  • I’m back with another DIY video on installing an audio system and backup camera into a 2006 Dodge Dakota truck. I put this video together because it felt like one of the hardest TH-cam video to find that shows every step a person needs to be successful in installing an audio system with a backup camera.

    Awesome video my man ! I think I wanna go with this build but was wondering if you need to leave the aftermarket red wire plugged into the cig lighter for the whole installation ? Or just for the beginning data download

    i got a 06 dakota and am putting in a touch screen but i see you didn't use the red wire on the camera just wondering why because am waiting on Crutchfield wiring harness because i don't want to tap in to that 12v cig lighter.

    Great job. I wish I would have recorded my adventure in installing my touch screen in my 06 Dakota. Cutting out the dash wasn't enjoyable, but the end result was worth it.

    Thank u for ur vid. Had the same power problem with the durango. Just have to figure out which wires of the factory harness are the negatives for the speakers.

    How did you get the wires from the rear camera into the cab? Did you drill a hole?

      @Corporate11000 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think he drilled a hole. Looks like just wired under the truck to the front and up to the drivers seat.

    Great Car Stereo Installation Work!! When we saw you pull the plug on your *Air* *Bag* Unit, had you already *disconnected* the battery, and was there an On/Off Air Bag *Switch* somewhere up front like on my *2004* Dodge Dakota? If so, did you have to turn it to the off position as well?

      @itinerantminds7536  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the battery was already disconnected. Also, I didn’t see an on/off air bag switch.

    I woulda ran the constant power (red wire) to something that comes on and off with the car in the fuse box. Also I don't get why u drilled the 4 holes makes no sense

    • @1shinner
      @1shinner 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In order for the plate to mount flush you have to drill 4 holes hence why they gave 4 screws to put them in

    How did you know what wires got to what wires ?

    • @anicetomaldonado
      @anicetomaldonado ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you get the kit, it's color match easy. Lt green for the screen bypass connected with the black and done.
      For this radio. Some radios need a relay circuit to "turn on" the screen (also known as parking brake bypass) so it works driving down the road.

    • @itinerantminds7536
      @itinerantminds7536  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s exactly how I knew.

      @Veery_live 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Best way to do it. Ground that bypass wire out so it thinks car has parking brake on all the time

    The most important part was the wiring and you skipped that.
