seen at 4:11 on the video
Check that oil pump pressure mate , the same pumps in KTM parallel twins are running low
& causing those cam problems ironically the CF in CFMoto coy,d stand for Cam-Failures
Nice review Bob. I'd very much like to see you do a review of their 450 clc cruiser as well.
Would love to see how it felt on the highway. I'm looking at some small and lighter adventure bikes. I test road the Himalayan 450 and it was a bit viby between 5-6000 RPM's. Otherwise everything about that bike was great. I'm worried how fatiguing that vibration might be. This 450 might be better for longer highway rides.
Calling it light at 175kg kerb weight ( its 190+) is the biggest disrespect to your bike journalism and your viewers. How hard is it to get basic spec sheet right?!
Calm down
He's right. Although it could just be a little mistake. But his whole idea of this bike being "best small and light adv" is based of a false figure. @@jimzenglish1
It's only downside of this unique is the wight..but some review said that it's feel lighter than it is..
We don't know how coming years will come to..🫠
Well, cf-moto website calls it ”curb weight 175kg”… journalists get their initial info official ways and not from YT videos.
@@Gravelishdamn that's straight up scam lmfao
For us old guys who rode motocross bikes in the 80's and 90's that is the riding position, that straight line off the tank is not comfortable for us old riders. Probably why they say adventure bikes are for older riders.
Brother, you bring up about power on everything. It's always one of your gripes on smaller bikes but it's a nearly perfectly distributed power band here for what it's being advertised as imo.
You forgot to mention that the Ibex450 / MT450 is 17L of high octane fuel every fill up! That's how it gets those HP and torque numbers. One more reason why it's not particularly well suited for touring.
what do you mean, which, it takes 95 RON octane, like all the other motorcycles?
I own 4 motorcycle and none need premium fuel so your "All other motorcycles" logic is deeply flawed. If someone wanted to go around the world at least half of the gas stations wouldn't have the proper fuel for the bike. I've taken my CB500X which is designed for regular fuel to hundreds of stations that only have regular fuel available.
@@andywright5147 95 RON octane is specified for this engine, same like all other motorcycles, that is regular fuel. Same goes for CB500X, 95 octane is minimum. In Europe there is no fuel below 95 RON octane level. That is minimum you can buy at gas stations. What region are you from, may be something specific to that market.
@@jutjub22 Regular fuel is 87 Octane, Mid grade is 89 and Premium fuel is 91 octane. The IBEX450 needs premium fuel which is 91 octane.
CB500X and most motorcycles are designed for 87 Octane Fuel (91 RON) because that's the fuel most of the world uses. The exception is high performance engines like super sport bikes. Europe might only have premium 91 (95 RON) but most of the rest of the world only has this gas available in city's. In South America octane is sometimes even lower at 85 like in Bolivia. This motorcycle would run absolutely terrible at that low of octane.
Originally I was looking at the Svartvillan 401 for a road bike (maybe doing some light off-road ((I'll be buying a dual sport down the road for off-road.))....but the lure of the MT or a Himalayan is enticing. I'm guessing the 401 is a funner/better ride on the road. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Wonderfull review as always. this was the first ADV bike I test rode. I am on the retro segment... but this... made me laugh all the way... I just wanted to push it off the road to jump up and down the sidewalks. It reminds me of the fiat Panda 4x4.
One other competitor would be the nx500. maybe more suited for longer rides on the road.
What about water in frame issues??😮
Absolutely Worth for Money...
How long will it take them to order the Rally Seat?
It is way too heavy for a 450 engine.
Can someone help me? I am considering buying an MT450 for long rides and occasional off-road use. Would the MT450 be suitable for this type of riding?
2:40 not true, sadly it’s doesn’t work like car play, have few option to change music (but you can’t control volume), and contacts which you can call but who needs this ?!
I hope in future they add some navigation, screen mirroring
70mph is plenty enough. I would say is that it is an excellent motorcycle. IT HAS ENOUGH POWER, stop whining about that. For 450cc it produces a normal amount of power. For those who say it is underpowered i recommend Triumph Rocket 3.
Was the update done for the fueling? there was a recent update that can be done over air with the app. Supposedly fixed the weird fueling issue at partial throttle. I am waiting for my local dealer in Mass to get one in. (I was gong to put a deposit down but I really need to see and feel a bike before spending any money even if its pents)
Shame about the abrupt on/off throttle. That gets old fast and would be a deal breaker for me. Hopefully they rectify that.
i might wait for its big brother the 800MTX
With that Problem ktm engine? Good Glück with that
That is 221 kg + fuel ….😂
CF is my choice until now.. hope to get it soon
Ive heard there are only 100 units coming to the UK next year so if you havent got a deposit down already you are in for a long wait.
Size wise, it looks the same size as a t7. How does it compare?
More confortable (fully adjustable suspension), more electronics/usability, "half" the price, and all the rest goes downhill from there. BUt again... a T7 has 300 cc more, so you shouldn't compare them.
You're so lucky mate, in the country you live in that bike is really cheap, but in my country (indognesia) it almost cost 11 grand due to broken law and government (they're all corrupt) i always envy other people who lives abroad. They can buy something for a very cheap price
The most stupid thing in adventure bikes is a pipe goin below the engine
I want this in Brazil ❤
One thing I hate about it is that somehow, it cannot pair with SENA branded headphones, only Cardo.
Ill keep the crf300L Rally in the garage
Your Rally is still over 40 kg lighter, which is very significant. A bit down on the cfmoto power though but it’s a Honda so top build quality and reliability. That means a lot.
Love Hondas but it's a different budget to the MT and especially with something like the Voge 300 Rally. Obviously the Honda's better but only if you can afford it.
How does it compare to the Kove 450 ?
Price difference so not like with like.
@@davidmawer6859
That's okay . This bike is being compared to more expensive bikes . I think it's what's available in it's class like light middleweight bikes in the 400cc range .
@MOTOBOB As a 23' KTM 390Adv owner already I have a 450MT on order as want a more green lane friendly bike. The 390Adv needs quite a few mods to do off-road IMO, & even then it's slighlty compromised by wheel sizes. Don't get me wrong it's a good road bike with Adv styling for our crappy A/B-roads in the UK but too revvy for me off tarmac.
Will I keep both...dunno yet🤔
@4:33 you have loose screw at the throttle housing.
They offer a seat that’s like 3 inches taller too. I think they call it their rally seat.
Sounds like this one is quite hardcore off-road
cheers, i like these. slightly bigger kettle of fish, but can get a Kove 800x to review?
also check the new VOGE 900 dsx, and the new CFMoto 800 MTX.... better wait and see how this all unravels :D
The 2025 model will come will more bhp and better fuel map!! I’ve had 2 CFMOTO s and the fueling has been terrible on both I will wait???
Yep I had same issue on test bike I rode. They need to sort the fueling
How you know that " more bhp". and how much more?
@@zaynkoraithats not correct. 2025 will habe only price increase. No changes. Mabe Euro 5+ what will be not better for the engine 🎉
Fuelling is bad on all these new bikes in order to meet tighter and tighter emissions restrictions. Mods will always be required from now on :(
We start seeing some dealerships adding CFMoto on the other side of the Atlantic.
Currently selling my africa twin to buy one of these so much more comfortable for high country riding.
I would choose KOVE 800 but with cruise control 😄. Maybe next generation. 190kg full fuel, and ratio - 2kg/HP - better than Yamaha MT09.
2 total Different Bikes. CPn3 is the Best engine in the Segment

Can’t wait, this is a unicorn bike. Buy it before they raise the price
2:44 it has apple carplay?
CFmoto bikes, ATVs, SxS, etc. with the newer dashes have Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Google "CFMoto MMI"
No
I had my heart set on the 390 as I love the looks and as I used to ride sports bikes out was more up my street.
I have to go with my brain though as the riding I do out here in Ukraine is mostly dirt roads.
Even the roads out where I am are pretty bad so this is more practical.
The snatchy throttle has been fixed in an update. Update your bike!
I have done the update and snatchy throttle didn't fix completely.
